Teams are out on the pitch and anthems are being represented now. Looks mighty hot!
Even the Honduran blokes are sweating and they haven't started running about yet. Crikey!
Several of our guys are going to keel over before the Honduran anthem finishes - boy, it's long!
The US side tonight -

The corner is taken short and it comes to naught as a foul is called against Honduras.

Decent start from the US.
The corner from Bradley is nodded down by the Pie Eater then the Hondurans go down the pitch and Elis wins a Honduran corner.

The first booking of the match for Jorge Clarios as he clatters into Clint off a long U.S. clearance.
Later this evening the Ticos host Mexico and Panama hosts T&T. Both matches kick off at 10 PM.
The Ticos-Mexico match-up is moot now. Panama and the Tobogganers has some import, though. A draw in both would be just fine.
Agreed about the Ticos match. A T&T win would be great for the U.S. as T&T are basically eliminated and it would hurt Panama.
Yeah - you're right. That would be good.
Maynor Figueroa booked for an agricultural challenge on Clint.
Another free kick chance now for Bradley. A cheap goal for the US would be lovely for insurance.

Zusi was out of position there and Elliott was able to get the shot off. Brad was behind it.
A quarter of the match done. 0-0 is looking like a good result.
Agreed. A win here then against Panama in Orlando, then at T&T would ensure a trip to Russia.
Oh - Quioto was in there but Beasley stooped to head over. Desperate stuff.
OH!!!! The closest either team has come to scoring as Quioto is alone in the box and volleys well over from ten yards out.

Honduras score through Quioto and the US are in deep trouble.

Gonzalez was beaten for pace by that through ball and Quioto was able to run on to it and finish past Guzan in the right corner.
Now we need a goal. It gets harder.
A through ball was badly misjudged by Omar Gonzalez and Quioto was left with all the time in the world to pick his spot past Guzan.
Agreed. The conditions don't help.
Oh - another big chance for Honduras. We're getting ripped apart now. The heat is catching up with the US legs.
Quioto gets free down the left and pass across the box just eludes Lozano then the Quioto volleys over.

Beasler called for a foul on Claros just outside the U.S. box.
Thankfully, it's a useless free kick from Lopez.

Beasley booked for a foul on Elis, who would have been off to the races.
Nagbe curls a long range effort well wide off a decent U.S. possession.
Lopez rushes out to block a close range effort from Pulisic off a one two with the Pie Eater. Better from the U.S.
Decent chance there for Pulisic who looks like the only spark.
Acosta gives up yet another cheap one. Looked really soft.
Acosta fouls Elis just outside the U.S. box.
Oh - Guzan just about tipped it over from Figueroa's blast.
Figueroa blasts the free kick straight at Guzan who palms it over. Guzan catches the corner.
Guzan collects the corner as we inch toward the interval.

Everything is going through Pulisic but the Hondurans seem to have him sorted.
Lopez fiosts away a cross from Besler as the Pie Eater was in on goal/.
One final chance for the US. Bradley needs a good ball in.
Last chance for the U.S as Elis is called for a foul. It's a waste from Bradley as the U.S. are one up at the half.
Bradley wastes the free kick and that's half-time. Not good enough. The US headed toward fourth or fifth place at this point.

Guzan bobbles a shot from Lozano then gathers at the second attempt.

It's really frustrating to watch.
It is; the commentators are already starting to calculate the possibilities for the US if they suffer a loss tonight.
So frustrating to watch Pulisic tonight. He just ran into a Honduran there. Lucky to get a free kick really.

Dempsey blasts into the wall - another waste.
The free kick is blasted into the wall and it hits Quioto , the scorer in the noggin.
It seems as if the U.S is inching closer to missing their first World Cup finals since 1986.
Gonzalez is a real,liability for the U.S. Surely, there is someone moire capable of playing in the center of defense.
Should be some changes coming at the hour mark.
A powerful long range effort from Lopez is straight to Guizan after the ref twice played the advantage.
Acosta booked for a foul on Quioto near the corner flag. He got away with one on the previous Honduran possession.

Cameron coming on now for Zusi who is struggling. Really negative move. We need a goal!
The Mad Hatter yells " Hey Little Zusi", as he's yanked for Geoffie Cameron.
Both moves are on the negative side. Not sure where the goals are coming from.

Twenty minutes left for the US to dig this one out.
Some surprises in South American qualifying as Bolivia have defeated Chile 1-0 and Peru won 1-2 in Ecuador. Colombia drew 1-1 with Brazil, who have already qualified.
I saw that. Really surprising.

OH!!! Honduras nearly off a break from a corner from Acosta. Lozano was through with just Guzan to beat and had a shot go off the side netting.
Dempsey gives up a silly foul there.

We need a hail mary from Deuce right about now. Anything will do.
One last substitution for Honduras now. Palacios, a defender, on for Lozano.
Unfortunately, it seems as if the U.S. have run out of ideas. They have been deep fried.
Under ten minutes now - desperation time.
A big chance now - Pulisic is upended in a dangerous area. This one has to go in.
Alfredo Mejia fouls Pulisic about twenty five yards from goal.

WAY HAY !!! BOBBY WOOD TIES IT UP FOR THE U.S.
Acosta struck a great free kick and when it came back out, it was hooked back in by Gonzalez and Morris flicked on to Wood to finish.
1-1!
Phew! Now just hang on to it.
Lopez slapped away a powerful free kick from Acosta. The Honduran defender failed to clear and the Pie Eater did a back flick that let Bobby Wood smash in an equalizer from two yards out.
US just running down the clock now.
Agreed. Felling mighty relieved as I didn't see an equalizer coming from anyone.

US back up to third but Panama could jump over the US with a win against T&T tonight.
We will need to defeat Panama in Orlando next month.
Well done - Geoff Cameron shields it out there. Wasting time.
Yes - the last two are must wins.
A triplet of minutes of stoppage time for the U.S. to hang on.
Arriola has made a difference since coming on.
Arriola clears a cross for a late Honduran corner.
A push on the corner and the US can breathe again.
Thankfully, A Honduran push is called off the Honduran corner.
It looks as if Aguilar has sent off Figueroa. Second yellow.
And Figueroa is just wasting time now getting off the pitch. His manager won't appreciate it.
It goes from bad to worse for Honduras as Henry Figueroa is sent off for a second yellow. Boniek Garcia urges him off the push as he was refusing to leave.
That does it and the U.S gain an unlikely but vital point as they score a late equalizer as it finishes 1-1.
The final whistle comes and the US can relax. A point was always the result they needed. Hard won and not convincing at all. But it got done.
