Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

It's 0-0 in both matches early on.
Loving this availability of the Football League!!
Brendan Galloway, on loan from the Toffees, wins an early corner for the Black Cats.
Good afternoon, UWS. Last year they had the opening match on BEIN
Great chant before the kick off for that young boy that died during the summer
I think matches are on BEIN too sometimes.
I don't think it is today but I love ESPN having it
The Rams struggling to hold on as Honeyman had a shot cleared off the line then Grabban had a shot blocked by Wisdom.
Agreed, UWS> He passed away last month at only six years of age. Derby County have a seven year old fan with the same illness.
I MISSED THE GOAL!!
I'll finally be able to start changing my League tables tonight
All the teams are alphabetical right now
YIKES!!!! I went into the garage to get the plumber a plastic bucket and come in to see the Rams score against the run of play. Bradley Johnson, the former , LUFC player, scores against his former LUFC boss.
Derby County top of the table
The Rams top and Fred, like his team, bottom for falling asleep
Lots of empty seats at the SOL. It may be like this all season.
Derby 1st, Millwall 2nd, Forest 3rd, Sunderland 24th
Millwall hit the woodwork
Lions on top
Bob will not be pleased.
The. Championship starts a week earlier then the Premier League. It also ends a week earlier! So it is two weeks shorter and EIGHT games longer!
The replay of the goal shows absolutely disgraceful defending by the Black Cats,
The play a lot of midweek matches. It's a busy schedule. All the more reason not be relegated from the Prem.
Johnny Russell fouls Galloway near the Rams corner flag.
OH!!!! Carson does well to tip over a close range effort from Cattermole .
James Vaughan has a shot go off his own player for a goal kick off a pass from Cattermole. A sign of how things have gone for the Black Cats,
NDong the Bong is well wide with a long range effort.
Wisdom and None Too Wise fouls Cattermole.
PENALTY TO THE BLACK CATS AND THE REPLAY SHOW IT WAS BY JACOB BUTTERFIELD. A WAY BACK INTO THE MATCH FOR THE BLACK CATS? THEY HAVEN'T SHOWN ANY THREAT PRIOR TO NOW.
GOAL !!!! LEWIS WAS GRABBAN AN EQUALIZER FOR THE BLACK CATS FROM THE SPOT.
Barry McKay has given Forest the lead vs the Evil Lions.
sorry for being in and out
Moving stones the back
Forest leading one nil
TOP OF THE TABLE!
A minute of stoppage time.
Evil Millwall bottom
It's 1-1 at the half at the SOL.
Hiya, lads - just finishing up lunch and checking in with ESPN3.
HT SoL
Welcome back, UWS.
Hiya Bob
Good afternoon, Bob.
Can't believe you're not here this weekend to put all the stones in the back!!
NO...you'll be here to see it done!
I see that my old LUFC pal Bradley Johnson has scored for Derby today.
What stones, mate?
Got a pile in the driveway and wheelbarrowing them back!!
I can't find the link - do you have it?
You're old mate, Simon Grayson, is in charge of the Black Cats.
It's on www.espn3.com.
That doesn't sound like my kind of fun, mate!
Couldn't find it there.
Go to Schedules
Soccer
I finally found it but the link is dead. Never mind, I'll just follow the Guardian text.
Once you're on the sire, go to the link that says schedule and replays. Click that and it will be under the column that says soccer
The second half is underway
We are off for the second half
ESPN weren't late!!
I'm surprised that UWS isn't watching the cricket match between the Birmingham Bear and Worcestershire.
Jason Steele turns around a cross/ shot from Forsyth.
James Vaughan just wide after Honeyman had a shot blocked.
Cattermole has a long range effort deflected straight to Scott Carson.
I watched the Test Match most of the day!
NDong cuts out a pass for a Rams corner. Richard Keogh heads wide with a free header off the corner from Fatty. It was deflected for another corner that was cleared away
I had noticed it on Watch ESPN. A surprising number of cricket and rugger matches available. I remember BEIN showing Rugger matches.
Grayson is apparently having a fit on the touchline. Hope he bursts a blood vessel, the Judas.
Galloway tackles Wisdom and well Wise for a Rams corner.
LOL, mate. He's put on quite a bit of weight in the past few years. To be honest, I didn't see anything unusual from him on the touchline.
Fred was not pleased by your remark about Grayson. Simon, not Larry.
OH!!! Off the inside of the post from Grabban after Bradley Johnson gifted possession to Cattermole.
Jon Champion says that the Rams are winless in seven previous visits to the SOL. Is the eight time the charm?
You found the link Bob?
Nothing doing on ESPN3 today, sadly.
Are you a numpty!!
http://www.espn.com/watch/schedule/
Sorry, mate. Hopefully, there's the link for the match at ER on Sunday.
Like for like as Vydra is on for Weimann as the Rams make a substitution.
I think the match is on BEIN
French League Champs, Monaco , being holed to Desmond at home to Toulouse , who hope not to lose.
I checked the website and the telly and it shows a friendly between Dortmund and Rot Weiss Erfurt at that time. Hope that's subject to change.
Yeah - that doesn't look likely. However, I'll enjoy the Community Shield match and then the text updates of the match from the Reebok.
Monaco now lead 3-2 as the visitors are looking like they came Toulouse.
It is on BEIN
The League Cup has some whacko name this season... sigh
Another sigh is for the Premier League allowing teams to have sleeve sponsors! United are going to have Tinder!
Vardy ties it up for the Foxes vs Monchengladbach. Citeh hammered the Hammers earlier today.
BLOODY HELL!!!! That's getting a bit too shirty!
Chris Martin with an atrocious effort... it just landed!!
LOL!, UWS. It heard it almost made it to Berwick.
It shows Bundesliga on my TWC/Spectrum guide - dunno.
The League Cup is called the Carabao Cup. Sounds like the sponsors are from Curacao.
What's the chance of a link on FS1 for our opening EFL Cup match against Port Vale on Wednesday?
James Vaughan went down easily. That was never going to be awarded as a spot kick.
Sorry, mate. It's now called the Carabao Cup.
David Nugent on for Chris Martin
NDong fouls Bradley Johnson just outside the Black Cats box.
Into the wall by Vydra.
I'm never calling it that. Sorry.
Nerves as Steele as the Black Cats keeper gathers the corner by Fatty
By the way, only one week left to get your PPP predictions in. Tick tock, gents!
Me neither
ALSO
Sunday's game is still the Charity Shield in my book
Don't blame you. Jamie Vardy with his and the Foxes second as they have come from behind to take the lead vs Monchegladbach
Thanks for the reminder, Bob. Agreed, Dave. I think of it as the Charity Shield too.
Just checked BEIN
YOu're right
Thanks . I wish we were wrong.
ESPN show the match on their schedule!
Lee Cattermole and Billy Jones showing why they're not strikers.
Cattermole could've and should've buried that one
We will need to watch it then on presumably, Watch ESPN.
What do you think of Sunderland almost pinstripes kit?
I don't like it
I'm willing to compromise with the EFL Cup and the Community Shield. But I'm not going to keep up with every bloody corporate sponsor that the EFL gets to sponsor their ruddy tournament.
And all red in the back
I can't even see it and I hate it.
A tad naughty by Vydra on Galloway
Under five minutes now for one of these sides to win it.
Not too fond of the new kit. Agreed about the ridiculous number of sponsors for the League Cup dating back to our high school days.
James Vaughan is the first player of the match booked as he's punished for a rash challenge on Richard Keogh.
Into stoppage time.
Just a pair of minutes.
A brave close range save by Jason Steele from David Nugent.
It finishes 1-1 at the SOL.
Derby pressing in added time
Nugent should have scored
That should do it
It is over
Honors even
Forest still winning
Apparently Millwall have created a lot of chances but still trail
From the Beeb
FULL-TIME
Nottingham Forest 1-0 Millwall
Posted at
16:38
Well, they won't know how they did it but Nottingham Forest have beaten Millwall.
The Lions may take another five games to create this many chances.
Debutant Barrie McKay's brilliant first-half hit gives the Reds all three points. If you can't be good, be lucky.
Take care boys
It's the Cottagers vs the Canaries and Villa vs the Tigers tomorrow on Watch ESPN . Sunday it will be Bolton vs Leeds on Watch ESPN
So Forest will top the league at least temporarily and Sunderland and Derby share the honors. Millwall on the bottom of the table. That suits me just fine.
Cheers, UWS. Look forward to chatting with you tomorrow.
Cheerio, lads - see you in the morning.
Agreed, Bob. I second that
Cheers lad. Look forward to chatting with you tomorrow.
