Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Otto von Bismarck...Johannes Gutenberg...Angela Merkel...Beethoven....your boys took a hell of a beating today!!!!!

If you didn't have a chance to watch this afternoon's historic match against the World Champions Germany, make sure to catch the highlights tonight on SportsCenter. When was the last time that the US won away to Germany. Uh....never. And this on the heels of an epic 3-4 win against the Dutch only a few days ago. If only the World Cup were happening this summer. Klinsmann's young side is looking mighty impressive right about now.

I watched the match on the Fox Soccer link when I got home from work. It was definitely a great win even if the Germans were playing a slightly under strength side. We were definitely in the Mix when we tied things up and showed we had Wood with an unexpected late winner. Bobby Wood is not exactly a starter, playing with a team that has just been relegated to the German Third tier. He had been a flop with Munich 1860 previously. This is off a first ever win against the Dutch.
