Euro 2024 - The Knock out Rounds Begin!
Morning, chaps! The knock-out rounds are here! This is where the rubber truly hits the road at Euro 2024, with the first eight knock-out matches spread over the weekend. We get going with Italy v. Switzerland. Like a lot of the bigger sides, Italy underwhelmed while Switzerland overperformed. The Azurri looked really unconvincing throughout the group stage, but they do have the habit of creeping through the rounds in major tournaments without really impressing. Then it's on to Germany v. Denmark. The hosts have been one of the most impressive sides in the tournament so far; yet, Germany fans will tell you that there is little confidnce in Der Mannschaft. Denmark led by the inspiring Christian Erickson, have been thrilling the crowds at Euro 2024 when they weren't expected to do much. Enjoy the matches today!

The Italians have been underwhelming again, relying on their steadfast defense and Donnarumma in goal.
GOAL! Frueler finally breaks the deadlock with a volley into the near post after a nice team move.
1-0 Swiss!
Italy are really struggling to hold on to the ball and are resolutely on the back foot, defending very deeply. Now they'll have to play a bit.
On the replay, the deflection off the defender made life harder for Donnarumma, who might have saved otherwise.
I've never seen a more feeble Italian side than this one. They're going out 2-0 without a whimper.
The holders are out. The Swiss go on to meet up with either England or Slovakia.
So, that gives England and Gareth a very reasonable goal. What stands in front of them and a semi-final berth now is Slovakia and then Switzerland. Very doable.
Next up is Germany and Denmark from the difficult side of the draw.
The teams for this afternoon's match:
Germany - Neuer, Rudiger, Raum, Kimmich, Havertz, Kronos, Musiala, Schlotterbeck, Sane, Gundogan, Andrich.
Denmark - Schmeichel, Andersen, Vestergaard, Maehle, Christensen, Delaney, Hojlund, Eriksen, Olsen, Bah, Hojbjerg.
