Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Are Spurs the New Chelski?

For a club who hasn't won anything in donkey's years, Spurs are certainly splashing the cash around these days. Okay, their ridiculous price tag on Robbie Keane more than made up for the Luka Modric deal. But now they're close to signing Arshavin for £21 and are still in for David Villa and countless others? Where are they getting all the lolly?

They must have a hell of a debt because last season was the same with the silly-money signing of Bent for one, and then nothing except the Carling Cup to show for it.

I know the people behind the corporate partnership have a lot of money but you would have to think that if they don't qualify for the CL this time around, they are going to suffer a consequence similar to the financial collapse at Leeds.

I hope they get another 20 mil for Berba!

I agree with you about their spending. It is getting a little ridiculous.

Did you see the score of Chelski and AC Milan?
Chelsea 5 Milan 0.
YIKES!!! Anelka scored four!

That scoreline means nowt! Italian players are the most professional in the league in that they won't risk even a broken toenaiil in some farcical tournament like that. And they're right. Just look at Wesley Sneijder. Crocked for the season and a real football not even kicked yet.

By the way, you could get a real footballer for that kind of cash. Why settle for Berbatov?

I disagree. Berbatov if he's keen on it could be the missing ingredient for United next season. It seems absurd to say this given all that they've won but they're still recovering from the loss of RVN, IMHO.

I think Berbatov could be a Cantonaish player.

Berbatov will do a great job for United - all that talent around him, he cant not score. The problem comes in December when they trail Chelsea by 5 points and every kick is scrutinised. Can Berbatov survive that? At Spurs everyone knows he carries them but United will expect it.

Where they get the money from I dont understand, i assume Roman must have paid them gazillions in compensation for stealing Frank Arnesen from them.

They have a great squad but they wont gel in time to have a serious crack at the title, but top 4 is always a slim possibility.
