Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Rooney Scan Pushed Up!

The BBC is reporting today that the scan on Rooney's foot has been pushed up to June 7th. This could either mean that he's recovering more quickly than expected or that they might want to rule him out more quickly in order to draft a replacement in before the 24 hour period elapses. Your thoughts, gents?

I think it is a little of both. How is that for sitting on the fence.

Typical ManYoo waffling. Next the Gooner is going to chip in with "I'm afraid I cannot comment as I didn't see the incident." Sheesh!

No, my two cents is that he's knackered. He's going to be withdrawn from the WC this time. I don't know why they don't just draft in a healthy bod.

Bob's been saying all along that that it's a strategy to just hold off using him until it gets a bit hairy in the 2nd round, but it's pretty evident that he's got a serious injury and the Old Trafford Kremlin has decided to protect their investment.

It's disappointing but I'd be very much in favor of that if it were TH14.

Well, no one at Lancaster Gate is listening to me. They're doing their own inscrutable thing right now.

My suggestion was that Sven go public right after the initial injury with the statement that Roon is crocked until the quarters. That would have taken the media focus off the kid. But no...they've allowed the "will he?" "won't he?" headlines to continue to overshadow England's preparations for the games. Shame that.

Apparently the news out of the England camp today is that Roon is "running, turning and even kicking balls" in training. Is this reason for hope for a mere dream?
