Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

It's seven minutes in and 0-0. The primary gossip in the news is that Aaron Ramsey has signed a pre contract with Juve for next season and Arnautovic off to join a Chinese team. The latter sounds far fetched.
While I was typing I was also reading Lacazette and read about a superb long pass from Kolasinac, superb chest control and long range effort going just wide.
The Hammers in their traditional kit and the Gunners in all sky blue
Nasri concedes a corner to his former team
The corner eludes everyone, but makes it to Felipe Anderson, who curls a long range effort well wide.
Arlo mentioned that Nasri has been out of football for thirteen months due to a doping ban. The Gooner will not be surprised. Johnno may be wondering if this is a wise signing,.
Flappy , a former Gunner, makes a great close range block from Lacazette for a corner off a solo run. No, it's given as a goal kick
Nasri and Flappy are ex Gunners , starting for the Hammers today
Hair Bear 2.0 puts in a through ball for Aubama that's just too long , but manages to keep in play, His cross headed over by Lacazette.
Arnautovic plays Cresswell down the left and he nutmegs Maitland-Niles. His pass is gathered by Leno.
Nasri wins a corner against his former club,
Corner headed away and the Hammers keep possession.
Nasri wide with an effort after nice one touch passing from Mark Noble and Arnautovic.
Kos heads out a cross from Antonio for a Hammers corner.
Socrates with a close range block from Arnautovic off more one touch passing from the Hammers
OH!!! The closest either team has come to scoring . Arnautovic controls a long pass and lays it off for Felipe Anderson , who shoots just a few inches wide from just outside the D.
OH!!! The closest the Gunners have come to scoring as a long range effort from Hair Bear 2.0 clips the side netting.
David O'Leary and Pat Rice in attendance. The Gooner may remember them.
Sir Trev in attendance as well. Johnno may be familiar with him.
Antonio high and wide with a curling effort from just outside the corner of the box.
Kolasinac tackles Zaba for a Hammers corner off a nice possession.
Free header from Declan Rice off the corner headed well wide. A minute of stoppage time.
Arnautovic offside as the Hammers try one last attempt to score this half.
It's 0-0 at the end of s decent half that was fairly even
Th second half is underway from the London Stadium
Mustafi booked for tripping Felipe Anderson just outside the corner of the box as he appeared to be in Bedfordshire on that play
Kolasinac heads the free kick over for a Hammers corner.
Poor corner from Anderson cleared by the first man.
GOAL !!! IT DOESN'T MATTER AS DECLAN RICE SCORES HIS FIRST GOAL OF THE SEASON TO GIVE THE HAMMERS THE LEAD.
It was poor defending from the Gunners. First an unnecessary free kick was conceded then a poor corner was cleared, but Anderson went on a run down the right, his cross was poorly headed away and Nasri laid it off for Declan Rice scored with a first time finish from about ten yards out
Nasri with his Prem assist in several years , which will satisfy him against his former club. The Gooner will be none too pleased.
Morning, MUR! Thanks for getting us going today. We had a late birthday night and I somehow set the alarm wrong and slept through the first half. Nice to join you.
Here's a stat for you: Only Fulham (28) and Bournemouth (23) have conceded more goals away from home this season than Arsenal’s 22.
Zaba wins a corner off of Iwobi
Antonio heads straight to Jay Leno off the corner from Anderson
Good morning, Bob. Glad you are on board. Interesting and surprising stat concerning the Gunners.
The Hammers have a free kick near the Gunners corner flag. Anderson takes and Ogbonna heads well wide
A double substitution from the Emery Board. Torrerira for Xakha Khan , which is like for like and an attacking switch as Ramsey is on for Mustafi, who was partially to blame for the goal conceded.
Kolasinac booked for a poor foul on Antonio.
A stat just flashed on the screen . Declan Rice the first teenager to score a Prem goal for the Hammers since Junior Stanislaus in 2009.
Cross from Maitland -Niles headed well wide by Aubama.
High and wide by Aubama with just Flappy to beat. Iwobi played Kolasinac down the left and he played a nice through ball for aubama.
Back with a well-needed cuppa.
"Underlap." That's a term I've never heard before. But it makes sense.
Well done, mate. Sounds like you're match fit.
Oh - Iwobi goes inches wide with his shot across the West Ham goal.
Iwobi drags a shot wide off a pass from Maitland-Niles.
Not sure if I like that term . Commentators trying to be cute with supposedly modern phrases.
We'll see in about ten days when the semester starts if I'm match fit.
Bellerin comes on for Maitland-Niles then - a return from injury for the man.
The final roll of the dice from the Emery Board and pretty much like for like as Bellerin is on for Maitland-Niles.
And Sokratis and Kos won't like to see the figure of Andy Carroll coming on.
LOL, mate. Sure you will have a great semester. Melanie starts the same day as your university
Samir Nasri coming off to mixed reception, of course. An ovation from the home crowd and boos from the away support. Arno off as well. Might be his last match for the Hammers.
Like for like as Bob's beloved Snoddy on for Steve's beloved Nasri while Andy Caroll on for Arnautovic
Morning Boys
Watch the first half in bed. I am here for a while. Not sure what is on tap for me today. The walk has to be after this match... it is so cold!!
Got home late last night, went to the movies and dinner with Walt and Joe. Saw Green Book. I was pleasantly surprised.
Enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody the night before
Sad to hear he might be headed to China. Surely he has several Prem seasons left in him. His agent brother advocating a move that's all about a big paycheck, not the footie.
Has Arsenal ever won a match in this turquoise away number they've got on? I doubt it I looks more like a bridesmaid's dress.
Good morning, Dave. Great to have you on board. Didn't see the first movie, but enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody.
This score is good for my lot
Morning, Roger Ebert - great to have you on board. What's the movie offering for tonight?
LOL, Bob. I'm sure they have .Just not too often. Probably haven't had a halftime lead in this kit
Agreed, Dave. A great result as long as United do the business at Wembley tomorrow. The first big test for OGS
Sparky still sleeping as he was up a couple hours past his bedtime due to a two hour downpour that started around his bedtime. Not sure when walkies is today.
Speaking color... why don't West Ham have any turquoise in their kit any more.
Villa and West Ham
Chim Chiminy
Chim Chiminy
Chim chim charoo
We hate those bastard in Claret and Blue
I remember that song well from the match at Carrow Road, mate.
a tad naughty by Anderson on Bellerin.
don't remember it, but great from Canaries fans.
No other keeper has made more saves than Lucas Flappianski. Interesting stat.
Obiang on for Antonio for West Ham's last switch.
I agree it is the first test for OGS BUT under Jose... there is no way we would have won all five matches.
I don't care that they were lowly teams...we lost to all three promoted teams last season
This season... didn't beat Wolve and Palace at home. Lost to Derby. Ole's first five games have been tests and we have scored 2, 2, 3, 4 and 5.... conceded 3
In the league, we have gone from a GD of 0 to +11 in four matches!
The final roll of the dice from Manny P and a defensive minded move as Obbiang is on for Antonio.
Arsenal have it in the net but it's flagged offside.
No substitutions remaining for either side, which means none of those stoppage time substitutions, which should please UWS
Yup... our brush with agro at Carrow Road
So thankful that Kevin Bond netted that last minute penalty right in front of us
Agreed, UWS. We probably would not have won all five . Great start for OGS , but this will be his toughest match to date.
The manager switch has been brilliant for United; however, I have a feeling that it's a measure of player power rather than anything specific that Ole has done. Clearly United's team were capable of playing like this all season but they went on strike in order to get rid of Jose.
I remember a last minute Canaries penalty on ITV . Was that against Villa?
That's a great perspective, Bob. Hopefully, OGS can continue the winning start.
Bob, what do you wan the result to be at the Hawthorns today?
I hope Pompey can get a home win against Blackpool
Sunderland and Luton play each other at the SoL...will Luton drop off now because they lost their manager to Stoke midweek
I remember Canaries fans throwing coins at Charlie George when the Canaries hosted the Saints.
Yeah - that was the one. Justin Fashanu got himself sent off, which prompted a full-on riot in the stand behind the goal where we were.
Did they play the way Jose MADE them play?
We were in the very front of the stand with the cage right in front of us
There are two matches involving promotion rivals today - WBA v. Norwich and Blades v. QPR. Probably a draw in the first one and a QPR win in the second are my preferences.
Fred sure hopes so. That's a definite promotion six pointer at the SOL. Dave will probably want a draw at the SOL.
Got any plain Yorkies?
Sounds about right, Bob.
Sounds like a punchline, Dave. Not sure about that one.
There's probably an element of that, but in the end, the manager can only do so much after the players step across the white line. Lukaku, for example, looked like he'd forgotten how to score for the first few months of the season - and suddenly he's remembered?
Of course, this result would mean United cannot lose any ground to Arsenal.... COME ON TOON!!!!
"Oi Jimmy - want a sweetie?"
I remember all of it as if it were yesterday.
That was Bob's line at Carrow Road
an interesting fact regarding the Black Cats. The last two times Leeds won promotion from the second tier, the Black Cats did too. Will they this time from L1?
Rice with a slice of a clearance... corner... it won't matter... corners are dangerous any more
And that was in the days before Hillsborough and the Taylor Report. It was a really scary situation for us as kids.
At least the corner was put in the sort of dangerous area... Flappy doesn't flap and collects
A trio of stoppage time minutes.
Me too Bob
Remember those days well. A lot has changed since then.
Ball in the net, nice header... but offside
The only time I stood was at Wembley. Fortunately, I always sat at PR and CR
Arsenal have it in the net again - but again the linesman flag came up. That might be it.
That's it and the Hammers defeat the Gunners 1-0. First home win against the Gunners since 2006.
Arsenal have scored in each of their last 20 Premier League matches. Is this fine run over? Yes, it is. The Hammers hold on to win 1-0 through that goal by Damien Rice. Arsenal could lose ground in the race for the European spots.
That's it... the Hammers have beaten the Gunners
Very surprising score there
Will check to see if Sparky wants walkies on what looks to be a lovely day.
Next on NBCSN is the Seagulls vs Pool.
Bob, what are you doing for the Missus bday today?
Did you send my wishes?
I'm off for walkies .... think warm, think warm, think warm
Back from walkies on lovely morning and ready for the 10 AM matches
They're off from the AMEX
I am back right as they kicked off at the Amex...it's chilly!
Back with a birthday breakfast for Katie (sweet rolls and bacon) to watch the Brighton v. Liverpool.
The teams on display today:
Brighton (4-2-3-1) Button; Montoya, Duffy, Dunk, Bong; Stephens, Propper; March, Gross, Locadia; Murray.
Substitutes: Steele, Bruno, Balogun, Kayal, Knockaert, Sanders, And one.

On 5Live, during my walk, they said Three First Names might have hurt himself and Milner was stepping up his warm up...TFN did start but they are saying... maybe he is done
Fulham already ahead at Turf Moor
The Cottagers take the lead at Turf Moor in a relegation six pointer.
YES!! My firstonetv website of the BBC Red Button channel is working again this week!
Already got Final Score is already on
5Live said that Leicester have recalled a winger from a loan at the Hawthorns... just to have him on their bench. The Baggies wanted to keep him
Good news for Leeds
Don't call me Schurrle Temple with the goal
Love my Final Score... not as entertaining as Soccer Saturday... but great to get all the scores and reports from around the grounds
I think that winger is Harvey Barnes
ooh, thought Firmino would have buried that
The Real Dons in the lead at Coventry
First chance in Wales... New boy Jason Puncheon with a chance for the Terriers
Goal in the Championship
Brentford take the lead vs Stoke and their new manager
Penalty to the Saints at the Foxes
In the Asian Cup, Iran defeated Vietnam 2-0 while Iraq is leading Yemen by the same score late in the second half.
Southampton take the lead
Bloody Asian Cup????
Why didn't Son go off before the United match and not after
Salford City and Co playing in the Second Round of the FA Trophy today
Two of the bottom three winning away from home so far
The keeper for Cardiff City didn't even make the Phillipines squad, which is managed by Sven. They've lost both matches without scoring. Good job, Sven
Baggies take the lead
New Stoke manager not off to a good start as they've been stung by an away goal by the Bees.
That's a priceless Fulham goal from Don't Call Me Schurrle.
Leeds would have a SIX point lead over WBA and Norwich
That Saints goal scored by JWP , one of Claude's old mates
Speaking of Six points...Ipswich hosting Rotherham
That's a decent score from the HAwthorns.
Wahay! Dwight Gayle has put the Baggies into the lead! Good news!
You beat me to it, mate.
That's a definite relegation six pointer at PR. Hope the Tractor Boys do the same to Rotherham as Citeh did
Not sure what is the best score for Leeds today
I guess a draw
But... a WB win would mean they are six points clear of both
A NC win would reduce Leeds win BUT extend Leeds gap to third. That is more important, no?
I beat both of you for the Baggie goal but of course... two Mr. No Reload is reading
Fleetwood Mac sing about taking the lead against the Oxford Shoes that are dancing out of step
Free kick chance now for Liverpool with Shaqiri on it.
Fake Dons in the lead at Bury. Both Dons leading away from home.
Colchester two up at Port Vale./
Sunderland take the lead against Luton
I wouldn't mind Sunderland and Pompey run away with the top two
Fred is delighted that the Black Cats have taken the lead vs Luton, who just lost their manager
Apparently, Sunderland's goal was completely against the run of play
Stoke now two down at Brentford
Brentford thoroughly dominating Stoke
Burnley have tied it up
Hendrick with a shot deflected
That would be great for you and Fred.
Iraq three up vs Yemen in stoppage time.
I had a dream involving you the other night, MUR. I'll give you a call at half-time to fill you in on the details. It's pretty funny.
Martin Keown is a grouch pot on Final Score
That Burnley goal was an OG by Joe Bryan. Not great in the Life of Bryan. Nice python reference?
Final Score says it was going in anyway so Hendrick will get the credit
Sounds like Keown. Am interested to find out the details of the dream . Can't wait.
Burnley score again... this time FS says it is an OG this time!
A defensive header right into the net
Bees two up vs Stoke.
Reading 1 Mangerless Forest 0
Odoi OG
The Reading Railroad takes the lead vs Forest. Not good news for Ipswich
STOP ignoring my updates!!
Cottagers are being too polite on the road.
Dion complaining that Martin is moaning
Stoke get a goal back
Shaq just misses a glancing header
Gils in the lead at Richard Burton. Must be feeling the effects of that colonoscopy at the Etihad.
Blimey - it sounds as if Fulham are really pressing the self-destruct button!
Posh take the lead vs Rochdale.
Argyle Sweater in the lead at Southend on Sea.
Fulham hit the crossbar...end to end stuff in awful conditions at Turf Moor... reporter says it's brilliant
Macclesfield in the lead at Grimsby . Not good news for Cambridge
Cambridge playing a six pointer at Meadow Lane
Still scoreless
That was quite a mullering that the Gills got at the Etihad.
What's the update on your prostate, mate? Everything spic and span down there in your nether regions?
Charlton in the lead at the Shrews.
31 people have been in charge at Forest, 20 managers, since Cloughie
Stevie Nicks singing about dancing ebecause Fleetwood Mac goes two up vs Oxford.
WOW! That's a lot of managers. The lack of stability explains the lack of Forest progress.
WAY HAY! The Tractor Boys take the lead vs Rotherham
Now they have to hold on!!
It was actually young Cloughie's Richard Burton that got hit for nine at the Etihad. Richard Burton and Liz Taylor sent off in the first minute for fighting. Hit for nine because they were playing with nine
Will Keane was the Tractor Boy scorer
He won the Matt Busby award at OT years ago
Barnsley in the lead vs Bradford City. Fred and Dave not pleased.
Macclesfied two up at Grimsby and Yeovil on top at Jayne Mansfield. Both bad news for Canmbridge
Huddersfield all over Cardiff
Bury tied it up vs the Fake Dons , but now trail the Fakers 1-2 Motley Crewe in the lead vs Newport. The Foxes never were.
Boro take the lead at St Andrews
Palace take the lead vs Watford
Bugger... Shef U take the lead vs QPR
Agreed, Dave . The Tractor Boys desperately need a win
Kate thinks that Brighton has a chance to nicking this one. What do you think?
Palace goal another OG
Newport beat Leicester last week...losing at Crewe this week
Interesting about Will Keane. Other than Rash , who has rally succeeded from the MUFC Academy since SAF retired?
"worse goal ever seen" Palace goal
Not good - come on the Rangers! They've been on a tear recently, including turning us over at their patch. This is not the day for their run to end.
Loads of o.g.s around today, eh?
I think the Seagull's chances are slim at best. Jimmy Case not around to score any long range thunderbolts.
Ipswich are going down, no question. Sad.
