The Carling Cup may be the most underappreciated in English footie but it resumes today with the big boys joining the fray and with some tasty encounters, none more interesting to me than the Leeds boys taking on Hartlepool at home.

Alright, that's not a good start. I've just run over from a workshop to find out that the first goal of the night in the Carling Cup has gone to some prat named Andy Monkhouse from Hartlepool. We're 1-0 down in the 2nd bleedin' minute.
Stoke 1 Reading 0. Great corner by Liam Lawrence is met by the head of Vincent Pericard and Tony Pulis' men have the lead.
The Arsenal vs. Sheffield United match is about to kick off and I've got the live feed ready and waiting to go.
Well, the Arsenal vs. Sheffield Utd. feed has turned into Cambridge vs. Oxford. That might be interesting for the Old School Network but not for me. I'm off for the ManYoo vs. Boro.

That's odd. The ManYoo feed has pulled up MUFCtv but they're prattling on about the match as a preview while the match has already kicked off.

Sunderland 0 Northampton 1. A real shock could be on the cards at the Stadium of Light as the Cobblers take a deserved lead through Colin Larkin's smart finish. Northampton knocked out Bolton in the last round, can they beat another Premier League team?
Finally, I've got a feed up and it's the Red Devils vs. Boro. The picture is bad and the commentators are jabbering away in Spanish but it's something. Still 0-0 at OT.
Rotherham 1 Southampton 0. Another potential upset at Millmoor where the League Two side are in front against the Championship strugglers and it's Drewe Broughton who has got the final touch in the scramble.
Liverpool 1 Crewe 0. Brilliant strike by Daniel Agger who blasts home from 20 yards out at Anfield. The Reds are happy to have the big Scandinavian back in the fold this season.
It looks like Ronaldo, Tevez and Nani have all made the start for ManYoo but no Roon or Berba.
Arsenal 1 Sheffield Utd 0. Superb passing move by the Gunners and it's one of the "experienced" players on target, Nicklas Bendtner. The Arsenal first-team would have been proud of that move.
Bloody hell! It's Leeds 1 Hartlepool 2. Joel Porter rattles the ball into the back of the net from 25 yards out and Harletpool are back in front. Cracking game at Elland Road but I'm not liking it.

I can't understand the thinking behind the coverage. Even for the neutrals, wouldn't it be more interesting to see all the unknown youngsters playing the likes of Gary Speed and James Beattie off the park?
