Up the Tangerines!
We had a minor blip with a 4-1 win on Saturday, but I'm hoping that we'll be back on track with my Sack Warnock scheme with a right thumping for Warnock's Evil Leeds at the hands of Blackpool this evening. Oh - and there's the slight matter of a CL semi-final between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich - no big whoop. Join me for all the Sack Warnock action from 2:45 pm onward.

Ruddy Norah - there are some proper footballers on board this afternoon, at least in the Champions League. Not a Michael Brown or Danny Pugh in sight.
Here's the team news:
Bayern: Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Badstuber, Alaba; Luiz Gustavao, Schweinsteiger; Robben, Kroos, Ribéry; Gomez
Subs: Butt, Olic, Rafinha, Pranjic, Müller, Conteno, Tymoshuck
Real: Casilla; Arbeloa, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Coentrao; Xabi Alonso, Khedira; Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo; Benzema
Subs: Adan, Kaka, Granero, Marcelo, Albiol, Varane, Higuain
Ref: Howard Webb
I got both the Gillette Soccer Special and CL links going on First Row. I reckon I'll follow the GSS audio while watching the match.
Marvelous atmosphere tonight in the Olympic Stadium. Teams about to come out to the anthem.
Great roar of "Bay-ern, Bay-ern, Bay-ern" going up at kick-off.
I would not like to be one of the Bayern defenders having to face the likes of Benzema, Ronaldo, Ozil, Alonso and Khedira tonight.
Kick off time!
Good afternoon BD. Is that the heading because tangerines are your favorite fruit?
There is link for Bayern vs Real, but why is the only other link for Leicester vs Burnley? Is that really the best match in the division this evening?
Jeff will be bitterly diosappointed to hear that the Scunny Reserves lead the Hartlepool Reserves 4-1.
That is a final. Jeff will be fuming.
Oh - Benzema with the first chance as he's put through by Ozil. Great shot and save there by Neuer.
Sotton have taken the lead at Posh, who let Billy Paynter score twice on Saturday.
Afternoon, MUR! I am indeed thirsting for a tangerine victory this evening.
I thought you were on the Gileete Soccer Special. I will switch to the CL semi.
Is it that sweet citrus taste?
I'm not sure even an avid fan like Jeff Stelling is that concerned about the prospects for the Hartlepool reserves.
I've got both of them up. Audio for GSS and video for the match.
It will be sweet if Blackpool get an 8-0 win today.
Bayern is playing like the away team.Isn't Robben a formeReal player?
My audio is not working properly so in reality I have to make a choice.
It should unless there's another fantastic performance from Billy Paynter. I guess you don't want the final score of the Barnet Youth Team vs the Evil QPR Juveinile Delinquents.
Handbags between Robben and Coentrao.
Kick-off time at Bloomfield Road. The teams:
Blackpool: Gilks, Baptiste, Eardley, Crainey, Evatt, Ferguson, Angel, Phillips, Lua-Lua, Taylor-Fletcher, Ince. Subs: Dicko, Sylvestre, Ormerod, Halstead, Harris
United: Lonergan, Lees, O'Dea, Bromby, Robinson, Snodgrass, Clayton, Pugh, Webber, Paynter, McCormack. Subs: Connolly, Bruce, Becchio, Forssell, Nunez
Sotton lead 0-2 at Posh and Watford lead 0-1 at Brighton
Big decision there for Webby. Decides against a pen as Ribery goes down too easily.
A disgraceful dive by Ribery , who should have been booked by Webbie even though Sergio Ramos and the Real players need to keep their mouths shut about it.I don't blame them for being upset.
GOAL! Ribery for Bayern!
It came from nothing, really. Real made a mess of the corner and when the ball came back out, Ribery hammered it home.
1-0!
GOAL !!! 1-0 BAYERN AS THET SCORE OFF A CORNER !!!REALLY POOR REAL DEFENDING WITH A USELESS CLEARANCE AND RIBERY SCORES EVEN THOUGH CASILLAS SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER.
It looked like it went under Casillas' body and keepr of his quality should do better.
Soton are 0-2 up now against Posh, who clearly are having a defensive melt-down at the moment after allowing Billy Paynter to score a brace.
Aldershot lead Swindon 1-0
LOVELY JUBBLY!
Crawley lead Northampton 1-0.
Jonno will not be pleased about that score as the Hammers were trailing Sotton by three points.
Oh dear - Aldershot have taken the lead against presumptive promotion favorites Swindon. Paolo won't be happy.
An uncharacteristically poor free kick from Ronaldo there.
Decent free kick from Ronny. He got just a little too much height on it.
That is why I am pleased to see Aldershot leading.
The Special One will be furious at the school boy defending from the corner. It looked like something out of an AYA match.
Evil Cardiff have taken the lead vs Derby COunty as the lights go mout in my classroom
I didn't really expect this strong a performance from Bayern.
The kights are back on as the Evils are looking to cement a playoff spot.
No doubt a coincidence between the darkness in your environment and that Cardiff lead.
Me either. They are really fired up.
The Cardiff lead took place first and the darness followed. The lights are back on as The Evil QPR Youth won 1-2 at the Barnet Youth team.
Just wide by Schweinsteiger
Watford have taken the lead at Brighton. Things are unraveling for the Seagulls after a useful start to the season.
Crawley lead Northampton 2-0.
That Cardiff goal has also lifted Evil Leeds into 13th. I do not like it.
Great Real break and shot over by Ronny.
Shocking behavior from Derby County as Clough Jr's lads need to learn how to follow a script
Badstuber is booked for a foul, but that is harsh as Di Maria made the most of it.
Yellow card for Badstuber for a bit of "badstubering" on Ronaldo there.
Another rubbish free kick from Ronny. He doesn't seem to have his magic boots on tonight.
The free kick from Ronny is deflected straight to Neuer.
The Hammers have taken the lead at Bristol City. They still trail Sotton by three points as they lead at Posh.
Hey Boys...we meet again!!
I am here after work and looking for a Soccer Special Link... do you have one?
BLOODY HELL! Bristol City tie it up immediately.
Good afternoon UWS. I am at work on the usual firstrowsports link watching Bayern vs Real.
Bristol City tie it up against West Ham
Cardiff lead Derby and Forest have started well against Reading but still goalless
Wow, Southampton are already two up at Posh... they deserve to go up
Bllody Hell. Ronny goes down easier than a stack of dominoes. Idiot Webbie.
Hiya, UWS - here's the link for GSS:
http://www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/119535/1/watch-gillette-soccer-special.html
Neuer punches out after a header from the free kick taken by Xabi Alonso.
West Ham are currently holding Bristol - gossip, not score report, of course.
That seemed like a joke of a booking on Robben for a minor foul on Coientrao. It seemed like he just barely missed the ball and it wasn't that high of a challenge.
BOOM BOOM, BD.
Pompey lead Palace - that would be a great result if it holds up. But they desperately need a Hammers win.
Hull City take the lead vs Brighton and Pompey take the lead vs Palace.
UWS WILL BE DELIGHTED.
Yes... POMPEY ARE LEADING against Palace
That is true. They do really need a Hammers win.
Great save by Casillas.
I heard Webbie is dishin g out card for any little offense because he has stock in Hallmark. Is that true?
PLAY UP POMPEY!
COME ON YOU HAMMERS!
Pompey are four points behind Bristol City
I have to depart now as class is satrting. I will try to cime in with the odd comment in thge second half. It was great chatting .
Take care MUR... we were all together for a cozy five minutes!
I have college tonight too
Hull two up against Barnsley
Barnsley are completely safe
Forest will be safe if the scores stay the same
Free kick chance for Bayern just outside the D
Into the wall
Half time in Bavaria... the hosts lead 1-0
Half-time at the Olympic Stadium.
1-0 Bayern - a shocking scoreline to my mind. Real haven't been at it yet.
Birmingham have scored from their first attempt at goal at the 45 minutes... it was all Ipswich!
That would confirm the Blue Noses in the playoffs
Why shocking?
Bayern are good?
Goal at Brighton.. to Watford 2-0...Brighton's playoff hopes are fading as fast as Leeds!
Southampton take their two goal lead at Posh to half time
West Ham and Bristol City all square at half
Pormpey need to win all their games to have a chance of surviving
After Palace, they host Derby and then visit Forest.
They could do it!
Bristol City host Barnsley and visit Burnley
I would think they could beat Barnsley and will be safe... bugger
Coventry have Donny at home and that away at Sotton.
They look doomed
I hope Sotton do the same as Villa did against Ipswich back in 81
Ipswich win at Villa Park and think they are champions.. they then go and lose at home in front of us to the Arse and lose the league
Let's hope Sotton lose to Reading but still win it all
One goal from Forest would put Southampton on top
Sotton play away at Boro and then host Coventry
Ronaldo misses a sitter but Ozil puts Real level!
Swindon have a penalty at Aldershot.... they score.. they're going up!!
Reading host Palace and then visit St. Andrews
Palace hit the post... knock it off Eagles!!
I hate teams going down after getting deducted 10 points... They would have 50 points right now
Penalty to Coventry.... saved!!!
Merse says it is definitely West Ham to get the next goal... watch City take the lead!!
YES... POMPEY ARE TWO UP
Goal at Posh... to Sotton.. three nil
Swindon are now losing again!
Even if Swindon lose today, they will still be nine points up on 4th and a HUGE goal difference advantage
Brighton get an early goal in the second half but still trail Watford 2-1
Cardiff double their lead against Derby
York lead at Cambridge despite being down to ten men... York are trying to get into the playoffs.. sadly the U's aren't
Come on Forest... score at Reading
Still 0-0 at Bloomfield Road - Come on, you Tangerines!
Goal at Ricoh... to Millwall!!
Not good for Coventry.. they were a top tier side for years!
Pompey go above them
Merse says chances of Bristol City scoring is not in a month of Sundays
Barnsley get a goal back at Hull
Bugger... Palace score a penalty
Squeaky bum time for the fans at Fratton Park
Goal at Portman Road... to Ipswich... a well deserved goal apparently
Super Sub Le Fondre has come on for Reading.. he scored two at St. Mary's last match after he came on
What a big match at Ashton Gate
One goal by Barnsley would relegate Portsmouth and Coventry and promote Reading ALMOST promote Sotton
Hull are there one up to Barnsley
Gomes down in the box but no penalty given by Howard Webb
Martin Atkinson is the official at the goal.. HOW IRONIC after Wembley
Brighton tie it up against Watford... Desmond
Posh get a goal back against Sotton 1-3
Goal at Bayern... Gomes with a goal at the front post from a good cross by Lamm
Handbags at Bayern... nasty tackle by Marcello
Just a yellow for Marcello
Bayern have won 2-1 in the first leg of the Champions League
Hull beat Barnsley
Cardiff beat Derby
Ipswich have drawn with Brum... Brum are not promoted yet
Goal at Bloomfield Road... TO BLACKPOOL... seven minutes to go
Southampton have won at Peterborough
Full time at Ashton Gate
1-1
Pompey and Coventry are safe for another night
Swindon lose and are not Mathematically promoted...well their goal diff will not be caught
Goal at Reading ... to the HOSTS.... THEY"RE minutes away from the Premier League
Hello UWS . My students are working on an assignment and I see that Bayern and Pompey have won. Bristol City drew with the Hammers, so Pompey live to fight another day.
End to end stuff at Fratton Park in the 5 added minutes
All over at Fratton Park... they are still alive
Five points behind Bristol City with six available
I see Blackpool is defeating Leeds and of course BD will be delighted.
Pompey need to win their remaining and hope Bristol City lose their remaining two. It looks like the playoffs for the Hammers.
Leeds are now down to ten men... they're just plain dirty!!
Gomez's winner was in the 90th minute
I still think it's advantage Real as they scored that away goal. Leeds seem to think this is the Revie days and it's not . No more Bremner or Hunter.
Hey MUR
Brighton and Watford end at Desmond
O'Dea is the latest red card for dirty dirty Leeds
Hey UWS. It's like they're going back to the dirty Leeds of the 70s. It's Evil Warnock's side . Would you expect any different. They call him O'Dear.
Top of the Championship is as follows if Reading win
Reading 88... up
Sotton 85... point away
West Ham 80
Brum 72
Blackpool 71
Cardiff 71
Boro 67
Hull 65... mathematically alive but need a +8 goal swing
Everyone else... DONE
The Bottom
Bristol City 45 -26
Pompey 40 -6
Coventry 40 -18
Two of these will join Donny in League 1
Did you ever wonder how we texted while I was driving on the interstate?
Blackpool have defeated Leeds 1-0 and Bob will be celebrating yet another Leeds defeat.
Blackpool have beaten Leeds
Almost over at Reading... almost in the Premier League
GAME OVER
READING ARE UP!!!!
How did you text on the road?
CONGRATULATIONS rEADING!
They have defeated Forest 1-0 and have been promoted to the Premier League.
Crowd on the pitch at the Madejski Stadium
They had a rotten start to the season are now up!!
Thousands of fans on the field... goalscorer going off on the fans shoulders
The girls read your messages, I dictated, then they typed.
I am off to college
Take care
TTFN
They are up after a four year absence.
Cheers UWS. Have a great evening.,
Marvelous - I am celebrating another loss for Warnock's Evil Leeds. In his eleven matches in charge, we've had three wins, three draws and six losses for 12 points. That lower half form.
Moreover, I am ashamed to be a supporter of this side for another reason. Darren O'Dea's red card was the fourth (in 11 matches, mind!) of Warnock's reign, with reds for Michael Brown, Tom Lees, and Paul Robinson. And by all accounts, Danny Pugh's leg breaking tackle against Derby should have been a fifth. Disgusting behavior from Warnock. He's got to go.
I hate to say this BD but NW is going no where!
He has already made it perfectly clear that these aren't his players and most will be out the door at the end of the season..."it's not my fault"
He already wants to bring in Paddy Kenny AGAIN
Either hop on board or come over to the other side of the Pennines and join us at Old Trafford!
Paddy is welcome but we need a taxi pronto for Warnock. The Square Ball bulletin board suggests that Warnock is wearing out Bates' patience. He was on the touchline egging players on to "Get Stuck In!" today, with the result that O'Dea got himself sent off, which means a club fine. Bates not happy.
Oh - and one more thing. I did the calculations on Evil Neil's reign of terror at Elland Road. If we replicated that 1.04 points per match over the course of the season, we'd be in the relegation zone. Sack Warnock Now!
I am glad to hear that Bates is not happy... I thought he would stick with him because he is "His man"
