We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The Weekend Business

 

Hiya, LOBers - it's that time again. Actually, a bit later than usual on a Saturday do to no scheduled early matches in the Premier League or Championship. It all starts this morning with the 10am EST matches, including Manchester City v. Forest on USA. I'll have my attention focused on Elland Road where my beloved Leeds are hosting Watford. The Hornets are currently languishing in 14th, so this one needs to be the first home win of the season. 

The late one is Brentford v. Everton, with the Toffees desperate for a first win of the season. You know the drill - if you're watching, watch along with me.

Midway through the first half and this one is playing out in exactly the way that I had feared. I worry that other managers in the Championship have sussed out Daniel Farke's tactics and know that he likes his teams to play on the break. Instead, they drop deep and force us to break them down. 0-0.

Really frustrated with this display. I'm not watching it because it isn't being televised but I can tell exactly what's happening.
