Down to the Wire
With three matches to play, everything is on the line in today's Championship matches. Norwich are top on 87 points, five points behind both Sheffield United and Leeds, both on 82 points in second and third respectively. All of the sides are away today, with the Blades away to Hull (10th) and Norwich away to Stoke (16th) at 10am EST and then later at 12:15pm my beloved Leeds kick off against Brentford (15th). We'll need a win today and for Hull and Stoke to do the business. Come on, you Leeds boys! MOT!

Good morning. A busy day of football , including a Premier League match
Villa have just taken the lead vs the Evil Lions. Good news for Rotherham , who play Villa's city rivals, Brum, later this morning
Blighty and South Texas have had the same exact weather the past few days , but probably warmer in South Texas
Southend in the lead vs Richard Burton, moving out of the drop zone and replaced by Scunny.
Coventry two points out of a playoff spot, pending the matches later this morning
Pompey win a corner,.
Corner headed out then the offside flag raised.
Pompey free kick near the touchline Jamaal Lowe low balled. Free kick from Ronan Curtis punched away by the Coventry keeper.
Pompey striker, James Vaughan , the youngest person ever to score a Prem goal, when he scored for the Toffees vs Palace in 2005.
Liam Kelly , of Coventry, down for a long time , off a clash of heads with James Vaughan
Way hay! A right old fashioned drop ball. Liam Kelly seems okay
Lee Brown shoots wide from a narrow angle off a cross from Jamaal Lowe.
Coventry keeper, Lee Burge, booked for time wasting. Kind of early for that
Former United striker, Mark Robbins , now Coventry manager and has them in great form
James Vaughan heads well wide off a cross from Jamaal Lowe that had a tad too much pace on it.
Now Lowe with a low cross that's blocked for a corner.
YESSSSSSSSS!!! TOM NAYLOR HEADS IN THE CORNER TO TIE IT UP FOR POMPEY. NICE CORNER FROM LEE BROWN
Congratulations to UWS, and family. Now time for a winner.
PLAY UP POMPEY!
Later this morning, the Black Cats at Posh and Barnsley at Argyle Sweater.
PHEW! Coventry miss a sitter. Luke Thomas put through and shot into the side netting with just McGilly , the Pompey keeper to beat
Ronan Curtis with a pass cleared for a corner.
Mark Robbins with a double substitution for Coventry. Connor Chaplain, who started the season with Pompey, on for Luke Thomas and Jordan Willis for Tom Davies.
James Vaughan wins a tackle and Jamaal Lowe with a shot fumbled around by Lee Burge for a corner
GOAL !!!BRETT PITTMAN GIVES POMPEY A 2-1 LEAD. THE CORNER ELUDED EVERYONE AND RONAN CURTIS KEPT IT ALIVE BY THE OPPOSITE CORNER FLAG. COVENTRY KEEPER, LEE BURGE , AND JAMES VAUGHAN WENT FOR THE CROSS. IT FELL TO PITTMAN WHO SAMSHED IN FROM CLOSE RANGE
Final roll of the dice from Mark Robbins as Wakefield is on for Shipley.
Wakefield with a cross deflected for a Coventry corner.
Great atmosphere at fratton Park.
Morning, MUR - I'm marooned at work again but will be heading home for lunch around noon and will take the afternoon off to watch the match and get some errands done around the house.
Southend two up vs Richard Burton as they attempt to avoid relegation.
Half a dozen stoppage time minutes just to ruin UWS's morning
Good morning, Bob. Will be around for the Leeds. I return to work tomorrow.
A stoppage time substitution just to irk UWS and it's from Pompey. Scoring hero, Brett Pittman, replaced by Tom Walks, who walks on.
Pompey fans will be following Posh vs the Black Cats and Argyle Sweater vs Barnsley with great interest
Richard Burton score at Southend and now trail 2-1.
Looks like three teams will be fighting for the final automatic promotion spot from L1 with the Black Cats hosting Pompey on Saturday
It's over at fratton Park as Pompey hold on to win 2-1. Congrats, UWS and family.
Marvelous!
The Championship fixtures start up at the top of the hour. I'm trying to motor through my work here so that I can follow more closely.
I've got the link up for the Stoke v. Norwich match now. Norwich have had a bit of the end of season jitters, drawing their last three matches. If they were to drop points again today at the Brit, it might throw the whole title race back open again.
The coverage has started from the Brit. Wahay!
Kick off time - come on you Potters and Tigers!
The earlier Aston Villa win against Millwall has solidified the Villans position in 5th and has moved them within a point of WBA.
Norwich will be promoted if they win here and either Sheffield United or we drop points.
I'm frankly surprised that the Potters haven't done better this season. A lot of players with Premiership experience in their side, obviously. Nothing but mid-table all season.
Birmingham have started very strongly at Rotherham, who are desperate for a win at the bottom of the Championship. Rodak has made a smart save down to his right after a quick free kick by Maghoma.
Hull’s home form is excellent of late: they haven’t lost at the KC since November. Let's hope that streak continues. Come on!
Ten minutes in now and no scores anywhere. That suits me to a tee.
Bugger! The Blades have gone 0-1 up at the KC through Barry McGoldrick. Grrrr!
Oh - Sam Clucas was in there and should have been able to steer his header on target.
This is certainly the most difficult match left for Sheffield United. Can't really expect Ipswich to get anything from them at the weekend. Come on, you Tigers!
The pest from Friday Leon Clarke has fired Wigan into the lead over PNE.
Fifteen minutes in and still no goals at the Brit. Suits me.
So, as it stands, Norwich are on 88 points, three ahead of Sheffield United on 85. We're three points behind in third on 82. The Blades now have a 7 seven goal advantage over us in GD. So, we need for them to drop points today.
Nice tribute to a Stoke City supporter who died after an attack the other day at the age of 18. Sad.
Oh - Pukki was in there but his stooping header was denied by Butland! Phew!
Twenty minutes in now and still goalless at the Brit. Lovely.
Oh - nasty one there by Joe Allen, snapping into McLean. Should be a yellow card.
Bloody hell - The Blades are 0-2 up now at the KC. McGoldrick again the goalscorer.
And now Barry Bloody Bannan has scored for Not a Big Club just to add insult to injury for today.
Balls! That's torn it - Hernandez has scored for the Canaries now.
Norwich are hunting for a second now - Stoke really on the rack.
Not enjoying this one bit.
Rotherham have gone 1-0 up against Brum, desperately trying to avoid the drop.
Pukki bursts through again and earns a corner.
Stoke have got a corner now - come on!
Rubbish short corner routine. If UWS were watching, he would have thrown his shoe at the screen.
Coming up on the last five minutes of the first half - nothing is going right for us yet.
Bloody hell - The Blades have gone 0-3 up. The Tigers are throwing in the towel.
Good morning, Bob. Back from walkies and picking up Elizabeth from a doctor's appointment
Forest have dented Boro's playoff hopes with a goal at the City Ground.
Morning, MUR - how are you, mate!
Just saw that. A must win at the Bee Hive.
Barnsley three up at Argyle.
Absolutely - we're staring down the barrel of the playoffs now.
Doing well, thanks you for asking. How about you?
On the other match on plus, Oldham on top vs third placed Jayne Mansfield in L2.
No chance of closing the GD gap either. We'll need to have help from ether Ipswich on Saturday or Stoke on the last Sunday of the season to have any hope now.
Forest green on top vs Cambridge, while the bottom three all tied up in the battle to avoid the drop.
Half time whistle goes. Hernandez' goal has Norwich in the driving seat, while Sheffield United are cruising it.
Bugger! Fylde on top at Salford while in 1st vs third , it's 0-0 between the Orient Express and the Solihull Moors.
Rotherham on top vs Brum , but still in the final drop, behind the Evil Lions on goal difference. Rotherham need a dozen more goals to move out of the drop zone.
BLOODY HELL! No Sky Sports News on NBCSN. A bloody motorcycle auction instead.
The teams are back out now for the second half. So far, it's been a rubbish day. I suppose that Stoke could turn things around and Hull might score four in the second half. Stranger things have happened?
Oldham vs Jayne also on Plus. Thought you would be watching that
Bright start for Stoke but Afobe slipped just when he was lining up a shot.
But now they have struck! Ashley Williams with a great header!
1-1!
Brucie's lads two up vs Bristol City. that's not idle gossip.
Port Vale takes a real lead at the Fake Dons.Bury up to third and the Fake Dons fourth and in a playoff spot, behind Bury on goal difference by +2
WAY HAY! . gREAT NEWS FROM THE bRIT!
Go on, you Potters! Let's have another!
As things stand, Abe Lincoln would clinch the L2 title today on only their second season back in the Football League
Not watching Oldham vs Jayne Mansfield?
Vrancic, the hero from Good Friday, has come on.
Tom Trybull puts forth a lot of effort and is stubborn if you go by the name. Replaced by Bosnian, Mario Vrancic
BLOODY HELL! The Canaries have scored thirty goals in the last fifteen minutes of matches this season. No wonder why they're top.
Fake Dons tie it up vs Port Vale and replace Bury in third place and the final automatic promotion spot.
Yeovil takes a shock lead vs Colchester and are out of the drop zone o goal difference ahead of Sol's lads by a difference of +3
Oldham went two up vs Jayne , but Jayne pulled one back and is trailing 2-1 at Oldham. Desmond may want to join the fun and be part of the action.
Brum tie it up at Rotherham, who now trail the Evil Lions by two points.
That's the danger - they are stoppage time masters, just like the Fergie sides of yore. I'd love to see another Potters goal while they're buzzing.
Wrexham being held 1-1 at Halifax. That result would basically resign them to the playoffs.
Oh - Clucas blazed one over the top when he seemed sure to score.
Sam Clucas misses a sitter for Stoke as his shot lands in Row H from close range after pin pong in the Canaries box.
Forest have stuck another one in against Boro, who are just barely hanging on to their playoff spot now. Bristol City have a match in hand - no gossip.
Swans take the lead at Pr ,which is basically academic at this point.
Bugger! Pukki has nodded Norwich back into the lead.
BUGGER ! PUKKI HEADS THE CANARIES INTO A 1-2 LEAD.
Tom Ince on for Stoke now - come on, you Potters. Get it back!
Horrible defending with a close range free header off a cross from Vrancic ,. who recently came on as a sub. Sorry, Bob
This is a crackling match now.
Brum now lead 1-2 at Rotherham, who now trail the Evil Lions by three points and have a far inferior goal difference. Rotherham in trouble,
YES! Tom Edwards has put Stoke back on level terms!
Desmond!
YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! TOM EDWARDS SCORES FOR THE POTTERS TO MAKE IT DESMOND
Basically, Hernadez , the scorer of the first Canaries goal, gifted possession to Edwards and he scored with a great finish from just outside the box. A great time to score his first for the Potters
I'm heading home now, mate, so that I can watch my boys at home. Hoping that Stoke can strike again.
Charlton four up vs Scunny, who seem rooted to final relegation spot, a point behind Argyle
Bury now up to second as they take a 2-1 lead vs Northants. Abe Lincoln 0-0 vs Tranny and set to clinch the L2 title.Newly promoted Tranny in fifth and will clinch a playoff spot today
Forest green went two up vs Cambridge, who now pull it back to 2-1.
Oldham was leading Jayne 2-1, but Oldham went 3-1 ahead. Now 3-2.
Jayne in third ,ahead of the Fake Dons on goal difference.
Colchester tiw it up Yeovil and now Yeovil back in the drop zone with Sol's lads two pints clear. That would make Cambridge mathematically safe today. Colchester two points outside the final playoff spot.
In L2 , the bottom three all tied up. Only two points separating third from bottom from bottom.
Cheers, mate. Will give you support for the Leeds match
Forest three up vs the Teesiders, who are still in a final playoff spot.
PHEW! Jamaal Lewis inches wide for the Canaries.
The announcer is kind enough to remind us that the Canaries have scored eight stoppage time goals this season> I think Bob will agree that eight is enough
I'm home now and girding my loins for this stoppage time period. Five minutes to come. Hang in there, you Potters!
A quintet of stoppage time minutes , which is not music to Bob's ears
Jamaal Lewis wins a Canaries corner
Welcome home, mate
Another corner now for the Canaries - come on!
Fortunately, Butland hangs on.
PHEW! Butland saves a close range header from Ben Godfrey
The Blades have finished their 0-3 win over Hull. Grrr!
The Evil Blades carved apart the Tigers at the KC, winning 0-3 , with all the goals scored n the first half
Brum now lead 1-3 at Rotherham , who are in trouble.
Barnsley have won 0-3 at Argyle.
A cheap free kick earned there in a dangerous position. Vrancic scored a late one on Friday. He's lining this one up again.
Max Power gave the Black Cats an 87th minute lead at Posh, but the home team tied it up in the 90th minute
Another Norwich corner now. Hang on, Potters!
Wahay! Norwich have dropped two more points, their fourth draw in a row.
It's over at the Brit and finishes Desmond. The Canaries will not clinch anything today
Halifax defeat Wrexham 2-1 with a late winner. Wrexham resigned to the playoffs.
Fylde win 0-1 at Salford while it finished 0-0 between first placed Orient Express and third placed Solihull Moors.
Orient need a draw Saturday to clinch promotion back to the Football League
Rams take a late lead with a spot kick vs QPR, but two points out of the playoffs.
Off for a shower ahead of the big match
MOT!
I am home
Best of luck mate!

Sitting on my deck on a sunny day with the footer on the computer
Back from a refreshing shower as the team are out on the pitch at Peter Griffin Park
Leeds just need to win
Things will work out
Please make this weekend not a complete bust for both Uniteds
Leeds haven't won at Sincel Bank since 1950!
YIKES! Leeds last won at Peter Griffin Park in 1950. That streak will need to end and now!
Warm and Breezy here. Sun in and out
Bob will want Leeds to make the team from Griffin Park look like Kathy
Leeds in yellow shirts and white shorts.
They're off from Kathy Griffin Park
Welcome back, UWS. Glad you are enjoying great weather.
Hiya, UWS!
Partly sunny West London looks a lot like South Texas, but probably not as warm
We must win, we must win, we must win!
Still can't believe Leeds result vs Wigan and United vs Everton!
Wigan were in danger of the drop but 6 points in 2 games and they are safe
Oh - Patrick should have buried that chance!
Bury that Bamford
OH!!! Inches wide by Bamford off an Ayling pass.
The ground looks like a non-league one.
MOT! MORE OF THAT, LEEDS!
You'd have had that chance for lunch, eh UWS?
Agreed. I thought it was larger.
The Blades will beat Ipswich but struggle against at Stoke
Norwich should beat Blackburn at home but will struggle @ Villa
Leeds win here, and at home to Villa and at Portman...could still be Champs!
Adam Forshaw , of Leeds, is an Ex Bee.
Oh - Tyler was nearly in there but Daniels smothered.
Bamford blows it again... useless first touch!
Luke Daniels does well to rush out and gather off a through ball in tended for Tyler Roberts
And that one for dinner
Agreed, Bob, but you are now making Dave hungry for lunch
Leeds just need to win this one by TEN...that would be perfect
Bright opening for us.
I'd luv it!
The match at Villa on Sunday is a dreaded noon kickoff. I will probably sleep in the first half of that one due to the unusually early kickoff.
This commentator is getting on my tits already - putting the mockers on us.
I don't blame you, mate. I'll need to head to bed early on Saturday night.
That's a piece of cake for Leeds.
Total dominance from the off here.
Leeds haven't lost back to back games since New Years Day
The Two Daves disappointed at the Salford result today. Orient need a draw in the final match of the season on Saturday to clinch promotion to the Football League after a two year absence.
I'm hoping that the Potters can do us another favor on the last day of the season.
Agreed. A must win for Leeds.
Stu Dallas is warming up already. Liam Cooper seems to have a problem.
Bob basically stating that the announcer at Griffin Park acting more like Kathy instead of Merv. Is that correct, mate?
Alioski is going to have to come off
Now Ali is down as well. Stretched awkwardly.
BUGGER! Ali down as if knocked out by Frazier
Stu Dallas is going to come on - but who will he replace?
Dallas looks like the replacement. He's another former Bee.
If everything comes down to the last day, Leeds will definitely have the upper hand
It's Alioski off. That will require a slight reshuffle.
That change is now made.
Let's hope so, mate.
Phew - that looked dangerous!
Liam Cooper doesn't look fully fit to me.
