It All Starts Again...!
Saturday is back! Admit it - you've missed it. The early morning bagels and coffee, the dodgy links, the LOB banter. It's all back starting this morning with the early morning appetizer of Leeds v. Wolves, followed by the two FSC matches - WBA v. Pool and Newcastle v. Spurs. Join me to kick off a glorious new season. Remember - at this stage, anything is possible!

I'm back with the requisite bagel and coffee, which means only one thing - the new season is nigh. Only a few minutes away now.
In fairness, Cardiff kicked off the Championship yesterday with a late, late win against our Yorkshire cousins Huddersfield.
The line-ups are in from Elland Road and evil Neil has rolled the dice, giving league debuts to eight new players:
United: Kenny, Byram, Peltier, Pearce, White, Green, Austin, Norris, Varney, McCormack, Becchio. Subs: Ashdown, Drury, Lees, Kisnorbo, Brown, Gray, Diouf.
Wolves: Ikeme, Steadman, Henry, Ebanks-Blake, Ward, Johnson, Jarvis, Zubar, Forde, Doumba, Doyle. Subs: Edwards, Peszko, Hunt, Sigurdarson, Berra, Davies, de Vries.
Referee: T Bates
Wahay - the pre-game coverage has started on this link:

Good morning. I agree with your statements 100%.I would like to add that it is still dark outside and that we had an evil start to the season yesterday as Cardiff defeated Huddersfield 1-0 with a stoppage time winner as the Terriers were without top scorer Jordan Rhodes, who was on international duty with the Jocks and may be transferring to Blackburn.
"Marching on together...." la la la la
Morning, MUR - great to have you on board for the early one. I appreciate the sacrifice of sleep. Evil start to the season, indeed. Let's hope for better today.
Here they come - teams in the tunnel entering the hallowed ground of Elland Road.
LUFC Academy Sam Byram gets his debut at right back today. It'll be good to get a look at this kid. Big things are predicted for him.
Meanwhile, it's about the same side that was relegated running out for Wolves. Matty Jarvis may be going to West Ham this week but he's in the starting XI today.
The coffee is ready and I am here to enjoy the pleasure of your company.
Other than the keeper it looks similar to the starting XI Wolves had in the Prem.
Nice round of applause for all the Leeds supporters who have lost their lives during the summer. I always like that touch at the beginning of the season.
Should be a good opening day, mate. Here we go - kick off time!
We're off from ER As I see a few patches of daylight creaping through
Bill Leslie and Andy Hinchcliffe are our match commentators this morning.
Not happy to see empty seats on the sides there.
Agreed, BD. It's a proper way to start the season.
Early corner for Wolves...come on!
Byram gets it away well and starts the attack. Nearly played McCormack in. Good start for the youngster.
I agree. I blame Evil Neal and Captain Birdseye for those empty seats.
It was a great through ball , but Wolves dominated early possession.
Shame that United don't get started until Monday. I shall have to miss that one for my conference. But I'm sure you and UWS will keep the LOB banter going that day.
Where is Rip btw?
Sam Byram looks like one of UWS's kids.
The fans are upset that the take-over biz is still hanging over the club. Should have been either done or not during the summer. Apparently the Bahrainis are in the ground today having a look.
Tony Bates gifts us a tasty free kick chance here.
It's wasted with a lofted chip to the Wolves keeper.
I will have to miss United too as I go back to work. I am really cheesed off about that.Naughty from UWS for excessive sleeping and for cheating off me in the predictions.
A return to ER for Terry Connor.
Oh - Mack got behind the backfour there and he nearly played in Becchio who thought he was pulled back.
Better form Leeds after a great run by Becks and a shot that was chipped just wide.
Another free kick - we're doing well here to build up some momentum.
Jamaican international Austin got a flick on the header but well wide.
Nice free kick and Austin should have headed that at least on target
Route 1 from Wolves to Ebanks-Blake but Kenny did well off his line.
Great keeping by Paddy Kenny as he rushed out of goal to beat Ebanks Blake to the ball.
First corner for the Whites now.
WOW BD!I wonder why there are so many empty seats.
Oh - Austin's shot was cleared off the line! Somehow they scramble it out and Byram's shot was wide.
Close call!
Great corner from Ross as the header from Austin was cleared off the line , a shot from Green was locked and young Byram shot just wide.
Oh - Byram was skinned by Jarvis there. A bit naive.
You're right - Byram looks about 14.
Ross fouls Karl Henry after great defending from Austin off trickery from Matty Jarvis.
Kenny punched away the free kick, but Leeds could not capitalize on the break.
Ross tries a speculative effort from distance after Varney had played it behind him.
I wonder if UWS is watching Ross County vs Celtic on one of those dodgy links.
It may be a smaller than usual crowd for an opening day but they are making a fair noise, most of it fairly rude.
Wolves win another corner off of dodgy Leeds defending
Varney heads away the corner.
No doubt our resident Celtic fan Someone Said is. I suspect that Rip is tucked up in bed having a lie in.
Now i is completely light outside.
Byram did well that time but it's another corner to Wolves.
Nice sunny morning here in WNY.
Handball is called on Ebanks Blake off of a Roger Johnson header off the corner.
Bill Leslie said it is humid at ER. Has he come to South Texas? That is real hunidity
Just wide by Ross after a great run by Ross and a corner that is cleared away
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!
Becchio! 1-0!
YESSSSSSS!!! 1-0 LEEDS AS BECKS SCORES WITH A GREAT FINISH AS PADDY KENNY CLEARED TO ROSS , WHO PUT IN A GREAT CROSS.
It's that Ross-Becchio combination that does the trick. Only three touches from front to back. The Warnock Way, I suspect. We're in front.
I was having fun at UWS's expense because that is the other match. Correct about SS. Also UWS copied me on the predictions. Naughty behavior from UWS.
It sounds that way.It won't work in the Prem. The possession stats support your statement, UWS.
I totally disagree with Hinchcliffe - Wolves have not dominated this match. We've done well.
I noticed that - sheer plagiarism from UWS. All he did was switch the cup winners around. Cheek.
Nessie was spotted earlier this week just a few miles from where Ross County is hosting Celtic. I guess anything is possible if a Scotsman won Wimpleton.
Great defending from Leeds as Paul Green gets stuck in.Evil Spitty warming up on the touchline.
Spitty Diouf is up off the bench warming up. He was booed last week but he gets a cheer this one. Shame.
I think he made one or two changes from the promotion and relegation spots. The cheeky lad!
What is your opinion on the signing of Spitty
Nasty fall by Paul Green as he awkwardly lands on international teammate Stephen Ward.
Leslie says that Warnock and Diouf are "Marmite characters." I don't know what that means - "dark and sticky?" "Full of yeast?"
I think At the time Andy Hinchclifee said Wolves were dominating , they had 60% of the possession, but it has been fairly even in my opinion.
I would say all of the above. A Warnock Spitty sandwich???
I'm not keen on it. He's a replacement for Snoddy, I suspect, but I don't like his temperament.
Solbokken is definitely not happy with the Wolves performance as seen by the antics in the technical area.
I agree - Wolves have been playing it about in midfield but they haven't really created any real chances and they've been shaky at the back. We could have had a penalty as well.
Agreed, BD. But he's a typical Evil Neil player. I don't blame you.
Oh - Mack's cross is just a bit too high for Varney. I like how Luke has joined the attack several times today.
OH! the cross from Ross for Varney was just inches too high
Luke seems to be a great signing from Pompey, who were thrashed by your Argyle last Saturday in the Capital One Cup.
Poor cross from Ross after Leeds put some passes together. Isn't that a violation of Neil's policy
Warnock's not happy about something. More gesticulating from the technical area. I'm fairly happy about the opening half hour of the season.
Very Humid in West Yorkshire???
COMPARED TO WHAT????
Yes, I feel sorry for Pompey. We've raided their squad over the summer. They start on 0 points today but will have a ten point deduction again once they come out of administration. Another relegation battle perhaps?
I think it was too much passing for Neil's liking.
Definitely not compared to Texas, for sure. I'm sure it's a scorcher today in Harlingen.
It sounds that way and their squad has been depleted. I would think they are one of the favorites for relegation.
Nice - the Chelski and Citeh matches are live on Sunday.
Yes. It has been around 100 every day, but will cool down to the low 90s Monday through Wednesday as rain will be a possibility those days.
I saw that on my guides. This is the only link this weekend.I will have to record United on Monday and UWS will have to fly solo.
Wolves have a chance to swing a free kick in but Kenny collects well. I feel quite comfortable with him between the sticks this season.
Oh - Green nearly combined with Norris from another Ross cross.
BUGGER!!! Great run down the right by Ross off a long throw by Paddy , but a crappy header by Green after a great run by Norris.
Naughty behavior by new boy, Ryan Austin, but he is a typical Evil Neil player
Now the sun is out shining strongly.
Nice tackle there by Byram. He seems to have adjusted to the challenge of Matt Jarvis well.
I think Byram has had a great debut as marking Matty Jarvis is not the easiest of tasks for an inexperienced teen
Green has gone down again with a knee knack and he may have to come off. Tom Lees is warming up.
An early bath for Paul Green? I thought he would have Michael Brown warm up as he seems like a natural replacement.
Green trots off and may be able to continue.
Five minutes of the half left. I hope we can just hang on and regroup in the dressing room during the interval.
There should be at least two minutes of stoppage time
I think so. It has been a comfortable half for the Whites. I was expecting better from Wolves.
I thought that Warnock might build the side around Michael Brown but he hasn't seemed to do so. On the bench today. Maybe he hasn't trained well this summer.
Green is going to have to come off.
We're down to ten men temporarily as Byram wins another challenge with Jarvis.
I thought Drury would start too, but Leeds seem to be doing well enough without them.
I guess Lees will replace Green
No it's Spitty making his debut for Leeds and he gets a mixed reception as expected.
Bloody hell - we're going to see an early league debut for Spitty Diouf because of that injury. Warm applause from the Elland Road faithful.
You're right - some boos as well as he came on.
Into stoppage time at ER. Two minutes of that.
Into stoppage time now.
The boos must have come from the Wolves fans.
wolves block a shot from Ross.
Oh - Ross had a shot blocked away there. I thought he might curl one in from that position.
That's the half-time whistle. So far, so good. I'm reasonably happy with that first half performance. More of the same, please.
1-0!
Becks nearly found Ross on the break, but for a last second tackle and Leeds have a 1-0 halftime lead. Time for the bagel
Off to empty the dishwasher at half time.
Leeds legend , Gary McAllister will offer his opinions at the half.
Hi Guys . Don't know if this will work . But here goes .
Yippie it worked !!!
How are you all this fine morning ?
It's too hot to do anything here .
Closing the shop early today but
have to go to Cambridge to see Mike .
so won't be on for long .
An upset is in the works as Ross County leads Celtic 1-0 midway through the second half.
Good afternoon, Tony. Great to hear from you. Stay cool. I would stay away from Texas because it is a scorcher out here.
BLOODY HELL!
I will be scarred for life as Special K was in the shower doing a shampoo commercial. If that doesn't wake me up then nothing will.
Polish international Pesko coming on for Wolves at the start of the second half.
Come on, you Whites!
Slawomir Peszko, the Polish midfielder, is on for young Anthony Forde as Wolves make a change. The second half kicks off from ER.
Morning, Tony - great to hear from you on this opening day. We'll be around tomorrow for Chelski's opener with Wigan.
Bill Leslie said it's a tactical change then contradicted himslef, saying it was like for like.
I think I'll leave the heat in Texas for you thanks . I couldn't handle it
I will have to record United's opener at Goodison as it will be my first day back at work.
Again it's Paddy Kenny with a long ball to Spitty there that caused some real problems in the Wolves defense. Early corner for us.
Hope all is well Tony. As Bob stated, we will watch Chelsea at Wigan later today
I'm certainly glad that I missed that shampoo advert that you were mentioning, MUR.
Hi Bob . I might be here tomorrow but I'm not sure yet .
Ross tries the ambitious volley over his shoulder. A difficult technique even for the best strikers.
Then Ross volleys just over off a typical long ball.
As Bill Leslie mentioned, I would certainly settle for this score-line at full-time but 1-0 is something that makes me nervous right now.
I think Ross scored for the Jocks vs the Aussies on Wednesday and one of your old boys scored for Cote D'Ivoire vs Russia.
I didn't think there was much in that challenge by David Norris.
Ebanks-Blake is looking frustrated on the left flank. I like it.
Leeds have kept Ebanks Blake and Doyle quiet . Well done!
Really - I don't member an Ivorian at Elland Road.
Oh - Luke Varney had a chance there but his heavy touch allowed the keeper to gather.
OH! Luke Varney should have scored off a superb long ball, but too long and Carl Ikeme did well to gather at his feet
I forget the name, but he was a tricky winger
Aidy White sticks a knee out and gets a bollocking from Bates.
Oh yeah - it's Max Gradel. I'd forgotten that he had Ivorian ancestry.
It was Gradel, who moved to St. Etienne as part of the clear out by Captain Birdseye
Morning Boys. I am here but leaving again
I have am cleaning the house and leaving for the store
Some of Tom's teammates are coming over for the matches
Were you two dissing me earlier???
Wow - Aidy White slipped there and Pesko had a chance to play in Doyle. Came to nothing. Phew!
PHEW! A nice through ball from Karl Henry, but Peszko could put in a good cross and Leeds cleared.
Morning, UWS! Bad form on opening day to have the Honey-Do list. Bad form.
Good morning, UWS. Moi ??? Never!
Don't know what he's talking about.
Agreed, BD. I thought you would be watching the action from ER.
Becks failed to make good contact with a header off the free kick. That was a good opportunity
Half an hour left to play. I'd like a second goal, maybe one for Ross, right about now.
Ross County still lead Cel;tic 1-0 with four minutes plus stoppage time remaining.
Good early season chorus of "Manchester, wank wank wank" from the Kop.
Oh - Austin had a chance from a header there. He looks a threat from set pieces. Collected by the Wolves keeper.
Varney has a shot deflected for a corner and Varney heads straight at Ikeme off a corner from Spitty
Varney fell awkwardly there over Karl Henry's shoulder. He's down for the count.
IS the KOP at Feenway Park?
Oh - Aidy White got skinned there and pulled back Pesko. Close to a pen. Gets a yellow for his trouble.
Some off the ball handbags there as well between Zubar and Pearce. Naughty.
No Kop at Fenway Park. The origin is a hill in South Africa called "The Spion Kop" that English brigades from Liverpool and Leeds had to storm up during the Boer War.
I am back after a trip to the loo.
Welcome back. Hope it was a successful trip.
UWS has taken his lumps and has buggered off again.
Young Sam Byram is going to go into the book as well. We're trying to prove our "Dirty Leeds" label right about now.
Free kick for Wolves.
Actually , I made that remark because the Fenway group owns Liverppol, who actually played a preseason game there. I was having fun at their expense.
The frustrated Ebanks-Blake is coming off and Bjorn Sigardson is coming on for his Wolves debut.
Henry tried to chip one on to Johnson's head. Peltier nodded out for a corner.
We're inviting Wolves onto us right about now. A bit of a lull. Warnock needs to freshen the pack with about twenty minutes left.
Wolves make a change as Ebanks Blake gets a mixed reception after being replaced by an Icelandic international, then Peltier heads out a cross for a corner where Peszko shoots well over.
Sorry, I missed out on your reference, mate.
Now it's Varney into the book for swinging an elbow at Roger Johnson.
More hand bags as Roger Johnson feels he was elbowed by Varney , who was booked for that
Evil Neil acknowledges a rude chant from the Wolves fans.
A great trip. Cheers mate.UWS slinked away to clean house rather than support his mate. Also he should be more appreciative for the help I gave him on the predictions.
Now it's Becchio with a striker's challenge. Yellow for him. That's four yellows in quick succession for us.
And the Wolves fans start up the "Dirty Leeds" chant again.
Sorry I have to leave so soon but I'm
closing the shop shortly and off to
Cambridge . Hopefully join in again
tomorrow .
Have fun guys .
I saw that Typical Neil and a typical Neil side as Becks becoames the fourth Leeds player booked in the last ten minutes as that was really naughty
Oh - Ross and Becchio combine again but the finish is tame.
Cheers Tony. we hope you can join us tomorrow.
Pesko has thankfully been rather profligate since coming on. We've been giving him far too much space.
Right on cue, LUFC Academy kid Tom Lees is on for Ross. Warnock is going for the 1-0 win then.
Lees is on for Ross as Neil is shutting up shop in the last fifteen minutes. I thought that would be Tony's job.
Cheerio, Tony!
We're just lumping it up toward Becchio now. Just brings the pressure back on us.
A great cross by Doyle , but Leeds fans cheer as the header was completely missed.
Fans cheer off a poor cross from Jarvis.
Oh - Jarvis jinked in dangerously but his shot was thankfully rather wayward.
An update as Kris Commons saved Celtic's blushes with an equalizer in the third minute of stoppage time as Celtic escaped Loch Ness with a 1-1 draw at Ross County
Inside the last ten minutes. Blow up, ref!
So Tony is the resident Nocito today and no thanks with help from yours truly on the predictions!
I agree.
BLOW UP REF!
Diouf is up to his usual floppy antics already.
Tongo Doumbia is booked for a naughty challenge on Spitty as Ikeme punches away the free kick
One more roll of the dice for Wolves. Edwards on for Stearman. Presumably an attacking move.
David Edwards is on for Richard Stearman as Wolves make their final change,.
Nice job playing the corner flags now. Spitty is getting a nice hand from the Kop.
