Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

I have United on the computer and Milan Madrid on the TV instead of Chelski
Read took the lead but Milan have just tied it up
CSKA took the lead, Owen ties it up but Moscow retake the lead immediately
I have got Martin and Andy on my VSS link going strong.
i wish United would play better. They only need a draw
United's line up
Man Utd: Van der Sar, Neville, Brown, Evans, Fabio Da Silva, Valencia, Fletcher, Scholes, Nani, Macheda, Owen. Subs: Kuszczak, Evra, Anderson, Rooney, O'Shea, Obertan, Gibson.
Bloody hell, mate. What's going on with United? They're 1-2 down going into half time.
Into one added minute at OT
United starting to have a bit of pressure
Half time
Come on UNITED!!!
Did you see any of the goals? Was Owen's goal any good?

Oh, and QPR are leading Palace 1-0 in the Championship if you're bothered.
Second half underway
United attacking the Stretford End
United are now 1-3 down.... WHAT IS GOING ON??
We're back underway with United kicking off. No changes made at half-time.
I though it was a pen to United.. it was a cast iron penalty and the ref blows for the dive!!
NO WAY!!!
COME ON UNITED!!!
Didn't see the goals at all. I wasn't here yet or I was in the loo
Hi Bob
That was quick! No one picks up the runner Berezutsky and he heads it back across the goal and past VDS.
What - trying to flush the budgie down the toilet? That's dangerous!
Wouldn't stop struggling about!!
We just didn't like it
It wasn't dead then?
Rooney, the new dad of Kai Wayne Rooney, is about to come on
Boy, Nani got a roasting from the unwashed masses on 606 last weekend!
He's hopeless
"Kai?"
I really thought he'd be a good replacement for Ronaldo when he came in but he just hasn't raised his game yet.
Rooney off for Nani
Evra on for one of the twins
Next thing Roon will be doing a Beckham and tattooing his nipper's name in Sanskrit on his bum!
Which one?
Bruvver is a Stephen.
Marseille are 3-1 up now.
Free kick chance for United about 10 outside the D
Roon or Scholes... Scholes hammers it but saved United called for offside with the rebound
From 365: "Don't think Nani can have any complaints with being taken off again. He's delivery has been generally poor and he has not looked capable of taking players on."
I thought so.
Are you with a B or a ph
oooh, Rooney should have done better with the header
Silly bunt!
Past the hour mark
Bayern still losing
Lots of away wins on the cards.
CSKA don't look that hot at the back. I reckon that there are still some goals in this one.
Chelsea have fallen behind in Madrid
Athletico have taken the lead against the Blues with a goal on 66 minutes from Argie striker Aguero.
Twenty minutes left. And then another added ten minutes of OT time. Or however long it takes for United to equalize really. Could be a late night for the kiddies.
I hope you're right!
United really need to pick up the tempo
Useless cross by Valencia
Okay, I will take you time keeping
MT talking about the big European nights. I don't think it is like that anymore. I don't think it is like that at Anfield either
United can't seem to cross the ball any more!
Not in the group stage it isn't, although I have to say that OT always sells out these matches whereas Stamford Bridge is a ghost town during the group stage.
Macheda picks up a caution for a late challenge on Semberas.
Fifteen to salvage this one. You could use the point, right? How does a Wolfsburg win affect your standing in the group?
oooh,, United go close!!
Owen then Rooney go ever so close
I am not sure about how the results matter
They didn't if United get a point but who knows now!!
BLOODY HELL!!!
CLOSE TWICE AGAIN!!!
A clown in the goal again!
Off the post by Macheda and then Rooney saved by the Clown
Why is he taking off Macheda????
United passing it well now
Scholes takes a pile driver saved
Under 10 to go
Shot on the turn by Scholes. Well over.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
United get a goal back by Scholesy!!
GOAL! Scholesy comes good!
3-2!
COME ON UNITED!!!
Smallest bloke on the park knocks in a header from two yards out. Unbelievable!
23rd goal for Scholes in the CL
Chelski tie it up
Drogs with the goal
So five minutes plus OT time. I've seen it happen before. All the momentum going toward the Stretford End. "A point means qualification," MT reminds.
Come on ManU
Come on ManU
Come on ManU
2 v 2 break..
United survive
OT roar follows
COME ON
ATTACK ATTACK
What was that comment about Roon "wetting the baby's head?"
dunno
The CSKA Moscow coach rocking back and forth. He knows what this means.
Here comes the fourth official....
Patient build up here from United.
4 added minutes
Oh, I thought Roon was in there.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!
VALENCIA!!!!!!!
GOAL! There it is! Valencia!
Do you like him now?
Big deflection of that shot going WELL WIDE!!
Must be an OG
A bit jammy, but you don't care. The shot was going well wide but took a horrendous deflection past the keeper.
Going for the winner now!
Chelski take the lead late
Drogs
Why can't they play that way toward the other end?
Of course - it's always Drogs.
Under two to go
Big shout for handball. Nothing doing.
This ref doesn't want to give a United Pen
CSKA go down to ten men
Obertan's trying to walk away from the ref but he's booked nonetheless.
And one of the CSKA players is off!
Time's up and then some but still we play on.
time must be added on
one more attack... get it in the box
SHOOT!!!
Final whistle blows!!
United have qualified for the next round with two games to spare. We still need to win the group!
Full-time: Phew! That was the usual thrilling end. 3-3 at the death. Qualification for the knock-out rounds in the spring. Well done, United!
I'm off home. Chat with you tomorrow.
Chelski get pegged back
Bayern lose 2-0
Real and AC draw 1-1
Marseille win 6-1
Take care
I am off to college
I'm back on Wednesday afternoon to follow the rest of the CL fixtures from Gameday 4.
Arsenal have racked up a 4-0 lead against AZ at the Emirates with a brace from Fabregas and one each from Nasri and Diaby.
Liverpool are desperate for a win away to Lyon today but are still at 0-0 going into the final stages.
Fiorentina have posted the best score of the day, jumping out to a 5-2 lead.
In the Premiership, West Ham are drawing against Villa 1-1 in the second half. A win for the Hammers might lift them out of the drop zone.
Kiev are close to scoring a victory at home that would put Jose Mourinho's Inter under a whole lot of pressure.
AZ have scored a consolation goal in the 82nd minute. It's 4-1 now.
Into the last ten minutes at Lyon.
GOAL - BABEL. A wonderful strike from the Dutchman. He cuts inside Gossama and unleashes a tremendous right-foot shot from 25 yards which flies into the top corner. 1-0 Liverpool!
That's just the tonic they needed!
GOAL - LISANDRO. An equaliser after a mix up in the Liverpool defence is punished. Agger can onyl watch the ball drop over his head. Lisandro's outmuscles Krygiakos and then fires past Reina. 1-1 and Liverpool's hopes are hit late on.
Liverpool hearts are broken again.
Into stoppage time now....
Diego Milito and Wesley Sneijder have struck late for Inter to save Jose's blushes. 1-2 there.
That's the final whistle and it's finished 1-1. It's unlikely to be enough for Liverpool who will be sick at that late equalizer. Lyon qualify with the draw. With Fiorentina having won tonight, Liverpool must make up five points on the Italians over the remaining two games. Basically things are now well out of their hands.
I'm off home, lads. Catch up with you at the weekend. Cheers!
