Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Hammers Face Ground Closure

In the aftermath of those ugly scenes on Tuesday evening, West Ham United are facing sanctions from UEFA. While I think that Millwall fans were likely the instigators, most of the pitch invaders were unfortunately Hammers fans. It also didn't help that Stanislas chose to brainlessly celebrate his goals in front of the opposing fans. What should happen to West Ham, then?

Look, there simply should not be any Millwall v. West Ham matches. Period. Full stop. If they get drawn together in the cup, there should be a random draw and one or the other should advance. If they are in the same division of the football league, each team should get a win for their home fixture and the games should not be played. The two firms of these clubs will never, ever not instigate mayhem. To face disciplinary action from the FA is absurd. There is nothing the club could do to stop violence when the firms are involved.

Well put, WHR. Best of luck to the Hammers in the UEFA hearings.

I'll go further. There should be no Milwall period. Just start proceeding and wrap them up for good.

That would suit me too. It's certainly no fun with our Leeds fans - no angels either - get together with their firm.
