Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Lovely - I'm up early enough to catch Football Focus this morning.
The team news for the Evil match-up:
Cardiff: Marshall, Taylor, McNaughton, Turner, Hudson, Lawrence, Whittingham, Gunnarsson, McPhail, Miller, Mason. Subs: Heaton, Kiss, Ralls, Earnshaw, Blake.
United: Lonergan, Bruce, Lees, Bromby, Robinson, Snodgrass, Clayton, Thompson, Pugh, McCormack, Becchio. Subs: Connolly, Forssell, Nunez, Webber, Taylor.
Referee: M Halsey
No link for that one, so I'll keep watching FF up until the big match time at 7:45.
Good morning BD. I am here to join you on this morning of wicked mornings. Chelsea vs Arsenal is not much better.
It really truly is an Evil morning if there is not a link for Cardiff vs Leeds.
Morning, MUR! Welcome to the evilness. Hope you've got a good breakfast to fortify yourself.
FF is focusing on the "Battle of the Bottom" of the Premiership. It's looking particularly ominous for Blackburn and Wolves. I reckon Bolton because of the Fabrice factor might just stay up and QPR go down. Wigan took a big step forward by beating Arsenal and even Villa aren't out of it yet.
I have a strong cup of coffee to fortify myself. In terms of the relegation battle I believe that Wigan will stay up because on current form they must be the best club in the country. If they played like this all season they would be challenging for the EPL title instead of relegation.
I've shifted over to the preview show on ESPN2 with Ian Darke and no Macca.
What an appropriate name: Ian Darke. It's perfect for this early morning theme.
That is true. How was your week, mate? I barely made it through, but I'm determined to enjoy the weekend.
It was the same here. I had not really recovered from the Dallas trip , then was thrown into a full week of tutoring and teaching so I am pleased it is the weekend. How was your week?
So who do you cheer for in this Evil match?
Yeah - that was the same thing I went through, coming back from Vancouver on Sunday and then pell mell into the week.
BLOODY NORAH! The Blades are really evil as top scorer, Ched Evans , is jailed for five years for rape. They will be looking for a new striker.
I'm cheering for a lightening strike or drone attack on the pitch. A pox on both their houses.
Wow - that's quite a story.
Will FF update us with the score from Cardiff or would we need to watch Soccer Saturday?
We've had four red cards under Warnock so far, so we'll likely end up with nine men and on the end of a 5-0 tonking today.
We'll have to turn to Soccer Saturday for that one. I'm on to it now.
Teams in the tunnel. Can't believe that we were there two weeks ago.
It was a fantastic experience for you and Gooner. I am hoping for a 0-0 draw in the Evil match and no less than ted red cards today.Actually a Leeds win would hurt Cardiff's playoff chances.
WELL DONE JEFF! Great job arsing Le Tiss!
Don't look now - the SS panel is throwing Ashley Young under the bus for diving.
And we're off from the EM.
And we're off at the Emirates.
No. They are grilling Big Nose. Le Tiss , and Tony Gale instead.Ashley should write them a thank you note.
Now they are putting him under the bus.
Hey Boys,
I am afraid I am not going to be around fellas. I am off to Jonathan's footer tournament. I had Matt's last night
I also have Tom's spring game this afternoon and an indoor game for Matt tonight!
Follow that up with two games tomorrow and possibly another indoor tomorrow night..... NICE RELAXING WEEKEND!
Where were you in relationship to the TV cameras?
Here are the line-ups for the big one:
Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Gibbs, Song, Ramsey, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, Van Persie.
Substitutes: Fabianski, Djourou, Santos, Diaby, Coquelin, Gervinho, Chamakh.
Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Cahill, Terry, Bertrand, Essien, Romeu, Malouda, Kalou, Sturridge, Torres.
Substitutes: Turnbull, Ferreira, Cole, Mikel, Lampard, Meireles, Mata.
So only Cahill, Terry and Cech survive from the Barcelona game. That's a bold strategy from Di Matteo.
We were behind the goal to the right that Chelski are attacking now.
Good morning, busy dad. Sorry we'll miss you today. How are you, mate?
I guess we cheer for the Gunners in this match. I know how Gooner feels after we lost to Wigan. Any team that wins at Anfield , The ERM , and defeats United in a ruin of matches deserves to stay up in my book. They have won me over.
Good morning UWS. Sorry you won't be around . You will be missed.
Rosicky tries a pop from distance. Smothered by Cech.
Torres is tackled for a corner.
Are you going for the Gunners today?
Speaking of diving, Kalou goes down and the referee doesn't buy it. Should have booked him as well.
Kalou goes down easily in the box, but it was not the best of challenges from Sagna . Kalou catches it from Szezny.
Oh sure, I've always got a soft spot for the Gunners because of my brother.
Probably so, BD.
Did you see Mancini say that the refs should wear black not red?
It was a dig about United getting all the calls
By the way, are the refs only wearing black this year? I can't seem to recall them wearing yellow, red, green and pink
Chelsea sort of falls into the evil category too.
Chelsea sort of falls into the evil category too.
Always hate the Gunners..... goes back to the '79 Cup Final... bloody Brady to Rix to Sunderland!!
The first report from Cardiff - no goals yet despite a big chance for Snoddy.
The same here. I don't remember a pink sighting. Poor by Mancini.Ross must be the Evil player of the year as he is playing for Leeds and is a former Cardiff player.
oohh, my Golden Boot choice only three goals down.
A hat-trick tomorrow would be nice!
He has been playing like crap
I thought that chance fell to Ross.
That's quite a lengthy grudge, UWS.
Chelski are giving it a right go here.
I agree UWS. I was shattered after we came from two down. If not for Brady , we would have won that final as he was the difference between the sides and rookie keeper , Bailey, who had a great career missed that cross that allowed Alan Sunderland to score that winner.
Would Arsenal say the same about the 1999 FA Cup semi?
Roon just needs a few for dives from his mate Ashley to get him over the line.
A nice training ground routine as Theo curled in the free kick and RVP just failed to make contact.
Oh - huge chance for RVP but he went with it with his wrong foot! Why aren't the best players two footed?
Not nice BD as you take a swipe at United.IS this part of the Evil theme today?
I agree with that statement BD as Romeu hoofs it with an AYA style clearance.
Will UWS cheer for the Gunners today?
Cech easily catches the corner from RVP.
Of course, United beat Arsenal in the 83 semi final at Villa Park
Falling 1-0 down to a scrapping Woodcock goal.. two great goals in the second half won it for United.
Both goals were great goals scored by Robson and then Whiteside
Sturridge made some room but Torres with a horrible cross.
Now Torres crosses straight to Szezny.
I remembered watching that semi too, UWS. or rather the highlights as it was in those days on MOTD.Great job, UWS.
I am in a quandary about today's match
I want Spurs to finish in a CL spot and catch Arsenal but I don't want Chelsea to make it.
NOT SURE!
RVP chipped Cech and it came off the bar, but he was well offside.
I will go for the Gunners , knowing that Spurs have to finally decide to win a match instead of depending on others.
The Verminator shoves straight into the back of JT.
Naughty by Vermaelen on JT, which actually makes it nice.
Naughty by Vermaelen on JT, which actually makes it nice.
Chelsea vs Evil QPR is not exactly a nice match.
Arse really under the cosh now.
Kos cuts out a cross from Malouda for a corner.
RVp blocks a header from Torres for another corner then there is a mad scramble in the box from the next corner and Gary Cahill blasts it well over.
IF United defeat Everton and Citeh then _________________ ?
Malouda has a long range effort deflected off of one of his own players .
Kalou was through and Szezny was well out of his box as Kos came to the rescue. The corner from Malouda was headed out for a goal kick.
Sagna is down holding his head.
it was a clash of heads with Malouda.
Half an hour gone at Cardiff - no goals.
I haven't seen anything go through Alex Chamberlain yet. Arsenal not clicking yet.
Not a goal to be seen in England today, but one in Scotland as Dundee United lead 0-1 at St. Johnstone.
Rosicky is booked for a late challenge on Essien.
Wahay - Evil Cardiff are 1-0 up!
USeless pass from Song, but his teammates didn't exactly help him out.
That will keep us in 12th but a loss today gives Watford, Derby and even Ipswich a chance to leapfrog us.
Joe Mason has given Evil Cardiff the Lead.
The only problem is that it solidifies Cardiff's playoff spot, making it really difficult for 7th placed Middlesborugh
A free kick by RVP was headed out by JT for a corner.
The corner by Ox was cleared , but Arsenal maintain possession.
A great picture of an arsed Gooner.
They say the refs wear black, but Martin Atkinson sure acts like he wears blue.
Malouda went down easily in the box after a great run.
It looked to be a fair shoulder charge from Sagna.
Useless cross from Bosingwa to Cech.
Since UWS isn't here, I'll say it - where's the quality?
Half time at Cardiff - 1-0 Evil.
I haven't seen it meself guv!
Oh - Koscielny off the crossbar!
OH! There it is as Kos headed off the bar from an RVP free kick. That's more like it.
Chelsea win a lucky corner.
Oh JT had a chance there from the corner. As neither side has really been clicking, the goals will more likely come from set pieces.
JT headed inches over from a Malouda corner.
Oh - RVP got free there but blasted his shot straight at Cech.
Straight a Cech from OX when he really should have scored.
It was RVP , not OX. That is correct BD.
Song provided the quality with that superb pass for RVP.
Two minutes of stoppage time.
USelss cross from Sturridge.
Ox wins a free kick .
SS is a minute behind.
Halftime and 0-0 at the EM. Bury lead Notts County 1-0.
Hey Boys,
I am back from a walk and now I have to leave for the tourney
Keep me updated with scores please MUR... I know Bob won't!
Actually, he did well the Saturday we went out his way to watch Tom... he called with Dahlgren Sportscenter. He didn't have texting then but does now but NOWT
Keep me informed
TTFN boys
I will do UWS. Good luck at the tourney.
I wonder why Macca is not commentating with Ian today. It seems to be Robbie Mustoe deputizing today.
Teams back out for the second half now. I'm on Skype chat with Bivalve. Looks like her family might be up for a drive down for the LOB reunion. Brilliant, eh?
The second half is underway from the Em as I have good brekkies cooking.
How is Bivalve. Please tell he I say hello.
Bacon eggs, and toast is cooked. I think Chef Ramsey could pass or at least he would spare me the profanities.
Superb tackle by Vermaelen to halt a Chelsea attack.
Mike Dean books Gary Cahill for what seemed like a minor foul on Ox.
The reporter says that Cardiff is the better side and that Cardiff could have been two up.
Bury lead 0-3 at Notts County. Great news for Carlisle United fans in the fight for the last playoff spot.
Still 1-0 Cardiff at the hour mark. No changes yet from Evil Warnock.
Theo is off for treatment due to a hammy injury.
Bivalve is doing well. I passed on your greetings. Really excited about the reunion now.
Oh dear - Theo seems crocked. Gervinho is coming off the bench.
Theo is done for the day as he has an injured hammy and will be replaced by Gervinho.
Thanks BD,It sounds like an exciting time for Bivalve and family.
It's shaping up nicely. We'll arrive on the Wednesday, match on the Thursday, Bivalve and family will arrive on Friday, big matches on the weekend, and Johnno is set to host on Sunday.
Horrible free kick from RVP.
Abu Diaby coming on for Rosicky.
Becchio has tied it up for Leeds .
WELL DONE WHITES!
Bugger!
That doesn't help my anti-Warnock campaign one bit.
A fantastic reunion. Now we need UWS to come.
Yes - we have to keep working on him.
Sturridge shoots straight at Cech.
Andy Two Saints is on for Ox. That makes no sense whatsoever!
Typical Arsenal. Lots of passes around the box , but can't get off a decent effort.
Can you Adam and Eve it? Franck Ribery was fined 50,000 Euros for punching Robben at halftime in the dressing room?
Really? What an odd moment - teammates punching each other?
Mata's got it in the net but he's been whistled offside.
An ad about betting against your own team and Gregos Traitorelli. I wonder who that might resemble.
That famous Keegan rant. Thanks for the memories Kev.
RVP slipped in the box. Never a pen.
RVP goes down dramatically. Why doesn't he get a second yellow for the dive from Mike Dean?
Useless cross by Sagna.
That only happens in the Nou Camp.
Arsenal fans are delighted as Cashley is booked.
Oh - RVP gets through on goal but it's on his right foot so he blasts wide.
Into stoppage time at Cardiff. Still hoping for a late Cardiff goal.
IS that anti Warnock or pro Ridsdale, LOL?
A couple of late Cardiff subs now.
Ah well - full-time 0-0 at Cardiff. Not bad enough, really. We're in 12th on 61 pts and -2 GD now.
RVP should have scored as he tried to tee it up on his left and Cech easily saved after a great run by Gervinho.Cech easily caught the corner.
It finishes 1-1 at Cardiff. A bad result for both teams. A fair result for an Evil Derby.
Bury lead 0-4 at Notts County and Carlisle United may surpass them for that last playoff spot.
Four minutes of stoppage time from the EM.
I've got an irritating telemarketing call coming through. I love the Time Warner feature that shows you the number right on the screen. I don't even have to get up to look at it.
Great feature. I have that at work and had an annoying call from an insurance agent asking for a completely different person.
Useless pass from Abu Diaby.
Useless pass from Torres on a Chelsea counter.
Bosingwa has a shot deflected for a corner.
That's it - a really rubbish 0-0 draw. I'm hoping for better coming up. Off for a shower.
The corner from Mata is cleared and it finishes 0-0 at the Em.
Cheers BD. Catch you in a few minutes.
BUGGER! Newcastle vs Stoke will be on FSC. Not exactly a classic. Evil QPR vs Spurs is the late match. An Evil match as far as Gooner is concerned.
We're off from SJP.
Classy by Jeff , urging people to watch a Memorial match at Northampton as former player David Butcher passed away at age 29 last year.
Bugger! Andy Keogh gives Millwall the lead at Portman Road.
YESSSS!!!!
Plymouth take the lead vs Oxford.
Swansea take the lead at Bolton as Scott Sinclair scores a spectacular goal. His first away goal of the season.
It is very scrappy at SJP as I expected.
I'm back from a refreshing shower and propping my feet up in front of Newcastle v. Stoke.
Bury win 2-4 at Notts County.
Bolton already in trouble 0-1 down to Swansea.
Welcome back BD. It's a scrappy match. Millwall lead at Portman Road. Andy Keogh scored. Swansea lead at Bolton and Argyle lead Oxford United.
Another Evil Derby as The Fake Dons host the Dons. A really Evil day.
Bournemouth have taken the lead vs Colchester.
Plenty of evil out there in English football, isn't there?
Bog Nose said that Blackburn should have had a penalty vs Norwich.
GOAL! Cabaye finishes off a lovely move to put the Toon 1-0 up!
There sure is.
BUGGER!!! BRISTOL CITY TAKE THE LEAD VS BARNSLEY.
That would relegate Pompey and coventry.
Bolton tie it up vs Swansea.
Great cross over, which Cisse met on the full, it cannoned off the bar and Cabaye merely had to nod home. The Magpies are up and running.
Those are two big clubs to drop down to L1.
It was a great run and cross by Ben Arfa as Cisse headed on to the bar and Cabaye finished easily from close range.
You must be pleased that Argyle are leading. A win and they are basically safe.
2-0 Magpies! Cisse again!
GOAL !!! 2-0 TOON AND CISSE SCORES WITH A GREAT FINISH.
Great ball through from Cabaye to Cisse who had run into space and he slipped it by Sorenson with ease.
Cabaye returend the favor and sent a superb through ball for Cabaye to score with a great finish.
The Fake Dons take the lead vs the Blades in a League One Evil Derby.Alan Smith scores his first goal since scoroing for Man Yoo vs Roma in 2007.
Oh dear - our old boy Smithy has scored for the fake Dons.
Blackpool ,take the lead vs Burnley with a superb long range effort from Stephen Dobbie.
Newcastle are up into a Champions League spot on the strength of those two goals. They're a point better than Spurs I'd luv it if they made the CL.
UWS is not pleased. I texted him. Does Gregos Traitorelli bet against Leeds?
The Owls lead Carlisle United.
