Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

TH-14 to Sign New Arsenal Deal

The BBC has just announced that Thierry Henry will sign a new deal this week with Arsenal. Happy now, Gooner Steve?

Davey's got the memory of a gypsy moth. How he could hate the player that made United the marketable commodity it is today. Beyond belief.

I was really happy to read that Titi re-signed. Thing is, his refusal to sign before now is a mystery. I put a lot of our poor showing this year down to three things--the decision not to bring in a player to do what Paddy did for us the way he did it two years ago, long term injuries to key players, and the destabilising effect of Henry not categorically deciding on his future.

I watched the CL Final and part of the tension for me was seeing him chuckling with Ronaldinho, hugging Eto'o and helping him up, and whispering to Guily and Deco. C'mon, everyone hates Deco. I was sure all of that was a sign that in addition to losing the final, we'd lost our main man.

Now we can look ahead to a pretty bright future. Jens had a great season in goal, Toure and Sendaros look like a great combo, Cesc looks on course to be one of the best Spanish midfielders ever and Eboue is as good a young right back as any playing. Diaby looks just the man to push Gilbo onto the bench, and hopefully, Van Persie can get back to the rich form he ended the 2005 season in. Question marks for Pires, Ljungberg, Reyes, Hleb and Adebayor, and Bergkamp's retirement is a big loss. I'd like to bring in a real name like that Torres boy at Athletico, but even more, I'd like to bring in a defensive minded midfielder in case Diaby is out longer term or doesn't recover. I also liked the look of that Abel Xavi from Villareal whose crossing was just giving us bags of problems in the Mestalla leg of the Semis.

And with what's happening in Italy, there's bound to be a massive clear out of players that have get out clauses if their teams get relegated for impropriety.

You lot have been pretty supportive after we lost the CL Final.

But my Chelsea friend sent me this...

What goes BEEP.....BEEP.....BEEP.....BEEP?

Answer-- Arsenal's open top bus being backed into the garage.

God, some people.

I enjoyed the Arsenal Open Top Bus joke. Shame it came from a Chelski fan
