A Big Sunday Match!
I'm getting a late start on things today, as I wasn't that keen on the South Coast Derby this morning. I opted instead to get some extra kip. But I'm up and around and looking forward to the big one - Citeh v. Arse at 11am. It's a match-up between the two main rivals of Chelski for the title. Who will win out - find out next.

Chelsea’s 11 wins on the spin have given them not so much a cushion as an entire sofa at the top of the league, and though both of these teams will believe they have the wherewithal to catch them, whoever loses this game may well require a similar run – as well as the league leaders going off the boil, obviously – for them to return to genuine title reckoning.
Arlo, Lee and Graeme are pitch-side at the Etihad now - nice touch for the holidays.
Good morning, mate. I got some extra kip too since Elizabeth and I had a late night out. Now I'm up to enjoy the pleasure of your company on our coldest morning of the season.
Morning, MUR - glad you enjoyed a nice evening out and a United win. Great to have you on board today.
Teams coming out of the tunnel:
Man City: Bravo, Zabaleta, Otamendi, Kolarov, Clichy, Fernando, Sané, Touré, Silva, De Bruyne, Sterling. Subs: Sagna, Nolito, Caballero, Jesus Navas, Stones, Iheanacho, Garcia.
Arsenal: Cech, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Xhaka, Walcott, Özil, Iwobi, Sánchez. Subs: Gibbs, Lucas Perez, Giroud, Ospina, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Holding, Elneny.
Referee: Martin Atkinson.
All the Citeh players are wearing Ilkay Gundogan No8 shirts, as a show of support to their injured team-mate, who is out for the rest of the season.
Spurs and Burnley also kicking off at Shite Fart. You'll no doubt be pulling for Burnley today.
That match is on CNBC. I have both matches on. I'm pulling for Burnley and Sunshine for the Spuds. He's watching from his cage in my bedroom.
We're away at the Etihad, Citeh in all sky blue and Arsenal in their away yellow and grey horribleness.
Delle Alli should have given the Spuds the lead. Danny Rose intercepted a pass from Ben Mee and played a lovely pass to Alli, who blazed over with just Tom Heaton to beat
GOAL! What a start! Theo has opened the scoring for the Arsenal!!!!
GOAL!!! THEO GIVES THE GUNNERS THE LEAD SECONDS AFTER CITEH MISSED A GREAT CHANCE.
Terrific team move there between Bellerin, Alexis and Theo but where were the Citeh defenders?!
0-1!
Oh - Sterling goes just wide with a diving header. Great start to this match!
It all started with a pass from Sane that was missed at the near post and Cech gathered . he rolled the ball to Kos , who ran the l;ength of the pitch, passed to Alexis.. He picked out Theo, who shot past Bravo.
Citeh should have tied it up as Sterling had a free header off a superb cross from De Bruyne, but headed wide from three yards out
The Spuds had a great chance to score as Harry Kane played a pass across the box and Eriksen just failed to divert it in.
Koz upends Sterling, who looks lively today, and Citeh have a nice free kick opportunity.
Kos a tad late with what was not exactly a Sterling challenge.
Oh - Yaya rose to meet that free kick - but he was flagged off anyway.
Boom, boom - you're in early with the puns.
Yaya curls the free kick just wide while eriksen had a shot deflected just wide as he's in great scoring form
Cheers mate. I am well rested.
The Spuds win a corner off of George Boyd
They take it short and Danny Rose has a shot deflected for another.
The corner from eriksen is headed on by wnayama and Delle Alli deflects it off the side of the post for a goal kick.
Nice interplay there by the Arsenal - they look really up for it.
Harry Kane has a shot deflected for a corner that is played short to Kyle Walker, who passes to young Harry Winks, who curls a shot straight to Tom Heaton.
Arsenal are slicing through the Citeh defense again and again - or in Lee Dixon's words, "putting them on a piece of toast."
Agreed. Citeh will need to up their game or face another defeat.
Great description by Lee as both North London teams are on top.
There has been a halt in play at SFL because Delle Alli is down due to a late tackle, but now seems to be okay.
I would think that toast has jam spread across , based on the lack of aggressiveness by Citeh
City’s plan to counter Arsenal’s pace and threat on the counter, identified by Guardiola pre-match as their greatest threats, is to play a comedy defence really high up the pitch, and just one defensive midfielder.
GOAL !!!ASHLEY BARNES GIVES BURNLEY A SURPRISE LEAD AT SFL.
Ginger Winger turns well but then slashes the shot well over the bar.
Jeff Hendrick is now down for Burnley
BOOM BOOM, mate
It was school boy defending by the Spuds as a long clearance from Kyle Walker was headed on and Scott Arfield got the ball . He was tackled by Walker , who gifted the ball back to Arfield. He passed to George Boyd , who passed across the box to Barnes, who was surronded by four white shirts, who stood and watched him easily tap in at the far post.
The announcer said that Burnley last won at SFL in 1974. They've onl;y played there a half a dozen times since then , so it's not exactly a significant statistic.
GOAL !!! 1-1 AT SFL AS DELLE ALLI DIVERTS A PASS FROM KYLE WALKER FROM SIX YARDS OUT
The SPuds played about twenty passes just outside the Burnley box. Kyle Walker playing more like a right winger got past two Burnley defenders. played a nice ball across the box that was diverted in for a great finish by Delle Alli . That makes up for Walker's earlier defensive error.
Ashley Barnes, the Burnley scorer, is down under a challenge from Vertonghen. He seems to be okay. Actually, both players were down and both are waiting to get back on the pitch
Great tackle by Yaya as Alexis was wriggling free.
Kyle Walker gets past Arfield and passes to Delle Alli again, but he chips over this time.
Gooner and Dad not so cock a hoop now.
Arsene has gone to the puffy coat now - looks a bit parky out there in Manchester today.
Ginger went down under Koz's challenge - nothing doing from Martin Atkinson.
Michael Keane wins a Burnley corner off a long free kick, Now the Spuds counter. They have a shot blocked.
It's a bit parky here for once. Yesterday I was in shorts.
Oh - Another short corner routine, Monreal has an age to chip the ball in and Xhaka heads just wide. Could easily have been 0-2 there.
Why is it time for a change, mate???
The Etihad sounds like a library right now.
David Silva is booked for a foul no Coq Au Vin.
Training pitch stuff from Arsenal now but Bellerin blasts over at the end of the move.
Like the Highbury Library? Great time to read a book or catch up on a nap.
Dean MArney fouls Danny Rose just outside the Burnley box.
De Bruyne has a cross cut out for a Citeh corner.
Harry Kane was put through by Delle Alli and his close range effort is well saved by Tom Heaton.
Nacho cuts out a cross from Zaba for another Citeh corner. Cech easily catches the corner from De Bruyne.
So, as the half winds down, Pep will have to be thinking about how to change things. Citeh have looked decent going forward but they're just not able to handle Arsenal.
Zaba has a shot blocked for yet another Citeh corner . A minute of stoppage time at the Etihad.
The corner is headed straight to Cech. There are four minutes of stoppage time at SFL.
It's halftime at the Etihad a s the Gunners are one up thanks to an early goal by Theo.
Now off to SFL where it's 1-1.
Danny Rose gets past George Boyd. His cross is headed out and a long range effort from Wanyama is easily saved by Tom Heaton.
Kyle Walker wins a late corner.
The corner from Eriksen is headed out and Andre Gray counters. He finds George Boyd down the left as the half time whistle blows.
The second half is underway at the Etihad and it's a straight swap for Citeh as Sagna is on for Zaba to face his old mates.
Back on at the Etihad for the second half. Predictably, there have been no changes. I could be a Premiership manager.
GOAL! That didn't take long. Straight down the middle and Sane scores an easy goal.
1-1!
GOAL !!!SANE TIES IT UP FOR CITEH LESS THAN TWO MINUTES INTO THE SECOND HALF.
tHE SECOND HALF IS UN DERWAY FROM sfl
Now it's 1-1 in both late matches. A long goal kick from Cech was headed off of Kolorov and broke to Silva . He played a couple of one twos with Sterling , who put through Sane and he shot past the on rushing Cech
Yaya is booked for a foul on Coq Au Vin, who is down and not exactly cock a hoop about it.
Lee Dixon talks about players being blue in the face.Is he talking about Citeh players?
Cursing in the streets of Alex while your dad us trying to enjoy lunch?
Bellerin with an effort sliced wide that looks like one of my golf strokes.
Arsenal have now failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 12 matches. Meanwhile Chelski keep winning 1-0ers.
Ollie getting ready for a requisite sub appearance, some of which have been quite successful.
LOL! I'd like to see that golf game.
Correct three in a row against mediocre opposition, but I guess they keep grinding them out.
I haven't played in years, but I know you would.
We can hear Sunshine from all the way out in the living room. He must be trying to motivate the lads to a victory over Burnley.
Citeh seem to be on the front foot now. What a change from the first half. Arsenal are the ones who need changes now. Giroud might do the trick.
Eriksen should have given the SPuds the lead. Ben Mee tried to clear the ball off of Danny Rose for a goal kick, but gifted it right to him and his cross was headed staright to Tom Heaton from a free header by Eriksen from tow yards out.
That Pep talk must have worked to great effect.
Great close range block by Cech from Sane for a corner off a great slide rule pass from Ginger Winger
A poor corner from Silva is cleared by the first man for a throw,
Sterling pulls the trigger but Cech watches it fizz well wide.
An hour gone now - expect some subs soon.
De Bruyne wins a corner off of Peter Gabriel.
Yes - The Ox is being prepared now. I could be a Premiership manager.
A poor corner from De Bruyne is cleared by the first man, Nacho.
Arsenal just cannot keep the ball at the moment. They’re a shambles.
Agreed. Just as the doc ordered, the Ox is on for Iwobi, who had a quiet match.
OH!!! Delle Alli nearly gave the Spuds the lead with a curling effort from just outside the box that was inches wide.
Former Gunners , David O'Leary and Pat Rice are watching. Rice , who also wenger's assistant , is looking really concerned.
Cissy, with a requisite subs appearance for the SPuds, is on for Dembele.
A superb save by Heaton from a long range effort from eriksen. The rebound is hoofed away.
Cech does well to turn a round a deflected effort from the Ginga Winga.
Cech with a bit of sweeping there.
This is a completely different Arsenal side this half.
GOAL! Sterling beats Cech at his near post and Citeh are 2-1 up.
GOAL !!!! STERLING GIVES CITEH A 2-1 LEAD AFTER THEY WERE TRAILING EARLY DOORS.
Great ball on the turn with a volley to Sterling some 40 yards away set that one up but Sterling still had loads to do to cut inside and beat Cech. Poor from the keeper, though.
Coq au Vin trots off and Kate's boy Olivier comes on.
A bit of blame must go to the usually reliable Cech, who was beaten at the near post by Sterling. Also, the Gunners defenders, who were caught out by an innocuous diagonal ball from De Bruyne off the throw from former Gunner, Clichy. Sterling then cut inside Nacho and beat Cech at the near post.
GOAL !!!! FROM THE LUFC ACADEMY AS DANNY ROSE GIVES THE SPUDS A 2-1 LEAD.
Navas is on for Sane.
Looks like The Ox has done his hammy. Meanwhile, the goalscorer Leroy Sane comes off for Navas.
Oh - Citeh have hit the Sunday Roast now!
Lloris punches away a long Burnely free kick and gets away with it as Scott Arfield volleys the rebound inches over.
It's El Neny to come on for the injured Ox. If anything, that's a defensive move from Arsene. I suppose he didn't have any other forwards to bring on.
Ginger gets a yellow to add to his collection for a tackle back on Gabriel.
Back to the Spuds goal. Bob will be proud of the results yielded from the LUFC Academy. A long Burnley clearance was headed on to the recently introduced Cissy, who went on a run and he put through Danny Rose , who scored with a rocket of a left footed finish
In both matches, the home team has come from behind to take a 2-1 lead. The Gunners are letting the lead slip in consecutive matches in an unsuccessful road trip to the Northwest.
Ollie heads a cross well wide and is livid that he was not awarded a corner.
An attacking switch from Pep despite a late lead as De Bruyne gets a standing ovation. He's replaced by Ihenacho.
Former Leeds player, Sam Vokes, is on for Ashley Barnes, the scorer of the Burnley goal.
Arsenal have owned the last five minutes or so, and now have a free kick on the left after Otamendi fouled Özil, who will take.
Sam was with us on loan for a nano-second - I'm not sure that he ever scored for us.
Elneny is booked for fouling Fernando.
He did not walk like an Egyptian. Will Fernando still be saying that it's better to look good than to feel good?
Four minutes of stoppage time from the Etihad.
Will you be around for the Mersey derby tomorrow?
Number One Son has near post effort beaten out by Heaton for a Spuds cortner on the counter led by Cissy.
A poor corner from Eriksen is cleared away at the near post by Matty Lowton.
Peter Gabriel is booked for a foul that made him look like a sledge hammer.
Now Fernado is booked for Citeh
Beginning four minutes of stoppage time at SFL as Citeh have come from behind to defeat the Gunners 2-1.
Boom, boom - nice one, mate. Speaking of Peter Gabriel, Arsenal are playing games without frontiers.
And it's all over. Arsenal have lost another match 2-1 in a matter of days. A really poor day for them.
Citeh are up to second, seven points behind Chelsea , but will move back down to third if Pool win the Mersey Derby tomorrow,
Matty Lowton booked for Burnley. His fifth of the season, so he will be suspended for the Boxing Day fixture.
Cheers. BOOM BOOM to you and very much true.
So it's City rather than Arsenal up to second now. Arsenal drop to 4th and are only a point ahead of Spurs.
The Spuds will remain fifth while Burnley are being dragged into a relegation battle as I predicted back in August
It's over at SFL as the Spuds, like Citeh , come from behind to win 2-1.
I will be around for the Mersey Derby tomorrow, hoping to enjoy the pleasure of your company.
