A Midweek Classico!
Morning class taught, driveway shoveled, I'm settling in to enjoy an afternoon of the good stuff on a bitter cold but sunny WNY afternoon. The marquee match-up is of course the Merseyside Derby. The Goodison Park edition earlier this year was a 3-3 thriller, so I'm hoping for more goals today, especially from my GBB The Chunk. I'll also be looking to my Mighty Whites to break the five-match loss streak today as we host the Tractor Boyz at Elland Road. Join me from 2:45pm for all the action!

Hiya Bob
I am home a little early from school ready for the match. I have United on one of the extra channels and will keep putting back to the derby
I also have a link for a Soccer Special going too
Mata starts as does RVP. Roon on the bench
Like three new signings!
I hope United play a different way

NBC going to show United coming out of the tunnel because the derby doesn't start until 3 pm
Love everything that NBC has done apart from their review shows. MotD is on too late and the editing is piss poor but other than that… BRAVO
Ollie getting some hugs from the men at OT
Rio talking to him too
I really hope United have a great performance tonight… it needs to start well to go well
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
Wonder why Roon isn't starting and RVP is
You are my Solskjaer
my Olie solskjaer
You make me happy
When skies are gray
You're never boring
You just keep scoring
Please don't take
My Solskjaer away
My match channel just went off for some reason.. bloody hell
THIS IS A TRANSMISSION TEST FOR PL EXTRA
Do your testing before show time!
If Untied win, they will go nowhere in the table but finally hit the 40 point mark. I guess we want a City win tomorrow and draw at Anfield tonight
Afternoon, UWS - great to have you on board this afternoon. How's the weather out your way?
Morning BD
IT'S BLOODY FREEZING!
Players coming out and the damn channel is still off!!
Cold here in Columbus! On my couch and hoping the Toffees can get three today!
Back four for Everton is different with Coleman and Distin injured and Heitinga not even on the bench. Good to see Barkley back in the lineup, better not be too soon after his injury.
Still out!!!!
The line-ups for the big one at Elland Road:
Leeds - Kenny, Byram, Lees, Pearce, Warnock, Kebe, Austin, Brown, Stewart, Spitty, Ross.
Ipswich - Gerken, Chambers, Berra, Smith, Cresswell, Anderson, Skuse, Tunnicliffe, Tabb, Murphy, McGoldrick.
NBS showing the teams coming out of the tunnel at OT. Great stuff!
FINALLY… IT'S BACK
Try NBS Sports - they look as if they'll be on the match at OT until 3pm.
Rooney smiling on the bench with Fletch
United kicking off with Mata and RVP attacking the Stretford End
Yes, indeed - they're showing the first ten minutes of United v. Cardiff until the Derby starts on NBC Sports. Well done!
Wow.
WELL DONE NBC AGAIN
come on Evra… find someone!!
Sorry I won't be able to watch the match at Anfield!
Giggs to score today for the first time this season?
Come on, you Whites! MOT!
The number 8 shirt looks much better than when filled with an Anderson!
Smalling with an atrocious cross pass
Cardiff break… United survive
Where's Anderson gone then?
Sotton go close first against the Gunners
Italy
Great noise at OT - and well done NBC for not muting it the way that Fox does.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RVP!!!
UNITED SHOULD HAVE SCORED THREE TIMES BEFORE THEY DID!!
GOAL! That didn't take long! RVP after three bites of the cherry!
1-0!
Third attempt is a charm for Man U.
Hello everyone.
CRUSH THEM UNITED!!!
Lovely cross in from Yashley and Valencia headed off the bar, RVP following in well.
United are back!
Afternoon Someone! How are you, mate?
Anderson went to Florence
My feet are still cold from the outside. And NBC is having audio problems here.
United playing with PACE
This season's United have not gone on to rout any team… NOW IS THE PLACE TO START
I know what you mean about the cold. I had a rather chilly and brisk walk over to campus this morning and then shoveled for an hour. Brrr!
NBC now switching over to Anfield for the pre-match festivities.
Again
RVP, MATA, ROONEY
Three new signings!
Still no goals in the Championship.
Of course, the defense is the same
Smalling scares me every time he gets near the ball
All Saints at St. Marys
United looking like a completely new side, much like Arsenal after Ozil was signed.
No goals anywhere…… EXCEPT AT OLD TRAFFORD!
Don't slow down United
We need goals, goals, goals!
Game on at anfield!
We're underway at Anfield then.
Oh - youngster Ross Barkley is oh so close to an opening goal with a rocket just by Mignolet's post.
Valencia gets the ball from Giggs but of course doesn't take a man on
RVP tries to cross… cut off
Oh - a full volley by Henderson is beaten away by Timmy! Great start to this one.
Again, a draw or Everton win for me
Mata too deep right now
Move up mate
Great cross by Mata just missed by Young at the back post!!
Uh oh, Cambridge losing at home
Pienaar down as if poleaxed off the ball.
Goal at St Marys to Southampton!!
Wow! The Gooner won't be happy with that.
Reading take the lead against Bpool
I've just switched over to the Soton v. Arse match to see the aftermath of the goal. Soton definitely seem on the front foot.
home team at anfield showing some early energy. Howard's made some decent saves.
That's an early goal to Reading.
Sotton have well on top
United defending is still worrying
RVP does look a little slow in my eyes
Sterling bundles past a couple of players and then tries a sidefoot effort. No problem for Timmy.
Goal at Derby, Yeovil take the lead at Pride Park
RVP probably won't last the 90 minutes - Roon to come on for him, certainly. But he's already done his bit.
Yeovil take a 0-1 lead over high-flying Derby.
Come on United… turn it up a little
Giggs passing has been poor
Given the ball away again
Leicester take the lead at St. Andrews
Goal at St. Andrews - it's to table-topping Leicester City, looking dead certs for promotion right now. Dyer with the goal.
Sounds like a bit of naughtiness in the Bradford v. PNE match in L1. Two players, including our old boy Neil Kilkenny off for straight reds/violent conduct.
United aren't keeping the ball right now
The passing has been terrible
Doncaster one up against Charlton
Donny have taken a 1-0 lead against Charlton through Meite. Goals starting to fly in in the Championship.
Leeds short of attacking ideas
Goal at Selhurst Park
Palace take the lead against Hull
Ok, I guess United are the same!
HOLDING ON
Definitely - and shopping Ross McCormack to Fulham for a packet of crisps certainly won't help matters.
Jason Puncheon has put Palace 1-0 up over Hull. They're renaissance continues.
Timmy with another big save from Sterling.
Barnsley lead Bburn
Chants of "USA, USA, USA" after that save by Timmy.
Howard's keeping this match scoreless.
Corner to United… Young to take…. Untied pass it thru everyone… just wide by RVP
Reading two up
Adam LeFondre has put Reading 2-0 up over Blackpool.
Cardiff have a decent cross… missed by three players
Yeovil TWO up at Derby
10 to go til half
Come on United
GOAL! Stevie G. puts Liverpool in the lead!
suarez's corner to gerrard's head and it's 1-0 home team
Gerrard, who usually takes corners, is on the end of one there with a clever back header that evaded Alcaraz at the near post.
Yeovil now 0-2 up over Derby. Quite a shock there.
Stop ignoring my updates!!
Lukaku down on that corner. Looks like he may be done for the day with a leg injury.
Doncaster two up against Charlton
Blackburn level at Barnsley
Useless by Evans and De Gea… a corner gifted to Cardiff
Oh great, Naismith in for Lukaku.
Cardiff pinning United back
Get involved via 81111
Nick: If Crystal Palace stay up, they should rename the club Crystal Pulis!
Oh - Sturridge with a curler that just evaded Timmy's crossbar.
Cardiff have some much space when they attack!!
sigh… same old same old
Arsenal really seem out of sorts. This could easily be an afternoon where Arsenal drop points.
Goal at Loftus Road
QPR score against Bolton
This match started well for United and now it is the same as before… no ideas
Southampton have had 7 chances
Arsenal NONE
An eight point gap between Leicester and QPR in first and second now.
14 attempts for Newcaste
1 for Norwich
Mata with a poor cross for neither Giggs or RVP
Arsenal get their first chance in the 44th minute
Good save apparently
Oh - Jags nearly equalizes for the Toffees. Mignolet does well.
Horrible clearance by 'pool and Jagielka's blast is handled by Mignolet. A couple of defensive lapses that Everton nearly took advantage of.
Half time at OT
Started well… Cardiff came back
Not really happy
Oh - Mirallas just a whisker away from equalizing. Good spell for Everton.
Over to Anfield… Everton go just wide
Ricky Gestede puts Blackburn 1-2 up now.
TWO NIL
Sturridge!!
WIDE OPEN
I SAW THE RUN… WHY DIDN"T EVERTON!!!
Everton defense a turnstile as Sturridge makes it 2-0.
GOAL! And just as Everton were threatening, Sturridge sticks the knife in.
2-0 Reds!
Big Nose cheers!!
I'd like to see those finishes from him in the summer in Brazil.
Half-time at OT - 0-0. No goals in three games for us.
GET UP SUAREZ
DIVE!!!
and that about does it.
THREE NIL!!!
STURRIDGE!!!
On side… high lob
3-0!!!!!
Sturridge with an unbelievable chip.
Cool finish… Timmy should have stayed
I like my half time has footer and then I get to go back match!
Great reactions from the Pool fans at the Anfield Road end - they can't quite believe that their side is 3-0 up before half-time.
Fantastic coverage, eh, UWS?!
United would still be six point Liverpool but two behind Everton and three Spurs
Everton defense looks no where!!
Three goals for Pool and Suarez hasn't got a look in. Wow!
I agree - don't know why they're playing such a high line against speed demons like Sturridge and Sterling.
You key on suarez, sturridge will kill you. That's a tough duo to defend. Pienaar losing composure out there.
Love it!!
Again, only don't like the Highlight show
Too late and useless editing!
OH, and getting ACC Basketball instead of the 12:30 match on two Saturdays in a row
BTW, no Prem games last Saturday… NO BASKETBALL!
Wonder how the coverage of the Prem is going to be hurt by the Olympics
Agreed - it's the only mistake that they've made so far. Let's hope they sort that out.
Steve Claridge on BBC Radio 5 live Sports Extra
HALF-TIME STATS - Southampton 1-0 Arsenal
"I did not see one Arsenal fan clap after that first-half performance. They have been so far off the pace, it has beggared belief. Arsene Wenger has to make a change at half-time. In Adam Lallana, Southampton have one of the outstanding talents in the division. He has to go to the World Cup - 100%."
Good question, mate. We better not be shoved aside for the bloody two-man luge.
Back to back corners for the Toffees
No to Lallana. Who would he replace in the England squad.
Why do you think there is ANYONE in the squad that is irreplaceable
Give me your 23 with Lallana in it. Or give me your five forwards with Lallana as one of them. You want old man Ricky Lambert in there too.
I guess Lambert won't go. He isn't playing too much for Sotton right now
Of course, Liverpool are much better in the first half in their matches… there's hope
My five forwards for England are Rooney, Sturridge, Wellbeck, Walcott and Sterling. Who would you exclude for Lallana?
3 added minutes at Anfield
Did they Lukaku has ligament damage
I wouldn't take Wellbeck
Players out for the second half at OT
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
Away they go as Ollie gets a clap as he is walking the touchline
Second halfs starting up again.
Useless break by United
Mata does a nice pass,
RVP gets in his way
He finds Young
He looks for Giggs who is too slow
Arlo said ankle ligament damage for Lukaku. This has been a horrible night for Everton. Absolutely horrible.
United need to be winning these matches four nil!!!
Again, I think we have only won two games by more than one goal
4-1 at Swansea
2-0 home to Palace
RVP looks hurt to me… or just knackered
RVP looks hurt to me… or just knackered
ARSENAL TIE IT UP!!
United… ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK
Giroud scores Arsenal's equalizer with a tidy finish. And he's getting the "Hey Jude" treatment now from the traveling supporters.
Valencia crosses the ball!!!
Not good news about The Chunk. I'm devastated for my GBB chances.
Derby pull one back through Paul Bamford.
Derby get a goal back early against Yeovil…. a 3-2 win then for them!
Pompey take the lead at Wycombe… they need a win badly
GOAL! Fantastic finish from Caz!
What a turnaround! 1-2!
Not good enough so far by United… not attacking
ARSENAL TAKE THE LEAD
That goal owes a tremendous amount to the hold up play by Giroud who took one off the chest, turned and then fed Ozil who drove toward the center and laid off to Caz.
Wow - three goals in eight minutes!
Soton are back! Desmond! Your boy Lallana again!
United just sitting back!
United not attacking the man with the ball.. just letting them cross
DESMOND AT ST. MARYS
ENGLAND'S STAR OF THE SUMMER!!
Cambridge tie it up
IT'S ALL CARDIFF!!
Still goalless at Elland Road. I suppose a point today would be progress after five losses on the trot.
United just sitting back… I don't get it!!!
Still waiting for your five forwards for England including Lallana. I suppose that you're on the Fatty Huddlestone for England bandwagon as well, right?
United finally get the ball out but with no pace
Cambridge are down again
Leeds behind!
QPR two up
YES!!!!!!!!!
GREAT GOAL BY YOUNG!!!!!!
Goal at Elland Road! To Ipshits - bugger, bugger, bugger!
GREAT FINISH BY YOUNG
Cut in and rifled it into the side netting
Karl Henry with a rare goal for QPR.
Orient take the lead against Coventry
surprise surprise
Valencia fails to cross the ball
I would keep Jan and Young and get rid of Valencia
Okay, I just noticed that you wouldn't take Wellbeck to Brazil. Does that mean Roon, Sturridge, Theo, Sterling and Lallana for you?
Rooney undressing
Surely to replace RVP
Game in Wales… to Swansea against Fulham
We're back on at Anfield then.
Theo is out too
Mata with a decent shot saved
We're lucky not to be in the bottom half now.
Why would Charlie Nicholas think Mata couldn't last 90 min!
LEEDS TIE IT UP
ROSS MAC
A pen
Osman on for Pienaar. McGeady still on the bench. Let's see if Everton can salvage anything out of this mess.
You're right; Wenger is trying to argue that he won't be fit for Brazil. I'm not quite sure about that. So who's your five?
