Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

I've got a Justin.tv link that I hope will pop open in a minute. Arsenal Plymouth.
I am here.
Just got back from Matt's basketball
I see that Hartlepool beat Stoke this morning.
I am now going to watch Forest Green vs Derby on the TV and will find another match to watch on the TV
Forest Green have a great chance in the first ten seconds. Terrible defending but the keeper comes to the rescue!
The Arsenal link doesn't seem to working for me. You?
I can't find a link for Arsenal Plymouth anywhere. The Justin one never seems to work any more.
Leeds were supposed to get some points today at Hereford when everyone else is in the Cup but their game has been called off
Olham have taken the lead. That won't please Robert
Good Morning Everyone .
Just thought I'd join in for a bit
Though I'll do more reading than
writing .
I'm watching Forest Green now. I'll have to find text for the Arsenal match. And check back to see if anyone's found a link.
Hilariously, I found a link to someone's webcam pointed at the telly. It could have been Ajax, Arsenal, Charlton, Nottingham Forest, any team in red-and-white from the quality of the feed.
Forest Green's stadium is a bit of fun, yeah? I'd be down there for a match in good weather.
The links for the Arsenal match changed and I went to it. It is actually a TV set!! Some foreigner sings songs in his living room. BIZARRE!!
West Ham are one up
Crewe have taken the lead against Millwall
Yeah, that's the one I found. I don't know why they bother listing that. It's a test of my patience.
Yes, Forest Green has scored!!
Nice hit!!!
Wallop. Forest Green 1-0 up.
What the hell is that shadow on the TV. Hey, at least you can see, sort of, what is happening!
Morning Bruv
Fulham have taken the lead at Hillsboro
If you go to the FA Cup Show, it is Sky Soccer Saturday
It is ahead of the TV. Something else has happened at Forest Green
United better not lose to these lot in the Semi on Wednesday!
Two nil to Forest Green!!!
That shadow looks to be cast from a stand on that side. It gets dark early mind.
What a goal for Forest Green's second. These guys are non-league?
Wednesday have equalized against Fulham
Boro have taken the lead against Barrow
Charlton are one up against Norwich
But how rubbish are Derby? Very by the look of it. Just before the telling pass to Smith, there was some yellow shirt in the midfield who completely pulled away from the FG player with the ball. Criminal.
I'm glad to hear the comments about how stupid the celebration rule is. Can't England just say "OK UEFA, bollocks to that rule in our league." What would the consequences be, I wonder?
Battle of non Leaguers
Kettering 1 Eastwood 0
The only link to the Arsenal is still that Kuwaiti's telly. Unbelievable.
Platini would do something. He hates the English!
Is the guy still singing!!
I, as I said, quit that link and am watching Soccer Saturday on the FA Cup Show link
Sod Platini. Someone really needs to stand up to him. He'd cave because he did as a player. Outrageously gifted, but singularly lacking in character. He's a pox.
Kalou scores for Chelski
According to Sky, the Arse have a strong team out. Glad to see it.
Silvestre has limped off for Arse
Totally agree with you about Michel
I dunno about singing. When I dip in and out it sounds more like he and somebody else is over-excited. It's definitely some strip of Arab that's got his webcam running.
The text picks out Nasri as bossing the show against Plymouth. I almost would prefer to win by a squeaker just to ram home the point to Arsene that a fit Song is not the solution. Buy us a player, 3 at a minimum.
Derby have a shot and it actually goes OVER the stand!
Torquay have taken the lead against Blackpool
A couple of horrible telephone lines from West Ham and Torquay Jeff Stelling have some fun with it!
I love this show
Wahey!! Spanish-speaking, but finally a proper link to the Arsenal!
I'm off to that.
It sounds like he is praying to Allah or something
Nice save by the Forest Green keeper
The Hammers score a penalty to be two up
Jesus, Plymouth just completely undid us. If their boy had stayed onside, there would have been the customary blushes.
And Eboue has a crack that skims the left post but still goes wide.
Wenger looking unhappy. I recommend retail therapy.
Forest have scored at Citeh
The game on the TV is a full THREE minutes behind my SS link.
Another goal at New Lawn
Steve..
www.atdhe.net - click on the Arse link, its not in English but the quality isnt bad.. apart from the match.
scratch that - it just links to here:
http://www.justin.tv/neo40_2
Derby with the goal
and scratch that too as i read down and see you found it too :)
Millwall have tied it up in the Cup
Ohhh, Bentdner just wide and then a moment later RVP strays just offside. Nasri is bossing this game, though a mention is due Ramsey's contribution too.
Gibbs must have entered in Silvestre's place.
This is being played in Plymouth's final 30 yards, which is promising.
Free kick and looks like RVP...
Wow, Citeh are two down at home against Forest!
Citeh in their place and just signed Bridge for a tenner...a large tenner.
Everton have taken a late first half lead at Macclesfield
Straight into the wall, but we're still getting all the chances. RVP gets away and only last gasp defending prevents an easy Eboue tap-in.
Plymouth got it into our half for the first time in five minutes. We're toying with them.
Derby tie it up!!
0-0 at the half at the Emirates. I've only been watching for 10 minutes and I've lost track of how many chances we've had. I'd recommend more of the same in the second half.
Millwall take the lead after falling behind
Bob just called the Nocito Sports Center from the airport for all the scores.
THe Arse take the lead with RVP
Well done
We're back and it's RVPPPPPP with a uncharacteristic header and it's one-nil to the Arsenal.
Arsenal 1-0 after quick second half start, Van Persie header from a corner into the roof.
Is the Gator in Buffalo?
I think so but not sure. I know he isn't home
2-0. Good build-up and it finds Bendtner with the most simple but emphatic tap-in.
Ipswich have taken the lead against Chesterfield
Chesterfield have already lost in the Cup this season.
Droysden beat them but had an ineligible player
WHAT IS GOING ON AT THE EM
2-1
And of course, comical defending from a Plymouth free kick sees us concede a goal. That will be the epitaph of this season, for sure. Plymouth undeservingly back into this game and playing it in our half.
This is no good. We're going 80 miles an hour and conceding frees and possession. Some body needs to step on the ball and keep it away from Plymouth for 5 minutes.
Ipswich are two up
Last year's finalist have taken the lead against Reading
Sunderland have taken the lead against Bolton
Coventry has taken the lead against Kidderminster
Crewe have tied it up a Millwall
What is up with the Arse? Have they taken control again?
It's been a better 5 minutes now. We've calmed things down and are using wide areas to make the Plymouth guys run around to get the ball.
Now we've got Vela and Wilshere warming up. Plymouth are fiercly challenging for every ball. I know that's what they have to do, but I'd like the ref to be more on top of the OTT stuff. No need to lose another player to injury at the moment.
Djourou is having a bit of bother with Plymouth's hoofing the ball up. I don't know if Fabianski's calling him off or what but it's worrying.
WBA have taken the lead against Young Fergie's troups
Boro two up against Barrow
Kettering 2 Eastwood 1
Sunderland two up against Bolton
Huddersfield have tied it up against Oldham in L1
Bob will be pleased
Watford have taken the lead in the Cup
See, from a free kick and a long searching cross, neither Gallas or Djourou get anywhere near it. The ball is won in the air by some green shirt and bounces sickeningly across our area.
And after that, Djourou's second best to an inswinger, and only Sagna's intervention saves us from a real chance for Plymouth.
We're ruling the possession play in the mid with Nasri and Ramsey, but once Plymouth win it back, they bash it forward and our problems begin again. How can Wenger believe that he has internal resources that can cure this?
Vela's insertion is imminent. Eboue's day is over.
Gallagher's day is over for Plymouth. Good. He was clouting any red shirt in NW6 and I'm glad to see the back of him.
Forest Green take the lead again!!!
The Hammers are three up against last season's semi finalist Barnsley. Carlton Cole scores again!!
Gibbs on the left has impressed. Plymouth are not asking him too many questions yet, and allowing him opportunities to get forward and he looks lively and composed on the ball.
Was Gallagher just substituted?
WOW, CITEH ARE THREE DOWN!!
Forest scored from a bad defensive throw in by Citeh
Forest Green have been pegged back again
Norwich tied it up at the Valley
Bolton get a fluke goal to bring it back to 2-1
Fabianski is making every Plymouth opportunity look hard. I think again, there's a big dip in quality after Almunia which sort of makes the rumors of another keeper sound plausible.
You would have to think with the number of chances that Fallon has had, that we'd pay a little more attention to where he is on the pitch. Over and over again, he's being marked by a midfielder, I think Diaby, who is not covering, and Fallon could have had a couple of goals if he weren't bog-standard 3rd tier.
Forest Green deserve a replay so that they can get a share of the gate at Pride Park. I hope it stays 3-3.
Cardiff are now two up against Reading
Steve Coppell has put out a weak team like last year.
How did that work out for you Stevie? Got knocked out of the Cup and got relegated!
Barrow get a goal get back at Boro
Agreed
CITEH
Wayne Bridge paraded before kick off and then they lay this egg!!
The Arse sew it up
Peterborough tie it up at West Brom. Well done Darren Ferguson
Derby take the lead for the first time of the day.
Must be over. Down to ten men and down a goal
Coventry go two up against another non leaguer
AJ has scored a late goal for Fulham at Sheff. Wed.
Bit of fun just there. Gibbs makes the keeper work to thump away a back-pass, and gets a deflection that falls to Nasri. Open net and Nasri's shot is going in but for a goal-line clearance.
Then Gibbs shoots just wide.
Then Nasri finds RVP who shoots on the volley, the keeper tips it up into Van Persie's path and WALLOP, it's 3-1 Arsenal.
Here comes Wilshere, possibly for Diaby who again is not impressing. But no, it's Nick Bendtner that withdraws. OK, Vela and RVP up top now, and Wilshere slots into the midfield at the right.
Vela runs onto a ball which you'd have bet he'd get. Here's a surprize. He's not quick over short ground.
And Gallas keeps finding himself in the Plymouth area and has a go. We haven't had a set piece in ages and why he's not back in defense is anyone's guess.
Free kick after some very agricultural defensive work from Plymouth. Nasri over the ball. Now it's RVP and he launches it. Ball last seen at the Stevenage roundabout.
Tractor Boys are three up
Fabianski saves from very close range. Again, comic central defending from Arsenal. Really lucky there.
WBA and Peterborough
OH MY GOD!!
CHELSEA 1 SOUTHEND 1 in injury time!!
The stats just came up. 16 shots for Arsenal and 8 for Plymouth, and every one of those Plymouth ones save their goal has been scrambled away inelegantly by Arsenal. You hate to think what a struggling bunch like Wigan, or Blackburn would do to us in a similar situation.
Anyway, WBA and Peterboro have drawn
Cardiff 2 Reading 0 result
Fulham have won
Forest have won
Sunderland have won
Go on you Southend!!!! Force a replay and more pressure on Big Phil
hull and n'castle draw nil nil
Derby have finally won 4-3. What a shame.
Let's hope United can stuff them
Chelsea have drawn
so have the Cup Holders
Seven minutes of added time at the Riverside and Barrow have been dominating
Everton are through
Torquay beat Blackpool
Boro are in the hat
A little rest and then all root for North End!!
Arsenal finish 3-1 winners.
I am happy with a win, but not happy with all the chances Plymouth were given. A better range of strikers would have posed more questions.
It's obvious that we need to bring in a world class defender to groom Djourou. I think Sagna, Djourou, and Clichy, with back-up options of Gibbs, and Hoyte is the future. If we can raise even 500K for Gallas from some Italian outfit, we should take it.
In the midfield, Arteta would slot in immediately and his friendship with Cesc would help keep him at Arsenal. Nasri is a left-sided guy ill-suited in a central role. Diaby is weak, Wilshere is too young, ditto Merida. I'd like to hear this week about a deal for Arteta.
We still need a strong hand in midfield. Song and Diaby aren't it. Kolo's malaria seems to have f****d him up, possibly ruined him or I'd try him there.
Up front, Adebayor, RVP, Bendtner, Vela, with Eduardo's return would be the envy of most sides in the Prem. If we chose to sell Nick and bring in Arshavin, that would be interesting too.
All-right, I'm off to get a few items sorted that I've neglected over the holidays.
Cheers Davey, this was fun.
Congrats and take care
Hey lads, I'm home in time to catch most of the first half of PNE and Liverpool.
All eyes on Steven Gerrard today, who has inevitably been booed at every touch by the Deepdale faithful.
Robbie Keane misses a complete sitter from Liverpool's first real chance on 12 minutes. Brilliant run and cross from Riera.
After weathering some Liverpool pressure, PNE are starting to mount some decent attacks through ex-Red Neil Mellor, who would dearly love to score today. Good open attacking match so far.
GOAL! Albert Riera has been Pool's best player so far and he's put them in the lead with a screamer after a corner.
Half-time: Liverpool 1-0.
Liverpool really should be three or four up after Robbie Keane missed a hat full of chances. The commentator is putting it down to Rafa's rotation system but there really is no excuse for Keane's profligacy.
Robbie Keane finally makes way for Fernando Torres who hasn't played since the CL match in November against Marseille.
It's amazing that the home side is still in this one, but they could still scramble in a cheap one at the death.
This last ten minutes won't do Rafa's constitution any good at all.
Into stoppage time now at Deepdale.
Stevie G. sets up Fernando Torres with an easy chance for Liverpool's second. That'll finish it.
Full time: Liverpool 2-0 winners.
Rafa had a few scares late on but in the end the Reds are through to the fourth round draw on Monday.
Sorry that I missed all the chatter earlier today. I'll hope to hear from some of you during tomorrow's matches.
