Uruguay v. Peru Live!
I'm back from a lovely 4th of July cookout with a bellyload of kielbasa and German potato salad on board, settling in for tonight's Copa America footie. It's been a bore-fest so far but I'm hoping that Uruguay's dynamic front pairing of Forlan and Suarez can show Argentina and Brazil how to get it done. Join me if you're around this evening.

Here's the team news out of San Juan tonight:
Uruguay: Pereira, Lugano, Victorino, Cacares, Perez, Rios, Lodeiro, Cavani, Forlan, Suarez.
Peru: Fernandez, Revoredo, Acasiete, Rodriguez, Vilchez, Balbin, Guevara, Cruzado, Advincula, Yotun, Guerrero.
It's a very familiar line-up for Uruguay who made it all the way to the World Cup semi-finals with the goalscoring prowess of Forlan and Suarez and the stalwart defensive duties of the likes of Lugano and Cacares. I seem to also remember that Cavani was the super-sub off the bench who nodded home some crucial goals last summer. Strong side.
Big News out of Argentina
Carlos Tevez has handed in a transfer request
The 27-year-old said he cannot continue to live in Manchester without his two daughters Katie and Florencia.
"I need to be closer to them and to spend more time with them," Tevez said in a statement.
More to follow.
Did you see that the video won't work on my post?
Evening, mate. How's your 4th of July celebration going? It's been beautiful here in WNY.
I did hear that about Tev. Of course Citeh are looking to replace him with Ronaldo. How's that going to sit with you?
I did see that. Do you want me to replace that link?
I've got Eurosport coverage working right now. They're on news right now but I'm hoping that it'll switch to the Copa in a moment or two.

Why would you go to Citeh instead of coming back to United!!!!
Sure, replace it.... I failed again
A lot of the links aren't on the match, so I've settled on this Portuguese language one that is at least pitch-side at the match:

Btw, no coverage of the match on Univision. They are showing the later one with Mexico, but I'll be at the fireworks at that point.
I've replaced the link, mate. It's working again for you.
Teams out on the pitch now. We're about to get underway.
What else has Ronaldo got to win at United? He's got the lot - FA Cup, title, Champions League - why bother?
At Citeh, he can not only grab a huge pay packet but also put a new side on his back and take them to similar glory. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at Eastlands. He's obviously not happy with the Mourinho way at Real.
Peru get us underway in this first half. Let's have some goals, lads!
Rugged stuff from Peru and Uruguay have an early chance for Forlan to swing a ball in.
Lugano is the target but it's knocked out.
Oh - close call there. Forlan took the corner. The ball came back to him and he stuck a delightful ball across the six yard box. Keeper did well to keep his eye on it.
So far, we've had three goals in the opening 360 minutes of footie in Groups A and B. Colombia are top of Group A followed by Argentina and Bolivia on a point each. Costa Rica on the bottom. Group B has four sides locked on a point each after two goal-less draws.
I'm quite liking this Brazilian coverage. The commentator is clearly at the match and he doesn't feel the need to fill up the space. Nicely punctuating the action, getting excited about things when necessary. I'm hoping they've got the psychedelic echo machine effect all cued up for the goals.
Forlan floats another free kick over but the Peruvians seem to have his number on those. Ten minutes gone and no real chances of yet. Have goals been banned in Argentina?
Oh - that was tight. Guerrero went on a scintillating run and was upended just outside the box. One or two more steps before falling and he might have got the pen.
Suarez pulls the trigger from long range but it's well wide.
Half way through this first half and the goal drought continues. I suppose the penalty takers should get some practice in for the later stages.
GOAL! I spoke too soon. Paulo Guerrero has opened the scoring for Peru. He looked a mile offside when the long ball was played over the top. He took his chance well, rounding the keeper and slotting home.
1-0 Peru!
The Peruvian defense have really nullified the front three for Uruguay. They couldn't be stopped last summer!
Oh - nice cross in from Forlan and Victorino wasn't a million miles from that. Corner.
Neat one two there between Cavani and Suarez but it just didn't come off.
GOAL! Suarez levels it right on the stroke of half time. Great time to score.
1-1!
The ball came loose in the area there and the Liverpool striker made no mistake. Great finish.
And there's the whistle. Wow - well, at least we got a couple of goals there with the sweat.
1-1 at the interval.
We're back on for the second half.
The umpteenth corner for Uruguay taken as usual by Diego Forlan.
Half way through the second half now. No breakthrough yet.
Nasty one there by Vilchez sets up a tasty free kick here for Uruguay. Forlan's behind it of course.
It clips the wall and goes out for a corner. Well defended.
Cavani's had a quiet night and he goes off to be replaced by Rodriguez. Lodeiro's night is over to. It's a roll of the dice for Uruguay. They're desperate for the win.
Free kick to Peru now. Fizzed low but gathered well by the keeper.
Inside the last ten minutes.
Bit of argybargy now between the two sides. Yellow cards all round.
Oh - Guerrero goes mighty close with a near post header. Should have made the keeper work there.
Into stoppage time, then. This one looks destined to end up a draw as well.
Final result - 1-1
It's the fourth draw in five matches. Colombia must be delighted - they're the only ones who have won a match!
That's it from me tonight - I'm on my bike to get down to the lake by the time the fireworks start.
