Champions League - Gameday 1!
It's that time again. The Champions League kicks off this afternoon. ESPN2 is treating us to Chelsea vs. Bordeaux while the Internet is treating us all to, well, all of the other matches. I've chosen Marseille vs. Liverpool. So just how many CL matches can I watch at the same time? Let's find out. Join me for all of the bewildering action.

In the other Group A match, Roma take on the unpronounceable CFR Cluj-Napoca

Panathanaikos vs. Inter
Werder vs. Famagusta
In Group C:
Barcelona vs. Sporting
Basle vs. Shakhtar
Finally, in Group D
Marseille vs. Liverpool
PSV vs. Athletico Madrid
And we're off! As always, I'll be cheering on the British sides.
Derek Rae has just mentioned that we can always watch the CL on ESPN.com. He's having a laugh! I've got Barca vs. Sporting up now.
A slow start to this one. Very cagey so far.
Mikel is showing why he's not an adequate replacement for Essien. He's coughed up the ball twice already to Bordeaux's pacey Brazilian Wendel.
Athletico Madrid have scored against PSV in the first ten minutes, the Argentinian Aguerro on the scoresheet.
Still, very little action at the Bridge.
GOAL! And just when we were all starting to drop off for a wee afternoon nap, Bosingwa crosses for Lamps to nod home his 18th CL goal.
Chelsea 1-0!
Rafael Marquez has scored a long, looping header from a corner for Barca against Sporting.
Christian Panucci has scored for Roma against Napoca. Where exactly are they from?
Anelka was set free on the right there but couldn't pick anyone out with the cross. Deco is orchestrating everything, while Bordeaux look poor.
Fernandinho has scored for Shakhtar away to Basle.
GOAL! Lamps knocks over a garden variety corner and Joe Cole sneaks in at the near post to head in Chelsea's second. The fans are starting to chant "Easy, easy, easy." And it is.
Chelsea 2-0!
Two quick goals at Marseille first from Cana for the home side and then from Gerrard for Liverpool. It's 1-1 there.
Lamps misses a sitter set up by Malouda. He could have had a hat-trick already.
Stevie G. has added a penalty on 32 minutes and the Scousers are leading in France 1-2.
Mancini has scored for Inter away to Panathinaikos.
Culio has equalized for Napoca against Roma.
The stream for Liverpool vs. Marseille is back up and running. Lovely jubbly.
Aguerro has added a second goal for Athletico.
Half time at the Bridge with last season's losing finalists on cruise control.
They've just shown the Fernandinho goal for Shakhtar - what a cracker!
Stevie G's first goal against Marseille is a peach. He wrapped his foot round the ball at the top of the D and swung it into the left corner. And the penalty looked a good call. Babbel went straight over the defender's leg. Stevie G. stuck the pen. in the bottom right corner.
Second half starting...
The coverage really couldn't be better. I've seen every goal scored in the first halfs of all the matches. Wow!
Liverpool look particularly classy tonight in an old-style red kit with no Carlsberg or other advertising logo on the shirt.
Wow - the Liverpool feed is going straight to every goal in every other game as it goes in. Culio has just added a stunning volley for Napoca and Roma are 1-2 down.
Liverpool are playing really good, flowing football. Stevie G. nearly had his hat-trick there.
The goals have suddenly dried up in the CL. The action at Stamford Bridge is at a snail's pace. Chelsea seem satisfied with 2-0.
Maniche has added a third goal for Athletico Madrid and they've laid down a marker here. 0-3 at PSV.
Bollocks has just come on for Deco, who was just booked a moment ago.
Samuel Eto'o has added a penalty and Barca are now 2-0 up over Sporting.
Joe Cole is coming off now to be replaced by Belletti, so presumably Big Phil is tightening the line-up.
Sporting have pulled one back through Leonel Tonel to make the last ten minutes there interesting. It's 2-1 in Barcelona.
GOAL! Malouda rifle's in Chelsea's third goal here. Game over. Nice touch from Lamps to play him in.
Into stoppage time with Chelsea indulging in some party pieces now. They could have strolled 4 or 5-0 today.
Rafa has made the attacking choice of bringing Robbie Keane on for the last five minutes in Marseille where it's still 2-1 Liverpool.
Marseille have just been denied a penalty. Looked like a good call by the ref.
GOAL! 4-0. Belletti launched a long shot that Rame did well to palm onto the bar, but it was easy for Anelka to tap in.
And that's it - an emphatic win for the Blues. They're singing Blue is the Color and the Bridge is a happy place tonight.
Xavi has added a third goal and that looks like a Barca win on Gameday 1.
Liverpool have also finished impressive 1-2 winners today in France. A good first gameday for the English.
Hope to catch up with some of you workaholics tomorrow for the ManYoo and Arse.
So, how was the coverage on THE website?
I had meetings after school. Today, I am off to Matt's game. I will be here when I can.
Fingers crossed.
Did you see that JT was let off from his sending off? What a rip off!!!
The coverage was brilliant. I had the Liverpool feed up from France and the geezer who was running the feed was actually jumping from game to game whenever something happened. Unbelievable stuff about JT - a complete travesty.
