Back to the Prem
After a highly satisfying international break, we're back to the regular Saturday Premier League routine, with two of the most intriguing fixtures yet in this early season. At 10 a.m. ESPN2 is favoring us with Arsenal visiting Mad Citeh (t.m. S. Dahlgren) and at 12:30 p.m., FSC is showing ManYoo visiting the flying Spurs.
Join me for all the action!

My predictions for today's matches:
Blackburn 1 Wolves 1
Liverpool 2 Burnley 0
Citeh 2 Arsenal 2
Pompey 1 Bolton 0
Stoke 1 Chelski 3
Sunderland 1 Hull 1
Wigan 1 West Ham 1
Spurs 3 United 3
Sky Sports are finishing up coverage of the SPL here, with Motherwell grabbing a 0-0 draw with Rangers.
Gillingham are 2-0 up over Millwall in L1. The most interesting match in L1 today features second placed Charlton against Southhampton, who are currently languishing rock bottom with -6, having only gained 4 points on the season.
Hey Bob
I am here.
We have two Manchester v North London battles today.
I will be here for the early ones. You said it was Citeh Arsenal on ESPN2. I thought it was Costa Burnley. FSC have Stoke Chelsea.
I will miss my lot playing. I will tape it. I am going to Tom's game at 1
I have the same Sky Sports link going that you do
Bloody Hell
THREE THREE!!!!!
You are predicting some goals at WHL
The Sky Link is going to rugby.... bugger
I found this link on Justin TV of SS
http://www.justin.tv/mcfcguvnors7
I can't get sound though
I found another one
It is the first link for Soccer AM Preview on VSS
I agree - bugger with the rugger, even if it is at Wembley. I'm on the FSC preview show right now and looking forward to plenty of goals. Don't you reckon there is some firepower on both sides at Shite Fart Lane today?
Thanks for the link for SS on VSS, mate.
Our old boy Matthew Kilgallon has nodded the Blades into the lead at Derby. Unfortunately, they're running well today.
Off to the shower Be back in a tic
Right you are, sire.
The ESPN preview show is starting up finally. Those boys need to give us more than five minutes of blather. But I do love the match coverage. Oh dear, I seem to have made a mistake on the original post. It's the Liverpool vs. Burnley match on ESPN and the bleedin' Stoke match on FSC. Shame - who's got the Citeh vs. Arse?
The Kop looking festive as usual todayy. Nice weather in Scouseland.
SS has gone for a break as Liverpool kick off against Burnley at Anfield.
Arsenal at Citeh here http://www.magedtv.net/ch1.html
Morning chaps.
Costa and Burnley are on ESPN
Stoke Burnely on FSc
I am looking for Citeh on the computer
Liverpool/Burnley here. I'll be out most of the morning, my son gets back to swimming lessons.
It's Chris Kamara at Fratton Park. Good choice!
Morning, lads. Sorry about that earlier scheduling error. I could've sworn that ESPN were advertising Citeh-Arse earlier in the week.
I had to switch to Iraqgoals because Magid's Justin link got busted.
Nice link for Citeh-Arse - cheers, Gooner!
I have the Citeh Arse match on VSS
http://www.livevss.net/channel_3.php
ESPN lost the feed. Geez, better off watching on the laptop :)
ESPN having technical difficulties!
ESPN have lost their satellite link with Anfield, which means we get a bit of the scrumptious Georgie Bingham in the studio with Robbie Mustoe.
Each side feeling each other out here at the COM. Adebayor getting attention from the away support and whining about Song's tackling.
ESPN are back at Anfield. Somehow, I prefer having a gander at Georgie. She's certainly better looking than Jamie Carragher.
Adebayor allowed to elbow Gallas in the back but he couldn't get past the next defender.
Celtic losing at home
Rangers only drew today against Motherwell.
Motherwell had a penalty saved as well
Ade leaves his foot in on Fab
Adebayor and Fabregas having a nibble at each other. No love lost there.
Bolton getting most of the chances at Fratton Park
COME ON POMPEY
But he doesn't get away with the late tackle on Cesc. Yellow card to the wanker Adebayor.
Sunderland get a penalty....
Penalty at Sunderland...for the home team... scored
Darren Bent slots home for Sunderland. They're 1-0 up against Hull.
Bolton are leading at Fratton
Damn, if that had hit Gallas in the butt, or he'd been able to let it slip off his shin, it would likely carom in. His header though, woefully over.
Chris Kamara with an excellent description of Bolton's opening goal against the woeful Portsmouth. There goes my prediction.
John Barnes' Tranmere take the lead!
Boro are beating the Tractor Roys
Big Nose Phil describes Gallas as "the great striker that he is..." Excellent stuff.
I like ESPN having the scores on the bottom of the screen
Taxi for Keano?
I went to Steve's link and it has gone out.. you guys?
Young Fergie's lot have taken the lead at Loftus Road
Yeah - anyone have a good link for the Citeh-Arse?
Has there been a lot of bookings at the Bluecamp?
Arsenal must have hired that net sheriff guy. I've been bouncing from dead link to dead link. Now I'm watching it on what looks like a cell-phone video. Sagna sees yellow for a cynical block.
Citeh have taken the lead!
Oh dear - Citeh have taken the lead just as our links have packed in. Big Nose Phil indicates that it's gone in off Almunia's head.
Own Goal by Almunia!
I have my link back working
Blackburn take the lead against Wolves
Blackburn have taken the lead over Wolves. Lots of early goals in the Prem.
Crap. Richards loops in a header from that free that Sagna gave away. Alumunia should have done a lot better IMHO. He barely got to it, pushed it onto the post and then it hit him on the rebound and in.
Bags of time yet. I've got four goals in that match and six at Shite Fart Lane later on.
Oooh, Benayoun misses a free header from a Stevie G. cross. Should have been 1-0 to the Reds.
It was Spitty Diouf with the goal for Blackburn.
At the Britannia Stadium, Salomon Kalou has been booked for trying to block Rory Delap's long throw - how will Chelsea combat that threat from now on?
Yes, Pompey have scored!
Pompey are level. Younis Kaboul "like a kangaroo" (in Kamara's words) leaps up and heads home the equalizer.
Costa take the lead!!
Yossi with the goal... it happened seconds before it did on SS... well done ESPN
GOAL! Benayoun puts Liverpool 1-0 up with a neat finish into the low left side.
Oooh, Benayoun nearly had a second there with a diving header.
Costa almost score again! Good couple of saves by the keeper
What is up with Burnley's start to the season
Stoke then United, Everton, Chelsea and Costa
How will Chelsea combat that threat? Ooooh, I dunno, mark up the Stoke guys trying to get on the end of it? Honestly, this party trick is nothing more interesting than Blanco's bunny hop, Grobbelar's penalty saving antics. Just defend the set-piece and Rory Delap will have to move to Australia or the MLS to continue his career.
LiveVSS site is coming up with "Account Has Been Suspended!" I've still got the SS link going strong though.
I had that yesterday... I think it was some kind of porn site for some reason!
I could never use LiveVSS at work because of all the porn that would link.
It is happening to me to this morning.
Again, this happened yesterday but was okay a bit later,
Be patient
http://atdhe.net/9202/watch-manchester-city-vs-arsenal
for the Citeh-Arse match.
Who is in Citeh's team?
Belamy and not Tev?
STOKE SCORE!!!
Useless by Cech!
Merson is yelling at and it's a goal for Stoke. Major clanger from Cech.
1-0 Stoke at the Britannia!
Of course, Cheslki have fallen behind in quite a few games this season and still won
Not a lot of goals in L1, which suits me. Charlton are on top through goal difference and then there is a five point gap with the challengers.
Just looked up the Citeh side.
Very strange!
Tev not on the bench... resting after midweek?
Has Santa Cruz gotten a game yet? Is he hurt?
Tevez picked up a knock in the Argentina loss the other night. It's Adebayor up front with Bellamy and SWP, Ireland, Barry and DeJong bombing forward.
365 were musing that Carlito was going to bottle out of the Manc derby next weekend with an "injury."
The Battle of the W's is the only game without a goal so far in the Prem
Burnley getting some possession at Anfield
I keep losing my feed. Now onto a clear but annoying Chinese language one.
GOAL! Dirk Kuyt knocks in Liverpool's second after the keeper parries it.
Costa score again. Kuyt nets the rebound. Burnley complain it was offside... it was VERY close!
Yeah, it's a French Canal+ link up through Atdhe.
The link you posted is working fine for me
Bolton retake the lead.. Pompey old boy Matty Taylor with a pen
Bolton picks up a penalty against Pompey.
1-2 there.
Good save Jensen from a Stevie G. strike.
Great save at Anfield from a Gerrard shot
Ta. this died on me before, but it's back.
SWP wriggles through the Arse defense but just runs out of room.
We totally miss Arshavin's trickery in this match. Bloody Russians.
Half time now. I'm off to the Farmer's Market. Back asap.
Hurrah - Soton are 0-1 up! We're back on top!
Drogs has leveled it in stoppage time at the Britannia.
I am back from signing the boy up for rec soccer
Blackburn two up
Well done with Sotton
Bugger about Chelski
Wigan take the lead against the Hammers
Rosicky made his return during one of Majed's outages. Don't know who for. Gallas and Fabregas have come close in this half.
Sagna went off
Goal for Costa... great run by Gerrard... taped in by Yossi
Vermaelen made Given work for the save and RVP couldn't wriggle away clear for a follow up.
Free kick chance for RVP
Benayoun, most underrated player in the prem? He's been terrific everywhere he's landed.
I agree
RVP scores!!!
Pompey score!
GOAL!!!!!
I thought Rosicky's pass was too short, but RVP steals in, keeps his balance, and turns and fires in one fluid movement. First class technique.
I like all these draws!
ESPN having trouble again... COME ON.. YOU'RE THE
"WORLDWIDE LEADER IN SPORT"!!!
Citeh have renewed energy now, but hopefully justice will prevail. C'mon you reds!!!!
Tractor Roys are two down.... is he in trouble?
Surely, they will give him time
Huth heads just over for Stoke!
Given gets landed on by two players... hurts his back.. maybe he won't be fit for next week!
Sunderland 3-1 up
Off to take Tom to his bus for his game
Be back in a tic
Palace are 4 nil down at home... wonder what Warny will say about this!!
I'm back!
Charlton have tied it up with Soton unfortunately.
So far I'm having a hopeless day at the predictions. In the hole by 25 points. Bugger!
Oh dear - Craig Bellamy has shot Citeh into the lead again. One more equalizer for the Arse and I'll have my prediction spot on. Come on the Arse!
4-0 Liverpool! Benayoun's hat-trick!
Shaun Wright-Phillips blows a gilt-edged opportunity to seal the three points for Manchester City against Arsenal, but they still lead 2-1 in this absorbing contest at Eastlands.
If it wasn't already over before at the Stadium of Light, it certainly is now - a goal from Sunderland's Michael Turner against his old club.
4-1 Sunderland now.
Blimey - Keano's Tractor Boys are 3-0 down.
Manchester City are making their intentions clear as potential title contenders as Emmanuel Adebayor scores their third against Arsenal to make the game safe. He's been booked for his celebrations but he won't care come the final whistle.
Blimey - it's 4-1 Citeh now. Sorry Gooner. Not your boys day, unfortunately.
Chelski are pouring it on but are still at 1-1 with Stoke. This would definitely be two dropped points.
I am back... what did I miss?
Blackburn are 3-1 up against Wolves
How are Charlton doing?
Well, you missed at least a couple of goals at COM.
OH MY GOD!!
FOUR ONE!! WHAT HAPPENED!!!
Make that 4-2
4-2! Rosicky with the Arse's second. Game on?
Costa have four
Bolton retake the lead at Fratton Park... BUGGER
Oh, RVP nearly made it 4-3!!
Why is the game at Stoke 6 minutes behind Costa's. Is that FSC at work
ooh, Arse go close again. They could have scored two since I got back
Blackburn win
Sven's men win 5-2
Costa win 4-0
It's all over at Anfield and Burnley will be slinking back on the bus without their chippy dinner after that shellacking.
Did you ever answer me... Charlton have tied it up
Ipswich have pulled one back but that won't save Keano will it?
COME ON STOKE... HOLD ON!
Pompey lose again
Citeh beat Arsenal
Dunno if FSC are behind the play or if it's just something that got delayed. Sorry.
Celtic could take advantage of Rangers' draw. They draw at home too
Charlton only draw with Sotton. Still tied at the top.
What about the chasing pack?
It's nearly over at the Britannia now and it'll be Chelski perfect record gone. That will give Spurs the chance to go top with a win against United. Right, Dave?
How much injury time at Stoke?
Come on Stoke!
It's looking good for us in L1. Charlton will go top with that draw. That's okay for me. But Bristol Rovers are four points back after a late winner. Huddersfield are five points back after a 0-0 draw.
Lamps has a shot blocked after it was given away!
Wigan beat WHU
Second consecutive corner comes to nothing.
I guess FSC aren't behind... it is just late
BLOW UP!!
They're doing the classified check before the Stoke match is over?!
BLOODY HELL!!!
CHELSEA SCORE!!
Maoulda with the goal
Bugger - Malouda has won it with a jammy one through the crowd. How do they do it?
93rd MINUTE!!!!
SS switches from the classified check over to ads.
keeper should have saved it!!
So Chelski will stay top with 15 points. Amazing. Spurs still have a chance to go level with a win, right Dave?
Link switched to Spurs United game from ESPN
Chelsea win
Chelski players celebrating as if they've won the Cup.
I'm off for a bite to eat ahead of the late match.
1705: TEAMS Tottenham v Man Utd
Tottenham: Cudicini, Corluka, King, Bassong, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Huddlestone, Palacios, Defoe, Crouch, Keane. Subs: Gomes, Hutton, Bentley, Jenas, Pavlyuchenko, Naughton, Kranjcar
.
Man Utd: Foster, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, Scholes, Anderson, Giggs, Berbatov, Rooney. Subs: Kuszczak, Owen, Carrick, Nani, Fabio Da Silva, Jonathan Evans, Valencia.
Happy with that side, Dave?
COME ON UNITED!!!
I am off to Thomas' game.
I am taping the game and watching it later
Take Care eveyone
TTFN
Best of luck to Thomas today. Talk to you later, mate!
Teams in the tunnel. Shite Fart Lane looking super today.
Blimey - 'Arry isn't pulling his punches today. He's got a front line of Defoe and Crouch, with Lennon, Keane, Palacios and Huddlestone tucking in behind. Are there any defenders on the pitch for Spurs? There must be goals in this one.
GOAL! Defoe with a Pele style overhead in the first minute! Wow - what a start!
1-0 Spurs. They are flying!
I wait a minute before I leave and UNITED ARE LOSING!!
HOPELESS!!
Scholes should have done better there!!
I am really leaving now!
Scholes comes romping down the pitch and launches one just wide. Maybe my 3-3 prediction was a wee bit conservative?
Ooh, now it's Fletcher straight in on Cudocini who saves well. Breathless start here.
Crouchie tries a volley from around about the Seven Sisters Tube Stop. That shows the belief in the Spurs side this season. I can't believe this is the same team that couldn't get a win to save their lives last season.
Everything's going through Scholes for United. Long ball to Rooney just doesn't come off.
Lennon nearly finds Crouch on the six yard line. Good clearance from Vidic.
The game is wide open at the fifteen minute mark. Great advert for the Premier League on FSC.
Good skill from Crouch and another volley on target.
Wilson Palacios hacks not one but two United players there, including upending Berba to the delight of the WHL faithful.
Giggs knocks one in and its flicked on by Berbatov. Well saved.
Lennon was tackled well by Scholes on the edge of the box. He had to get that one right. It looked like a replay of the pen that he won for England on Wednesday.
Some needle coming into the match and the ref will have to produce some cards in a moment. Corluca going in hard on Evra and then Evra giving him a little headbutt in retaliation. No cards as yet.
Anderson's high boot now catches Robbie Keane on the thigh. A bit painful no doubt. They need to stop fouling and get back to the open play we saw in the first fifteen.
Giggs lining up a free kick....
And it's sailed in!
1-1!
Brilliant move by United ends with a raking shot by Berba that's tipped over by Cudo.
Crazy sequence there in which Roon and Berba should have probably scored United's second.
Lennon jinks inside the box and is brought down. Big shout for a penalty. Should have been a free kick just outside the box. Vidic definitely caught him. Spurs have a corner. And ooh, Crouch fired a free header wide.
Defoe with another shot on the turn and Foster saves well. End to end stuff again. Brilliant match.
Five minutes left in the half and bothy sides look as if they're coasting into the interval. No one wants to make a big mistake at this stage of the game.
GOAL! United lead through a thumping strike. It's his first Premiership goal for United!
1-2 United!
We'll see now if Spurs are flattering to deceive or whether they've got the strength to win something this season.
Vidic finally earns the ire of the ref and he's gone into the book.
Half-time: United up 1-2 and Fergie must be delighted with the way his side has responded.
Side half starting up. A big test for Spurs here.
Sixty minutes gone and United are hanging on to a slender lead with Spurs pouring on the pressure.
GOAL! United have wrapped up a great with a super goal for Rooney.
1-3!
Nani coming on to replace Anderson.
