Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Transfer Deadline Day!

It's deadline day for transfer in European footie, with the transfer window closing in a matter of minutes at 5 pm GMT. Of course, I'm on pins and needles, looking to see if some Premier League club will scoop up Jermaine Beckford. I'm still hoping that we'll have him until the end of the season, at which point we'll be a Championship level side and will be happy to see him off to a big club on a free.

What other moves are you lot watching?

Some of the biggest deals of the day:

David Nugent from Blackburn to Burnley
Richard Dunne from Citeh to Villa
Nico Kranjar from Pompey to Spurs

Also Everton are close to securing the services of Dutchman Johnny Heitinga.

Tal Ben Haim has gone from Citeh to prop up the porous Pompey defense.

As of midnight GMT, it looks as if Jermaine is still a Leeds United player from what I'm reading.

That plus we've picked up two players today, a South African from the SJ Earthquakes and a local boy. Not bad work, Simon!

Well done!

Now, get so far ahead by January that JB won't want to leave

I was following the window shutting on Sky Sports News.
FSC had SSN on for two hours either sided of the deadline.
Well done FSC

Well done, FSC indeed. Now if they would just answer my angry emails....

As for Leeds, we're equaled our best start to the season. If we win again on Saturday we'll have broken the record held by the '73/'74 championship side. Wow!
