Greetings from London!
The Eagle Has Landed! I'm now set up in my parents' den with a cuppa waiting for the Premiership goodness to begin. It all starts in about an hour and half with Sunderland v. Bolton. That's followed by the usual 3pm matches, highlighted by Arsenal v. Stoke and a titanic top of the table scrap between my beloved Leeds and the evil Warnock minions at QPR. Join me for the usual LOB blather. Cheers!

Sunderland and Bolton are about to kick off from The Stadium of Light on a chilly afternoon. This a match between two teams capable of playing great football as Sunderland proved with a 0-3 win at Stamford Bridge and Bolton are challenging for a Europa League place.
The match is underway. How is everything in London . I hear it is quite chilly.
Morning, MUR! I'm feeling really lucky to have got into Heathrow this morning ahead of the snow. Four matches including the Arsenal v. Stoke are already off. Brrrr!
Owen Coyle has completed changed Bolton's tactics as they are now a decent side to watch. He has made U.S. international Stuart Holden the play maker in midfield .
Good afternoon BD. I hope you had a safe flight. I understood This is the type of cold we did not experience while living in England. So much for global warming. How is the family?
Both teams are attempting to establish a feel for the match as a clear cut opportunity has yet to be created.
Martin Petrov shoots straight at Craig Gordon from long range. Then Muamba fouls Wellbeck to concede a free kick.
The free kick is shot into the wall, then Bolton attack and Sunderland scramble to clear.
Gyan shoots wide, but is flagged offside. He took the poor free kick a minute earlier.
Darren Bent is down injured holding his ankle , but is being helped up.
He is down off the field receiving treatment.
A promising run by Kieran Richardson leads to the first corner of the match as he sped through the Bolton defense. The corner is cleared.
Bent shot over as he is back on the pitch.
Now Mensah is down injured after being tackled by Kevin Davies.
It looks like Mensah may need to be replaced as he struggles to walk off the pitch.
Mensah hobbles back on to the pitch.
Mensah now comes off as he is fouled and is replace by El Mohammedi. The free kick is wasted as Sunderland will need to reshuffle their defense.
Morning Fellas
Welcome to England!
What is with the weather!!
All these matches off
Just saw that the BIG ONE tomorrow is a gonner!!!
Elmander heads over after a great move from the Trotters. Finally , some real quality.
Good morning UWS. Bob said that there is a lot of snow and that it is really chilly in England. Four EPL matches have been postponed today. I did not know about the one tomorrow.
Craig Gordon easily catches the corner from Stuart Holden.
Wonder if there is snow in our neck of the woods.
My sister keeps complaining that every other part of the country except East Anglia is getting snow!
Why are so many games in the Prem off but only 3 in the Championship?
Games at Cardiff, Portsmouth and Watford are off
I think Blackburn vs West Ham is the only other EPL match taking place today as the begin life without Fat Sam. Gyan forced a good save from Jussi.
Sunderland take the lead
United man Welbeck with the header.
They have been getting close!
GOAL!!! Wellbeck scrambles home a goal with a header after Jussi blocked a shot. 1-0 Black Cats.
Bob was lucky... Heathrow is closed!
Four EPL games have been cancelled today.
Gary Cahill is booked for a nasty foul on Darren Bent as Stevie Bruce wanted a red card.
GOAL! Danny Welbeck dives in with a flying header to put Sunderland 1-0 up.
I'm feeling very fortunate to have got in here before the snow came down. We're just taking it easy and putting our feet up.
Bob's plane must have landed just before they closed Heathrow.
Glad to hear you are all safe and warm!
Keep warm BD. Other than the winter of 78-79, I don't remember this type of weather in England.
Only one other EPL match today while Fat Sam gets to stay warm.
Cattermole is booked for a foul on a Holden and will be suspended for the match on Boxing Day.
Match between Luton and York has been abandoned after 55 minutes because of snow
Wonder if the Mildenhall area got snow?
The match between Luton and York has been abandoned midway through the second half due to the weather.
Brucie is furious with some of the robust challenges by Bolton in the first half.
I think East Anglia gets less snow than anywhere else in England except for the Scilly Isles!
WHAT A SAVE BY GORDON!!
Bolton nearly scored off the corner as Gordon saved from Knight from close range. How did he keep that out?
With all these games called off... the biggest match of the weekend must be the top four clash in the Championship at Elland Road
Halftime and Sunderland deservedly lead 1-0 despite some really physical play by Bolton.
Man City vs Everton is the Monday match
Man City vs Everton is the Monday match
uh oh... my double posting is starting again!
Lucky for you, I am going to be leaving soon to do a bit of Christmas shopping
uh oh... my double posting is starting again!
Lucky for you, I am going to be leaving soon to do a bit of Christmas shopping
I am back from a warm refreshing shower. Our morning low off 44 degrees must seem quite balmy. I can't believe Owen Coyle is wearing shorts in this weather.
Elmander shot straight at Craig Gordon.
Holden is booked for two consecutive fouls.
Gyan shoots at Jussi as the free kick makes it unexpectedly to him.
Say hello to your mum and dad from me Bob
I wonder if West Brom vs Wolves and Blackpool vs Spurs will be played tomorrow.
Yes. I agree with UWS. How have they been?
Paul Robinson is called for a foul.
Richardson shoots the free kick up to row Z.
Ivan Klasnic is on for Martin Petrov. Muamba is booked for a foul.
Sunderland will be in fifth place with a victory over Bolton.
OOH!!! Nearly 2-0 as Well beck shoots and hits the outside of the post.
Sunderland almost double their lead. Welbeck hits the outside of the post
Sunderland have been good value for their lead as Bolton have resorted to cynical play which is not typical of an Owen Coyle side.
Wellbeck was looking for a penalty. Looking at the replay, I think he was fouled outside the penalty area.
Of course, United are Sunderland's next opponent on Boxing Day
Zenden is on for Gyan.
Welbeck will be ineligible , so we should win that match. It should be entertaining.
I don't know if this postponement tomorrow is good or bad for United. Chelsea may be turning the corner and could have got a lot of confidence in beating United. Now, maybe their slide continues against the other teams.
It would be great for Arsenal to beat Chelsea at the Em
I would like to see the match be made up while all the Chelsea players are off at the ACN
Welbeck is now injured. These Bolton challenges are getting out of hand.
Bolton are really thugging it up. I don't know how Robinson is still on the pitch. Good to see them losing. I wish they'd go down already.
I agree UWS. I would have preferred to have played Chelsea tomorrow while they are in a poor run of form, but the ANC would be a great time.
Are any EPL matches being played tomorrow?
I first thought that about Chelsea on a bad run but it looks like their coming out of it. I think an away game at Arsenal could knock them down a bit
Now Davies pushes Richardson down and checks to see if Chris Foy saw him. The answer is YES!!!
I am off to the shops
Take care fellas
Best of luck of Bob in the BIG MATCH of the day
TTFN
Elmander was nearly put through as Bolton finally played some decent football.
Take care UWS.
Tamir Cohen is on for Muamba and Moreno is on for Matt Taylor.
Cahill sees his shot deflected for a corner after a scramble in the penalty area. The corner is cleared.
Klasnic sees his shot deflected straight to Gordon.
Anton Ferdinand is down injured after another clash with Kevin Davies.
That was nearly 2-0 as Zenden headed wide from a fantastic Sunderland move.
There was a morbidly obese fan without a short on in these conditions!!!
Four minutes of stoppage time as Sunderland clear a Bolton corner.
Kalsnic shoots just wide after a scramble in the penalty area. Was that Bolton's last chance.
That's it . Sunderland move to fifth with a deserved 1-0 win over Bolton as they keep their sixth clean sheet of the season. It was a poor Bolton performance today.
TTFN everyone.
Cheers, fellas. I was really glad to see Sunderland win today. They were good value for it.
Now the big one for me - there has been a war of words between QPR and Leeds all week in preparation for this one. No love lost between Warnock and Grayson and of course QPR have a certain Rob Hulse leading their line. Should be rather tasty. Come on, you Whites!
It is still 0-0 between Leeds and QPR. The late match is between the Tractor Roys and Sven's lot.
Hull City Lead Bristol City 1-0 . There are no other goals in the Championship.
Hey Bob and Dad,
Bleedin' Arsenal match is off I see. I've already done the complete match-day ritual so I'm sending surplus MoJo over to Elland Road.
YES !!! Leeds take the lead against QPR through Gradel.
COME ON YOU WHITES!!!
Cheers, mate. It's working as Max Gradel has popped up with a 26th minute goal - his fifth of the season.
YESSSS!
Does that put Leeds in SECOND?
Forest take the lead against Palace.
Exeter City lead Sheffield Wednesday 1-0.
Fleetwood Town lead Newport County 1-0.
Reading have taken the lead at Derby County. Sheffield United have taken the lead against Swansea.
Hearts and Callie are tied at 1-1. Killie lead Hibs 2-0.
Blackburn and the Hammers are tied at 0-0 at halftime. It is Exeter 1 Wednesday 1 at halftime.
The Whites are 1-0 ahead at halftime.
Warnock will not be happy.
Blackpool vs Spurs has been postponed tomorrow due to the weather, so the only match tomorrow is Wolves vs West Brom. Man Citeh vs Everton is the Monday match on ESPN 2.
Forest now lead Palace 2-0. 100 comments.
Blackburn have taken the lead against the Hammers through Ryan Nelsen. Who needs Fat Sam?
Hibs have pulled a goal back as they now trail Killie 2-1.
We've got about half an hour to gut out what would be an extraordinary win against the league leaders at Elland Road. It does bring us level second with Cardiff on points but with inferior goal difference.
Hello Bob. Exeter City now lead Sheffield Wednesday 2-1.
Why are there more games being played in the Championship then the Premiership today?
Derby County have tied it up against Reading as it is 1-1.
Hull City now lead Bristol City 2-0 and Exeter now lead Wednesday 3-1 in what would be an extraordinary result.
The Canaries have taken the lead at Coventry. The Whites still lead the evil team 1-0.
YESSSSS! Now it's 2-0. We've been absorbing QPR pressure most of the match and finally sprung Max Gradel who finished for his brace.
Way hay!
It must just be a fluke of the parts of the country that are involved. I notice that the north got snow earlier in the week and the capital got it today so it's mostly the matches in London that have been called off. Most of the Championship clubs have Premiership quality stadia since many have been up in the top league recently.
YES!!!! Gradel gets a second as your lot is giving Warnock a lump of coal. Well done!!!
I am not sure if I will get up early to watch Wolves vs the Baggies, but I will watch Citeh vs Everton on Monday. If you are blogging tomorrow I will get up to chat with you.
Exeter is now thrashing Wednesday 4-1. Coventry have tied it up against the Canaries, and Newport County have tied it up at Fleetwood.
It is ironic that little Fleetwood can host a match, but neighboring Blackpool cannot.
The Hammers have tied it up at Ewood Park as Junior Stanislas scored for the Hammers.
There is a tea time kick off at Portman Road. Will you be watching that match Bob?
Based on what you told me , it may not be televised, but do you have a link for that match? How has your visit been and how was the flight?
Reading now lead 1-2 at Derby County and Exeter are now thrashing Wednesday 5-1.
Forest now lead hapless Palace 3-0.
The Canaries have taken the lead again at Coventry as they now lead 1-2.
It has finished 1-1 at Ewood Park between Blackburn Rovers and the Hammers.
Leeds win 2-0 against evil Warnock. I think Leeds is in third behind Cardiff on goal difference. If Norwich win at Coventry they will be in fourth. The Tractor Roys kick off in about 25 minutes.
Bob, I think Leeds is one point ahead of the Welsh clubs, so they would be in second place. The Canaries move up to fifth ahead of Coventry due to that crucial win.
WOW... TWO NIL and in SECOND PLACE!!!
CONGRATS MATE!
No need to get up tomorrow
All three prem matches are off
Thank you UWS. I will get a much needed rest. How about Monday?
The Tractor Roys lead 1-0 through a goal by David Norris.
The Tractor Roys lead 3-0 at halftime as they extended their lead through two goals by Jason Scotland.
The match at Portman Road has been suspended. In other words, the 3-0 lead means absolutely nothing as the match will need to be replayed.
From the Beeb
Ipswich ended a run of six straight defeats with victory over Leicester but only after a scare that the game would be abandoned because of heavy show.
Rory Fallon's lay-off set up David Norris to open the scoring, before Jason Scotland's low shot made it 2-0.
Shane O'Connor teed up Scotland to poke home a third goal but shortly after the break play was stopped for 17 minutes.
After the restart Leicester's Curtis Davies had a goal ruled out for off-side but a comeback was never likely.
I did not realize that the match resumed. I am pleased that it did so that the Tractor Roys could get a much needed win in blizzard conditions.
