Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Here are my predictions for today:
Fulham 0 Citeh 2
Arsenal 2 Wigan 0
Blackburn 0 Liverpool 3
Bolton 1 Chelski 2
Hull 2 Boro 1
Newcastle 1 Stoke 0
ManYoo 4 Sunderland 0
WBA 0 Pompey 2
Everton 2 Villa 2
West Ham 1 Spurs 2
Citeh have taken an early lead with aheader from Benjani, who is just back from injury.
Joe Hart with a great save at AJ's feet.
I don't see Robinho on the Citeh side today but they've still got loads of attacking options with Darius Vassell, Benjani, SWP and Stephen Ireland. Presumably the two Brazilians are on the bench?
Looking at the relegation end of the Premiership table, only WBA look obvious for the drop and even they have 11 points right now. In previous seasons there were clear favorites who had less than ten points at around Christmas time. You'd have to say that every side on less than twenty at this stage - from Fulham on 19 down to WBA - could conceivably be relegated. Should be an interesting dogfight at the end of the season.
I still think Sparky is for the chop in the new year. His kind of very British bulldog style just won't fit with the Emirati owners wishes in the long run. I expect Jose Mourinho to be in that job before the end of the season.
Fulham claim that Dunne handled in the box there. I thought it was ball to hand rather than the opposite. Rob Styles agrees with me and waves play on.
I lost the feed there for a moment and Fulham have scored an equalizer through Jimmy Bullard latching on to a reverse ball by Bobby Zamora. Don Fabio watching in the stands will have been pleased by that. He seems to like the look of Bullard.
That game has really opened up the match and play is now swinging end to end.
Poor old Clint Dempsey. He's been out of form and jeered at Fulham this season and he fluffed a good chance there. We'd have him back at the Revvies, of course.
Half time at Craven Cottage - 1-1.
Second half starting up with a good chance for Bobby Zamora there.
Jimmy Bullard with a decent free kick chance here....
Great shot well tipped over by Joe Hart. That would have been a cracker!
From the resulting corner, Bobby Zamora misses a complete sitter. Astonishing miss there.
Twenty minutes left in this one and it still feels like there could be a winner.
I'm surprised that neither Jo nor Robinho have been introduced yet. Citeh really need a win today.
Ah, there he is. Robinho didn't recover from a slight knock and he's pictured Didier Drogba-style rocking the iPod on the bench.
This match is rather petering out at the end with both sides seemingly happy with a point.
Fulham and Citeh have ended at 1-1, which doesn't do either side that much. Citeh are still no way near challenging for a CL spot and Fulham aren't out of danger
I'm setting up for the 3 p.m. kickoffs, including a tasty list of Div. 1 fixtures with Leeds traveling to Tranmere.
FSC are setting up for the Arsenal vs. Wigan match, while I'll be checking out the Blackburn-Liverpool online.
Leicester have taken the lead in the early kick off. That moves them to 41 points at the top of the division.
The big news out of the Liverpool camp is that Robbie Keane has been dropped from the squad. They're going with Kuyt up front alone with Stevie Gerrard tucking in behind him.
Stevie Bruce is going with both Cattermole and Melchiot in midfield, which tells you everything you need to know about how they're going to try to bottle Arsenal up today.
Blackburn and Liverpool set to kick off at Ewood Park now...
Arsenal and Wigan have kicked off at the Emirates.
As predicted, the Wigan boys are getting stuck in. I fear this will be a really different match to the one that the Arsenal kids won in a romp in the Carling Cup earlier this season.
Liverpool exerting some pressure on the Blackburn back four now.
Northhampton have taken the lead against Leyton Orient.
YESSS! Big Enoch has put us one nil up at Tranmere. A great start!
It's a good thing too as Oldham and Millwall have both jumped out to early leads and Leicester are still winning. We're just about keeping up with the Joneses. We're in fifth now, having leapfrogged Peterboro.
No goals yet in the regularly scheduled Premiership matches.
Michael Owen fires Newcastle in front at home to Stoke.
GOAL! Emmanuel Adebayor scores with Arsenal's first real chance of the game against Wigan - a right-foot shot after the ball breaks to him off Alexandre Song.
Arsenal 1-0!
Benayoun misses a golden chance there.
Arsenal are really starting to flow now and there should be some goals to come.
Anelka is back to his scoring ways with an early goal for Chelski at Bolton.
Nearly a penalty there for RVP but he was honest and stayed up.
Chelsea are well on their way to three points after a spectacular bicycle kick from Deco puts them 2-0 up at Bolton.
Bugger! Leeds have been pegged back to 1-1 at Tranmere.
Meanwhile Millwall have pulled 2-0 up. Not good.
A crunching tackle on Nasri has left him in a heap and Arsene is looking worried on the touchline.
Yes, Bristol Rovers are back in it at 2-1. Go on!
And Brighton have pegged Oldham back. A good minute or two there.
Newcastle go 2-0 in front at home to Stoke as Owen grabs his second.
Peterboro have taken the lead, knocking us back down to 7th.
Pederson is denied by a bit of Reina's fingertips and a bit of the bar. Nearly a shock goal for Blackburn.
And Samir Nasri has had enough of the Wigan hospitality. He's limping off to be replaced by Eboue.
Chelsea continue to dazzle against Bolton and Anelka almost makes it 3-0 but finds the sidenetting.
It's noticeable that Wigan are trying the Rory Delap long throw tactic against Arsenal. Hasn't worked yet.
Nearly half time now...
Hey Bob, I am here
Just got back from Rec basketball.
Adebayor nearly adds a second just before the half. His shot pings back off the post and no one was following up. Half time now...
I see that Leeds are drawing at half
Did they take the lead or come back?
I have tried to tune in Soccer Saturday but now luck
I have now gone to Veetle.com and I have the Setanta with Costa's game
Apparently, Chelskilad has been reading but not joining in with you Blue Devil!!
Let's fine him
This Setanta link for Costa's game is the English link
Some Blackburn fan was interviewed on the pitch at half time. He left his bride at the reception and will return to it after the match!
Second half underway
Blackburn looking dangerous
Apparently, Bob has buggered off because I arrived
I would Costa to drop more points today.
What is the deal with Robbie Keane? He never seems to be happy to be substituted. Has the ticked Rafa off
Uh oh, Leeds behind
Hello Bob and Dave .
Oh dear Tranmere have scored again .
Sorry Bob .
As for you Dave I was waiting for your email before I joined in .
Why can't I get Veetle ? I get sound but no picture .
Welcome Tony
Leicester are now 2-0 in front and seemingly home and dry today.
Not even an hello Dahlgren!!!!
Decent chance for Wigan at Arsenal but Emile Heskey can't get enough power or direction on his header.
Nice save by Kirkand
Sorry, lads. I didn't see you pop on. I was alone for so long there that I was just chattering with myself.
Welcome!
Tony, Bob is ignoring us!
I did indeed bugger off at the half to get a bite of lunch. How was the Rec B-ball?
About bloody time!
Come on Liverpool, stink it up
Rec was fine.
I have to be a mature father this afternoon and miss the second half of United by going to Jon's game in Saratoga,,,and your horse it naturally won
I did notice that Dave . Though I must admit I spent the whole of the first half reading but not writing . Sorry !
But what about my Veetle question ?
Thanks for the 4-0 prediction but of course the rest of your predictions are way off
go to www.veetle.com and click the first choice
We're completely snowed in here in Western NY. You?
Are you? How many inches?
No snow in Scotia
I've got the Veetle link for the Blackburn-Pool match up. Can you not get it? To be honest, Pool are boring me and I'm thinking of switching off to see if I can get SS.
Bloody hell, Costa go close
I tried to get SS but it didn't work
It's coming, mate. Get your shovel out.
We had fifteen inches yesterday and are scheduled for more today and tomorrow. It got so bad that I left my car over at the college yesterday and walked it home. I'll probably go and rescue it today.
Ii just went to the actual justintv website. Lots of choices
Melchiot finally picks up his well deserved yellow. He's been kicking lumps out of the Arsenal boys today. Still 1-0 there.
Just tried what you said . No luck ! still only sound and no picture .
Johan Elmander's scissor kick hits John Terry's arm but no penalty is given. Chelsea still lead Bolton 2-0 but the hosts are piling on the pressure as they seek a way back into the game.
Stoke get a goal back at St. James' Park
RVP with a free kick chance...just over
Fresh hope for Stoke as Mamady Sidibe cuts Newcastle's lead to 2-1 with a goal on the hour mark.
It's not the usual Veetle tied to Setanta. It's another name but it pops up with the Setanta Ireland feed.
Did you see the League Cup Semi Final draw?
Tottenham Hotspurs vs Burnley
Derby County vs Manchester United
JUST WHAT I WANTED!
Bob
Can I have some of your snow ???
I would love some of the white stuff .
Come on Wigan
Brucey is rolling the dice and sticking a half fit Amir Zaki on.
0-0 for Pool would be an excellent result for Incey... and for you lot!
BUGGER!!!
Costa have scored
GOAL! Alonso sticks in a scrappy effort. And that will just about do it for the Reds. Jammy deflection. The sign of future champions?
Leicester are three up
It is close to being LEEDS TIME
I'll do what I can, Tony!
oooh, Heskey almost gets in there.
Arsenal have hit post but they are still struggling against the pee ons
Good save by Alumnia
Twenty minutes left for the Leeds boys. We need a couple of goals pronto.
All I could hear last night was the scraping sound of plows going by. They are fairly efficient about snow removal up here.
Liverpool are really boring me now !
It is amazing how NYS can handle the snow.
If there was TWO inches in England the country closes down
Not a lot of fire power on the bench for us today with Beckford out injured.
The Arse are starting to miss some chances. They better not blow it again. Of course, I wouldn't be crushed
What is up with Charlton? They are rock bottom
What do you mean 2 inches ?
We close down with 1 .
Still no luck with Veetle .
Arsenal are dicing with death here. What are they playing at?
Sorry mate
Santa should have done better there. His header was well off the mark.
Valencia should have done better
So Sunderland are coming into OT with no manager and in the relegation zone. I'm going to for 4-0 United. You?
Peterboro are three one up against Stockport
It better not being a stirring gritty display but Sunderland.
I hope we wallop them!! We need some goals. After scoring FOUR goals in the week, will Tevez start?
Why shouldn't he. Start all three of the front men
Now Liverpool are really irritating me
It's true. I remember more Fog Days than Snow Days in England.
Costa score a second. Benayoun
GOAL! Yossi Benayoun wraps it up for Pool. Nice ball from Kuyt.
Me too, but I still don't think they will win the league
Millwall are now 3-1 up
I'd start with six front men. What are Sunderland going to do? Rio could sit in a hammock and smoke a spliff all day and they wouldn't score.
It may be up to you guys to stop them
I agree, that was what annoyed me about the Sven days of England. Everyone was talking about who would be the "holding midfielder' THEY WERE PLAYING TRINIDAD!!!!
Benni McCarthy is coming on. What have they been waiting for?
Scunthorpe get a goal against the Dons
Definitely LEEDS TIME
Boro have scored at Hull.
Tony, you must be pleased
The deadlock is broken at Hull as Middlesbrough take the lead through a back-heel from Tuncay after great play from Justin Hoyte.
Thanks, mate! The results are not going in our favor today, for sure.
Come on Blackburn !!!
Hull get one right back
Santa pulls one back for Blackburn.
Yes, I missed the goal
We've had the lion's share of the chances at Tranmere. Come on!
Millwall been pegged back to 3-2
Now Hull are beginning to irritate me as well .
You didn't miss much. It was a scrappy affair from a corner with Sami Hyppia going to sleep.
I would luv it if Rovers score.... luv it
The Dons are now two down. Not real good news. Scunthorpe are already ahead of Leeds
I believe that I'm twenty points up on the day, maybe more. I'm currently in fifth place in the Ronaldo the Slave league with Simon "Merskamp" right behind me and the Gooner and Trev well down the chart.
So would would I Kevin (sorry) Dave .
Hulll take the lead with a Pen, Wheater gets sent off
Nice Yorkshire accent there, Dave.
Excellent! That would bag me thirty points if it stood.
Heskey just heads it over
Eboue being cheered for substituted.
Silvestre now on at the Emirates. Still weird to see him in an Arsenal shirt.
Come on Rovers
Very true
Stoke !!! What is going on ?
I fear that Paul Ince is a Championship level manager at best.
Arse looking very edgy
Stevie G scores. BUGGER
Liverpool ! What a bore .
3-1 Liverpool. Stevie G. Robbo went walkies there. Horror show.
Stoke? What do you mean
Costa win
So do the Arse.. and Chelski are going to
UNITED, it is YOUR TURN
All over at the Emirates and Ewood Park. Arse and Pool both winners. Sorry Dave. Looks like Chelski will hold out for a win too.
ManYoo up next...
ahhh, Stoke tie it up
Not a good day for us either. 2-1 full time score. We're just outside the playoff spots and are losing touch with the top two now. (Sigh)
Newsflah... Arsenal's goal scored through a TITUS BRAMBLE MISCUE!!
Shocker
Full time at Tranmere.
Sorry mate
Furious Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear is sent to the stands and now Stoke are pushing for a winner!
United down to fourth as I type
Rangers 7-1 winners over Hamilton Academicals!
The Toon hold on
Come on United . Your help is needed
to make sure Liverpool don't win it .
Got to go now .
Talk to you guys later .
Thanks for your company .
Cheerio bruv
I love the Setanta Special one show.
Keano is brilliant today
United's starting line up
VDS
Rafael
Rio
Vidic
Evra
Park
Fletcher
Carrick
Ronaldo
Berbatov
Rooney
Subs
Kuszczak
Neville
Anderson
Giggs
Nani
Evans
Tevez-what does he have to do to get a start
Again, I won't be here for the whole game.
I have a basketball game to go to
I'm back from the shower. I'll be here for the duration. Warren Barton likes the Berba-Roon front line with Tev on the bench. You?
I think a place could be found for Tev. They just showed an interview with SAF and he said you need the balance. Of course, he has won quite a lot so he must know what he is doing but we're playing SUNDERLAND
Here come the teams.
What faggy music is this?
What's with the silly medieval anthem while the teams are coming out. You'd expect Henry VIII to make an appearance!
Snap!
Gordon not in goal for Sunderland
COME ON UNITED and we're off
Big Sam in for Sunderland?
500th win.
Yes please
SAF nice and comfy up in the stands after his explosion against Hull...they won!
I hate Sam
Bobby Charlton has turned Russian after we won the Cup there!
Why is the Neviller still the club captain? He never plays!
All because of an ex White!! Speed almost killed him with a tackle playing for Bolton on St. Patrick's Day '07
Battle of the Ferdie bros
This match is making me sleepy....
Shut it
Why doesn't he hang up the boots? He's had his testimonial for the club and certainly doesn't need the cash.
Come on, even the crowd is feeling sleepy. I've heard more crowd noise in a cinema.
Who's got the sillier hairstyle - Spitty Diouf or Cisse?
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
High, wide and horrible
They're both better than yours
First good chance for Berba and he turned and shot straight at the keeper. No one following up.
Nice pass by Ronaldo, Berbs should have done better
Seriously, it must be Cisse
I could stick a blue stripe on the old bonce if you like.
Rooney popping up "interesting places" (read: not in front of goal.)
Ron should have passed it to Roon
Free kick chance
