Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

2011/2012 Premiership Fixtures!

Never fear, footie junkies - the 2011/2012 Premiership fixtures list was announced today. Hurrah! Champions Man Utd begin their defense of their title with a nice easy run out at the Hawthorns against WBA on Saturday, August 13th. Arsenal also have an away fixture at St. James's Park against Newcastle on the same day. In the weekend's most intriguing fixture, Citeh start at home to promoted Swansea City.

Dropping down to the Championship, my beloved LUFC gets started on August 6th at St. Mary's against Southhampton while WHR's Hammers start their last season at Upton Park with a tricky home match against evil Cardiff City.

You can check the full fixtures list for all of the leagues at this excellent Guardian site: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/football-fixtures-2011-12

Can't wait! Roll on the new season!

The Saturday we're in Glasgow (9/3) is one of the off weeks. Figures :)

I'm not keen on our opening 4, the ones in November when we tend to struggle, and away to Stoke again in our run in to the end of the season is taking the piss in my Gooner-centric opinion. Bag of flaming poo on the fixture-writer's doorstep!

WBA away is okay but we have Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea all really early

Quit your bellyaching, you lot. I'm ready for the new season already, despite losing Bradley Johnson to Norwich. Roll on!

OK, shut it or I'll let put the Leeds scouts onto Clarence Goodson and Tim Ream. I mean it, mate.
