FA Cup 3rd Round Sunday!
A very good Sunday morning to all of you! I couldn't be happier to be settling in for some FA Cup 3rd Round action. It was regrettable that I had to miss out yesterday due to my drive home from the holidays, as I love the 3rd Round weekend. No matter - I'm here to enjoy Chelski v. Forest and then the Merseyside Derby.

Chelski get us underway at Stamford Bridge. Frank has made 9 changes, while Forest have made 10 changes from the last league match. Not a lot of respect for the Cup these days.
Chelski are wearing an old school kit today to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their 1970 win over Leeds.
GOAL! Hudson-Odoi fires Chelski into the lead. Too easy.
Poor defending from the makeshift Forest backfour. Didn't close Hudson-Odoi down quickly enough and the keeper will regret being beaten at the near post.
Good morning, Bob. Here to join you. I regret having to miss as well. Will join you for Chelsea vs Forest
Next year the Gunners can wear their double winning kit and in two years Leeds can wear their 50th anniversary kit.
Despite the Chelsea changes it looks like they have a decent side
Many of the 1970 winning squad are in attendance today. Nice touch. Of course, I would have preferred that we won that final but I'm not churlish about it.
Morning, MUR! Welcome!
Temouri with a header that lands in Row H off the corner from Emmerson
Cheers, Bob. Glad you are back at the Cottage and great chatting with you
Just saw the replay of the goal . N ice pass and great skill by Hudson-Odoi, but I see what you mean by the poor defending and the poor keeping
In two years Leeds will get to put on their 50th anniversary kit. You will enjoy that
Great skill by Hudson-Odoi as he wins yet another Chelsea corner
This is almost like a training session despite it being only 1-0
Forest win their first corner of the match
Corner from Carvalho easily caught by Willy Cabs and Chelsea break, but the shot from Pedro blocked by Bat Boy , who was flagged offside
I will enjoy that. I wear a replica of that shirt in the winter for luck.
Bristol Rovers have taken the lead over Coventry.
Northampton are 0-1 up away to Burton
Barnsley are 0-1 up at Crewe
The Evil Blades are 1-0 up over AFC Fylde
Yikes! former Forest great , Garry Birtles mentioned that the ten Forest players dropped weren't even named in the squad. It's a bare bones squad
A shocker at Bramall Lane, Fylde with drama?
Penalty to Forest!
PENALTY TO FOREST ! TEMOURI CALLED FOR A TRIP ON 17 YEAR OLD ADOMAH OFF A NICE THROUGH BALL FROM CARVALHO. VAR CHECKING
Adomah's arm was offside, so it may be called back
VAR checking to see if the Forest man was offside. He was chopped down by Tomori in the ned.
Offside called in the end - no penalty.
This is taking bloody forever. I was right . It was called back for offside. Harsh on Forest
Northants two up at Richard Burton while QPR has taken the lead vs the Swans
Barkley tries a carbon copy of the Hudson-Odoi effort. This time Smith has it covered.
Decent near post save by Jordan Smith from Barkley
Oh - the Batboy should have scored the second there. Stuck it over the top.
Great cross from Reese James , but a free header from Bat Boy is well over
QPR goes two up vs the Swans
Coventry ties it up at Bristol Rovers . That's not idle gossip.
GOAL! Ross Barkley taps home after another Hudson-Odoi shot is tipped away by Smith.
VAR check for offside shows it's a good goal.
Chelski 2-0 up!
GOAL !!! HUDSON-ODOI CUTS INSIDE RIBEIRO . JORDAN SMITH SAVES HIS SHOT AND BARKLEY PUTS AWAY THE REBOUND TO PUT CHELSEA TWO UP
The Baggies take the lead at Banjo Boy's lads while Bristol Rovers takes a 2-1 lead vs Coventry, which is not idle gossip
The Rams take the lead at Selhurst Park
Chelski in total control here.
Agreed. The score does not flatter them in the least
Jenkinson playing right back for Forest. Gunners fans will be all too familiar with him
The only match that remains scoreless is the one at the Riverside, where Boro and Spurs are deadlocked.
Wonder if Jose put out a reserve side. Woodie will be pleased
Mighten has been the bright light for Forest today. He did brilliantly to get to the by-line and pull a great ball back across the area but no one was following in.
There should be several minutes of stoppage time due to the VAR check and this stoppage for an injury
He's been impressive considering he's playing up front for Forest with no support at all.
A trio of stoppage time minutes at SB
OH!!! Cross from Reese James headed wide by Bat Boy. He should have put Chelsea three up
Oh - Batboy with another big miss. Reece James has teed him up twice now and he's spurned both chances.
Northants all over Richard Burton going three up at his house
QPR goes three up vs the Swans
I'm off to fix my brekkies at half time.
Chelsea well in control two up at the half vs Forest
Enjoy the brekkies, mate! you should be refueled for the second half.
Richard Burton pulls one back, now trailing Northants 1-3
Great highlights from the Watford v. Tranmere 3-3 thriller yesterday.
Th start of the second half has been delayed five minutes due to an injury to one of the linesmen
Benalouane, the former Foxes center half, on for Tobias Figueredo, in a like for like swap as the second half is underway
That sounds like a match worth watching. Nigel Pearson was probably livid
Ribero tackles Hudson-Odoi for a corner
We're back on for the second half at the Bridge after an extended half time due to an injured official.
A giant killing in the making as the Teesiders take the lead vs the Spuds
Tommy Lee ties it up for Motley Crewe vs Barnsley
Welcome back, Bob. How was brekkies?
Garry Birtles mentioned the three goal lead blown that Bob mentioned fifteen minutes earlier. Not nice to ignore Bob's updates
Just read on the BBC site that United offering 45 mil plus Lindy for the Fourth president to transfer to OT
Coventry ties it up at Bristol Rovers . Now Desmond.
LOL! Gooner will be enjoying that scoreline at the Riverside.
After this match, it's the Mersey Derby kicking off at 11 then The Gils vs the Hammers kicking off at 1:15 PM
That's quite a deal for Leicester!
Agreed. Snickering in the Streets of Alex
I may give the late one a miss in order to do my usual Sunday errands. I'll definitely be around for the Merseyside affair, though.
Hopefully , for United too, if it goes through. Lindy has been pants!
The swans score at Loftus Road, but trail QPR 3-1
Agreed, mate. Not too much daylight remaining after the late match
Oh - off the post! from Barkley!
OH! A header from Barkley off the Sunday roast on a Sun day off a great shot as the offside flag was raised. Jordan Smith may have got his finger tips to that
The Gooner will not be pleased that the Spuds have tied it up at the Riverside
Any trash talking between you and Steve ahead of the big match tomorrow?
Pedro fouls Johnson on a rare counter and gets away without a booking
Jorginho fouls Mentin just outside the Chelsea box
Forest have a free kick chance now to get back into this one.
The Evil Blades go two up vs Fylde as Bob is Fylde with disappointment
Johnson with a terrible effort there. Oh dear.
It's a wretched free kick into the wall.
Now Reese James with a foul Just outside the Chelsea box
I am Fylde with disappointment over that scoreline.
Reese James booked for that
Nice reply, mate!
Forest with another free kick chance now.
Forest have the ball in the net but it's been disallowed for offside.
There will be another VAR check.
Ryan Yates heads in the free kick for Forest, but it's disallowed for offside. Nice free kick from Carvalho.
Var definitely checking
The decision stands. The goal is disallowed
Looks like Ryan Yeats was standing in an offside position when the free kick was struck. Offside it is. Forest are still down in the dumps.
Northants takes A 1-4 lead at Richard Burton
Like for like as Kovacic is Mounted off the pitch
Another glaring miss by Bat Boy as he volleys well over , unmarked in the six yard box
Chelsea won this fixture 2-0 last season and lead by the same today
If the score remains the same at Bramall Lane then the Cup will be Fylde with all league teams
Ryan Yates down as he Mounted a slide tackle.
Mason Mount booed by Forest fans for his season loan at rivals, the Rams
Temouri and Lamps should be getting the same treatment from Forest fans
Michael Dawson clears a mounted pass for a Chelsea corner
Barnsley takes an expected 1-2 lead at Motley Crewe. They may meet in L1 next season
Young Tariq Lamptey on for Pedro, who looks really disappointed at being replaced
Garry Birtles says he's the 7th Academy grad to be played in the first team by Lamps
QPR takes a 4-1 lead vs the Swans
Chelski should have had this one home and hosed but they're still laboring to finish it off while Forest still pose a threat.
Ryan Yates booked for a foul. Not a good last few minutes for him after getting injured in a challenge and having a goal disallowed
Bob may be interested to note that Zlatan just joined Milan. That's a surprise at his age
Hey Boys,
I probably won't be around today
We hare having our Christmas Day today on Sandalwood Lane
Bob will be Fylde with hope as the National League Side pulls it back to 2-1 at Bramall Lane.
Hello, UWS! Sorry you won't be around, but wishing you a great Christmas Celebration
Morning, UWS - how are you?
I'm doing well except I have to go back to work tomorrow !
Sorry, UWS , but you only have about a half a year remaining. You're almost there, mate!
Sorry, mate - me too.
Great picture posted by UWS of no fans showing up for the Cup ties at the Evil Den
QPR now takes a 5-1 lead vs the Swans
MUR has a little smile on his face with our work duties
Sorry, Bob. Hope you have had a great vacation
It's just a tiny grin.
Richard Burton pulls it back to 2-4 vs Northants
Will anyone be around for the match tomorrow?
Boro players and fans will be thrilled to be able to visit the new stadium
I am off boys
Have a good week
An LOB blogging trio of stoppage time minutes
Cheers, Dave! Have a good week.
It's over at the Riverside and Spurs held 1-1 by the Teesiders. A replay for Little Joe
QPR 5 Swans 1
Desmond between Bristol Rovers and Coventry. Both are final scores
The Baggies win 0-1 at Banjo Boy's lads and Northants wins 2-4 at Richard Burton
It's over at SB and Chelsea defeat a Forest reserve side 2-0
Oh - Hudson-Odoi nearly beats Smith again. Tipped around.
And that's the final whistle. Chelski run out easy winners 2-0. But Forest might have got back into it but for the VAR decisions.
Barnsley takes a 1-3 lead at Motley Crewe. That's a final score
The Rams win 0-1 at Selhurst Park
Now getting ready to watch the Mersey Derby on a busy morning
The Evil Blades have held on to defeat Fylde 2-1
Next up is the Merseyside Derby. Here's the team news:
Liverpool: Adrian; Milner, Gomez, Phillips, Williams; Lallana, Chirivella, Jones, Elliott; Minamino, Origi.
Subs: Kelleher, Mane, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Brewster, Hoever, Larouci.
Everton: Pickford; Mina, Holgate, Coleman, Digne; Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin, Sidibe, Walcott; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.
Subs: Stekelenberg, Baines, Keane, Delph, Bernard, Davies, Kean.
Everton appear to have put out a full strength side, while Klopp has gone with a lot of changes.
Back from the loo as the Mersey Derby is underway
Agreed. only four starters for Pool and definitely a full strength lineup for the Toffees.
There was much talk pre-match of Everton playing a back three, with Coleman as the right-sided centre-back. However, they’ve started with a four.
Just a reminder that the Manc Derby is on Tuesday afternoon.
Looks like it will be a decent contest despite lots of changes from, Klopp.
Nice close range block by Adrian from Calvert- Lewin the a shot from Sidibe is blocked
Good luck tomorrow Bob in the Dahlgren Derby
Now Liverpool win the ball with a bit of intense pressing, but when it’s crossed from the right it bounces under Origi’s boot and out of play on the other flank.
Then a shot from Origi is dined out for a Pool corner
I appreciate it, mate - I don't expect much.
Bob will be disappointed to see the one LUFC Academy rep down injured
I second that. , but will be happy for either Steve Bob depending upon the result
That's it for Milner as he limps off injured and he's replaced by young Lassir Yarouchi
Yep - Jamie Milner has been hobbled and is trudging off. Larouci comes on for him.
Martin Tyler jokingly mentions that Lallana must feel like an OAP. He is compared to his teammates playing today
Wonder if this is a first team debut for Larouchi. He looks like he's around 16 or 17 years of age
Toffees win a free kick off a challenge from young Phillips
A very young starting side for Liverpool with only Adrian, Gomez, Lallana and Milner recognizable names.
Free kick dined from Siggy and a free header for Mason Holgate straight to Adrian as he pushes it away
Now Pool win a corner
The latest cup update is that the competition is no longer Fylde with any non league sides.
Rich Arlison now feeling his hammy. Not a good sign for Ancelotti.
Elliott wins a corner for Liverpool.
Sixteen year old Harvey Elliott wins a Pool corner. He will take the corner that is headed away
Are there any of these LFC kids who you can imagine breaking into the first team?
Rich Arlison with a tackle for a pool corner as Pool's new Japanese signing from Salzburg puts on the pressure. The corner out for another as Wales u 19 international , Neco Williams had a shot blocked by Rich Arlison
Ancelotti looking very sharp on the touchline.
They're good enough, but the problem is that with the exception of Milner, the starters have a fair number of years ahead of them
Adrian blocks a close range effort from Rich Arlison off a run and pass from Theo
Everton really threatening now - good save from Adrian with his legs.
Agreed, Bob. Ancelotti has always been known for his stylish fashion.
Nice cross from Theo on a Toffees break and Calvert-Lewin failed to make the proper contact on a diving header
Oh - great Theo cross and Calvert Lewin nearly got onto it. Would've made a pretty goal.
Cross from Origi headed just wide by Miameno. Her looks a useful signing and will add depth to the Pool squad
Oh - great cross over from Origi and Minnie Mouse nearly on to it.
Nearly an OG by Lallana as he heads out for a Toffees corner
The corner dined out by young Phillips for another corner
Corner from Siggy missed by Adrian and Jerry Minor is not able to take advantage of that
Calvert-Lewin drags a long range effort wide
LOL, Bob. Wonder why Klopp didn't sign Mickey Mouse
Oh - Pickers has to tip around a great shot by Origi.
OH! Pickford does well to turn around a shot from Origi off a pass from Harvey Elliott.
Would you pick Pickers?
Minameno wins a Pool corner
Corner from Chivarella off Coleman mustard for another corner
Minammeno showing he's definitely not a minnow
An LOB blogging duet of stoppage time minutes
Half time - It's been a lively first half but the teams troop in deadlocked at 0-0. Everton surely have a chance to notch a famous Cup victory against their neighbors today.
A free header for Rich Arlison headed wide off a great cross from Sidibe
It's 0-0 at the half. Despite the score it's been an entertaining half
The players are back out, and Richarlison is ready to kick off. Second half underway.
Everton have the first shot of the second half, Sidibe chesting down to Schneiderlin, who curls his shot over the bar from just outside the area.
Williams, probably Liverpool’s outstanding player so far along with Lallana, drives a 30-yard shot goalwards, but it’s a straightforward save for Pickford.
If Everton don’t win this they should just give up on away derbies altogether. They'll never have a better chance than they do today.
Back for the second half and still 0-0
Everton win a corner now, which Sigurdsson curls towards the near post. Mina meets it, and I think it was a decent chance if he’d only hit it with his head. Instead he misses it completely and it bounces off his back and away.
A Toffees player is booked for illegally dining in on young Harvey Elliott
The free kick was headed out by Jerry Minor for a Pool corner
Not sure if either manager wants a replay
Welcome back, mate - Liverpool really making a meal of this one. The last thing they need is unnecessary fixtures at this juncture of the season.
Cheers, Bob. Glad to be back
