Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

As Simon helpfully pointed out, this one will go immediately to penalties if it ends in a draw. This is a relatively new ruling that was introduced but not used in 2004. If this happens today, it'll be the first time. The Czechs have a decent record with penalties but their coach has claimed that they'll go for it today as their last experience with "new rules" was losing to a "Golden Goal at Euro 96.

The disappointing Milan Baros has been replaced up front with big Jan Koller.
Excellent! It's Adrian Healey and Andy Gray for this one and Andy sounds as excited as kid on summer holidays at the prospect of this one.
Hey Bob, I am here until about 3:15 to another game. We had our game this morning. I felt like my old self again. We won 4-3 and I scored two!
Enough my yackin, so the mystery has been solved. Straight to Pens.
A Turk already sent back to change his boots. Peter Cech look alikes in the the stands
Well done, mate! You always did have a nose for goal, eh?
Welcome, it'll be a pleasure chatting with you for a while.
The referee's being a martinet about the footwear which has delayed the kickoff by about five minutes. But here we go!
An early chance for a free kick aimed at Koller....
Two open men on the backpost but the cross was overhit.
The Czechs have come out of the traps here. They did that the other day against Portugal as well. Topal picks up a yellow card and the Czechs set for another free kick...
Fairly choppy so far, with little rhythm to the match. Mehmet Aurelio picked up a second Turkish card there for dissent after another foul was given.
Koller misses a half chance. He may regret that.
Jan Koller is causing the Turkish back four fits here. They've fouled him four or five times already.
The ref is being very picky and mostly against the Turks. It started in the tunnel
You reckon he's biased against the Turks? Maybe so.
"An enjoyable time in Istanbul?" Yeah, if you like being stabbed.
I am off.
Sorry I haven't been around a lot.
Cheers
Good luck today, mate!
GOAL! It's it's big Jan Koller with the crucial opening goal for the Czechs. That goal was certainly coming. A lovely ball over from Gygera and Koller powered a brilliant header past the keeper.
Czechs 1 Turks 0!
Andy's right that the Turks have been trying to game their way through some pressure by time wasting. They'll have to change their plans now. The Turks are the only team that's come from behind to win; they'll have to do it again tonight.
Half-time: 1-0 Czechs.
Well, it hasn't been Turkish delight tonight. Fateh Turim's side have been really disappointing. He'll have to gee them up in order to get them back into this match. They've got forty five minutes to secure their place in the quarter finals.
Second half starting...
The Turks have certainly come out with more of a sense of purpose, Nihat coming close on a couple of occasions.
It's Kazim Richards coming on now.
Koller was straight in on goal there but he ran out of gas running half way down the pitch and put his shot wide.
GOAL! Czechs 2-0!
Plasil has made it safe for the Czechs now. Another great cross over and Plasil beat his man and tucked in nicely at the backpost.
Fateh Turim is livid that he didn't have the chance to put his sub on and the Turks had 10 men on when the goal in.
Big news from Conmebol qualifying. Paraguay have run out to a 2-0 lead over Brazil, with the altitude obviously having an influence.
That sets up a tasty encounter between Brazil and Argentina on Wednesday. Who would have thought that there would be this much good footie in June?
Pollack hits the post - that surely would have been curtains for the Turks.
Emre Asik goes into the book only moments after having a head wound bound up Terry Butcher style.
GOAL! The Turks are back in it! Hamid Altintop crosses and Alda hits a nice shot that probably shouldn't have beaten a keeper of Petr Cech's quality at the near post.
Czechs 2 Turkey 1
Game on! Fifteen minutes to play.
Oh, Kazim put another ball over and Cech just barely palmed it away. All Turkey now. This is another grandstand finish.
Plasil is withdrawn in order to shore up the left back position that the Turks have been exploiting in the past ten minutes.
Oh, Servet had a free header there but he didn't get a touch on it. Unbelievable miss there.
Plenty of gamesmanship from the Czechs now wasting time. They've run out of gas.
Sionko is coming off to be replaced with Vlcek.
GOAL! Oh, what a clanger from Petr Cech there. Altintop crosses for the nth time but this time Petr Cech just dropped it when it was easier to catch it. Nihat gratefully tucks in his first of the tournament.
Czechs 2 Turks 2! Wow!
GOAL! And Nihat has won it!
Red Card! It's all happening here. The Turkish keeper has been sent off. I didn't see anything in that at first look.
The replay shows that he pushed Koller over.

Full-time: Turkey 3-2!
Another magic match ends after the 95th minute with a Turkish win. I'd like to see that winner again because I reckon that Nihat was well offside. Still, it evens up the referee's mistake with the substitution earlier. I thought that they might have left it too late but the Czechs just simply ran out of gas at the end.
The Turks will go through to meet Croatia in the next round.
