OK, Greenwood and Martial would be your choice. Has Ole ever made comment on why he doesn't use them in tandem? What would be his reluctance. I know that Arteta has explained that Auba offers so much stationed on the left with license to drift infield, that pairing him an Lacazette would leave an imbalance. And we're short on true centre forwards. The other possibilities are generally more comfortable as wingers. Only Eddie Nketiah is a out-and-out centre forward and I don't see Arteta choosing him in tandem with Auba and Pepe on the wings.

You all are playing a modern formation, with Martial up top on his own, Rash as a winger on one side, Greenwood on the other, Fernandes in the hole, and Pogs and Fred deeper still. Why wouldn't that work?
I don't think that even if you did pair two up top, like you did in the 90's and aughts, modern defenses couldn't handle that pretty easily. If you look at footage of Yorke and Cole, like a guy like Little Joe would, he's seeing a sea-change in footballing ability from that time to now in defending in the mid and the back. I don't think a tandem of strikers is popular because it's stopped being effective, except as a technique to exert maximum pressure to get a goal in remaining time.

Agreed that we should be an entertaining side with the players in our lineup. Defenders are definitely better athletes than back in the 90s . That's why they're tougher to break down. I'm glad I don't have to solve those defenses . United could use an upgrade. Harry Maguire is okay, but Lindelof and Bailly are not top notch
