OH! Burnley should have taken the lead. George Boyd nicked the ball off of Ryan Mason and Danny Ings shot straight at Worm. Doesn't he know that the early bird catches the worm, or something like that.
A minute of stoppage time as Worm did well to tip over an effort from Danny Ings.
Now Kyle Walker is down injured in injury time.
He hobbles off, but seemed to pull a muscle from an outstretched challenge.
It's 0-0 at the half. It was not exactly a classic. Tom Heaton saved two comfortable long range efforts while Danny Ings should have scored in the fifth minute for Burnley and had a decent effort tipped over at the beginning of stoppage time./

Well, since I've been watching there has very little football and a lot of thrashing about. I know that Burnley are desperate for points but this is ridiculous.

Spurs have a chance to leapfrog Liverpool into 5th today with losses from Pool and Soton yesterday. If they don't win today, you'd have to consider the top four spots basically locked up, as Citeh would have seven more points and a chance to make it 10.
There was plenty of that in the first half, but there are more tackles this half. The first half was both teams coughing up possession

If you want to put things in financial perspective, the Spuds spent more on Lamella than Burnley have on every transfer combined in their entire history. To think he's only a sub today or is it a sign of how foolishly they have managed their finances?

If this match ends in a draw then Burnley move up to third from bottom, behind the Black Cats on gd, pending the result of the next match. The Spuds would leapfrog the Saints into sixth and would be behind Liverpool on gd.

OH!!! The Black Cats should have gone two up. Jordi Gomez nicked the ball off of Janmaat then played a one two with Defoe. Then his cross was volleyed into the ground by Steven Fletcher and tamely to Krul as he was unmarked. Dick Advocate was furious.
That goal by Defoe was the first by Sunderland in six hours and nine minutes at the SOL. The Black Cats were long overdue.
Back from a refreshing shower; I'm curious to see what response if any the Magpies have to that spectacular Defoe goal.

The key fixtures are likely to be Tuesdays clash with QPR and the end of the season clash with Burnley on 24 May. It may all go down to that one.
