Bob, if you're up, what's the URL for that VSS site?

Hey Steve
I have the Veetle Setanta link going strong. It is Setanta Sports News right now but the Arse are on at 8:30

I haven't been able to get the VSS link to work

Good luck

The show is starting right now

I got the Setanta link through p2p

Knock the stuffing out Boro please

We have them next week. That match is in between two other certain matches!

SAF in the crowd

Morning Dave,

Good result for you yesterday. I've got Veetle working well too, but Bob's been banging on about how good this new site is.

The superheroes in the crowd are pretty funny.

Teams are coming out of the tunnel

8:29 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I saw those superheroes too.

I have like the VSS website but I have been able to get it to work recently. Nothing worked yesterday

I was a lot happier at full time than I was at half time

I hope somebody can cope with Aliadiere today. I'm tired of his record against us.

8:32 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Really, he has scored some against you?

I think you are going to wallop them today

And we are off... and I am off to the loo

8:34 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Dave, he's a different player against us. He's got a chip on his shoulder--it probably developed during all that time in the treatment room at Highbury--against us.

Honestly, if he'd taken his chances, we'd have never had to piss around with the Reyes transfer.

I just wish one of our defenders remembered how to defend against him.

8:39 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

They're mentioning the 7-0 thrashing we dished out to these guys. I've got it on VHS somewhere. That's a keeper. Might have been Edu's final goalstrike for us. I know Henry got a couple.

8:41 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

In the clear, Walcott got caught by Huth. He must have taken it very wide to have that happen. Nothing from the resulting corner.

8:42 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I'm back

Have I missed anything?

8:42 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

It ticks me off when these hopeless teams play well against the big guns.

Boro always play us tough
They beat Costa too
Why don't they play like that against Bolton? No they lose 4-1

8:44 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Fab is up... looks okay

8:44 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Just ridiculous that the ref missed that foul from Downing.

I don't know about malice, but Downing should have been called up for just a very bad decision to tackle Cesc from behind.

8:45 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Arsene wondering if he should rest him

8:45 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

I think Boro's players get up for big teams because they imagine that Boro's chances of staying in the Prem are limited and therefore they should put themselves about when everyone's watching. They go down and it's the door for Downing, Tuncay, Alves, Aliadiere, just to name four.

Mark Lawrenson said that Bendtner was one of Arsenal's best players on Tuesday
Did you see it?

8:48 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

If we'd have pulled out all 3 points on Tuesday, no doubt we would have seen a different looking squad today.

8:49 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Get the shot off!!!

8:49 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

He played with more enthusiasm, but again his final product... the pass, the free header, the shot were all awry.

As long as he tones down the lip, I think he's one to keep faith with, especially when RVP is so very brittle, and Adebayor, so inconsistent this season without his buddy Cesc putting it on a plate for him.

Nick tends to be a bit mouthy, so if a big offer came in for him, we'd have to consider it very carefully.

8:52 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

He does needs to shut up a little.
He isn't as good as he thinks he is

8:54 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

This is a slowish start by Arsenal. They are usually all over teams early... not necessarily scoring but having the chances. That hasn't been there today

Do they care about the league? 4th is pretty much set in stone

8:56 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Speaking of mouthy, did you catch Harry after the match yesterday? Someone should remind him that his side were scored on 3 more times after that penalty decision.

If their hearts were broken by that decision as early as it happened, well, they weren't likely to turn you over, were they. After all, they came back from 4-2 down against us with 6 minutes left.

Those Rednapp's are the clown first-family of football.

Today is a day to give Eduardo and possibly Vela a go.

FABREGAS!!!!!

8:59 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Goal!!

Nice build up and great finish

Game over?

8:59 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

What the hell is Nick doing at the end however? That's been given as offside in my memory. What a pillock.

9:01 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I did see 'Arry's comments.
There was a slight touch on the ball but he did take out the player too.
United didn't get the pen last week at Wembley

9:01 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Downing should have done better with that cross.

I don't see what people see in him

Players ask for handball... so did the color man

9:04 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

That was a handball by Bendtner!

9:05 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

No, we've only got 40% of our first-choice back five on the pitch, and a very overworked Denilson helping out as the holding player.

We need two more, though I'd say another hat-trick from Arshavin would bring into question UEFA's mad rule that cup-ties him from playing in our semis and final game in the CL. I'd change the rule so that he couldn't play against Zenit, but I don't see what's served by keeping him out of the competition in the late stages.

Man, don't like that replay.

9:05 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Shoot Theo

9:05 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I don't like the cup tied rule but thrilled about it for midweek!!!

9:06 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Boro have never lost at the Em?

9:06 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Theo shouldn't have shot there. Nick was in the middle

9:07 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

I wish he'd played that cross into Nick's path. Bendtner needs a tally for his confidence.

Yes, Theo's put those away before, but...

9:08 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

How did the ref not see that handball?
He was right there.

9:09 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Nope, they've had a good record of draws at the Emirates.

Dang, a few queuing up for that cross, but....

9:09 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

So what if you don't like each other! Just play!

Coley and Sherry never spoke to each other. United were pretty successful

9:10 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Ref Moore's got previous in the blind to the offense department.

Downing at the beginning of the match, yes?

9:10 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

absolutely

9:11 AM

That's commentating cobblers. We play as a team.

Sharp stop by Alumnia after Kolo's lazy defensive header back into play.

9:17 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Hey Bob, welcome. Dave's playing groundskeeper in his bedroom, but flitting in and out.

We scored a nice one, but we're definitely taking it too easy and could have been punished. The ref's having another 'mare.

I'd like to see Eduardo and Vela get a chance at the hour mark. I imagine Song could feature for a few minutes too.

I loved the Arshavin celebrations at Anfield on Wednesday.

After the hat-trick - three fingers up to the Kop and wobbly head.

After the fourth - four fingers up to the Kop and even wobblier head.

LiveVSS.net. It hasn't been that good this weekend, but it's usually the place that I start the search. It has one main screen that usually shows the big match and then there are separate links for other events.

One word of warning, though: there seems to be some porn embedded in some of the links, so it's not safe for work.

9:31 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

I saw a great goal-celebration by these kids playing on the RFK pitch in a half-time mini game. Modeled on the Karate-Kid Crane-style attack. Very funny from the under twelves.

9:32 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Right - I just sent you the mash-up to your Gmail account.

9:34 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Djourou on for Silvestre. Just as well, eh?

9:36 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Second half ready to rock and roll here. Go on you Gunners!

9:37 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Wowzer! You weren't kidding about the porn. That's really annoying. I can't risk that at work. I can rarely risk that at home either.

9:38 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Fabregas wins a corner after a slick move.

9:38 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Yeah, I reckon you can risk the main channel at home but not at work.

9:39 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Oh yes. Sly's not a fan favorite at the moment. Djourou's a better option.

9:39 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Bendtner wins another corner. Arsenal all over Boro here. Newcastle have a real chance if they beat Pompey tomorrow.

9:41 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Yeah, Silvestre's definitely passed it. I can see using him as a back-up in a pinch but not as a regular.

9:42 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Man, it's very quiet at the Emirates today when you can hear the keeper's shout like that.

Bloody hell, Aliadiere with a hell of an opportunity again.

9:43 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Good save, Almunia. Aliadiere always gets up against you lot. Incredible - the commentator says that Jeremie hasn't scored since your last visit in December. How does he keep his place?

9:44 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

I does often sound like a cricket ground at the Emirates. Stamford Bridge is even quieter, though, especially on CL nights.

9:45 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

How's Theo been today?

9:45 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

How does Aliadiere keep his place? He's at 'Boro.

9:46 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Theo's been half-pace. I'd guess he's thinking about mid-week.

9:47 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Hah, Wheater pledging to the club if they go down. He's been at the heart of the goal-shipping defense all year. That's very big of him and I'm sure a comfort to all in 'Boro.

9:49 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Honestly, do these commentators think Marlon King has a better finish than that in his locker? He did well to just get it on target rather than in the director's box.

9:54 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

What do you reckon about UEFA's cup-tied player rule?

9:55 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

HEY FELLAS

I guess you guys left for the second match

I tried to come back and watch the Arsenal and as soon as I sat down I lost the internet and I got it back at the final whistle of the Blackburn game

Very frustrating

Good win for you guys Steve

May you fall hard on Wednesday.. nothing personal but!!

12:58 PM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Hiya, Dave. Sorry I flitted in and out today. I got a late start on it and then there was a wireless outage with Time Warner in this area.

I'm happy with the Arsenal win, which puts a lot of pressure on Boro. Not happy with the win for Blackburn, which lifts them almost to safety.

A Newcastle win tomorrow is a must. That would almsot certainly doom Boro and WBA. Then it's a matter of one from Newcastle, Hull and Sunderland. Should be a thrilling run in.
