Euro 2024 - Day 2
Morning, boys - it's Day 2 of the tournament, which promises a packed agenda of the good stuff. Fox are off to a poor start this morning, as they've decided not to give us any coverage of the 9am Hungary v. Switzerland match. Things heat up, though, with Spain v. Croatia at mid-day Group B action. Then it's off to Italy v. Albania for the evening match. Pop in for a chat if you're watching today.

As a good progressive, I'm hoping that Victor Orban gang get a thrashing, so it's great to see that they're 1-0 down early doors.
0-2 Switzerland! A laser from Aebischer right on the stroke of halftime.
Half-time - The Swiss are cruising this one with goals from Kwadwo Duah and Michel Aebischer. Lovely jubbly!
Bugger! Varga has got one back for the Hungarians. 1-2 now. Game on?
Yes, Embolo adds a third one on the break without his boot on. Or maybe a knee strap. Whatever. It's 1-3 Swiss. Over and out. I'm off for a walkies with the twins.
Next up is a big one in the Group of Death - Group B. It's Spain v. Croatia. Here are the teams:
Spain: Unai Simón; Carvajal, Le Normand, Nacho, Cucurella; Fabián Ruiz, Rodri, Pedri; Lamine Yamal, Morata, Nico Williams
Croatia: Livakovic; Stanisic, Sutalo, Pongracic, Gvardiol; Modric, Brozovic, Kovacic; Majer, Kramaric; Budimir
Spain have turned over a sluggish Croatian side 3-0. Spain rode their luck a bit, especially during a late penalty chance for Croatia, but in the scheme of things, they were in complete control.
So, so far two of the big favorites have gotten off to great starts with big wins. I expect Italy to do the same with Albania next. Let's hope England can do the same tomorrow.
The team news out of Dortmund:
Italy: Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Calafiori, Bastoni, Dimarco; Jorginho, Barella; Chiesa, Frattesi, Pellegrini; Scamacca
Albania: Strakosha; Hysaj, Ajeti, Djimsiti, Mitaj; Asllani, Ramadani, Bajrami; Asani, Broja, Seferi
Oh my - a massive calamity in the Italian backline and Albania are 1-0 up!
In the end, the Italians hit back with two goals in the first half and hung on for a narrow 2-1 win. Not convincing at all.
So, it's Germany and Switz in Group A and Spain and Italy in Group B. Looking forward to Group C and England tomorrow.
