Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Good Morning everyone.
It is Goalless at Wembley at half-time. A cagey affair by the sounds of it. Come on 'Arry, get them going!!
In the Prem, an important one has already started. As expected, Rafa has put a reserve team for Costa but surprisingly, Arsene has done the same for The Arse.
Goalless after half an hour.
Of course, we are all going to keep an eye on Leyton Orient's game with Leeds. Come on you Whites!!
I will be here all morning except for the 9:45 to 10:30 window. My youngest son Jon has an game for Rec Soccer.
He has scored 2, 3, 3 and 2 in his last four games.
His new nickname is Jonaldo
Liverpool have scored!!!
Crouch has the goal.
They have reached the half time.
AND... POMPEY HAVE SCORED
Kanu after 54 minutes.
Brother Tony still can't sign on.
Shame, he could keep us up to date with the Semi
Pompey less than 20 minutes from the Final.
Weren't they my pick for the Cup at the beginning of the season? I know they were last year.
The Baggies hit the crossbar but Pompey escape
Second half starts at the Emirates.
No changes from either reserve team.
I don't understand why Wenger has not gone for this. The league is still a possibility.
Pompey ten minutes away.
Scunthorpe and Wednesday have drawn in the Championship.
Not good news for Pompey's neighbors.
Southampton are in BIG trouble
Kanu is being taken off as 'Arry is closing up shop
Crouch has a chance to make it two but tamely heads into the keeper's arms.
Bendtner goes down and scores the equalizer for the Arse.
Into injury time at Wemberley!!
Adebayor coming on for Arsenal
POMEPY HAVE DONE IT!!
Many congratulations to Portsmouth.
They are in the Final!!
Now go and win it!!
Stevie G has come off the bench for Costa
Morning, Dave! Well done to Pompey.
Why don't you send Tony another invitation email and have him go through the registration process again. Or I can do it if you send me his email again.
Arsenal equalize through Nicklas Bendtner. He's made up for that goal-line clearance in mid-week.
Into the last 20 minutes in North London
Morning Bob,
I don't know how to do it.
Can you?
Right, if you're reading this Tony, I've just sent you another sign-up invitation. Sorry to put you through this, but if you sign up again, you should be able to post. I don't know quite what the problem is, but this should be a solution to it.
Have you sent Debby a sign-up invitation, Dave?
"Full credit to West Brom - they outplayed us at times and we struggled to pass it like we can. But this is a dream for me, my family, the club and our fans. It's a special achievement."
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp on Match of the Day
Dave, if you go to the dashboard and the click on "Settings" it will take you to a page with a menu at the top. Click on "Permissions" and it will take you to a list of all of the LOB members. At the bottom, there's an empty box where you can plug in an email address and send. Want to do that for Mike and Debby? The more the merrier, eh?
Nope
I am off to footer, I will be back for the second half of The Toon match
See you later, Davey.
Liverpool and Arsenal have finished 1-1, which will make Davey a happy chappy. I predict another 1-1 draw at Anfield on Tuesday....and penalties.
FSC are showing Newcastle vs. Reading this morning. Why? There are very few sides in the Premiership that have nothing to play for at this point, but this game features two of them. Should have been Citeh vs. Chelski.
Right, off we go with the 3 p.m. kickoffs.
Come on you Whites!
Southend have an early lead in their clash with Crewe in League One as they continue their push for a play-off place. Lee Barnard is the man on target.
Southend have an early lead in their clash with Crewe in League One as they continue their push for a play-off place. Lee Barnard is the man on target.
Fulham desperately need a win at Sunderland today if they have any hope of staying up.
Nicolas Anelka's cross is turned into his own net by Richard Dunne to give Chelsea a 1-0 lead against Manchester City. Chelsea now two points shy of United.
Dimitar Berbatov grabs another goal as he turns home Jermaine Jenas' cross to give Tottenham a 1-0 lead against Blackburn at Ewood Park.
Ashley Young storms down the left flank and sees his lofted cross headed into the back of the Bolton net by Gareth Barry. Aston Villa lead 1-0. Bolton surely are doomed now.
Plenty of goals already in Division One. Port Vale are doing us some favors against Brighton. Doncaster are one down again to Huddersfield. Shame that Tranmere are one up to Walsall. We need a draw there.
Ryan Taylor runs onto Antonio Valencia's cut-back and fires home to give Wigan a 1-0 advantage against Birmingham.
Lovely goal there for Oba Martins, slowly slotting under Hahneman to put Newcastle in front.
James Walker doubles Southend's lead against Crewe as he calmly fires the ball past Alex's keeper Ben Williams.
Cheltenham have taken the lead against Forest. I can't really complain about these scores.
James Beattie has a hat-trick! The Sheffield United striker diverts Michael Tonge's cross home to give the Blades a 3-0 advantage against Leicester.
Nearly a second goal for Newcastle with a header from Owen that's just tipped over.
Junior Agogo quickly pulls Nottingham Forest level against Cheltenham in League One. Shame.
David Bentley's cross is turned home by Morten Gamst Pedersen to pull Blackburn level against Tottenham. Spurs had been on top in that match.
YEEEESSSSSS! Bradley Johnson has popped in a goal for us at Orient. It's 0-1 and the away form continues. The clock seems behind at that match and I'm wondering if there was a delayed start at Orient for some reason.
I am home.
Jonaldo's team won 5-3 but he only scored one!!! He's in his room!
From 365: "Leeds have the lead at Leyton Orient. Bradley Johnson was the man on target in a match that was delayed by 15 minutes due to crowd congestion." That explains it.
Is he as floppy as Ronaldo or does he stay on his feet?
Congrats for Leeds.
I heard on Skysports news that Gary Mac have had them playing quality attractive football.
I am, obviously, happy for the score at the the Emirates but not pleased with Citeh's score.
How have Newcastle played?
I want them to continue their good form. They play Chelsea soon.
Owen should have scored Newcastle's second there. This has been end to end stuff, possibly because of the lack of meaning to the game.
Chelski are so lucky
1535: Three City chances in quick succession against Chelsea as Stephen Ireland's close-range shot is blocked by Juliano Belletti's outstretched leg, before Carlo Cudicini tips over Martin Petrov's effort at full-stretch. Seconds later Michael Johnson's deflected shot is cleared off the line by Ashley Cole. Manic.
Damien Johnson's ugly off-the-floor challenge on Kevin Kilbane sees the Birmingham midfielder dismissed by the referee. Wigan are 1-0 up in that match.
Newcastle have been the better of the two sides but both of them are playing attractive, attacking football.
Just saw that Southampton are beating Bristol City. Not good news for City but priceless for Sotton
Yeovil have scored against Carlisle and this really is a day of good scores for us. If Walsall could just pop in an equalizer against Tranmere, we'd be in dreamland.
Birmingham are losing and down to ten men.
Brucie will be pleased
I haven't heard anything from Tony. Did he get my invitation email?
Nice strike for Butt
and then OWEN scores again!!
Owen - 2-0! He's really on a string of scoring. Good old Mikey!
Forest have taken the lead again
Again, I want the Toon to win the rest of their games... especially at home to Chelski
Newcastle are playing carnival stuff now, with Viduka trying a half volley at the 18 yard line.
I like the three up front
Bugger on the Forest score.
Fulham have fallen behind to Keano's men
Cambridge are winning hat half time.
I want them back in the league
These shirts look the same from a distance. I thought that was a good pass from Martins.
Half time at St James's and Newcastle are in great shape.
Fulham are doomed.
Yes! Walsall have equalized and we're back up into the play-off spots again.
Hey, the Villa game on at Noon isn't live
Right, there isn't a 5 p.m. kick-off game today for some reason. Are we getting Boro vs. United tomorrow?
The Leeds game is still on-going due to that delayed start. We're dominating, with seven shots to their two.
I guess it is because of the the early game at the Emirates AND the Semi Final was on already.
No, we don't get the Boro United game. We do get the second semi though
Get a second goal then!!!
This is from Tony
I can't seem to get anywhere with the invite .
I don't really understand what to do . Is my user name chelskilad
or totonociny ??? I tried but it won't recognize my password .
Explain exactly what I have to do .
Good goal there from Crouchie. He definitely deserves a starting spot in the Liverpool line-up.
Tony's going to have to start all over again with the process, unfortunately. I think he can still pick chelskilad as a user name.
Come on CITEH!!!!!
Forest have scored a third goal early in the half
Leeds have finally reached half-time at Orient. Still 0-1.
Barnsley vs. Cardiff? No thanks!
Citeh have dominated the last half hour. Let's get a goal... BLUE MOON!!
Martin's looks on form
We need a Viduka goal.
Doncaster have equalized.
Tony might try signing in with his email address and password, just in case.
Hello guys !
Lets hope this works
It's good to see Old Badger Head sticking with his principles - three strikers bombing away.
Hey Tony, It worked! Well done, lad!
Cambridge have scored again. Of course they are playing the Derby of the Blue Square.
Bugger Chelski have scored a second
They scare me
Sunderland have scored number two.
Wigan have as well
Michael Chopra's volley over the head of Kasey Keller doubles Sunderland's lead at Craven Cottage against Fulham.
Hey Tony,
Welcome, just in time for Chelski's second.
You can't want a boring team like that to win the league!!!
Salomon Kalou with Chelski's second. Tony's a happy chappy then.
Villa have scored number two as well
1617: Chelsea are running riot at Eastlands as Joe Hart tips Nicolas Anelka's header on to the bar and recovers to paw away the rebound with the Frenchman lurking.
At least they play some strikers up top, none of this relying on wingers and midfielders to score.
Pompey really were rubbish . But
it's the result that counts .
How did I get back on , or should
I say why did it stop in the first place .
Great goal from The Toon.
Great passing by Martins and Viduka.
All three front men on the scoresheet.
There's your goal from Fatty Vidukes. Newcastle 3-0 up.
Watford have been pegged back. No one wants to win the Championship
Were WBA the better team or were they crap too?
Honestly, I don't know Tony. This Blogger system has lots of kinks, unfortunately. For about six months, Dave kept getting bumped off at about the forty minute mark. They've got some automatic anti-spam controls built in that I can't convince the administrators to take off. But glad to have you back with us. I reckon that if you sign in with either your user name or email address and password you should be good.
Villa have score a third. Are the bottom three already doomed?
Pompey have got to be favorites to lift the Cup this year. Have they won before?
Former D.C. United star Bobby Convey on for the last thirty minutes. He's on a hiding to nothing, isn't he?
Walsall have taken the lead against Tranmere.
Good news
Probably. It's possible that Reading and Brum might get dragged into it but there is an almighty gap between Bolton, Fulham and the rest. Of course, Derby are already gone.
WBA were by far the better team until it got in front of goal . They really deserved something out of the game .
But tough ! Pompey are in the final !
Excellent news!
Leeds have scored again.
Beckford
Play up Pompey!
Are you watching the Grand National Tony? Have any money on it? Who?
Lovely jubbly. He hasn't scored in about a month. That's his 19th, I think. Still might be top scorer in the league.
Play up Pompey, Pompey play up INDEED.
All four semi-finalists have won it before . Pompey won it in the thirties I think .
1625: COMPLY OR DIE WINS THE GRAND NATIONAL.
Pompey won the cup in 1939. There is the famous trivia question... who has held the cup the longest.
Pompey held it through the entire war.
Let's hope there isn't a World War ahead of us!!
I didn't watch it . I had two three
legged donkeys in a sweepstake down at the pub . Can't remember the names
When do Hull and Stoke play?
Just looked it up.
Stoke play Palace on Monday.
Hull must have been playing one of the Semi finalist.
Oh Dear, Ipswich are two down
I forgot about that Dave ! I'll have to use it in the quiz . I hope you're right !
Oldham are three down.
Good news again
Jermaine Beckford does indeed have 19 goals this season. But Swansea's Jason Scotland leads the league with 24.
Yup,
What team has held the FA Cup the longest?
Portmouth, the held it from 1939 to 1946
Southend are still winning but have had their lead halved.
Nice trivia item there, Dave.
"Yes! Finally a Match of the Day where every game is guaranteed a goal!"
moneymayweather on 606
By the way Bob , I meant to say thanks for sorting me out . Glad to see Leeds winning .
I suppose you could say the same thing about Italy, who won the World Cup in 1938 and held it through the war until Uruguay won it again in 1950 against Brazil.
Fulham have gotten a goal back at the cottage
Healey with the goal.
Carlisle have tied it up
No problem, Tony. Glad to have you back on board.
Good trivia Bob,
Italy have held the World Cup the longest!!
Blimey, David Healey scored and he's not wearing green. There's a turn up!
Sunderland go straight down and score!!
In fact Italy won it in 1934 and 1938 so it's even longer .
Even a better point!!!
Watford have taken the lead again
Southend have scored again
You're absolutely right, Tony. 16 years - very impressive!
Was there any coverage of David Beckham's goal and performance for the LA Galaxy on Thursday over in England, Tony?
I didn't know you were blogging for those matches Bob.
I watched the LA game. I missed the Rev disaster.
Doncaster have scored an equalizer
They showed the goals on Sky Sports News . But I didn't see anything on the BBC or ITV .
The Revolution game was ruined by the referee. We actually didn't play half bad. But we conceded an early goal and then the ref sent one of our midfielders off around the 15 minute mark just as we were getting back into it. That turned the match and the rest was a farce.
Wisey in the stands.
I am glad you got rid of him
Villa have scored a fourth!!
Well, that's something. I thought he was fabulous, linking up nicely with Landycakes.
Sotton have scored again.
You know, I think that Gus Poyet was really the brains behind that team. He's the one that I regretted losing the most.
Becks and Landy were equally as bad against the Crapids.
10-man Doncaster have pulled level at Huddersfield thanks to Paul Green's strike. If they claim a point Swansea will have to wait another week to reach the Championship.
I agree, I think that is why Dennis the Menace took the chance to leave.
He knew he didn't have what it took.
I agree, but I think part of the problem on Saturday was that Becks was constantly trying to find Carlos Ruiz. With Ruiz crocked for six weeks, he now has a chance to build a partnership with Landy.
I announced the Doncaster goal yonks ago
I agree with you Bob . I have always rated Gus Poyet . I thought he was great when he was playing for Chelsea
Leeds have still got a lawsuit pending around the 15 point deduction. If we got the points back, we'd immediately be on 79 points, five behind Swansea in second.
Carlisle have scored a late winner
Brighton have lost
So have the Tractor Boys
Apparently Gus is now Juande's translator and spokesman at Spurs.
Sunderland have won
Rovers and Spurs have drawn
Doncaster have drawn
Five Live has just clicked on.
Swansea are losing. They have given away TWO goals in two minutes against Bournemouth
Their game is Citeh and Chelski
I do believe Gus does more than just translate . He must have taken training while Juande was walking around Cambridge .
I meant to mention the vicious graphic that you posted for this thread Dave. The player with the red socks is going in studs-up over the ball, while the one in the white socks looks about to snap off his trailing ankle with another studs-up challenge. Not much of an advert for clean play in the Premiership.
Wigan have won
Chelski have won, they are two points behind United.
Sorry mate
At least Juande doesn't need Gus to translate for him in the Cambridge market - maybe the missus speaks English?
Good point Tony
Spurs draw
Villa won 4 nil
Well that was fun ! Sorry I missed the first half . Will you guys be on again tomorrow ?
I will be here for the United game and the semi
I won't be able to hear or see the United game but I will be able to see the Semi
I am now listening to a full hour of Sports Report. What memories.
Well I will talk to you both
tomorrow . Hopefully this will still work .
Still waiting on the Leeds result.
Delayed half an hour for crowd congestion.
Celtic have lost at home
Talk to you tomorrow Tony.
Good chatting with you two today. Leeds are into stoppage time with Orient now and look home and dry at 2-0. It's another six point win for us against a promotion rival. There is some distance now between us and the clubs below, but it's going to be a steep climb for us to start getting above the other play-off hopefuls.
Cheers fellas.
Talk to you tomorrow
Leeds win it 2-0. Cheers, lads. Talk to you soon.
