Thanks for getting us going, David. I'm gobbling down some lunch and will be with you shortly.
ReplyDeleteThe starting XI for the Leeds boys this afternoon:
ReplyDeleteMeslier, Ayling, White, Cooper, Dallas, Phillips, Klich, Harrison, Costa, Roberts, Bamford. Subs: Miazek, Douglas, Poveda, Alioski, Hernandez, Berardi, Struijk, Shackleton, Stevens.
Good Afternoon, Bob and you're welcome. I will eat lunch around the end of this match
ReplyDeleteStu Dallas and Helder Costa back in the starting XI with Douglas and Alioski on the bench again.
ReplyDeleteTeams out on the pitch at ER with Leeds in their traditional all white while Stoke is wearing all black with gray sleeves and red letters
ReplyDeleteLeeds will attack the Norman Hunter stand in the first half
ReplyDeleteWe're just about set to go now - great to have you on board for this one. I'm on pins and needles.
ReplyDeleteThey're off from ER.
ReplyDeleteThanks , Bob. We're here to support you during the promotion run in
ReplyDeleteOh- we're straight into the attack with Tyler pulling a great save out of Jack Butland.
ReplyDeleteCome on, we need better deliveries out of Kal this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteLeeds nearly score at thirty seconds . Tyler Roberts gifted the ball from a poor clearance and had his shot tipped over by Jack Butland
ReplyDeleteAll Leeds from the off
ReplyDeleteWe're playing good, fluid attacking stuff early on - a good sign. But I'd like to see an early goal to settle the nerves.
ReplyDeleteJack Butland makes a meal from gathering an Ayling Leeds cross
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Bob.
ReplyDeleteCOME ON LEEDS!
MOT!
Silly mistake there by Ben White earns him a yellow card. Stoke were nearly in there!
ReplyDeleteBen White loses the ball by faffing and fouls Nick Powell. Is booked for that foul just outside the box
ReplyDeleteI am here after two minutes
ReplyDeleteSTUPID MODERN DAY FOOTBALL!!
Leeds lose it at the back...gets carded...thankfully the color is yellow
Into the wall...get a corner
ReplyDeleteThe strike is straight into the wall and the deflected follow-up goes out for a corner. Mark 'em up!
ReplyDeleteInto the wall by Tyreese Campbell then James MCLean with a shot deflected for a corner
ReplyDeleteLeeds break then lose the ball, but immediately win it back
ReplyDeleteWelcome, Dave!
ReplyDeleteLots of cardboard cutouts filling the seats. Wonder the one of Bob is
ReplyDeleteAn improvised clearance there from Meslier.
ReplyDeleteGreat Sweeper keeping by Meslier
ReplyDeleteLeeds look shaky at the back
ReplyDeleteKnock it off
Do they have the bottle?
Good afternoon, Dave
ReplyDeleteGood pint , Dave. Ben White nearly gifted a goal due to faffing about at the back
ReplyDeleteThis fixture was Bielsa's first league match in charge of Leeds which Leeds won 3-1 on opening day nearly two years ago
ReplyDeleteSuch bad passing in the midfield
ReplyDeleteThankfully a modern day cross... how pathetic is that!
ReplyDeleteHe's a professional!
Nice Leeds attack, but Stoke cleared before Leeds could get a shot off
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had enough chances yet. Come on!
ReplyDeleteCOME ON LEEDS.... GET A GOAL
ReplyDeleteDecent effort from Bamford... shoot more!
ReplyDeleteIt opens up for Patrick but he blasts his left footed effort over. Shame.
ReplyDeleteOH! Long range effort from Bamford is just over. The closest either team has come to scoring
ReplyDeleteThe Potters aren't the long ball merchants they were in previous seasons
ReplyDeleteSHOOOOOT
ReplyDeleteWHY TAKE A SECOND TOUCH!!!
A shot is Kliched off of Bruno Martins INdy 500 for a Leeds corner
ReplyDeleteOh - nice move there by Klich, but then his shot was blocked out.
ReplyDeleteI think it was going wide
ReplyDeleteBruno Martins Indy 500 needs a pit stop due to an injury in the family jewels
ReplyDeleteCorner headed away and Indy 500 is up and continues
ReplyDeleteOh - how did that not go in?!
ReplyDeleteOMG....HOW DID THEY NOT SCORE!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOH ! Shot from Bamford then Tyler Roberts with a shot off the pitch. How did Leeds n ot score. Spectacular clearance came from James McLean. Great passing
ReplyDeleteWe are positively humming now but we need to bury one of these chances.
ReplyDeleteTWO GOAL LINE SAVES
ReplyDeleteDanny Baath with a goal line clearance as well
ReplyDeleteTime for drinkies while it's raining cats and dogs in W Yorkshire
ReplyDeletePhew! I need to towel off during the drinks break after all of that goal mouth action!
ReplyDeletePlay reumes
ReplyDeleteBob is wishing Danny would go for a Baath and get McLean after those two goal line clearances
ReplyDeleteOh - a cross shot by Roberts just eludes Patrick.
ReplyDeleteOH nice pass from Roberts . If only Bamford has stretched out a leg he may have given a Leeds the lead
ReplyDeleteI am indeed, David - nice one! Boom boom!
ReplyDeleteThe rain is teeming down now.
ReplyDeleteLong ball from Mini Cooper cleared out by Indy 500, but Leeds we called offside
ReplyDeleteNice long ball to Helder who had just strayed offside.
ReplyDeleteOffside by a mile...and he's complaining about it
ReplyDeleteCheers, Bob. I thought you would enjoy that during this tense time of the season
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Bob. The announcer said that you wouldn't expect whether like this in July. We lived there long enough to know better
ReplyDeleteVery tense. I'm having kittens here!
ReplyDeleteLook.... I have made it absolutely clear....TWO United VICTORIES today....enough said!
ReplyDeleteA right old rearguard action from Stoke now.
ReplyDeleteThat's what we need, Dave. MOT!
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Dave. Must win for both
ReplyDeleteBugger! Harrison has a chance but blasts his shot too high and wide.
ReplyDeleteHIT THE BIG RECTANGLE!!
ReplyDeleteWell over by Jack Harrison after several Potters blocks
ReplyDeletePablo looking a wee bit chilly on the bench. I hope he's warmed up to go in the second half.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Hopefully Hernandez is back to full fitness
ReplyDeleteSome prehistoric football from Stoke, taking a free kick from inside their own half and just kadoomphing it up the pitch to no one.
ReplyDeleteLeeds are going to score before half time
ReplyDeleteI hate these games where we have all the possession and attacking but always look prone to give up a flukey away goal.
ReplyDeleteFirst Test Match of the summer started yesterday
ReplyDeleteEngland getting walloped so far by the Windies
Leeds definitely deserve to be in the lead
ReplyDeleteWow - seven former Premier League clubs in L1 this year?
ReplyDeleteCan you name those?
We need a goal before the interval to settle my nerves.
ReplyDeletePENALTY!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNO VAR
We've got a penalty!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWAY HAY! PENALTY TO LEEDS AS SMITH TRIPS HELDER COSTA IN THE BOX
ReplyDeleteSTONEWALL ANYWAY
ReplyDeletePlease bury it!!
Klich to take.....ONE NIL!!!
ReplyDeleteI CALLED IT!!
YESSSSSS!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMatty converts to put us 1-0 up!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! LEEDS SCORE WITH THE KLICH OF THE BALL FROM THE SPOT. WELL PLACED SENDING JACK BUTLAND THE WRONG WAY
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Bob. Well deserved lead.
ReplyDeletePhew! That'll settle the nerves now.
ReplyDeleteBack on top of the league where we should be!
ReplyDeleteGreat prediction, Dave
ReplyDeleteJust score a few more
ReplyDeleteOnto an LOB blogging trio of stoppage time minutes
ReplyDeleteMy update on my phone came after the goal was scored on my Apple TV...we must be live
ReplyDeleteI was a little worried before spot kick because I didn't get a score update from FotMob
Matty Klich onto seven goals on the season now - his drought appears to be over. Let's have another!
ReplyDeletehalf time
ReplyDeleteHalf way there
Leeds one up at the half and a lead of several goals would not flatter Leeds
ReplyDeleteAnd that's half time - we troop in 1-0 up, which is a fair reflection of the match. I'm hoping that we can build on that in the second half.
ReplyDeleteThe Cherries vs the Spurs about to kickoff from Dean's Court. Rooting for the Cherries to win although it's probably in vain
ReplyDeleteThey're off from Dean Court.
ReplyDeleteCOME ON YOU CHERRIES!
Teams out
ReplyDeleteMOT blurting out
Nice cross from Sissy off a pass from HArry Kane and cleared for a Spurs corner
ReplyDeletePablo Hernandez has come on for Tyler Roberts at the beginning of the second half.
ReplyDeletePablo on for Roberts
ReplyDeletePablo Hernandez on for Tyler Roberts as the second half is underway from ER
ReplyDeleteVAR checking for a penalty to Spurs. Seemed a minor push in the back on Harry Kane off the corner. Nothing doing and I agree with that
ReplyDeleteKane wants a pen
ReplyDeleteBig push in back
VAR says no
I think it was
YES!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTWO NIL
YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!HELDER COSTA PUTS LEEDS TWO UP WITH A GREAT FINISH PAST THE STRANDED JACK BUTLAND
ReplyDeleteYESSSSSSS!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHelder adds our second. I thought he'd blown it but he stabbed it home!
Great start to the second half
ReplyDeletescore a few more
Great through ball from Dallas. Stu not Texas
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Leeds need to score more and often
ReplyDeleteSouthampton get the ball in the net... flag is up
ReplyDeleteWatching Jose throw a tantrum would sure delight Steve and Simon
ReplyDeleteWell spotted by linesman
ReplyDeleteDallas booked for a rash foul. Stu not Texas thatis
ReplyDeleteCan't believe that was not given for a penalty...Kane was pushed down... brought down like he was many times in Russia
ReplyDeleteGRRR ... Bam hits the crossbar!
ReplyDeleteBURY IT!!
Oh - off the bar!
ReplyDeleteOH! Off the bar from Banmford from two yards out after a shot from Klich was blocked
ReplyDeletecommentator says that Bournemouth have scored the most goals by set pieces...they have a corner.....go short and lose it immediately
ReplyDeleteBuitland turns around a near post shot from Bamford off a pass from Helder Costa fter tackled a defender
ReplyDeleteAnother chance... well saved!
ReplyDeleteLeeds need to extend their lead
Modern Day corner follows....it is just stunning!
Oh - Patrick with another strong effort.
ReplyDeleteCorner headed away at the near post
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't know why Stoke are this bad. They've got some decent players - Jack Butland, Sam Clucas, James McLean, Sam Vokes.
ReplyDeleteAn Ayling foul by Bruno MArtins Indy 500 results in a Leeds free kick
ReplyDeleteFree kick headed away by Nick Powell for a Leeds corner
ReplyDeleteTHREE NIL!!!!
ReplyDeleteCOOOOP
Victory sealed!
ReplyDeleteYESSSSSSSSSS!!!! MINI COOPER DRIVES IN A SHOT OFF THE POST TO PUT LEEDS THREE UP
ReplyDeleteAre you watching the REAL United
ReplyDeleteYESSSSSSSS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a goal! Lovely team move ending with big Liam Cooper stabbing home!
Cue the MUR pun!
3-0!
Nice assist from Pablo Hernandez off a long possession that began with a short corner
ReplyDeleteSeven more points at most
ReplyDelete"Mini Cooper drives it home" - I knew I could count on you!
ReplyDeleteThere's 3! If Bournemouth can pull off a miracle against the Disinterested Waiters, my Thursday hate-watch will be pretty complete.
ReplyDeleteBruno Martins Indy 500 booked for driving into a Leeds player.
ReplyDeleteShould have been four...Klich...hit the target!!
ReplyDeleteOh - Matty misses a sitter for #4!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon,Steve . Dave and I want the Cherries to win from a United point of view. I mentioned you in a comment when Jose threw a tantrum when the VAR decision didn't go his way
ReplyDeleteOhhh. Klich misses a sitter.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Bob about the Potters. Based on the Squad a playoff spot should be the bare minimum not battling relegation to L1
ReplyDeleteTyrus Campbell with a speculative effort and then he gets the hook. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteHiya Steve
ReplyDeleteMichael O'Neill with a double change for the Potters
ReplyDeleteGlad that we're able to put the Goblins to the sword for you, mate. Welcome to the party!
ReplyDeleteTyreese Campbell the son of former Gunners and Potters striker, Kevin
ReplyDeleteOur old boy Sam Vokes gets the hook as well. He's been anonymous today.
ReplyDeleteI saw that. I just hadn't cottoned on to what time Leeds was playing.
ReplyDeleteDon't want to jinx it, but possibly Bournemouth could hold down a point today if they have any pride at all left.
The Cherries win consecutive corners
ReplyDeleteI sure hope the real United have it this easy
ReplyDeleteMy Howe I wish Eddie emphasizes the need for three points so that they are only a point behind the Hammers and Hornets . One can only hope.
ReplyDeleteAll Bournemouth at Dean Court
ReplyDeleteApparently the new ground in Bournemouth was rotated 90 deg from the time United lost in the Cup in 84(against Appy Arry's side)
Time for drinkies at Dean Court
ReplyDeleteWOW! I'm sure Dean Court has been really modernized since that giant killing
ReplyDeleteAn Ayling pass from James McLean results in a Potters corner
ReplyDeleteI can't stand the Goblins. We were watching some period piece on Amazon and there's a merchant who has a factory in Stoke. When he was telling his sweetheart that he had to travel to the factory, I blurted out, "Stoke! Jesus."
ReplyDeleteAtrocious cross by a Potter after he beat the man
ReplyDeleteDo ANY team practice crossing?
Corners....into the box?
Corner headed away but the Potters keep possession and wina free kick
ReplyDeleteAtrocious cross by a Potter after he beat the man
ReplyDeleteDo ANY team practice crossing?
Corners....into the box?
Nice one, Steve. Love that Potters info
ReplyDeleteKick save a and a beaut by Buckland
ReplyDeleteNice Leeds break and Jack Harrison with a shot straight at Butland and forced away
ReplyDeleteOh - great save by Butland with his feet from Jack. Honestly, this could have been 6-0 by now - and probably should have been.
ReplyDeleteTime for drinkies at ER
ReplyDeleteButland is still a Goblin? Surely some crap premiership club can rescue him.
ReplyDeleteHe's way too classy a keeper to be stranded in Mordor.
Penalty to Southampton
ReplyDeleteJWP brought down in the box
Of course, there is still VAR...given
A lad by half a dozen would not flatter Leeds
ReplyDeleteJWP....hits the bar...no goal!
ReplyDeletePlay resumes at ER
ReplyDeleteYIKES! Rare error from JWP
ReplyDeleteYeah, the Stoke tourist board has not been in touch.
ReplyDeleteJack Butland has really declined since the Potters were relegated. Not sure if a Prem team would take him on. Perhaps as a backup and he would have to win his way into am starting role
ReplyDeleteLOL! No guided tours of the Potteries on offer?
ReplyDeleteHand bags at Dean Court
ReplyDeleteYESSSSSSS!!!!!
ReplyDeletePablo slots home #4!!!!!
FOUR NIL!!
ReplyDeletePABLO
Equal on GD with Baggies
Another. The blackness of my heart is getting slaked well today.
ReplyDeleteGOAL !PABLO PUTS LEEDS UP BY A BARBER SHOP QUARTET. NICE FINISH FROM THE D OFF A PASS FROM BAMFORD
ReplyDeleteGreat finish
ReplyDeleteThat was positively Brazilian in the move. Lovely dummy from Patrick and wallop!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Bob. Surely, Leeds have clinched the three points
ReplyDeleteLOL, Steve. That doesn't sound like you
ReplyDeleteduh!!!
ReplyDeleteNow United need to match United
ReplyDeleteDanny Ings gives Saints the lead at Goodison
ReplyDeleteSecond sub of the day for us - Stu Dallas off for Baz Douglas.
ReplyDeleteDavid Brooks wins a Cherries free kick just outside the Spurs box
ReplyDeleteActually, it's a Cherries corner
ReplyDeleteWe want five! We want five! We want five!
ReplyDeleteFive would be great and well deserved
ReplyDeleteWe're still disliked for the football we played in the Graham years. Why is Stoke not widely reviled for the Pulis years?
ReplyDeleteI think it's that the broken hearted Spuds fans of those days grew up to be journalists today.
They certainly should be.
ReplyDeleteTen minutes left - surely enough time for us to get another.
ReplyDeleteIngs looks like one of those toothless extras forming the bake-knuckle fighting ring for Brad Pitt, but he's really done very well this year for Soton. They'd be in a dog fight without him.
ReplyDeletePass from Hernandez cleared by James Chester for a Leeds corner
ReplyDelete
