A vital Monday Night CL Qualifier
I am on vacation and am lazy, so I cut and paste an article that was better stated than yours truly could have.
Riding a wave of momentum after three consecutive victories, Arsenal will host Newcastle on Monday night in a clash of Champions League hopefuls.
The first meeting between the two sides this season was actually the Premier League opener at St. James' Park (back when the stadium still had its historic name). Controversy ensued, as Joey Barton performed his usual thuggery and Gervinho got sent off in a 0-0 draw.
Both teams are strikingly different from the ones that squared off on Tyneside way back in August, but both are improbably fighting for Champions League spots.
An Arsenal win will incredibly bring them just one single point behind Tottenham's best team in memory. And if the Magpies emerge victorious, they will be only two points behind the Gunners and Chelsea in fourth place—in other words, Champions League dreamland.

I just arrived back from running an errand and am here with Ian Darke and Macca.
Newcastle won an early corner as Vermaelen made a last ditch tackle on Ba.The corner was taken short and humorously, Tiote crossed to Collicini. A recipe for disaster.
RVP was nearly in as Theo put in a tasty cross, but the Flying Dutchman just failed to connect.
Hard to believe Newcastle won 0-1 at the EM last season thanks to a goal by Andy Carroll. Seems like ancient history.
Alex Song is down injured , holding his hammy thanks to a stamp by the vile Tiote. Thankfully he's okay.
Tiote is fouled in midfeld by Rosicky.
A solo run by Ben Arfa is halted by three Arsenal defenders in the box.
The speedy Theo is not as speedy as David Santon ,who beat him for pace.
Theo wins a corner off of Collocini after a great ball from Sagna.
A short corner to RVP is crossed to Theo , but his volley is easily caught by Krul.

There was exactly 56 seconds between the goals as RVP easily turned Williamson.

Rvvp curled the free kick straight to Krul . It had plenty of pace.
Useless cross by Sagna after the fans oohed and awed as Theo dummied two Newcastle defenders.

Useless by Ober as he went on a long solo run, but his pass was way behind the disgusted Ba and he was forced to lay off to Ben Arfa whose long range effort was easily saved by Krul.
Now Kos and Ba are down, but both seem to be okay.It was a nasty clash of heads and Webbie was correct to stop play.
Krul is surprised by a Deflected effort by Rosicky that is straight to him. He punched it up in the air then caught it.

HOW DID ROSCIKY MISS THAT? Theo with superb skill turned Collocini and laid it on a plate for Rosicky who not only missed an open goal, but sliced a shot out for a throw.

Now Ba is being restrained. RVP is being booked for his part in the fracar.
Krul is booked too.It looked like Krul started it as he raced down to midfield to confront RVP.
GOONER MUST BE ECSTATIC!
Webbie blows the final whistle and the Gunners win 2-1 thanks to a last gasp goal by Vermalen. That ruins Newcastle's chances of qualifying for Europe and puts Arsenal one point behind third placed Spurs.
Tomorrow is the Merseyside Derby on ESPN2 and I hope to enjoy the pleasure of the company of other LOBERS!
Newcastle only have themselves to blame!
They could have gone for the winner and tried to go to the corner. The Arse go straight down the other end and score the winner!
The Dutchmen aren't liking each other. I am thinking that RVP was giving it to Krul about all the time wasting and it coming to nowt!
