Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Football's Worst Sitters

Adam Lallana's massive clanger at the death of this past weekend's Man Citeh v. Liverpool clash got me thinking about famous misses. Of course, there is that classic Ronny Rosenthal miss for Liverpool, where the striker rounded the keeper only to somehow contrive to hit the bar with his shot.

I thought you might enjoy this compilation of great footballing sitters. Cheers!

Bloody hell, Gazza - yeah. You know, we were up in the other end, so we didn't know at the time how close he was. When you look at Gazza lumbering after that cross you can tell that, had he sworn off one late night at the kebab house with Rod Stewart, we'd have been in the final.

I think we did. I can definitely remember seeing him storming in and yelling "YEAAASSS!!!" and then being tremendously let down that he'd missed it. It was the beginning of an ominous feeling from then to Andy Moeller's dickish penalty celebration.
