Wahay - It's Saturday!
After a long, long week at work, it's an absolute pleasure to join all of you for some Premiership footie this morning. We start with the mid-table clash of Swansea v. Everton. That's followed at 10am EST by Spurs v. Villa. I'll be leaving at half-time for an Open House event on campus but the rest of you can enjoy Arsenal's visit to Turf Moor as the late one. Join me for a cuppa this morning, eh?

Good morning Bob. It's great to join you for all the action . How have you been?
Derby vs Brentford is BEIN shown on the telly. Paul Ince was stung by a foul by Diagourra. He's only lectured.
NBC Sports is "on tour" in Britain today, with some pitch side reports throughout the day today. Lee Dixon showing us around Turf Moor right now. Nice touch but it does remind viewers that most weekends this lot is reporting from New Jersey.
A decent curling free kick that was not too far wide, but David Button had it covered as the free kick had too much curl.
Morning, mate - it's good of you to join me. I'm doing fabulous.
Naughty by Tarkowski on Derby skipper Richard Keogh as he's booked. The free kick is taken short and David Button does well to save a powerful effort from Ince.
It was great talking to you l;ast night. The Gooner and I were talking logistics about my mother-in-law, and footie.
Really sorry to hear about Elizabeth's mother, mate.
I'm wondering if the Rams vs the Bees will make for better viewing than the Swans snacking on some Toffees or something toffee flavored.
Thanks mate. I'm not sure about the severity, but we will know after the initial chemo on the 21st.The Gooner said not too promising. I forgot to mention that Elizabeth is requesting that it not be mentioned on FB because the family doesn't want her grandmother to know since her aunt recently passed away.
The first shot on target fo the Bees as Lee Grant saves a close range volley from Andre Gray
The teams getting set for the early one:
Everton - Howard, Coleman, Stones, Jags, Baines, McCarthy, Barry, Lennon, Barkley, Osman, Kone. Subs: Robles, Mirallas, Naismith, Besic, Pienaar, Garbutt, Alcaraz.
Swansea - Fabs, Rangel, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Ki, Cork, Routledge, Shelvey, Siggy, Gomis. Subs: Amat, Britton, Emnes, Dyer, Grimes, Tremmel, Fulton.
The volley was from Odebajeo.
Of course, I'll keep among the LOB community.
Cheers mate.
Thanks for your support and the support of the LOBers.
The verdict is a corner as Judge wins one off of Ince then Tarkowski heads wide from a cross by Judge off a short corner.
Albentosa fouls Pritchard, on loan from the Spuds just outside the Rams box. Free kick to the Bees.
OH!!!! The curling free kick from Judge was about a foot wide, but Lee Grant seemed to have it covered,
Teams in the tunnel now at the Liberty Stadium. Sounds like there's an air raid warning going off.
The teams are walking out on the pitch at the Liberty Stadium.
I noticed that. What's up with that? Is it an air raid or a tornado warning?
It's hard to believe that the Championship season ends four weeks from today, except for the playoffs. It just doesn't seem possible.
Swansea start this match in 8th on 46 points, probably too far back to get into a European slot. Everton are well out of it, in 12th on 37. They can be safe in the Prem for another season with an away win today.
GOAL !!!! PRITCHARD GIVES THE BEES THE LEAD AT PRIDE PARK WITH A SUPERB CURLING EFFORT IN THE CORNER. THE BEES WON A TACKLE IN THEIR OWN HALF THEN DOUGLAS FOUND PRITCHARD, WHO DID THE REST.
And we're away in Swansea on what looks to be a lovely spring day. Would kill for one of those here in Fred-town.
As I was typing , the Prem match kicked off. I think both teams are basically safe.
I can't wait to see the back of the Championship season, mate. It hasn't been a pretty one for the LUFC, I can tell you. I don't expect to get much of today's visit from Cardiff either.
I sure hope you get one of those. Is it supposed to warm up this week? It did here about ten days ago.
An early corner for the Toffees from baines is easily caught by flappy.
That Brentford goal puts the Bees above Derby in the playoff spots. Brentford now in 5th, Derby in 6th but in danger of losing that position to Wolves who have a Brummie derby later today against the Blue Noses.
We've warmed up but it's rained all week. I'm sure that it's good for my yard but not fun to walk around in.
The Bees lead away to the Rams in a playoff six pointer. Pritchard had a chance for a second as he shot straight at Grant then Ince was tackled on a Rams break.
I would to see your lot defeat the Evil Red Dragons. it's a mid table clash, so anything can happen.
The teams at the Liberty just kind of feeling each other out - a slow start to this one.
Tarkowski blasts over from close range after the Rams failed to clear. Wally will be in a real brolly at the half. It won't be a pretty halftime talk.
Oh - Kone was nearly in there but couldn't get his feet straight.
Your weather sounds similar to ours about four to six weeks ago. I sure hope you get some sunshine soon. I know you are looking forward to riding your bike.
A much more entertaining match at Pride Park.
A return to South Wales for Roberto as he manages against one of his former players in the form of Garry Monk.
Routledge is down after being elbowed in the back by Jags.
Routledge is up and ready to resume.
Tarkowski heads out a corner from Ince for another.
Sounds like it - this one has been very cagey. Not sure why - these teams don't have much to play for at this point.
The Bees counter off the next corner.
I guess they keep to the script. That's how Roberto and his understudy manage their teams.
Oh - that's a nice strike from Gomis on the turn, tipped around well by Timmy. Howard's form was a bit ropey at the beginning of the season but he's had a good month.
Oh - and Williams climbs and heads over from the resulting corner. Another corner now.
Timmy turns around an effort from Gomis. Ashley Williams heads wide from the corner.
It's another and a header from the next corner was blocked.
Siggy swings another one in and Fernandez attacks it at the backstick! Headed away well. First real pressure of the match.
It appears that I will be flying to Richmond on June the 19th unless you would like me to fly out a day earlier so I can throw you a bachelor party!
The Prem match has come to life.
Gomis has gone off injured and is replaced by Marvin Emnes. A good thing that the Swans are safe.
Two minutes of stoppage time at Pride Park
Gomis is coming off now with a hammy strain. Mavin Emnes coming on for him.
A cross from Stephen Warnock is overcooked as he's playing his second match for the Rams. Bob will remember him.
Boos from Pride Park as the Bees are one up at the half.
Osman fouls Ki.
Rangel shoots well over off a run and pass from Ki, who has unlocked the Toffees soft centre.
Kone is booked for leading with his arm on Fernandez, who made the most of it.
Shelvey's getting the better of his midfield battles against Osman and co.
Perhaps not as some gel is applied on his noggin.
I agree with the commentators - Gary Monk is the most promising young British manager around.
The Swans have definitely been the better side.
I agree too. If Woy were to step down then he would be the best replacement bar his lack of experience.
Steven Pienaar is on for Leon Osman, who concludes his brief appearance. Roberto observes what Bob observed as he was losing his midfield battles.
The announcer said it was a groin problem. No wonder why his performance lacked the balls!
Looking at the relegation battle this weekend, I don't see Leicester getting anything from their trip to an improving WBA side or Burnley getting anything from the Gunners who are flying at present. QPR will be lucky to get a point out of Chelski. So, it could be a great weekend for Hull.

The announcer talked about the possibility of EL footie for the Swans. I don't think Mr. Monk would like that.
Boom boom, mate! You're on fire already and it's not even 7:30 your time yet.
Might be a double-edged sword for the Swans, really.
Shelvey scores with a nice finish, but the whistle had blown seconds earlier as Baines fouled Routledge. The ref should have played on.
Cheers mate. Humor keeps me going as well as chatting on LOB.
Oh - Coleman with a raking drive there tipped around by Fabs.
It will be tough for Hull City at Seventh placed Saints, but they need something as they have a really tough run in
That shot had plenty of mustard.
The second half is underway at Pride Park.
Wally in a Brolly made a substitution as Johnny Russell was replaced by Darryl Dawkins.
A point against a faltering Saints side should be doable. That would put Hull on 29 points, three points ahead of QPR. Their run in is dangerous but if they could just chip away with one point a match, they might well survive.
Coleman wins a corner fro the Toffees.
That may not be enough as that would put them on 35 points. It looks bleak for Brucie's lads.
After this, we will see Tim Sherwood make a bouncy return to SFL.
Another disappointing corner from Baines that is easily caught by Flappy.
35 points may well be enough for safety this season. Leicester are down - they won't get to 30 points, IMHO. Then it's essentially two from probably three, as Villa and Sunderland look just about out of the fray.
Andre Gray has a shot deflected for a corner as he was through on goal.
GOAL! LUFC Academy gives the Toffees a surprising lead!
GOAL !!! LENNON , STRAIGHT FROM THE LUFC ACADEMY GIVES THE TOFFEES A LEAD ON THE ROAD.
The Toffees have been slow to get into this match but Lennon took that bobbly cross so well and rifled it right footed past Flappy.
That goal takes Everton on to the magic 40 points - still bottom half, but safe.
For once, a great end product from Lennon. Kone found McCarthy down the left and his pass was put away by Lennon as he cut in front of Pienaar, his former teammate at the SPuds.
Based on your prediction, the Toffees were already safe , coming into this match. I think 37 is the magic number for safety.
Three minutes of stoppage time.
Pienaar has a shot easily saved by Flappy . Nice pass from Kone.
Great Everton move ending up with Pienaar with a side footed effort, saved by Flappy. Shame that wasn't a goal - the move deserved it.
Nearly half time now. Everton will go in quite pleased by the patient approach they've taken here. They absorbed the early pressure and can now sit on their lead a bit.
The Toffees are one up at the half. As Bob stated , a win basically guarantees safety for the Toffees.
This Rams performance has been lacking the sting against the Bees.
The Bees nearly went two up as Forsyth cleared off the line from Douglas. A cross from Judge was played across the box by Jota .
that was the last action for Jota as he was replaced by Stuart Dallas , the Northern Ireland international
The Bees would seem to naturally have more sting than a bunch of Rams, no?
A great run and cross down the right by Stuart Dallas and Andre Gray, the Bees top scorer , heads over at the far post from two yards out with a free header. The Bees could easily be four or five up.
We're back on at the Liberty - what does Gary Monk have up his sleeve now?
The second half is underway at the Liberty.
BOOM BOOM! Too true, mate. It's been a really flat performance by the Rams, who are playing as if they have run into a beehive and have been stung by the lot of them.
The announcer said that the Rams have lacked cohesion and energy. I am inclined to agree.
Chris Martin and Harley Dean. Both are down.
Jesse Lingaard, on loan from United is on for Craig Bryson and Zak Whitbread is on for Stephen Warnock in the final roll of the dice for Wally in his Brolly.
Nice shot of Garry Monk getting hit with the ball. He didn't seem amused by it.
BEIN advertises the MOTD in Spain as Barca have a tricky fixture at Sevilla.
Neil Taylor is booked for a foul on the LUFC Academy boy.
The Bees have scored twenty goal in the final ten minutes of matches, which has won them ten extra points. The last thing they want to hear as Smith is on for Andre Gray.
Morning Boys
A slept in a little today and watched some the match upstairs. Saw the goal
Im not sure how long I will be around today but I will stay as long as I can
I already have my SS link working well
nice save from David Button from a header by Zak Whitbread off the corner . The next corner is headed away.
Good morning UWS. Great to hear you are well rested and ready for the action.
Morning, UWS - how are you, mate?
Not too happy... my spring break is almost over!!!!
A long two plus months left!!
I heard on Talksport that Cardiff were bringing no fans to ER today because of the lack of tickets given in the first place
Alex Pritchard , the scorer and on loan from the Spuds , is replaced by a player on loan from the Gunners.
Should be a doddle, mate. You must be fully refreshed after your break.
I hope you have had a great Spring Break and that you are well rested for the final stretch.
Thinking of all of you in Texas
Give my best to Elizabeth
Dreading it!
I wonder what Bob makes of the ticket allocation. You musty be delighted.
Cheers UWS. I will pass that on to Elizabeth
I wouldn't give any tickets to away Cardiff fans either - they'd just make mischief at ER.
You can do it. Before you know it , you will be on Summer vacation.
and then hawaii!!!!
Should have been a booking there for a slide in on Kone.
Four minutes of stoppage time at Pride Park
Agreed, Bob. I don't blame you.
WOW!! That sounds like an excellent vacation. Enjoy.
GOAL !!! DARREN BENT TIES IT UP FOR THE RAMS IN STOPPAGE TIME AGAINST THE RUN OF PLAY.
So, Bournemouth won at Brighton last night and are four points clear at the top with four games for them to play
Could they do it?
I want them to. I don't want the same teams like Watford coming up... I like new teams
Derby have just tied it up in added time!
Bournemouth play at Reading midweek.. will the Royals have Wembley on their minds
When are you headed to Hawaii, mate?
A long range effort from Hendrick turned out to be pass to Bent, who was in the right place at the right time and diverted the pass/shot in. Harsh on the Bees, who failed to put away their chances.
The Cherries as I said play at Wembley-Bound Reading
They then play at home to Wednesday on a Saturday, host Bolton on a Monday and finish the season at the Valley
Win them all and they're up
I'm in their corner
August 21
Promotion will probably go down to the final match.
Sweet.
It finishes 1-1 at Pride Park . Despite the late equalizer, there is a chorus of boos from the home fans,
SS said that Brentford dominated from start to end and blew it
SS said that Brentford dominated from start to end and blew it
PENALTY SWANS AS COLEMAN MAKES A CLUMSY CHALLENGE ON EMNES. WAS IT A FOUL THE OTHER WAY BEFORE.
Penalty to Swansea - Seamus Coleman has fallen over on the ball and the referee has pointed to the spot.
tIMMY BOOKED FOR TIME WASTING.
Penalty to Swansea for a silly handball by Coleman
Howard gets a yellow for time wasting
Shelvey nets the spot kick
Timmy picks up a yellow card for time-wasting.
Shelvey strokes it in the right corner.
1-1!
GOAL !!! SHELVEY PUTS THE SPOT KICK IN THE CORNER, SENDING TIMMY THE WRONG WAY.
Spot on by SS about the match at Pride Park.
Flappy easily saves from Barkley.
Anyone notice what is on ESPN 2 right now
Big day of sport today
Bob, you missed my worldwide sports updates a few weeks back... I was commentating on everything
I might do the same today
Today we have the footer, the Grand National and the Masters
Handbags between Shelvey and Jags.
Nice one, UWS. will you be watching that instead?
The footer is all that matters to me. You can keep your horse racing.
If you get BEIN then you can watch rugby too.
LOL, Bob.
Great goals last week
Which was your favorite
Any of the Gummers' goals
Rooney's
Gomis'
Adams'
Defoe's
I would say Defoe for me
Did you see what was on ESPN2
Marvin Emnes scuffs a shot wide after being superbly put through by Shelvey.
On SS are talking about Krul getting stick for congratulating Defoe in the tunnel at half time
Jamie Carra is really giving him stick.. they're supposed to be at war.. what an idiot!
How about being a decent human being and say... well done mate!
Naismith on for Kone.
Naismith coming on now to replace Kone.A.
What's on ESPN2, mate?
Mine was that effort from Charlie Adam. Next would be Defoe.
UWS will be watching cricket and not the kind that chirps.
Clash of heads there.
It's 1-1 in this match as well as the one that was on BEIN.
I agree with you, UWS - I've got no problem with players congratulating each other as long as it doesn't affect performance. Like when players give a keeper a pat on the shoulder when he saves one from them. It's a nice gesture.
Clumsy by Ashley Williams on McCarthy and deservedly booked.
Another injury problem now - Williams crashing into McCarthy - picks up a yellow.
I agree. A lack of class from Caradonna given that the Prem is working on improving sportsmanship and respect from the players
Ref bails out Flappy there; he came and got nowhere.
Nice passing move from the Toffees , but a poor final ball from Barkley
Nathan Dyer on for Shelvey , who is applauded by the home fans.
Lennon is booked for a foul on Siggy, his former teammate at SFL.
Timmy tips over the free kick from Siggy
Timmy tips over well there from the free kick.
Mirallis is on for Barkley . The final roll of the dice from Roberto.
Mirallas on for Barkley now. He'd be on my team sheet every week.
Mirallis is making his 100th appearance for the Toffees.
The Toffees win another corner.
Flappy does well to catch a corner from Baines as he was pressured by Naismith
Monchengladbach take the lead vs Dortmund in the first minute in a local derby.
Mirallis straight at Flappy.
This one is petering out to an inevitable 1-1 draw now.
It finishes 1-1. The Toffees should be safe now that they are on 38 points.,
I am back from the loo for the final whistle
It is Cricket on the Deuce!
West Brom wearing 1968 Cup Final shirts today for Jeff Astle Day
Apparently, there is a Jeff Astle Day every season
The match is chosen by his family every year
I'm off to get dressed and walk the dogie
I'll be back in a while
They're off from SFL.
Cheers UWS. Enjoy.
I'm back from a refreshing shower for the start of the Spurs v. Villa match.
Not the most convincing punch by worm despite being the early bird.
Welcome back mate. You need to be clean if watching a match at SFL.
Celtic drew 1-1 away to Nessie's team.
Cieran Clark for England? He's already been capped by the Republic of Ireland. How does that work?
