Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Serves that money grubbing numpty SWP right to be left at home. There's no question that he'd have been the man on the right this year if he and his old man hadn't decided to go for the lucre instead of actually continuing to play football. And thereby play himself into the World Cup team.

I hope it's a lesson to all the SWP's and Cashley Coles out there to hang up on Peter Kenyon when the bollix comes a callin'.

I think it's pretty forward thinking of Sven to include Lennon and Wolcott in the squad. Menotti included Maradona in 78, but never played him. Just let him soak up the atmosphere and get the experience.

And Crouchy does a lot more than score, thankfully because he doesn't score many. But Defoe has been crap and crap under tournament pressure generally stays crap.

Next you'll be banging on about Andy Johnson.

Well they may be right. With both Owen and Rooney doubtful, it's going to be rough going. Right now, there is no-one really that catches the eye. A year ago and you'd have said Defoe. But the bugger's been awful. OK, Bent? Crouch? Johnson? Nothing's really grabbing you, right?

I just can't think Sven's serious about blooding Theo in the tournament. Yeah, to me this looks like 4-5-1 with Crouchy knocking the ball down to Joe Cole, Lamps, Becks, Gerrard and maybe Lennon coming in from deep. Risky stuff, no joke.

Hey, thanks for asking...

I think this is a really exciting side. You've got two young guys in Wolcott and Lennon that no-one has seen before so you've got the element of surprize.

I'd go with three at the back, four across the middle and pair up Wolcott and Lennon with Crouch.

Keep watching the Channel. Oh, and Bob Dahlgren, bite me!

The more I listen to Nick and Steven, the less I know about football.

Listen, he picked Walcott because he's been given a guarantee that Owen will be back for the first round. And he picked Walcott for the attention that the kid would get instead of having the hacks parked outside Rooney's gaff 24-7.

We'll start with Crouch up front ahead of Joe Cole, Becks, Stevie G, and Lamps with Carrick holding. If that doesn't bear fruit, we'll bring on Mikey for his goal.

As for Dein, if he was that influential, why all the fuss about where Titi Henry's going this year? Please, more small-minded paranoia.
