A Late Saturday Start
I dragged myself home after a long, hard week at work dog tired yesterday evening, so I decided to have a lie in instead of waking up at the crack for Spurs v. Huddersfield. So, I'm just settling in to watch, with Spurs already 2-0 up in the first half through goals from Wanyama and Moura.
After this one, we've got the usual rubbish 3pm Saturday kickoffs in the Premiership, leading up to the two big United matches: Man Utd v. West Ham and my beloved Leeds in a Yorkshire Derby against Not a Big Club. Join me whenever you have a chance, lads.

Oh - Llorente, deputizing for the injured Kane, rises to connect on an Ericksen free kick and steers it just wide. Close to a third.
Good morning, Bob. Up for the match that is pretty much done and dusted. Terriers no effort to get back into the match.
Morning, MUR - how was your week, mate?
Spurs go in 2-0 up. Potch will now have some decisions to make about match management, including whether to throw a couple of stars on (.e.g, Son) or whether to rest them for the mid-week CL clash at the Etihad.
We're away again at High Road, then.
Oh - Llorente so close to a third again. Lovely first touch and then a deft volley that struck the bar. Deserved a goal, that.
Agreed. Nice pass from Foyth , but should have scored close in with just the keeper to beat
Doing well. Thank you for asking. Pretty quiet week. Just waiting for the year to end.
How was your week, mate?
The game is being played almost exclusively in the Huddersfield half.
Looks like damage limitation for the Terriers.
Spurs play at the Etihad twice in three days. ON Wednesday and in exactly a week.
Wanyama and Kachunga down off a clash.
It was a tough one, I won't lie, mate. The Dean forced me to take a move that was controversial with a group of students and their parents. So I was dealing with that nonsense for most of the week with lots of angry phone calls and meetings.
But yesterday, I got confirmation of a promotion to chair of the entire College of Education, with a bit more money attached. So that felt good.
Sorry you had those difficult phone calls to make. However, congratulations on the promotion. What an achievement!
Kachunga fouled because he was prevented from going Foyth with that rare Terriers attack.
I can’t recall Huddersfield having a proper attack in this half. It’s like a training session - attack and defence, invasion and repulsion.
Salford City three up vs Maidenhead. Will stay top if the Orient Express lose on the plastic pitch later this morning.
I turned on the match a couple of minutes after the second goal. It has been exactly like a training match.Haven't seen any Terriers attacks either. Might as well. They're already relegated.
Nice run , but the shot from Lucas Mora was straight to Ben Hamer
Cheers, mate!
OH!!!Nice cross , but the header from the Llorente Express went across the box instead of goal.
Hi Boys
I am back from walkies.... glad to get that done early
A little confused with your comment Bob
A tough week that ended with good news?
Just a reminder of the schedule today. At 10 AM it's Burnley vs Cardiff on NBCSN and Saints vs Wolves on CNBC. Our Uniteds are playing in the late matches.
Then THE MASTERS
Sheffield U v Millwall on Plus
I would have show two teams on fire... Villa v Bristol C
Mounie on for Durm as it's a striker for a left back. Why not as the Terriers are two down?
Agreed. That sounds like a better. match. To be honest, I think Sky or BT Sports are to blame as Plus probably airs whatever they're showing.
End to end action there. Huddersfield go close but then Spurs race back up the pitch and Llorente has another decent chance to squander.
Spurs counter off a rare Terriers attack seconds after Grant had a shot blocked, Llorente had a shot deflected for a corner.
Leeds United vs a BIG CLUB will be a tough one.
Wednesday have been doing really well under Brucie
Just crushed Forest 3-0 midweek...all the goals scored in the second half
Lorente needs to shoot the damn ball!
You're a professional...shoot with your left foot
A police presence required in that really evil Championship encounter. Bob would want them all hauled off.
Oh - Davis in at the back post. Will Spurs ever score a third here?
Cissy skipped off the pitch to be replaced by an eighteen year old.
Oh - Mounier has a big chance to get the Terriers back into this one. Blew it wide.
Nice lobbed pass from Hogg and headed wide by Mounie as he got behind the Spurs defense.
I fear for a top four finish for United...we have lost 4 out of 5 in all competitions. I don't know why people think United are still one of the favorites
Before today's match, we will be 6 points Spurs, 5 behind Chelsea and 2 behind Arsenal
Of course, I am hoping for Liverpool and Watford wins and then United would have a game in hand on everyone.... against City tho
Vertonghen booked for a clumsy challenge.
Good morning, UWS. Glad you're here ready for the action. Would love United to Hammers their visitors today
Bacuna skipped to the ground as the Spurs went Foyth and coughed up possession to the Terriers
Nice free kick from Bacuna headed for the Upper 90 , pushed around by Lloris. His first save of the match?
Spurs counter off the corner and Eriksen has a shot deflected on to the post, then his rebound is blocked.
6 comments before I was even noticed by MUR
Still haven't been noticed by BD
UWS will be interested to read that Salford City are three up vs Maidenhead United. Need help from Sutton United
Huddersfield still giving it a go in these latter stages.
Danny Rose on for Vertonghen
Morning, UWS - great to have you on board this morning.
Delle Sandwiched in the stands as if he was knocked out by Frazier.
One striker for another as Number One Son is on for the Llorente Express.
This win will take Spurs back up into third above Chelski temporarily.
Three nil Spurs
GOAL! Moura makes it 3-0!
GOAL !!! THAT'S NO MORA THAN THE SPURS DESERVED AS THE GO THREE UP.
So, after a tough week...you're happy Bob?
Spurs in their new digs
Three games
Three wins
Six goals
Zero goals conceded
Kyle Walker- Peters picked up a loose pass in midfield, played a pass wide right to Eriksen and his pass was easily diverted in by Lucas Mora.
Yeah - doing okay, mate. Just resting up for another busy one next week. I was telling MUR, that I've been promoted to a position of more responsibility, supervising about double the faculty that I had been.
Then off to the Etihad to play Citeh twice in three days.
Three minutes of stoppage time to come now.
AN LOB blogging trio of stoppage time minutes,.
You happy with that?
I picked City to win the CL but I want Spurs to knock them out
I need City to win the League because I don't want Liverpool... the better of two rotten choices
I don't want City to win the Treble or Quad
Pep says it would be a Quintet... the Charity Shield as well
Hat-trick for Moura! 4-0!
Hat-trick for Luca M
GOAL !!!HAT-TRICK FOR LUCAS MORA AS THE SPURS GO FOUR UP.
Nice finish
Harry who?
Nice run and pass from Number One Son and Mora blasted it in the upper 90.
Can you believe there was a substitution after the fourth goal!!!!
PATHETIC!!
I am, yeah. It's a vindication of the work I've done over the past five years. But I'm going to have to work on my stress level.
It's over as the Spurts thrash the Terriers 4-0.
Off to take Sparky walkies.
Those goals help Spurs.... that is an extra point
Congrats mate....you can handle it!
Back from walkies. Ready for the 10 AM matches.
I second that emotion!
Salford defeated Maidenhead 3-0 to go top.'
COME ON SUTTON!
As expected , the Ace of Hearts defeated Nessie in the first of the Scots Cup semis and will face the winner of Celtic vs Aberdeen in the Final on Sunday May 26th.
A key four days for Cardiff as they are at Burnley and the Seagulls.Their fate may be decided by Next weekend.
They're off from St. Mary's
I'm back for the 10 am matches. I'll be watching Burnley v. Cardiff. Here are the teams:
Burnley: Heaton, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Hendrick, Westwood, Cork, McNeil, Barnes, Wood. Subs: Gudmundsson, Brady, Gibson, Hart, Ward, Vydra, Long.
Cardiff: Etheridge, Peltier, Morrison, Ecuele Manga, Bennett, Gunnarsson, Arter, Hoilett, Victor Camarasa, Josh Murphy, Zohore. Subs: Ralls, Reid, Bacuna, Cunningham, Mendez-Laing, Brian Murphy, Niasse.
Referee: Mike Dean.
Mike Dean is fresh from achieving his ton of red cards in midweek. A big milestone for him.
Then 40 seconds later the Dean of officials gets the match underway from, Turf Moor after some confusion.
Off at Bram La
We are all LIONS this morning
GOAL !!!NATHAN REDMOND GIVES THE SAINTS AN EARLY LEAD.
Blades are always kicking off before Leeds until the last match of the season.... will that be an advantage?
Ben Men hits the post for Burnley
This one is not quite a relegation battle, as Burnley are nearly out of trouble on 36 points. They could still lose this one and pick up the four points probably needed for safety later on. Cardiff are desperate for a win but probably won't get it. They're almost down.
Blades shirts are all white at the back....not very Blade-like
Stop faffing about with team colors!
Meanwhile , a close range header from Chris came off the Wood Wok after a free kick from Dwight McNeil was headed on.
Qpr take the lead against red hot Swans
Back to the goal. After some head tennis, Josh Sims was played down the right and Wolves were caught out as his pass was diverted into the roof of the net by Redmond from close range
Come on, the Evil Lions!
Cardiff will be hoping for some help from the Cherries in the South Coast Derby at the AMEX. Saints now up to 36 points.
My plus link is pausing a lot!
Not good news for Cardiff.
Bob an Evil Lions fan. LOL?
Which match are you trying to watch, UWS?
I was liking Wolves but not now since they ruined out FA Cup run and possibly our Top Four aspirations too
Today, I am - most definitely!
Newport County take the lead at Cambridge. Brum take the lead at PR.
Blades vs Lions
Bob better be a Lions fans today!!
Havanmt and Waterlooville take the lead at the Moors. Those of Solihull, not Morocco.
Still very choppy
I lost the link completely at one point
Come on ESPN...get your finger out before the Leeds match
Just lost it again!
QPR two up
Reading take lead v Brentford
Wolves miss a sitter. Dendonker with a free header off a free kick from Moutinho, heads wide.
Ipswich losing at home
They would be down!
Donny Trump on top vs Argyle Sweater.
VERY annoying coverage from Plus... is it me or them?
Oldham in the lead vs Swindon. Were partners ion relegation from the Prem in 1994.
Accrington Stanley in the lead vs Wasall.
Very sad day for Ipswich fans. They'll be relegated unless they win against Brum today - and Norwich are almost certain to be promoted.
Jayne Mansfield on top at Northants
All the Blades fans will be a Wednesday fans this afternoon....isn't that blasphemy?
Coventry in the lead at the SOL. Dave will be pleased, but not Fred.
Rock bottom Bradford in the lead at Bristol Rovers . That's not idle gossip.
Definite blasphemy, but a match between two teams that Evil Blades fans love to hate
Reading two up v Brent
This point has dropped Leeds to third...we need a Millwall win
The Reading Railroad two up vs the Bees
They have to do it tho
Coventry took the lead at SoL but the Black Cats tie it up
Table topping Luton in the lead at Charlton.
Three nil QPR!!
I am rooting for Fleetwood and Coventry today....PLAY UP POMPEY
Promising Wolves attack, but Angus Gunn with a comfortable save from Raul Jimenez.
ESPN not allowing me to watch it!!
Grrr
Now Coventry back in a 1-2 lead. Three goals in half a dozen minutes At the SOL.
Table topping Abe Lincoln in the lead vs Cheltenham
I thought Notts County had turned the corner but I didn't notice that Macclesfield had won midweek
They are now bottom
Abe Lincoln may clinch promotion to L1 today in only their second season back in the Football League
Way to go Coventry!!
NOW COME ON FLEETWOOD
Notts County two points from safety. Will probably go down to the final match of the season. May the 4th be with them!
Jose Mourinho has showed up at Craven Cottage today. Could a move to Fulham for next season in the Championship on the off?
Dwight McNeil high and wide for Burnley
Pompey take the lead vs Rochdale. Congratulations, UWS
Pompey take the lead
Barnsley in the lead vs Fleetwood Mac. Barnsley up to second?
Wolves tie it up
GOAL !!!! WILLY BOLI TIES IT UP FOR WOLVES. NICE HEADER IN THE CORNER OFF A NICE CORNER.
bugger about Barnsley
Coventry now lead 1-3 at the SOL.
Maybe that will wake up Cardiff. They've done nought.
Saints retake the lead
GOAL !!!NATHAN REDMOND AT THE DOUBLE AS THE SAINTS LEAD WOLVES 2-1.
Terrible passing at the back by Wolves..... BLOODY PEP...why didn't they do that against United.... twice
GOAL! It's that man Chris Wood of course scoring for Burnley. Always poignant for a Leeds fan.
1-0 Turf Moor mob.
GOAL !!!! CHRIS WOOD HEADS IN A CORNER TO GIVE BURNLEY THE LEAD WITH A FREE HEADER
I keep missing goals at each stadium
WBA two up
Well worked Saints goal. Lots of short passing then a long ball found Josh Sims, who passed to Shane Long , who put through Redmond to lob it past the on rushing Rui Patricio.
Cherries in the lead at the AMEX. Only hope for Cardiff/
Oh - Westwood streaks through but Etheridge does well to stand up to his effort.
Ashley Westwood through and his close range effort well blocked by Etheridge for a corner.
Still 0-0 at Bramall Lane - I'd take that scoreline.
Teesiders in the lead vs the Tigers and Blackburn in the lead at Forest
Is anyone else watching Blades/Lions
My link is just terrible
Stoke two up vs Rotherham
Not watching that one , but will watch the one from ER.
That goal for the Cherries at the Amex is about the only good news right now for Cardiff.
Dan Gosling with the Cherries goal , not Ryan
Barnsley two up vs Fleetwood Mac while Richard Burton on top at Scunny.
Newport two up at Cambridge while Motley Crewe in the lead vs Notts County, who are looking like a Motley Crew.
Bramall Lane doesn't sound like it's rocking
It sounds very nervy
It's 1-1 between Tranny and the Fake Dons in a promotion six pointer.
Notts losing
Tark booked for pulling down one of the Murphy twins in the D. There was a covering defender. Right call.
Rams in the lead vs Bolton.
Black Cats score to pull it back to 2-3 vs Coventry. What a first half at the SOL!
A pair of stoppage time minutes at St. Mary's and the same at Turf Moor./
Bit of argybargy between Ashley Barnes and Joe Bennett now. As we know, Mike Dean is not a man to be toyed with. Cards all round.
Hand bags between Joe Bennett and Ashley Barnes as there probably would be.Both booked by the Dean of officials.
Harsh on Ashley Barnes, deserved for Bennett.
Burnley one up at the half while Saints lead Wolves 2-1.
Lamps lads two up vs Bolton on the stroke of halftime.
Half time now. Burnley 1-0 up and Cardiff in real trouble with the Saints leading.
Bees pull one back at the Mad Stad, trailing 2-1 while the Baggies are three up vs Evil Ridsdale's lads.
Tom just told me this
You can watch matches from old
https://footballia.net
Donny Trump two up vs Argyle Sweater as are Pompey vs Rochdale.
Looks very interesting
It's 3-3 at SoL
We need a Sutton goal... if so... Salford would be on top with three to play
We're away in the second half at Turf Moor.
Second halves underway from both Turf Moor and St. Mary's
What does Fred make of it all?
Will definitely check it out. Thanks, Tom.
Two penalty claims from Cardiff players - one given!
PENALTY CARDIFF .BEN MEE CALLED FOR HAND BALL. Given after consulting with the linesman. No, not given.
No - it hasn't been given after a long deliberation between Mike Dean and his assistant. Big decision there. Neil Warnock not best pleased.
Warny furious. He has called Prem officials the worst in the world. This won't change his ind.
Neil pops a bit more gum. He'll need it along with some hypertension tablets.
Tom Cairney gives the Cottagers the lead vs the Toffees.
Harry Arter and Lee Peltier booked in the melee after that decision.
Tractor Boys have come from behind to lead Brum 2-1 with two goals in two minutes.
Blackburn two up at Forest
Now saying that it's 1-1 at PR
Just wide by Harry Arter as Cardiff not giving up without a fight
Tractor Boys mathematically alive.
Cherries two up at the AMEX
Blades take the lead vs the Lions. Sorry, Bob.
Forest score vs Blackburn, but trail 1-2
