Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

No early matches this morning. It all kicks off at 10 am.
I've got Soccer Saturday up and running through VSS and they're having a lovely long discussion about Leeds and the match tomorrow morning.
Very interesting. Paul Merson is tipping Jermaine Beckford to be heading to Arsenal this month. They certainly could use an out and out goalscorer while RVP is out but I don't think JB is Arsene's cuppa. I'd be surprised and of course I want him going nowhere.
Not surprisingly, the panel reckons that ManYoo will win easily tomorrow. Only Tony Cottee thinks it will be difficult at all. Merse thinks that Fergie will run out a full strength side - I can't see that happening merely because of an age-old rivalry. Fergie's too canny for that. He'll put out the kids but they'll still probably beat us handily as Liverpool's scrubs did earlier in the fall in the Carling.
The FSC coverage of the big Cup day has started. Not sure which match they'll feature at 10 am.
Here we go! FSC are setting up Middlesboro v. Citeh from an extremely snowy Riverside Stadium. 3pm kick-offs about to start. SS still going strong through VSS. Let the magic begin!
What a strange story. The York City coach has been delayed on the M62 and the kick-off is now scheduled for 3:30.
Yes - the big Battle of the Roses match tomorrow is going to be live on FSC. Magic!
Ipswich have taken an early lead at Blackpool. Good start for Roy Keane's side.
Northhants have taken the lead at Bournemouth. 0-1 there.
Good morning Bob and welcome back... sorry about this weekend. Kathy is still feeling rough.
The Tractor Roys have taken the lead in Blackpool
Good morning Bob and welcome back... sorry about this weekend. Kathy is still feeling rough.
The Tractor Roys have taken the lead in Blackpool
Got a good SS link going too
Roberto Mancini has rung the changes today leaving Bellamy and Tevez on the bench and giving Petrov a match up front on a day that I'm sure he'd rather be putting his feet up with a cuppa.
Why did that post twice???
Morning, lad. No worries about the weekend. You take care of the missus, eh? Cup of Lemsip straight away.
You've developed a stutter, innit.
Man Cini has a different thought of the Cup
Hughes put strong teams out for Cup games to win a trophy. I wonder what team Man Cini will put against United the League Cup Semi this week. Hughes had full strength teams
Just had the opportunity to put the TV on the game. No one is at the Riverside. Fans.... stop complaining about teams not caring about the Cup when you don't show up for the games!!!
Why is Le Tiss commentating on Bournemouth vs. Northhampton. What a rubbish match? What about Spurs? Or Wigan v. Hull?
Everton and Swansea take the lead in their games
Villa are up against Rovers
Hey - would you go along to that match in Boro today? No chance - it's absolutely chucking down!
Nice to see James Vaughn in good form after all those injury set-backs.
Bournemouth vs Northampton isn't even in the Cup!!!
It is a League 2 game!
PNE are up against Colchester. Goals starting to ping into nets.
Morning. I see Everton have jumped out to a 1-0 lead. Can't find a feed to the match anywhere.
Fulham have taken the lead
Really?! That's crazy. Why is no one commenting on the Spurs match? They've got the Jock commenting on a Scots Cup match too. Who cares?
Sunderland have taken the lead against Barrow
Carlos Tevez sporting the Islamic women's garb on the touchline and probably wondering why the hell he's in Middlesboro today.
Two games in your league
No goals
Hartlepool Oldhan
Wycombe Norwich
Morning, Someone. No, I haven't seen a link for the Toffees either. It's possible that it's not being broadcast today. There have been some strange decisions that way.
Uh oh. Carlisle have pegged Everton back. 1-1 there. Sorry, Someone.
I'll just have to live with that :)
Great to see Vaughan fit, they need a striker now with Yakubu at the African Cup, Saha hurt and Jo headed out the door.
Glad you're not watching
Carlisle have tied it up
Is Landy playing?
Citeh don't look like they fancy this match one bit.
No he isn't. Not on the bench either
Sheesh. Fellaini has a yellow already.
Palace have taken the lead through Neil Danns. 0-1 at Hillsboro.
That's just for the hair, though. It's a yellow card offense in my book.
hi bob its Thomas
Hi Thomas - how are you, lad?
Burnley have taken the lead through a Graham Alexander penalty against MK Dons.
Carlito already up and trotting about, maybe just to keep warm. Petrov and Benjani have been bad, but not that bad!
Coventry have taken the lead against penniless Pompey. Would you play well if you hadn't been paid? Don't think so.
Brilliant save from a penalty by America's own Brad Guzan in the Villa goal.
Jeff is feeling good because his beloved Hartlepool are 1-0 up over Oldham.
Spurs have taken the lead against Posh - great individual goal by Kranjcar by the sound of it.
I'm good... come on Man United!
Oh dear about Pompey
York's players have nipped quickly off their bus and onto the pitch at the Britannia and that game has started a half hour late.
Hull have taken the lead at Wigan in an all Prem fixture
Stand upppppppp if you hate ManYoooo!
Geovanni has scored a free kick to put Hull 0-1 up over Wigan.
Everyone is sitting here!!
Do you know what tomorrow ISN'T????
LEEDS TIME, THAT'S WHAT
Villa are now 2-0 up after escaping that penalty scare. Cuellar with their second.
The Villians are two up
Burnley are two up in Milton Keynes
Burnley 0-2 up over the Guvnor's Dons. Not quite the banana skin that had been predicted.
Sotton beating Luton
The Saints are 1-0 up over recently non-league Luton.
Jeff is really feeling good now. 2-0 Hartlepool.
Bob Monkhouse is still going?? I remember him on all those game shows and now he is playing for Hartlepool!!
boom boom
Leicester tie it up with the Swans
Leicester have leveled it against Swansea. Andy King with the goal.
Boom boom!
The Spit has been sent off
Spitty Diouf has been sent off for a professional foul. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke. Blackburn 2-0 down and now down to ten men.
Wednesday have leveled it against Palace with an og.
Wednesday has tie it up on Saturday.
Citeh take the lead... of course FSC is behind the time!
SS is ahead of FSC so we hear about the goal about a minute before Benjani nets it on the box. Bloody Norah!
Bugger, lost my link... just got it back
Yes, Pompey has tied it up
Did the Pompey squad get their pay packets while on the bench today?
What a sad situation.
Halftime at Goodison, and at most of the other matches this morning.
Hoping I can get up early enough for tomorrow's 7:30 Old Firm match.
I guess there was supposed to be an early game. Bristol City and Cardiff were scheduled for at 12:30 kick off but was postponed
I don't think the Pompey players have been paid yet.
How can Pompey find TWO Middle East buyers and BOTH of them have NO MONEY!!!
Birmingham's Lee Carsley was taken off on a stretcher hurting his knee. Hope it's not serious. Guy's a class act.
York take the lead at Stoke but get pegged back immediatley
Stoke's now up 2-1.
Good morning chaps! Good to have you back state-side Bob. Thanks for the card Davey, but did you realize that that some wolf jumped up and got caught in the picture? I know you've got the climate for those animals, but aren't you supposed to domesticate them and then hitch them up to a sled? Outside?
Seriously, I miss a round of the FA cup that doesn't get played at some shed of a ground. I'd love to see what Barrow's home ground looked like for instance.
Beckford for us, eh? Can't see it. Merse must have a tenner on it.
I'll be back... off to take Shadow for a walk
Carlos Tevez has replaced De Jong at the beginning of the second half, so clearly Mancini wants to kill off Boro straight away.
Morning, Gooner! Doesn't look like your match v. the Hammers is on the box tomorrow. Surely some mistake, eh?
Good point Davey. What is going on at Pompey? Does anyone really know what might get them wrapped up? Must be massive debt, or failure to pay massive taxes.
Either way, in my mind, it would have to follow that Peter Storrey has to be investigated for criminal negligence.
Bolton now home and hosed at 2-0 over Lincoln City.
Wigan have leveled it against Hull. N'Zogbia on the scoresheet there.
Our FA cup matches are exclusively Arsenal TV. Suits me, I'll watch it online.
Yeah - no worries on that. We'll follow it regardless.
Keano's Tractor Boys have been pegged back to 1-1 by Blackpool.
Excellent - Norwich are still drawing away to low-lying Wycombe in their L1 match.
The dream is over for Barrow as Sunderland go 2-0 up.
Perry Groves must be weeping as Colchester concede another. It's a rout.
I notice that Mancini has switched the posh wool overcoat for something a bit puffy and warmer out of the clubshop collection. It is parky!
Blackpool have been reduced to 10 men. Big chance for Ipswich.
Spurs 2-0 up over Posh now. A brace for Kranjcar.
Krancjar looks a bit good at the moment. C'mon Peterborough, knobble Robbie Keane at least.
Is Perry at Colchester? How the mighty have fallen.
Ten men Blackburn have got a goal back at Villa Park.
Preston up 5-0 on Colchester.
Tevez has a spiffy neck warmer on.
He was rocking the face-covering hijab look in the first half. A bit colder than Argentina in Boro today.
Nah, Perry started at Colchester and would pop up in the crowd for their games when he wasn't playing for Arsenal. Anytime that he's interviewed, he ups Colchester. He's a legend there too.
Have you read his book? It's one of my favorites.
Stoke and York City have finally reached half-time. 2-1 there.
AJ has had a penalty saved by the Windon keeper.
Haven't read it yet. I'll have to give it a go.
Oh, Carlito rounds the Boro keeper but hits it wide. Nearly 0-2 there.
If it was about fifteen degrees warmer, Tevez would have scored!
I'll bung it your way next time I see you.
Robbie Earnshaw has missed a pen for Notts Forest. A day of missed pens then.
I am back from my walk in the frozen tundra
What did I miss
I see Wigan are up
Preston have SIX
Ooof, Colchester concede another.
Yeah - and PNE now 6-0 up!
Ipswich have been pegged back
Not a lot of giantkilling activity yet today. I guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow morning for that, then.
Ten man Rovers have a goal back?
Wigan have number 3
What a comeback
Wigan now 3-1 up over Hull. A second for N'Zogbia.
Palace have taken a Saturday lead at Wednesday
Yeah - if they'd potted that pen in the first half, they'd be level.
Spurs are three up
Jermaine Defoe has added a third for Spurs against Posh.
Well in, N'Zogbia! Heap the ignominy on that t*t Brown.
Phil Brown is just about for the sack now.
As for your first comments of the day about JB
Arsenal?
I fear for your lot in the second half of the season
JB to Arsenal or the Toon.
Snoddy being looked at Boro!
I would go to Newcastle or Arse but not Boro
Leeds will be in the same league as Boro next year
Scunthorpe 1 Barnsley 0
Come on Barnsley... you won at Anfield!!!
Only four ties have no goals
Huddersfield WBA
Forest Brum
Torquay Brighton
Plymouth Newcaste
PRESTON SEVEN!!!
PNE now 7-0 up over Colchester! Wow - I hope that Colchester will take that form with them into L1 next weekend.
Yeah, Hull probably will sack him. It would be nice if they'd wait until March 14 so Cesc could hammer the final nail into his day-glo coffin though.
Do you have them next week?
Again Le Tis still at Dean Court!!!!
Blackpool are now down to nine men and 1-2 down to Ipswich.
I thought we were getting the Costa game at Reading later. Apparently not
Tomorrow we have the United's at 8
Tranmere Wolves at 1
Tractor Roys take the lead as Blackpool get a man sent off
Norwich score
I want Norwich to go up instead of Charlton anyway
Bugger - Norwich have pulled out the win at Wycombe. 0-1 there. They're into second now.
The Baggies score at Huddersfield
No matter - surely we can get a link up for the Pool match. I'm a bit knackered to be honest. I might take a wee nap in a bit.
Interesting fact about the Cup
In the last FIVE years, the team that knocks out Boro have been runners up in the Cup
Again, I can't see Wenger spending money on a goalscoring forward that's not been proven in a top division. If we had fit RVP, a fit Bendtner, an in-form Eddie, an in-form keeper, and cover for Song during his Egyptian holiday, then maybe.
But we have Watt, Vela, Simpson, Sunu, Thomas.
He'll bring in a striker, but it's got to be a un-CL-cup-tied, top man with a proven goal record in one of the top leagues. Balotelli would do for me if he's not played in the CL this season.
Isn't Simpson out on loan? You could use him right about now for sure.
Oooh, I hate that stat. I don't want Citeh to win anything, ever.
West Brom two up
Everton take the lead again
Bolton now 3-0 up over Lincoln City.
Time to start dancing, Someone. Cahill has surely won it for the Toffees now.
Thank you Tim Cahill. Everton up 2-1.
I think Simpson is playing somewhere, but you get my point. There are unproven Arsenal reserves that would be ahead of an unproven JB, no?
Boro really haven't had any clear chances in this half. Citeh look to be cruising to a win on the basis of that Benjani goal.
C'mon Boro! Get one back, please.
I hope so - my policy is hands off JB. He'll score 40+ goals for us this season if he stays for the duration.
And... he could get into the Premiership a year later
Torquay losing to Brighton
COME ON READING
1644: A year ago, Nottingham Forest stunned football by thrashing Manchester City 3-0 at Eastlands. Today, Forest 0-0 Birmingham and Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry are our only chances of a Cupset. Until Reading play Liverpool later, anyway...
Signing JB wouldn't silence the Wenger critics. I think you're safe from us. Watch out for Championship predators.
Leicester take a last minute lead against Swansea
Good Morning everyone . Sorry I'm late . Having a bit of trouble signing in . Forget about today .
WHO will win tomorrow ???
I get Reading - Costa on ITV at 5:00
Good stuff .
United will win tomorrow Bruv
Stoke 3 1 up
Stoke now home and dry at 3-1 over tardy York City.
Leicester have won it late against Swansea.
Wait a minute. Here's a stat. Stoke's top scorer this season. Allegedly Etherington with.... 4. That's ridiculous.
Villa extend their lead
Four minutes of added time and 'Borough can't finish.
A John Carew penalty settles it for Villa. 3-1 now.
Bolton 4 up
STRUTH!!
Tevez and Belamy each have two chances!!
Wigan get their fourth of the half
Spurs get their fourth
That and the MoTM for Stoke every weekend is Rory Delap's bloody towel!
Robbie Keane has added a fourth with a pen.
Spurs and Town are both through
Norwich go into second
Citeh win
Everton three one up
Mad scramble in the box but Boro can't convert and that's it. Mancini has his third win on the trot. Sparky Who?
Have a long, lonely, cold, and dark coach ride back to Mordor, Piltdown.
Paul Merson is driving poor old Jeff nuts in the studio .
Right, that's me done. I hear stirring upstairs so I'll say cheerio for now.
See you here tomorrow, you rabble.
I am going to be in and out too
Have a nice nap Bob
Cheerio, Gooner! I'm going to start searching for a link for the Pool match to listen to while I'm napping.
When I clicked on a link for Pool it went straight through to SS, so maybe the match will come on when the boys wrap it up in a moment or two.
an atdhe link is working
"Damp squib day in the FA Cup. Now down to Reading (v Liverpool) and Leeds (v Man United) for some fireworks. Don't hold your breath..."
Well... maybe at Reading!
Cheers, mate! Got it going now.
I'll ignore that, Dave. Reading have certainly done it before.
Reading get the ball in the net but called off for a foul on Pepe
I'm surprised to see Torres and Gerrard playing today, but then again what else do they have to play for at this stage?
This or the Europa League for Costa this year
Pool get a free kick after the keeper handles outside the box.
I thought the Keeper did keep his hands off the ball as he slipped out the box
Free kick chance for Stevie... hopeless... good
1732: The plot thickens. Burnley boss Owen Coyle - heavily linked with the vacant Bolton job - did not appear for their post-match news conference after the 2-1 win at MK Dons. Burnley officials insisted that Coyle had to leave to catch a scheduled flight at Luton airport to see his family in Scotland. Hmm.
Very, very sleepy now....
I heard that Sparky was in for that job as well.
Nighty night sweet prince
Yellow for Insue - he's useless!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
READING TAKE THE LEAD!!!
YESSSSS!!! Reading take the lead through Simon Church. Brill - more pressure on Rafa.
Is Rafa in trouble?
Reading are continuing to press for a second. Good on 'em.
You don't think he is?
I think he has some inside power. He has gotten rid of all of his enemies
Reading goal: The day isn't dead quite yet. The Madejski erupts as Ryan Bertrand swings over a free-kick from the Reading right, Grzegorz Rasiak does brilliantly to keep it in at the far post and it hits Simon Church two yards out and flies into the Liverpool net.
"flies in the net"... it rolled in off his shin
I am pleased with this performance so far by Costa
I was scared that the last minute win at Villa Park was going to kickstart their season
Bugger... Costa score... Stevie G with the goal... Reading want it called off for offside. Never was
