Another Saturday of Football
A little of slow start this weekend as the early match is from Carrow Road with too teams with only two wins between them.
NBC show Liverpool's match against Southampton followed by Chelsea Fulham
Of course, the big derby is tomorrow
I will be around for the early match and almost all of the 10 o'clockers. I have leave for Matt's before the end

Morning, UWS - thanks for the post. Great graphic!
I'm looking forward to another absorbing Saturday morning of Premiership action, despite the slow start.
Good morning BD and UWS. I second that. Great post.
The team news is in from Carrow Road as they make their way out of the tunnel:
Canaries - Ruddy, Martin, Bassong, Turner, Garrido, Snodddy, Howson, Fer, Redmond, Elmander, van Wolfswinkel. Subs: Whittaker, Hooper, Pilkington, Bunn, Hoolahan, Bannett, Tettey.
Villans - Guzan, Bacuna, Clark, Vlaar, Luna, El Ahmadi, Delph, Tonev, Agbon, Benteke, Weimann. Subs: Baker, Bennett, Helenius, Albrighton, Steer, Sylla, Kozak.
They're off from Carrow Road.
It's 14th v. 17th here at Carrow Road - an early relegation dogfight?
A battle of two mid table teams.
Peter Drury and Efan Ekoku on the microphones this morning.
Early effort from Weimann - straight down Ruddy's neck though.
Rebecca Lowe stated that Paul Lambert would not shake hands with the Norwich board members after the match, but a friendly handshake with Chris Hughton.
Oh - Weimann's hit the post now! And Benteke can't find the net, albeit from an offside position.
Great run down the left by Agbon and weimann has a shot come off the post as Beneteke was flagged offside.
I suppose Lambert isn't on Delia's Christmas Pud List, eh?
Penalty to Norwich - handball on Clark! Not sure how intentional that was, though.
Penalty Norwich as Ron Vlaaar was guilty of handball and Brad Guzan has saved a pen from Snoddy!
Efan is a numpty - he says in one breath that Clark "doesn't know much about it" and then that "Chris Foy got it right." Does he know the rules of the game?
Oh - great save from Big Brad from Snoddy!
Terrible penalty there from a Snoddy who now has a shocking diva haircut. That wouldn't go over well at Elland Road.
So - a really fast start to this match but still 0-0.
He didn't practice penalties at ER? Well he sure paid the penalty!
Agreed, Bob. Agbon has a goal flagged off for offside.
I don't remember him taking pens at Elland Road - it was either JB or Becchio when he was around. He did take a cracking free kick though.
I am here
Had a phone call and kick off and the loo started calling as well!!
Millwall just took the lead at the Valley
Great work, Bob. You can be my barrister any day.
Good morning UWS.
Some comical football from both sides there for a moment - almost as if they were playing with a big Superball. Van Wolfswinkel finally puts it over with his chest.
A cross from young Redmond was chested over by the aptly named Van Wolfswinkel.
During the summer, I went to a camp locally coached by youth coach at Norwich. They beat Chelsea in the Youth Cup Final home and away
He said that Paul Lambert was an Asshole!
Houghton is a nice guy
Welcome back, UWS - what did the Loo have to say for itself?
Nice move by the Canaries and A cross from Chris Martin was cut out for a corner that was taken by Snoddy and cleared away by Kieran Clark.
Chris Hughton does seem a nice guy - but a rubbish manager. I reckon that either of these two could win the sack race.
I am interested in both the loo story and the summer camp story.
The Canaries fans are a lot more polite than I remember - they're applauding even the most ordinary play from their side.
I think PDC is currently in the lead in the sack race. How long is his touchline ban for being sent off last week and refusing to leave the pitch?
Poor give away by Bassong , but equally poor cross from Beneteke.
Evil Millwall are 0-1 up in the all-London early police kick-off against Charlton in the Championship.
I agree with you about the Norwich fans. However, after some really lean years they are greatful to be in the Pem.
The Norwich fans would always have a polite chat with me despite the way they acted.
My new set up at the house is better than the old house
Sitting on my couch and able to see the TV and computer
Nice run by Beneteke as his shot was deflected wide.
The corner was headed down by Beneteke and shot wide by Vlaaar, who looks a lot like a lurch.
Extraordinary behavior from UWS - he posts a cracking thread, then buggers off for half an hour, only to come back and tell us he's just a big crap. Now he's off again without so much as a bye or leave. Will he drop in again in twenty minutes to tell us that he's just had a sandwich?
Interesting comment About Lambert being an asshole. I'm sure Delia Smith would have plenty of interesting stories to tell Davie Boy over cookies and Crème de Menthe.
Arsenal talk on SS right now
Everyone is saying Arsenal can win the league now.... this coming after losing to Villa and everyone thought they may lose in the CL Qualifier and not make the top four.... now they are Champions Elect
LOL BOB! I save those stories for the missus. He deserves cold porridge for that awful conduct!
Kiss of Death
commentator just said thee is now way there will be a clean sheet today
NIL NIL
Interesting how there is lots of speculation after four matches. I think it will still be the usual suspects.
Free kick from Snoddy headed straight to Guzan by Van Wolfswinkel
I am guilty for the phone call and loo break... but I'm still here!!!
I reckon this is odds-on for a goalless draw, despite the quick start.
Benteke is hurt... he better be ok for Villa and Matt's sake
Good to have you on board, mate. :-)
Benteke is down getting treatment.
Limping badly but not on a stretcher
Looks lie a groin injury
It looks like Benteke won't be able to continue. He's back down on the ground.
Yes . We enjoy having you on board, UWS.
Beneke goes to the floor again
Oh - Van Wolf has missed another chance, wide right of the mark.
Just wide by Van wolfswinkel off a cross by Chris Martin.
He looks really hurt!
Norwich go really close
I think Ricky will score today. Don't see it finishing 0-0.
He is being replaced by their new signing
Kozak, the new signing from Lazio, on for the injured Beneteke.
Libor Kozak, a young Czech striker, is coming on to replace Benteke. A big blow for Villa...and Matt.
Cross from Agbon gathered by Ruddy before Kozak could connect.
GOAL! Supersub Kozak scores!
Kosak.....however you spell.... scores!!!
Poor cross from Howson easily caught by Gizan.
GOAL !!!!
KOZAK GIVES VILLA THE LEAD MINUTES AFTER REPLACING BENETEKE.
That goal could make his Villa career... he missed that first chance and it could be Gary Birtles all over again.. but nets his second chance
Kozak had two bites of the cherry set up first one-on-one with Ruddy by Weimann and then finally stabbing home Agbon's cross for a Villa lead.
Kozak should have scored at the first attempt when his shot was saved by Ruddy, but the alert Agbon squared it back for the Czech to score on his debut.
Kozak is saying to the Villa away support - "Who loves you, baby!?" He should celebrate with a Tootsie Pop, don't you think?
So what was this about the match finishing 0-0? what did Yours Truly say at 8:12? HUH? HUH?
I like that idea.
Norwich attacking their core fans first half...interesting
I tell everyone when watching Norwich about when we were trapped in aggro
Justin Fash gets a red.... Kevin Bond saves the day with a last minute penalty
It was these two teams playing that day
Was that the day you lads went Christmas shopping? Fash was the bash at that time.
Sorry Bob about you're midweek result... that hurt!
The goal actually started with a poor cross from Howson to Guzan that lead to a Villa goal seconds later. If Howson had learned how to cross during his academy days then ....
Great save by Ruddy off a miss hit cross from Weimann.
yup... first Saturday in December
A year or so before, I had to go to my cousin's wedding on that Saturday... UNITED WERE THE VISITORS!!!
Ouch - I'm still smarting from that loss. 96th bloody minute! I could see it coming, too. One of our lot got red-carded for a foul in the 95th minute - and I said, "they'll score from this." Sure enough...
Hoping for better from today's match with Burnley.
Me too, Bob. I read your comments and sorry that it was in the seventh minute of stoppage time. You said it was old boy, Chris Morrison, but it was actually super sub, Adam Le Fondre.
Weimann's been Villa's best player today.
I think Stephen Warnock was sent off for a second yellow and LeFondre scored off the resulting free kick. I wish you best in the Pennines Derby. MOT!
Now it's a Norwich change - Bassong off for Bennett.
Cheers, mate!
I agree Bob. A loss for the Canaries as Bassong, who was marking Beneteke, is off injured and replaced by Ryan Bennett.
Odd corner taken to Kozak in the D and his header was too far out to cause any damage.
I will be looking forward to halftime so I can make my own trip to the loo.
Well wide by Tonev off a pass from Delph.
Was anyone surprised that Swansea won by three in Valencia?
Into stoppage time.
There will be two minutes as Nathan Redmond blasts well over in to the Fens.
Villa have a late corner as Kozak is down injured Villa running out of strikers.
The corner from Snoddy was headed away.
Halftime and Villa lead by a goal from debut boy and Czech international, Kozak. The Canaries will be regretting that missed penalty by Snoddy. Time for a loo break.
Halftime and Villa lead by a goal from debut boy and Czech international, Kozak. The Canaries will be regretting that missed penalty by Snoddy. Time for a loo break.
Very surprised about Swansea's win
HT
One Nil the Villans
Villa go in 0-1 up but have another injury worry with Benteke's replacement Kozak. Will we finish at 11 v. 11?
The second half is underway from ER South!
SNoddy immediately wins a free kick between the box and the corner flag.
Bennett heads the free kick from Snoddy wide.
Into the second half - Villa are currently in the top half. But they'll worry about Benteke's injury.
Fifteen minutes left in the all-London Championship clash. Evil Millwall are still 0-1 up.
A perfect day for footie in England. Sunny and in the 60s.Seond some of that to South Texas por favor!
That's a SE London Derby. No wonder why it's an early kickoff. Millwall fifteen minutes away from their second win of the season after a poor start to the season.
Wolves being held 0-0 at Shrewsbury at the half.
It seems likely that Wolves will make a quick return to the Championship.
I'm not yet convinced by Van Wolf.
Lots of Norwich pressure , but every cross is easily headed away.
Could be. Wolves are in third behind fellow relegated, Young Fergie, and surprise leaders, Leyton Orient.
The Wolf is not getting the best service, but I think he has already chipped in with a couple of goals for a very average side.
ice Norwich move as Russell Martin has a cross blocked for a corner taken by Snoddy and headed away. Guzan did well to claw out a nice cross from Snoddy.
I agree - Norwich are giving it a right go now but it doesn't look as if they have the guile to break down a resolute Villa defense. But perhaps Gary Hooper will make the difference?
Gary Hooper, who scored tons of goals for Celtic, about to come on for a Prem debut for Norwich. How they could use some goals from him.
Gabby Agbon is also coming off and Villa are sticking on a real beanpole striker Helenius.
Helnius on for Agbon. The Dane making his third sub appearance.
Agreed about Norwich lacking guile. Astute as always
Lots of applauyse as Gary Hooper is on for the poor Elmander and Anthony Pilkington on for Nathan Redmond. That's one for the MUFC Academy factor.
I agree - Lambert got Norwich where they are today.
Poor cross by Fair after Villa sloppily conceded possession,. Poor cross by Fair and the Wolf is called for a foul on Adrian Luna.
Poor choice there by Van Wolf when the ball came over from Fer.
I am back from walkies
Millwall have won 0-1 at the Valley of the Shadow of Death in a SE London Local Derby. I fear no evil, thou rod and staff comfort me.
welcome back, UWS. Millwall won 0-1 at Charlton.
Twenty minutes to play - Norwich have a corner now.
Hooper wins a corner.,
The corner from Snoddy is cleared and Norwich lose the ball after a spell of possession.
Benteke now on the bench...with crutches!
That looks more like it as a naughty Norwich fan lets out his frustration. That's the Norwich behavior we rememeber
Bennett heads out a free kick from Bacuna for a Villa corner.
Kieran Clark heads wide from the Villa corner.
Quickie... name the two undefeated teams in the Prem
Tonev straight at Ruddy from 30 + yards.
Liverpool and the Hammers?
nope
Sorry. I'm changing it to Liverpool and Sotton.
nope
Kieran Clark called for a foul on Wolf about a foot outside the side of the box.
Liverpool and Everton?
Nice training ground move from the free kick... WHIFFED!!!
Pilkington with a seventies style bizarre beard.
Liverpool and Everton
Tonev off and Cylla on for Lambert's last change.
Momo Sylla on for Tonev
Correct Robert
Merseyside Undefeated
North London Top Two
Manchester.... let's be havin ya!!!
Kozak shows some good pace... nice saving tackle
Should be a cracker tomorrow morning.
Nice block by Bennett to prevent a second goal by Kozak.
The corner from Bacuna was far too high
Peter Drury is a bit late to the party with the Kojak references - I mentioned that about forty minutes ago. Gi' us a job, NBC!
The first Kojak reference of many this season
The loser of the Manc Derby has some ground to make up. A draw helps neither team
England's women 6-0 up against Belarus in WC qualifying... why can' the men do that
I agree. The Three Robbies would be really entertaining. Bob could say Good morning me and Good Morning from them.
Nearly an OG from Kieran Clark off a crossby Aston Martin.
Another numpty comment from Efan - he thought that Kieran Clark had given away a legitimate penalty - but he's "the outstanding player at the back for Villa." Make your mind up, Efan!
I could do the story time bit in an oversized armchair.
Norwich should have shot twice before the Wolf has a shot blocked
OH! wolf has a shot deflected for a corner. Nice cross from Pilkington, behavior learned at OT.Too many passes. The corner from Pilkington just too high
Did you see that either today's late game isn't on NBC but on Live... that didn't last long on the main NBC channel!
MSNBC also have games tomorrow morning. I would ben it is because of Formula 1
Chris Turner fortunate not to be booked for a foul on Adrian Moon. Actually he was deservedly booked.
Turner picks up a yellow for a hack.
I think the late match is on NBC Sports Channel. I appreciate you mentioning the early match on MSNBC because I couldn't find it.
It's better than MSNBC's usual grisly weekend lineup of prison porn. The shut-ins who usually tune in for that stuff will no doubt be bemused by the sight of Englishmen running about.
You do deserve the comfy armchair in the Alastair Cooke fashion.
What's Ef saying?
Really hilarious, Bob, but really well stated and true.
Nothing substantial. Was Ef a former Canary.
A load of old cobblers as usual. Efan is the worst.
Oh - Big Brad denies Hooper - he's keeping Villa's lead single-handedly.
Superb reflex tip over by Guzan from Hooper off a nice cross from Garrido.
Guzan does well to catch the corner from Snoddy.
How good are the American keepers?! Both TImmy and Brad would be the England squad.
I am sure that Delia will not be baking any cobblers or pies for Paul Lambert.
Absolutely, Bob. Would they start ahead of Hart?
Into stoppage time.
Into five minutes of stoppage time.
Five minutes, which sounds about right.
A long free kick by Aston Martin is easily cleared.
Useless cross from Snoddy. Poor ER form, LOL!
Delia chomping on the nails rather than something from the oven!
This result will put Delia off her post-match poached pears with vinaigrette reduction.
Helen Back played for Norwich?
Great anoraking , Bob.
Cheers, mate - I am the official LOB "foodie."
Useless by Norwich... get it in the box
Norwich pay the price for key mistakes by former Leeds players. Snoddy missed a pen and Howson's poor cross led to the Villa goal on the break.
That's it
Villa have won
Are Norwich in trouble this year?
A bad loss for Norwich who may well end up in the dropzone tonight.
Villa in 0-1 and they just about deserved it.
Could be . It's very tight at the bottom.
Next up is Liverpool v. Soton from Anfield. Here are the teams for that one:
Liverpool: Mignolet, Toure, Sakho, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, Henderson, Gerrard, Aspas, Moses, Sturridge.
Subs: Jones, Kelly, Sterling, Enrique, Wisdom, Ibe, Alberto
Southampton: Boruc, Clyne, Fonte, Lovren, Shaw, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Lallana, Rodriguez, Lambert, Osvaldo.
Subs: K. Davis, S. Davis, Ramírez, Ward-Prowse, Cork, Chambers, Hooiveld.
Wolves take a late lead at Shrewsbury.
I'm on this link now for Soccer Saturday chat.
Leeds start the day in 11th after that disastrous mid-week loss. Here are the line-ups at Elland Road:
Leeds - Kenny, Byram, Wootton, Pearce, White, Tonge, Murphy, Austin, McCormack, Diouf, Varney. Subs. Cairns, Brown, Mowatt, Green, Hunt, Poleon, Smith.
Burnley: Heaton, Trippier, Duff, Shackell, Mee, Marney, Jones, Kightly, Arfield, Vokes, Ings. Subs. Cisak, Lafferty, Stanislas, Edgar, Stock, Treacy, Long.
Referee: L Probert
Pool kick off against Soton at Anfield. Sturridge has four in four - a new Liverpool record. Can he keep the streak going?
Jordan Henderson robbed that one off Sturridge's toe.
Odd back-line for Liverpool today - four center backs!
First chance at Elland Road - and it's gone to Burnley! Good save by Kenny. Spitty making his first start of the season.
Bournemouth have converted a penalty for an early lead at Boro.
I am back after hanging some pictures
Newcastle take the lead
I am back.
Welcome back, chaps. Newcastle have just taken the lead. A first goal for Loic Remy.
