Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

I'm at work, but I'll try to follow along through here.
Hoe you all are well.
Good sfterernoon, Someone. Hope you are doing well. We also have Wolves vs Norwich in which another relegation candidate is in action.
Excellent post Bob as the two managers posted are running are close race for that elusive silver medal.
Wolves vs Norwich has just kicked off.The link is
www.firstrowsports.tv/watch/98969/1/watch-wolverhampton-wanderers-vs-norwich-city.html
Morning, chaps - great to have one or both of you about this afternoon for the dogfight. I was very lucky to find that excellent visual through a simple Google image search. Cheers!
Here are the teams for this afternoon big one:
Blackburn: Robinson; Lowe, Samba, Hanley, Pedersen; Hoilett, Dunn, Nzonzi, Vukcevic; Formica; Yakubu. Subs: Bunn, Petrovic, Rochina, Blackman, Goodwillie, Roberts, Henley.
Bolton: Jaaskelainen; Steinsson, Cahill, Knight, Alonso; Mark Davies, Reo-Coker, Muamba, Petrov; Klasnic, Ngog. Subs: Bogdan, Robinson, Eagles, Tuncay, Kevin Davies, Pratley, Boyata.
Referee: Martin Atkinson (W Yorkshire)
Thanks for the link, mate. I think I'll stick to the Blackburn v. Bolton as I'm at work and following both might do my head in.
Wolves nearly as Ebanks-Blake nearly scored off the free kick from Stephen Hunt.
The link for the Blackburn v. Bolton is finishing up coverage of a Bundesliga match with Bochum and Bayern.
Good afternoon Bob. I am work too, but have to leave at halftime of Blackburn vs Bolton as we have been ordered to leave campus by 3 PM CST. At that time I will be officially on vacation.
Superb post and great mug shot of two so called managers.
Here's why this match is so important:
Bolton come to Ewood Park on the bottom with 9 pts from 16 matches and a wretched -18 GD. Blackburn are one point and one place above them on 10 from 16 matches with a -13 GD. It's a must win for both sides and managers. A point - which is my prediction - really doesn't help either.
Andrew Surman had a chance for Norwich, but took too long to shoot.
Really? They turf you out of the building at 3pm for the holidays?!
I am predicting a draw too.Perhaps Keane and Coyle can share their silver medals.
Yes. We are getting kicked out and told not to come in during the holidays. Not that I would.
Norwich are wearing what looks like purplish shirts and white shirts since they clash with Wolves' jerseys.
Great save by Hennessey from Morison. Corner Norwich.
Wolves clear the corner as Berra has some back chat to Martin Atkinson.
If I cover this match and you cover the other then we have complete LOB coverage of the EPL today
GOAL!!!! 0-1 NORWICH AS ANDREW SURMAN SCORES A SUPERB HEADER FROM A SUPERB RUSSELL MARTIN CROSS. WOLVES LOOKED ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS.
Mick may may have to join Messrs. Keane and Coyle in that runners up race.
Another header from Surman is well saved by Hennessey.
Nice one - the Canaries are really doing well this season. One of the issues for long-standing Prem clubs such as these two is that the three promoted sides show no signs of falling into the dropzone as of yet.
Correct. However, Swansea will want to improve their away form.
Bolton get us underway this afternoon. The stadium is rocking and the conditions look perfect.
COME ON YOU PURPLES!
It is a fantastic atmosphere at Molineaux too.
Crofts had a shot blocked after a pathetic Wolves clearance.
I can't really decide between these two sides. I'd quite like to see both of them go down. And add Wolves to that list.
I second that. Sounds good to me.
Blackburn are going with some Rory Delap long throw action now.
The students have just left for the holidays.
I am guessing that Scott Dann did not take the long throw!
The LUFC Academy factor today is 1 - Paul Robinson in goal for Blackburn.
GOAL! The perfect start for Bolton!
Klasnic burst through initially and Robbo should have smothered his first effort. It came back to Davies who slammed home. That should set the match up quite nicely.
I am not sure if Bradley Johson is representing the LUFC academy today
Blackburn fans already starting to whistle and boo a bit. That's not really cricket, is it?
This match has sort of petered out after an exciting start
No - we bought Bradley from Northampton Town in 2008. He's actually an Arsenal youth product.
Morison was put through by Surman , but he was tackled at the least second by Roger Johnson and Berra.
Thank You, BD. I was not aware of that.
Kean is the Scott Arniel of the EPL at this point. Fans have wanted him sacked for weeks.
Surman heads a lonfg free kick from Fox straight to Hennessey.
Chris Samba seems to be playing as an extra center forward at this point.
OH! HOW did wolves not score! Ruddy dropped a cross from Ebanks-Blake and Stepehn Hunt missed an open goal, shooting over.
Tehn Morison heads straight to Hennessey.
I tihnk Samba has been used at cennter forward on past occasions.
This just in via BBC sport twitter.
Liverpool's Luis Suarez has been banned for eight games and fined £40,000by the FA for racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra
Naughton fouls Matt Jarvis on the left as Wolves have looked more comitted in the past minute or two. The free kick is cleared as the fans are pleased with the extra comittment.
The LUFC Academy players currently in the Prem:
Aston Villa - Fabian Delph
Blackburn - Robbo
Citeh - Jamie Milner
Spurs - Aaron Lennon
Stoke - Jonathan Woodgate
WBA - Scott Carson
Just wide by Wes Hoolihan off a long free kick from Ruddy.
Thnks for the update Someone. I think it's a fair punishment and he has been accused of a similar incient in a match vs Fulham. Hopefully, he learns his lesson.
Bugger - there goes the Golden Boot battle for me this season. What a wally!
Zubar is down injured, but booked for a rash challenge. The replay showed it was the correct decision from Chris Foy.
Sorry Bob, but he had it coming.
Wolves now starting to dominate as Norwich have been dfending desperately.
Hey boys,
I am home from work
Sadly, I still have to give my final exam at the college tonight and then I still have THREE more days of school!
Wow about Suarez!
What will Terry get? There was video evidence of him?
So what will John Terry get? It is a deserved punishment for Suarez. Sorry if the golden boot has been taken off the table.
It is like a cauldron at Molineaux.I am pleasantly surprised. Now Stephen Hunt is booked for a cheap shot off the ball. That was poor .
Good afternoon,UWS. I hope JT gets a similar punishment. He should if the EPL is being consistent.
Welcome, UWS! I can't believe your schedule. Why are they cramming the days in now? We haven't had any snow to speak of. Have you had a Snow Day off yet this season?
I don't know about your color scheme but Nowich's shirts are GREEN
I agree - Suarez got a deserved ban. I hope JT gets the same. Fair dues. But I'm crashing and burning in the PPP stakes.
Nope, no snow days
The college was delayed because of Irene though
I will unfortunately miss the second half as we have to vacate the building. Tomorrow will be off and on as Jacquelyn's birthday party is tomorrow.
The screen is off at work. Thanks for the clarification.
I don't think Terry will get the same.. he's the England captain!
Not for long, I hope. He's been in rotten form. I'd probably plump for Cahill and Jags for the starting Euro pair.
I was supposed to go on a field trip tomorrow to Siena College but our principal is an idiot! She picked other teachers to go and is so rude about it... I don't want to talk about it any more!!!
Elizabeth gave me a guilt trip about chatting on my daughter's birthday. I said I could do both at the same time. She said okay.
1-1!!
Wolves score a scrappy goal from Banks-Blake
GOAL !!! 1-1 AS JARVIS HAD NA SHOT BLOCKED AND EBANKS-BLAKE PUT AWAY THE REBOUND . IT WAS A GREAT CROSS BY MATT JARVIS.
Oh dear - sorry to hear that the LOB is coming between you two. Make sure to get the box of chocs in for the holidays, eh?
That is what I feared , UWS. I hope that is not the case with JT.
Kyle Naughton is booked and will be suspended for the match vs Spurs which he couldn't play in anyway because he is on loan form Spurs.
Just over from Steven Fletcher off the free kick.
I am so sorry about the field trip,UWS. I suffered a similar fate regarding a trip to Orlando next month. Your principal sounds just like mine. So sorry,UWS.
It's just tomorrow. Otherwise no problems regarding LOB. Thanks,BD.
Just wide by Fox from long range as Hennessey tipped it around the post.Wolves clear the corner.
Wolves fans want a penalty as Tierney appeared to foul Ebanks-Blake in the box.
Is Zak Whitbread a U.S. International?
Yes. Norwich were all over Wolves at the beginning. Now Wolves are all over Norwich.
So is ours!
It's your fault MUR... you called them PURPLES!!
Two minutes of stoppage time at Molineaux.
Bloody Norah! The git running the First Row page has just switched over to a Serie A match...and then another!
We've got another ADHD case.
Sorry,UWS. The color is off on this screen. I am not at home where the tint is perfect!
What are you watching Bob?
Nearly 2-1 as Fletcher mis-hit a cross from Zubar.
Keep your tints to yourself!
And as I finally get another link up, Bolton have scored again - I totally missed the goal!
Half time at Molineux... 1-1
Halftime at Molineaux and 1-1 in an entertaining match.
Blackburn right up against it now. The "Sack Keane" banners are starting to come out and Bolton fans are giving Steve a round or two of "Sacked in the Morning." Blackburn fans chanting "Keane Out! Keane Out!"
Who would be a Premiership manager, eh?
Is it really his fault?
Someone's singing "There's only one Keano" now. Not sure if that's ironic or whether they want to get Roy Keane in next.
Norwich's goal was a nice header. They are showing the highlights
Blackburn are now rock bottom on 10 points from 17 and with a -15 GD. Bolton are up to 19th with 12 points.
Sorry about the tints. Bloody school computer/monitor.
Just ignore, UWS. He's just cranky because he's going to be sweeping up at school on Christmas Eve!
Coming down to half-time now and Blackburn don't look close to getting back into this match.
Big chants of "Keane Out" now ringing the ground.
Bob hit the nail on the head!!!
I was loading the car as this is my last day of school until Monday January 2nd. Also, Hannukah starts tonight and Jacquelyn's birthday is tomorrow.Quite a busy start to the holiday. Then Elizabeth celebrates Chrsitmas on Sunday wher we will have a nice dinner.
Sooryy about the mess I made and the drinks I spilled on the floor,UWS!
That was a strange backpass from Zat Knight. Bolton are trying to give Blackburn a chance here.
We are having ham. Yes Ham.Any questions?
What's for Christmas dinner, MUR?
I have to bugger off . Great chating as the math dpartment is having a meal at Chili's. I should be able to chat tomorrow.
CHEERS EVERYONE!
HAM!
I'm not sure that meal is going to pass rabbinical muster, MUR.
Cheerio, mate.
I love a bit of Christmas ham. I'm having ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, baked beans, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham and ham.
Half-time and Blackburn are down in the dumps. The authorities are trying to use the tannoy to drown out the "Keane Out" chants and boos but it's to little effect.
Second half underway but I have to take Matthew for Bell Ringing at the grocery store
I'll be back
TTFN MUR
To add insult to injury, it's Fat Sam giving Keane his advice as part of the half-time panel. That's got to hurt.
Cheerio, mate!
We're back on for the second half and for some reason Chris Samba is all smiles. Someone must have told him a funny one in the dressing room. Not so for Steve Keane, who looks like grim death.
We'll see whether Blackburn players are willing to win one for Keano as they kick off the second half.
No changes for either side. I expect wholesale substitutions around the hour mark from Blackburn if nothing changes.
Cor - N'Zonzi nearly got one back there. Blackburn have started well.
That effort might get the home crowd back on track.
I am back
Mark Davies is prone on the pitch now, N'Zonzi cleared him out on the way to that chance.
Welcome back, mate. Still cranky?
If you want a laugh, have a look at this - one of my students showed it in a model lesson for 2nd graders:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBXaupIJHr8
After that initial flurry, Bolton are back in control. Keane better start revising his resume.
Hey brother - what's going down?!
Genius!
What was that vid for???
Now Marcus Alonso looks as if he's crocked. Paul Robinson is going to replace him.
So we'll have Paul Robinsons representing both sides this afternoon. How often has that happened?
My student did a model lesson for her Grade 2 unit on Jobs in the Community and led a sing-song using that vid. We were all cracking up!
Coming up on the hour mark and Bolton are still attacking.
Still no changes for Blackburn.
I can't it out of my head now!
Judges, Lawyers... in the court
Pass that vid along - I want to start a viral trend along the lines of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" or that dramatic hamster vid.
It will never get out of your head. Pass it on....
Norwich retake the lead
The sub, Jackson, scores with his first touch
Under 15 minutes to go
JHJ should cover it for a new album.
Well done, the Canaries!
Simeon Jackson was on the filed for 50 seconds before he tapped the ball in
Two changes now - Rochina and the excellently named Goodwillie are on for Blackburn.
How much time left in that one?
Feed the Yak!!!!!!
Blackburn are back in it - 2-1!
2-2!
Zubar? scores with a lovely header from a corner
Under ten to go
Hoilett fed the Yak there and he was able to dink it over Jask.
Keane almost has a smile on his face.
How much time in your game?
Alright Yakubu. Moyes may not need you but the Rovers surely do!
Lots of goals about today - 7 in two matches!
Still 23 minutes left at Ewood Park. Plenty of time for Blackburn.
The Beeb hasn't updated your score yet.... just did
Wolves almost score from another corner... anyone's game at Molinuex
The Beebs must want Keane out!
Now Ngog has gone down lame. Looks like Tuncay is up off the bench.
My game is end to end
How about yours?
Inside the last five minutes at Molineux
Junior Hoilett seems to be in the middle of just about everything good for Blackburn. Free kick now.
Yeah - it's a great match. Not a lot of quality but plenty of Premiership style cut and thrust.
Now it's Yak again getting the shot off early and it's deflected wide.
All Blackburn pressure now.
Just entering 3 of added time
Wolves get the ball in the net 11 seconds after the 90 but called offside... It was offside but the striker should have stayed onside!
Oh - great break out from the back by Bolton but they just couldn't find the final ball.
Norwich almost go down and score themselves.... neither team is holding back
Less than fifteen minutes left now.
Point blank save by Ruddy and then a shot rifled just wide!
The commentators are loving this match
It ends Desmond at Molineux
Great game but honors shared!
Oh - Hoilett did everything right there but then blasted over.
I have to take the dog for a quick walk in the nippy weather
It's another away point picked up by the Canaries. I think they'll stay up.
You'll have to walk quickly - it is parky out there.
Klasnic if coming off to be replaced by Darren Pratley. Another great name.
Inside the last ten minutes at Ewood Park now. Even if Blackburn were to equalize now, I still think Steve Keane gets sacked in the morning.
That's odd - it's Spurs v. Chelski on Thursday afternoon of all things. It really throws things off when Christmas is on a weekend. We've got dribs and dribs of matches this week and then the full slate on Boxing Day Monday.
It looks as if Bolton have weathered the Blackburn storm at this point. I can't see Blackburn scoring twice in the last five minutes or so. At best, they'll finish with a draw.
This really is a poor result for Blackburn.
Chris Samba has staggered off and Blackburn have already made their three changes. They'll finish this one with ten men.
OK lads, I knew someone would be here. I was skiving just a bit and reading how Joey Barton's decided to start referencing Noam Chomsky in his Twitter feed.
I've just submitted this chant to the Tuesday Club.
"CHIM-CHIMINY, CHIM-CHIMINY, CHIM-CHIM-CHAROO, CHOMSKY HATES BARTON AND SO DOES CAMUS!"
I'm hoping that it gets picked up and sung at the b*****d on New Year's Eve.
Into stoppage time now - four minutes to come.
I am back as four minutes is posted for added time
Nice one, Gooner - I'm not buying that Barton has read any Noam.
Hey Stevie
Nice diddy
Did you lads hear about LUFC picking up an MLS player on loan? I'll let you guess which one.
Bob Dahlgren?
ooh, Bolton almost wrap it up!
Oh - Pratley should have sealed it there. Somehow he contrived to put it wide.
Seconds left!
ooh, Samba should have tied it up
Oh - Samba's staggered back on the pitch and he nearly nodded home the equalizer. Steve Keane knows he's done now.
Was I right?
Bolton win at Blackburn
I'm an MLS play, Dave? I think not. Guess again.
That's it - Blackburn have lost at home to the worst side in the country. Steve Keane is dead man walking.
1-2 Bolton win!
Me neither. But he's referenced the Dalai Lama too so he's got pompous previous. And probably a Sanskrit tattoo from the Ramayana.
You're an american!
Lajak
Freddie Edu
I'm off home, then. Nice chatting with you. I'll be at home for the festivities tomorrow afternoon. You'll be at work, right?
Bwahahahahaha!
What was the answer???
No - it's Columbus Crew forward Robbie Rogers, who should have the Kop faithful tearing their hair out with his mazy runs down blind alleys.
Adam Chistman! Built like the Duke.
