Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The good feelings engendered by the U.S.'s thrilling run to the Confederations Cup final reached the desk of the Colbert Report last night. While Stephen traded in some of the usual stereotypes about the Beautiful Game, he also gave us a laugh or two and ended the segment by interviewing Lexi Lalas and predicting a win for the U.S. next summer. Enjoy!

Lalas was exactly the right face to represent US Soccer. During the Confed Cup, I really appreciated his deviation from the
Rob Stone, Christian Miles like inanity that we've had to put up with for so many years.

Agreed - I fear that Lexi is not much of a businessman but he's a rational presence in the media box. Interesting how that generation produced more media figures (Waldo, Harkesy, Lalas) than coaches.
