Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The three groups in the first stage:
Group A:
Canada
Costa Rica
El Salvador
Jamaica
Group B:
U.S.
Grenada
Honduras
Haiti
Group C:
Mexico
Nicaragua
Panama
Guadelupe
The U.S. fittingly start their campaign on the 4th of July at 2 p.m. EST in the Qwest Field, Seattle against Grenada. So stick a dog or two or the BBQ and tune in with me.
Well, well, well. An interesting start to the Gold Cup with plucky El Salvador defeating top of the CONCACAF qualification Costa Rica 2-1 last night to go to the top of Group A.
Didn't you love the ruck between the benches and the pitch invasion? No love lost between the Ticos and Salvadorans.
But what impressed me is how toothless CR looked. Deny them a plastic pitch, and they're pants.
Unfortunately, I didn't catch last night's match, just the result, so I missed the great ruck. I'll try to catch the highlights on FSC.
I'm not sure about tonight's match either. It may have to make way for the fireworks display over Lake Erie. I desperately need a DVR.
The U.S. moved to the top of Group B qualifying last night with a stonking 4-0 win over Grenada with goals from Stuart Holden, Robbie Rogers, Freddy Adu and Charlie Davies.
Honduras beat Haiti 1-0 in Group B action. I still haven't caught up with the match, so I'd be interested to hear accounts from those of you who did.
Mexico broke their rotten run of form last night with a serviceable 2-0 win over Nicaragua. The surprise of the tournament so far saw Guadelupe defeating Panama 2-1.
