Does Andy Murray Have a Hope?
I enjoyed a bit of early morning first day Wimbledon action today before work. You know the narrative by now - "Britain Has Its Best Hope of Winning Since...." Yes - all of Britain's hopes rest on the narrow shoulder's of Andy Murray this fortnight. But does he really have any hope of beating Nadal and Federer? I don't rate him - how about you lot?

He'd have a shot if there weren't the other top three playing!
He doesn't have a chance. It reminds of a Monte Python skit when the only ever Scotsman won Wimbledon. I think his name was Angus Mc Something or other . He wore a long plaid kilt and celebrated in bizarre fashion. This post reminds me of that skit.
Good shout, mate. That would be kilt-maker Angus Podgorney who beat the Blancmange in straight sets, defying the Blancmange's conspiracy to win Wimbledon.

By the way, to be fair to Murray, he defeated Daniel Gimeno-Traver in four sets in today's opener.
It was squeaky bum time, though, after Gimeno-Traver took the first set 6-4.
Of course, he did win the last FIFTEEN GAMES of the match!!!
Not a chance. He'll always be the failed hope just because he plays in the same era as Nadal and Federer.
Angus Podgorney (aka Andy Murray) marches on through Wimbledon, having defeated German tennis ace Tobias Kamke in straight sets in the second round today.
Murray is through to the second week of Wimbledon now with the good news that several other top seeds including Andy Roddick and Rob Soderling have been knocked out. He'll be in the quarters on Monday - the best day in tennis.
Andy Murray's quixotic Wimbledon quest ended today. Unfortunately, unlike Angus Podgorney, Andy wasn't facing a blancmange but Rafael Nadal. After the plucky Murray took the first set, the relentless Spaniard took three sets on the trot demolishing the poor Scot.
