Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Bret Michaels Meets Prop of Love

Leaving aside the issue of why exactly hair band Poison were invited to perform at the Tony's on Sunday night, viewers were left with the indelible image of lead singer Bret Michaels (yes, he of "Rock of Love" fame) meeting the business end of a wooden prop, thus setting up a decent one-liner for the Doogie Howser guy. Enjoy!

According to austin360.com, "'Rock of Ages' celebrates 1980s hair music and features songs by Journey and other bands. It stars Constantine Maroulis as an aspiring rock star." Poison was performing one of their songs, which is included in "Rock of Ages".

I watched the Tonys on Sunday and had no idea Michaels got clocked. Thanks for letting me watch it again. And again... (grin)

Ah, that explains it. I had forgotten that rock and pop music has recently infiltrated Broadway in a big way with the shows based on Queen, Billy Joel and Abba. Give me "South Pacific" any day.

Thanks for the clarification.
