Canada hosts the U.S. from Toronto as the Canadians celebrate the centenary of their soccer association. This match is also a warm up for both teams as they start the final stage of World Cup qualifying next Friday. When these teams meet it's never a friendly.

They're off from Toronto and it's early U.S. pressure as Jermaine Jones had a shot deflected for a corner and Goodson hooked a shot over from the resulting corner.
The U.S. have had nearly 100% of the possession.
Useless cross from Torres after a great passing move that started with Jones.
Dwaye D shoots just wide on Canada's first attack and it's actually a corner. Timmy is not pleased.
Julian De Guzman receives the first booking of the match as he is booked for a foul on Edgar Castillo
The free kick from Torres fails to beat the first man , but Castillo volleys from 40 yards out and Hirschfeld does well to tip over.The resulting corner was cleared.
Timmy does well to save from Ricketts after the U.S. failed to deal with a long throw from David Edgar.
Hercules Gomez has a poor cross deflected for a corner.
Carlos Bocanegra is down after falling into the advertising boarding from a battle with Olivier Ocean.

The Canadians have a goal disallowed after Dwayne D was called for a foul. Legertwood was extremely unlucky as there was minimal contact by Dwayne D.
It never seemed like Dwayne fouled Castillo. Canada should have been a goal up.
Landy and Clint combine and Hirschfelld does well to come out and block from Clint.The corner is cleared.

Into stoppage time and that's it as it's 0-0 at the half. The Canadians can consider themselves a tad unfortunate not to be 1-0 up as Legertwood had what seemed a perfectly legitimate goal disallowed.
Thanks for keeping this going MUR. I can only imagine that the linesman was late with his flag because his flag when it came didn't seem like it was for any great contact. I think he didn't like DeRo's contact and pushing that went on before.
This ref hasn't impressed me. He's been very fussy, even stopping the game to inspect some poor Canuck's clashing underpants. What barrel does CONCACAF scrape to find these clowns, and under what assumed name does he live in Mexico if this is his usual performance?
Not happy with the link up play for the USA. The transitions are breaking down time and again because the final pass is awful. Donovan's either lurking anywhere but where he can be useful or spraying a low kneecapper that the first defender's thankful for. Torres is cutting inside everytime and we're awfully narrow on the left.
In the second half, I'd like to see Dempsey occupying a much higher position. This is Canada, so the defensive midfielders should be able to contain anything they throw at us. There's little need for him to drop back so deep and isolate Gomez. Gomez is pretty active but maybe he'd benefit from having someone hold up the ball for him to run on to instead of having to run with it so much.
I still think we've got this because I just don't think much of the Canucks. Legerwood's very cool finish notwithstanding.

Canada should have scored a late winner as Dwayne D easily skipped passed Parkhurst as he laid it on a plate for Simeon Jackson who shot wide from two yards out.
The U.S. win a late free kick as Ian Hume clipped Goodson.
Hirschfeld makes a superb save to tip over a header from Clint off a free kick from Michael Bradley. The corner is cleared and it finishes 0-0 in Toronto.

Thanks for the report, MUR - I enjoyed reading your comments on what sounded like a less than enthralling match in Toronto. I was up in Buffalo (not too far away from the action) with the University of Plymouth kids at the mall today.
