Guess who's on top of the Predictions League this morning?! Yes, indeedy!
Here are the predictions for today that I hope will see me top of the charts again tonight:
Bolton 1 Villa 1
Everton 1 Citeh 0
Fulham 1 Stoke 1
Hull 1 Liverpool 3
WBA 1 Sunderland 2
West Ham 1 Chelski 2
United 3 Spurs 0
Meanwhile in Division 1, it's all about playoff advantage for LUFC, now that we're assured a spot. Here's what the race at the top looks like this morning:
1. Leicester 93 (Champions)
2. Peterboro 85
3. MK Dons 81
4. Millwall 79
5. Leeds 78
6. Scunthorpe 72
7. Tranmere 72
Leeds travel to Jeff Stelling's beloved Hartlepool today.
If my predictions come true, here's what the bottom of the Premiership would look like tonight:
14. Sunderland 38
15. Pompey 37
16. Blackburn 35
17. Hull 34
18. Boro 31
19. Newcastle 33
20. West Brom 25
That is, Newcastle would have the opportunity to leapfrog their local rivals with a home win against Pompey on Monday, and to put real pressure on Hull for that £60 million 17th place slot. Even Portsmouth on 37 points wouldn't be entirely safe if they should lose.
Sorry, that should have read Newcastle on 30 points. I'm already be hopeful in assigning three points to them for Monday's match. It's an absolute must win for the Magpies, no doubt.
FSC are setting up the West Ham vs. Chelski match starting in a few minutes. Are you out there, Chelskilad?
Nice big round of applause for Jimmy Neighbor, the Hammers favorite who passed away this week.
And now it's kick-off time...
Good morning Robert
I am here but may be kicked off soon because the cable guy coming to the house
Do you remember Jimmy Neighbour?
I'm having trouble finding a Soccer Saturday link today as there was no early match.
I do indeed. You?
There is a link on VSS at the bottom of the list but it hasn't worked yet
All the East Enders playing for Chelski are getting booed by the Upton Park faithful.
Cheers, mate. Yeah, I'm continuing to try that one. The first link is going straight to Indian Premier League cricket for some reason. No luck on the Pool link either.
Not working yet
Unfortunately, I'm going to have to abandon you for the United match later on. I have to drive some Welsh exchange students to the airport in Buffalo.
Nice weather in London today. And here. How about you?
Great news for you:
Fernando Torres has gone down injured for Liverpool - it doesn't look good for the Liverpool striker. What a blow this would be for the Reds.
Beckford's had an early shot cleared off the line. Good start.
Come on, you Whites!
Torres is back on his feet which is good news for Liverpool and he almost fires his side in front but shoots over from about 10 yards out. Hull 0 Liverpool 0.
Bloody leaks!!
My cable guy is here
Lots of Chelski possession so far at Upton Park. CIA will be pleased.
Get that sorted out.
Sotton have taken the lead
They have a 10 point deduction coming up. They have to escape relegation to have the points count this season. If they don't escape relegation the ten points will be toward next season.
Is that because of what Leeds did a couple of years ago?
Troubled Southampton have taken a 1-0 lead at home to play-off chasing Burnley thanks to Bradley Wright-Phillips. A spot of good news in a bad few days for the Saints.
I'm not sure, but I imagine that we did set the precedent there will Captain Birdseye's shenanigans.
Freddy Eastwood has scored for Coventry against Watford. Both teams are safe for this season.
Richard Wright has saved a penalty for the Tractor Boys. Keano will be pleased by that.
Carlisle have improved their chances of surviving in Division 1 by taking the lead against doomed Cheltenham.
Malouda is just wide with a shot from a sweeping Chelski move.
No goals yet in the Prem after about twenty minutes.
Huddersfield take the lead against Brighton. The Seagulls are right in the relegation mix. Hereford and Cheltenham are already down to Division 2 for next season. It's a choice of two from Carlisle, Brighton, Northhants and Crewe probably.
Kieran Dyer should have scored for the Hammers. Cech saves well.
Lamps fires in a terrific shot but it's well held by Rob Green. This is a decent game here.
Lamps should have scored there. Blasts wide.
Cable Guy is still here
Did you hear the phone call Lamps made to a radio DJ about calling him scum
Brighton have had a good run lately to get themselves out of the relegation zone
Bristol City have taken the lead against Sheffield Wednesday at Ashton Gate.
Leeds would want to get above Millwall to have home field advantage for the first round
No, I didn't hear that story. Was that another Jonathan Ross prank?
My cable is about to go out with the TV hopefully my internet won't go
TV OUT!!
Cable still on
Absolutely, we'd be level with the Dons in third if the Dons and Millwall both lose and we win today. The Dons still have a game in hand, though. They've still got to have Peterboro in their sights.
I'll try to keep you up to date.
No, it was some guy talking about him leaving the mother of his children and them living not the same as his kids
I though Lamps was calm and RIGHT
Here is the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwbEBncB7rc&NR=1
GOAL - FULHAM 1 STOKE 0. First goal in the Premier League this afternoon and it's Erik Nevland - on for the injured Bobby Zamora - who has got it with a smart finish past Thomas Sorensen.
Both of those sides are safe IMHO.
Burnley have equalized against Soton. Not good news for Le Tiss.
Good on Frank.
It really doesn't matter if you guys finish in 3rd or 4th.
You would have the home game second. The final is at Wembley anyway so there is no homefield for the final
Northhampton have taken the lead against bottom of the table Hereford. They've vaulted out of the drop zone.
Fulham have scored the first goal of the day in the Prem against Stoke
You're way ahed of me
True, but I think I'd rather play Scunthorpe or Tranmere, both of whom we've beaten twice, rather than Millwall. Unless they play in the pink kit again!
Worlington's future resident's team has taken the lead at Cardiff
Where have you been, Rip van Winkle?
Excellent - the Tractor Boys survived a penalty earlier. Nice one, Keano!
Listen Big Nose... where do you come from? Nose City?
Kieran Richardson's swerving drive is tipped round the post by Scott Carson. Sunderland are dominating but it's still 0-0 against West Brom.
GOAL - EVERTON 0 MAN CITY 1. Great pass by Elano sends Robinho through on goal and the Brazilian shoots through the legs of Tim Howard to give City a surprise lead.at Goodison Park.
I still can't find SS so I have tuned in Hull Costa
6 to go before half
Boa Morte's going to pick up a yellow for diving in on Malouda.
Citeh have taken the lead against the OTHER Cup Finalist
Don't have Citeh start playing well. We play them in a couple of weeks
Robby with the goal
Just call me Rip again!
Still no goals at Hartlepool coming up on half time. We've dominated proceedings though.
Touchy, touchy, Rip.
Peterboro have taken the lead at Colchester
Brighton have tied it up against Leeds' bogey team
GOAL - WEST BROM 1 SUNDERLAND 0. Completely against the run of play, big defender Jonas Olsson powers a header past Martin Fulop and gives the Baggies the lead. Perhaps a glimmer of hope for Tony Mowbray's side.
What is the Costa team?
Full strength except Stevie?
WBA take the lead against Sunderland
Bournemouth have made a great run to get back their point penalty and are almost safe but are losing to a team below them
That could confirm Peterboro's automatic promotion.
Free kick chance for Cost
Row Zed please!
Mascherano trips himself and gets the free kick
It looks to me as if Aggar, Aurelia and Arbeloa are all being rested ahead of the CL match in midweek.
GOAL - BOLTON 0 ASTON VILLA 1. Ashley Young's cross into the box is missed by John Carew but the ball somehow evades goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen and into the net off the post.
Into the wall but Alonzo buries the ball.
BUGGER
THERE IS NO CL MATCH FOR COSTA!!!
What a lucky awarding of the free kick
GOAL - HULL 0 LIVERPOOL 1. Brilliant goal by Xabi Alonso. His free-kick comes back off the wall but he steadies himself and blasts the ball into the back of the net and Liverpool have the lead.
Oh yeah...der!
Sotton have retaken the lead
So Liverpool on top again on goal difference? For the moment.
You can't breathe on the keeper these days
Come on Manucho, score one to help your real team
Half-time scores in the Premier League: Bolton 0 Villa 1, Everton 0 Man City 1, Fulham 1 Stoke 0, Hull 0 Liverpool 1, West Brom 1 Sunderland 0, West Ham 0 Chelsea 0.
Half time
Bugger
Leeds go in all square too
My cable is about to go off for a few minutes
Nice timing for half time!
The sides are back out at Upton Park. Are you still there, Dave?
Malouda threatens the pie-salesman in the crowd with that shot. Chelski are unlucky that most of the good chances have fallen to him.
I am back
TV and internet on again
Bugger - SS still not working on VSS.
Bournemouth have drawn level
Ipswich has gone two up
Millwall are losing
GOAL - A dream start for new Ipswich boss Roy Keane as David Norris' doubles his side's lead at Ninian Park against Cardiff, 0-2 there.
Chelski have scored
Kalou with the goal
GOAL! Kalou pokes home from a yard out there.
0-1 Chelski!
GOAL - EVERTON 0 MAN CITY 2. Great move again by the visitors as Robinho finds Stephen Ireland with a through ball and the midfielder slots the ball past Tim Howard.
The Tractor Roys are going be Champions next season.
Citeh are two up
Ireland with the goal
That Orient goal against Millwall gives us the home advantage in the playoff as we've gone fourth on goal difference.
GOAL - A vital goal in the Championsip as John Macken gives Barnsley a 1-0 lead over Wolves. That would take the Tykes five clear of Norwich in the bid to survive in the Championship with the Canaries having two to play.
Barnsley beating Prem bound Wolves
GOAL - BOLTON 1 ASTON VILLA 1. It's Tamir Cohen's first start of the season and he has market it with a goal, slotting the ball into the back of the net.
Villa have been pegged back by Bolton
Beckford with the goal!
WELL DONE
Keano's old club are in really deep doo-doo. They've gone 2-0 down at the Hawthorns. Could The Baggies survive!?
YESSSS!!!!! Beckford's 33rd!
0-1 Leeds at Hartlepool. Jeff Stelling can get stuffed!
Hull have gone down to ten men
Costa score their second. Kuyt with the goal
Hull are down to ten men! Caleb Folan seeing red there.
A goal for Walsall would go down really well right about now.
Good save Rob Green - England's #1?
Soton have missed a penalty. Still 2-1 there.
Any luck with SS?
And Walsall have scored! Great day for us with the scores. We're now tied on points for third. The Dons still have the advantage on goal difference and have a match in hand.
No luck with SS - I think Jeff is blocking me today.
A bad day for Everton could just have got a lot worse - Phil Jagialka is carried off on a stretcher with a bad-looking knee injury. Not good news with the FA Cup final just a few weeks away.
Free kick chance for Hull
Peterboro would definitely clinch the automatic spot if the scores stay the same.
That's right it is your fault
Penalty for West Ham
Sotton have been pegged back
Tranmere have fallen behind
Nobile to take... saved
Penalty for the Hammers! Kalou pulled back Ilunga.
Mark Noble to take....
Brilliantly saved by Cech!
Chester City are drawing at Aldershot.
They need to win or they are the ones down with Luton into the BS Prem
Leeds old boy Rob Hulse has secured Championship survival for Derby with a header against Charlton.
Hull get one back!!!
Geovani with the goal
Either a great comeback from Hull or the goal Bob needed for a 3-1 prediction
Luton in the Blue Sky. I can't believe it. Makes you shake your head.
That's right - one more goal for the Pool and I'm in with sixty points there.
Hull are still right in it. They need a couple of wins to be safe. I'm not sure they have it in them. It's going to be a nailbiter right until the end. They haven't won in yonks.
I know
As for the Blue SQUARE, Burton had a 17 point lead and it has been pegged back to 3 points ahead of Cambridge
One game to go
Cambridge at home to 15th placed Altrincham
Burton are away to 5th place Torquay who need to win for a play off place
There needs to be a four goal swing
Doncaster are well on their way to a top-half Championship finish - they now lead Crystal Palace 2-0, James Hayter on the scoresheet.
The highest league finish in about fifty years for Doncaster.
Off the bar by Torres
COME ON HULL
Sorry, Blue Square. Right you are.
Hull are going to have two up front even down to ten men
10 to go
Come on, Fernando. You can hear the drums, mate. One more goal and I'll have JediWisdom just where I want him. He had a draw in that match!
Ha ha!
GOAL - Great comeback by Watford at the Ricoh Arena - they had been 2-0 down, now Tamas Priskin's close-range effort has made it Coventry 2 Watford 3.
Tranmere are all level but with Leeds winning it doesn't mean tosh to the Whites
Millwall have leveled things. They're a point behind us now.
Hull trying to score the equalizer
Tranmere or Scunny - I'd take either. I guess I'd rather have Tranmere there. Scunny might just get up for a local derby.
I think you lot are going to get Millwall but have homefield advantage
Bournemouth have taken the lead against Grimsby but both will be safe if Chester can't win
GOAL - Wolves are on their way to the Championship title! Kyel Reid's low shot flies into the bottom corner, 1-1 at Oakwell against Barnsley. Celebrations for Wolves but Barnsley need the win in their battle to avoid the drop.
Good news there for Norwich.
Wolves tie it up
Hull player rushes Mascherano off
Hull with a corner
COME ON YOU TIGERS!!
Cleared...just
Keep it going Hull
I can always dream. We'll have one more match - the Dons have two.
I think you can beat Millwall
Bugger, there is your predicted third goal for Costa
Stop scoring Costa, we want to catch you on goals!
Five minutes of added time to come at Upton Park.
West Brom are three up against the Black Cats!
Lovely jubbly - Jedi - you're going down, mate!
GOAL - WEST BROM 3 SUNDERLAND 0. Juan Carlos Menseguez comes off the bench to find the net for the Baggies and this is a really sore defeat for Sunderland, just four points above the drop.
The Northeast triple drop is now definitely on!
Bolton 1 Villa 1 Result
Just as you predicted
Tractor Roys have scored a third!
West Brom will be on 28, just two points behind Newcastle, three behind Boro. Sunderland on 35, not safe yet.
Millwall are leading!!!
I didn't see them score the tying goal
Back to fifth?
Great day out for Keano in Wales today. Ipswich are 0-3 up!
Bugger, bugger, bugger!
Yeah, Millwall now up to third, Dons fourth, Leeds fifth.
Cheltenham have been relegated from L1
Peterboro are up to the Championship
Well, we've done the job at Hartlepool - 0-1 one to the good guys. Another clean sheet for the Big Dane. Can ask for more than that.
Costa have won
Well done, Leeds have won
Wolves have drawn.
They are Champions
Yeah, Leicester are champs, Peterboro are second. At the bottom, Hereford and Cheltenham are down. Brighton and Northhants with vital results. They look safe.
Chelsea have won
Three points behind United hopefully for just a couple of hours!
Chelski have won - they're still on the fringes of the title race. Are they certain for third now?
GOAL - EVERTON 1 MAN CITY 2. Surely no more than a consolation for Everton as Dan Gosling nets in injury-time.
Fulham have beaten Stoke
Everton get a goal back against Citeh
Southampton look like they won't avoid relegation this season so barring an apeal, they will start next season at -10
Millwall have won
Bournemouth are save
Citeh hold on
Millwall have won
Bournemouth are save
Citeh hold on
Off to change some switches
Have a good time with the Welsh
Rub it in about Ipswich and Cardiff
Line ups are in for the Old Trafford match
Man Utd:
Van der Sar, Rafael Da Silva, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Ronaldo, Carrick, Fletcher, Nani, Berbatov, Rooney. Subs: Foster, Anderson, Scholes, O'Shea, Evans, Tevez, Macheda.
Tottenham: Gomes, Corluka, Woodgate, King, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Palacios, Jenas, Modric, Keane, Bent. Subs: Cudicini, Hutton, Bale, Zokora, Bentley, Huddlestone, Chimbonda
I hope Berbatov does the business against his old mates
It is about time he delivers for United
Well, you have to admit that Chelski and Pool have done what they needed to do to put the requisite pressure on you lot. Spurs have an awful record at OT. Sets it up nicely.
I'll be around for a few minutes of the match and then I'll have to bugger off to drive the leek eaters to the airport.
Prediction for today, mate?
I'm off, mate. Best of luck today. You won't need it, though.
I'm be around for the Arsenal match tomorrow a.m. Cheerio!
I am back from changing some switches 6 minutes gone
United lose the toss. Attacking the Stretford End
COME ON UNITED
ooh, Bent has a header at the back post and VDS just knocks it wide
Take care Bob
Great cross by Rafael... just over Roon's head
Great run by Berba and it makes it to Roon but he takes too long
Shame
I like that from Berba... more of the same
Roon tries a shot at the half way line.... goes out for a throw-in!
Free kick chance for Ron from Ron distance...dips in front of Gomes but he parries it away
COME ON UNITED!!
LET'S GET A GOAL
Nani goes down on the side line and gets a foul. He first grabs his ankle then decides to hold his head. Surprise... he is okay
Ron has a header goes close... he should have left it for Berba
Another free kick chance for Ron
Knock it Ron, knock it in!!
Into the wall... there's a shocker
Good pressure from United ends up with Roon hitting one over the bar
Berbatov looks like he has having a good game
Mistake in the box and Daren Bent knocks it passed VDS
BUGGER!!!
United have been playing well
COME ON UNITED!!
We were losing one nil in the Cup here and went ahead before half time
Same again please
Two nil to Spurs!!!!
Modric scores at the back post
UNITED ARE IN MAJOR TROUBLE!
Two goals in four minutes for Spurs
We need a goal before half time!
Why does EVERY team play their hardest against United!
United, apparently, don't want this championship
Nice shot by Rafael saved by Gomes. Of course, against some other team he would given a rebound
Free kick chance again for Ron
COME ON.. DON'T HIT THE WALL
Into the wall again but he hits the rebound heading for the top corner and Gomes makes another blinder
Birmingham and Preston are drawing at half. Birmingham needs a win to be promoted
United are phaffing about with it... SHOOT!
United need a goal before half
3 minutes to get it
I would take Nani off at half and bring on Tevez
Lennon is causing Evra so many problems
One added minute has been added
Half Time
Mancester United 0 Tottenham 2
UNITED REALLY NEED TO GET THEIR FINGERS OUT!!
They are out for the second half
As I hoped, Tevez on for Nani
Tevez gets a chance saved again by bloody Gomes
COME ON UNITED
Birmingham have taken the lead
Almost in the Prem
Ron very frustrated with Berbatov and takes out his frustration on Lennon
