Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The Wolves v. Spurs match is the featured match on NBC Sports, while United v. Everton is relegated tot eh Gold. Sorry, boys.
Good Morning, Bob. Thanks for getting us started.Partly sunny and breezy, but mild this morning. Similar temperature to Florida this morning
We're set to go here at Molineux. And away we go!
Cheers, Bob. I think Wolves vs Spurs is the big match today, not the late one.United , Wolves, or Spurs will probably end the day in 5th
They're off from OT and Molineaux. LIndy should have given United the lead . A karate chopped run down the left and a pass broke to Fred. He was tackled by Ben Davies and it broke to Lindy, who shot wide from three yards out
Then De Gea forced to tip over a shot from MAson Holgate from 25 yards out
Morning, MUR! I could use some Harlingen heat up here in WNY - it's bitter cold. We drove through a blizzard to Buffalo to do our last Christmas shopping yesterday.
Rich Arlison with a pass karate chopped out for another Toffees corner
Bernard more like a St. Bernard with a wild effort high and wide
That's true, mate - it's a sad comment on the current status of United and Everton.
Stay warm and safe, mate. Sending you some warm air
Early free kick chance for Wolves - Joao Moutinho over it.
Out for a corner.
The Evil Blades started the match in 5th with United 6th, Wolves 7th, and the Spuds 8th. Any one of that BArber Shop Quartet will be singing to the tune of 5th place at the end of the day
Cheers, mate - we could use it. As long as it isn't snowing like crazy next Saturday when we make our annual pilgrimage down to Virginia, I'll be content.
A clash of ball winners and it looked a decent tackle by Tom Davies on McTomain, but the ref begs to differ and books him , accusing Tommy of McTomain poisoning.
Next Saturday Leeds visit the Cottage. How will that work out if you and Kate are on the road?
Rui Patricio pushes away a near post effort from Number One SOn
Oh - Spurs break and Son has a chance to shoot on goal.
GOAL! Lucas Moura roofs one!
Then GOAL !!!LUCAS MOURA GIVES THE SPUDS THE LEAD
Wolves might feel a bit hard done by, as they'd made the brighter start, but Spurs have taken their chance and lead here at Molineux.
After that save the ball broke to Lucas Moura , who went on a solo run and scored with a rocket of a shot that went in the roof of the net
Rash with a shot that went wide of the near post. Then Daniel James got behind Digne and shot wide from a narrow angle. Digne mezmorized by the through ball due to a bout of McToamin poisoning
Now it's Dele ali bursting into the box. Spurs looks full of attacking danger.
Digne with McTomain poisoning due to eating expired escargots. He should know better.
With that goal at Molineaux, Spurs 5th, United 6th, Evil Blades 7th, and Wolves 8th
Gazza with a comfortable save from Adama Traore
Rangers won 0-2 at Mothewrwell and are top of the SPL, a point ahead of Celtic. That may change as Celtic vs Hibs kicks off at 10 AM
Sounds as if United are dominating affairs at OT.
Oh - Jimenez with a stooping header across the face of goal but wide.
Agreed with Jim Beglin that Rich Arlison one of the most theatrical players in Premier League History. I think he goes down every time the opposition attacks so they will kick it out of play. It won't work because every team is on to that
United were early doors. Not much happening since then
A karate chopped tackle by Iwobi gives United a corner. Calvert-Lewin heads away the corner
Digne off injured and like for like as he's replaced by Old man , Leighton Baines
Oh - great team move ending with a shot just wide by Raul.
Nasty foul by the already booked Tom Davies on MCTomain. Isn't Tomm yon antibiotics for eating eexpired cod?
Powerful curled free kick from Rash straight to Picks , but clawed away due to the power behind the shot
LOL! Nice one, mate!
Shouldn't Tommy's mum insure that he doesn't get McTomain poisoning? Mrs. Davies , wake up!
Cheers, mate. I try
Coleman didn't cut the mustard as he was caught offside.
In terms of the PPP, Number One Son , second in assists , just one behind KDB. I don't think anyone picked him to lead that category
Rich Arlison wins a corner off of McTomain.
She should indeed.
Does Mrs. Arlison ensure that Rich is healthy.
James and RAsh the fastest players today and there Shaw is another speed merchant in third place. That graphic based on each player's top speed during the match.
Harry Kane is aggrieved now after having been upended.
Lindelof heads out a cross from Iwobi for a Toffees corner
BUGGER! THE TOFFEES TAKE THE LEAD OFF THE CORNER
De Gea completely misjudged the corner and it went in off of Lidelof at the far post for an embarrassing OG
Sorry, mate - United have plenty of time to get it back.
To answer your question, Rich Arlison is on a seafood diet. I think took the corner that went in off of Lindelof and it's a perfect diet for the all the diving he does. Even Greg Louganis would be impressed.
Cheers, mate. We need to play like we did the first few minutes
Mrs. Arlison wouldn't be pleased with that. She'll give him a ticking off later.
United down to 7th and the Evil Blades up to 6th. The Toffees up to 13th place. Nose bleed territory for Big Dunc's lads
Big Dunc with just a short and tie. No sports coat. Is it that warm in Manchester today?
Shame. The Evil Blades should be in 20th.
Agreed, mate. Other teams need to start trying harder against them and stop taking them for granted., It can be done
An LOB blogging duet of stoppage time minutes at OT
Jose's Spuds one up at the half at Molineaux
Some French toast has arrived at my chair for half-time.
The Toffees one up at the half
Back for the second half now. Hoping that United can get back into this one pronto.
The second half is underway from Molineaux
The second half is underway from OT
COME ON MAN UNITED! COME BACK!
Great brekkies from Kate. She must have been thinking of French Toast. Is she thinking that the stadium is called Molineaux because Wolves are made to look like French Toast?
In both matches , the away team will be sitting on their 0-1 leads.
The rain is really teeming down now in the Midlands.
High and wide by Fred after a karate chopped cross was headed out by Tom Davies
It must be tropical weather in Manchester. Big Dunc still in just a shirt and tie
Harry Kane takes another tumble. The referee is still unimpressed.
Big Dunc is a stylish fellow.
Old Man Baines called for an illegal karate chop near his own corner flag
The free kick from Fred is curled in and just over Maguire at the far post
Big Dunc dressed as if it's 70 degrees . I don't think it's that warm in Manchester today
I reckon that Wolves will still get back into this one. It could easily swing either way.
The offside flag raised due to an illegal karate chopped position by two floor mats
Will Wolves make French Toast out of Little Joe's lads? What do the brekkies speaketh?
Wolves have only lost twice the entire season.
I think I tasted just a touch of a Jimenez brace.
Delle Allli sandwiches a curler just wide off a run and pass from Lucas Moura on A spuds break
Rich Arlison with his requisite stupidity . Ran the ball out of play then booked for losing his temper and kicking the ball into Row T just because he ran it out of play
Based on that latest tantrum, Rich Arlison's parents must have him on a diet of sour grapes. Does Kate concur?
A Raul Jimenez brace: Is that the French Toast or Huevos Rancheros talking?
Dendoncker sandwiches down Delle. Will Alli deliver the knockout punch from the free kick?
Two United shots well blocked.
That Shaw was a great save from Pickford. The Pick of the saves this match
Davinson Sanchez booked for a foul from, behind despite a Dier of an protest
Perhaps we'll have a Dele Alli Sandwich for lunch?
Number One Son more like Number Three because the free kick was that awful
Or Jimenez Rancheros?
Will you be hungry like the Wolves or will it be a Delle Sandwich with Spuds?
What did Kate think about the sour grapes diet?
Nice United change as Mason Greenwood on. Not sure who came off.
GOAL! I had a feeling that was coming! Traore slams home the equalizer after a great ball from Raul.
1-1!
GOAL !!! WOLVES TIE IT UP THE BALL WAS WON IN MIDFIELD. DIOGO JOTA PLAYED A ONE TWO WITH JIMENEZ THEN PASSED TO ADAMA TRAORE WHO SCORED WITH A WELL PLACED SHOT FROM 25 YARDS OUT
You were correct , Bob. Your sniffer sure sensed that equalizer.
All level at Molineaux between the teams managed by the Portugese Men of War
Daniel James straight at Pickford, who picked it put of thin air
OH! United nearly tied it up. A corner was headed out an Lindelof shot inches over from just outside the box
An extra striker for the Toffees as Moise Kean barks his way on to the pitch , replacing the wee St. Bernard
The Boy Greenwood wins a corner off of Old MAn Baines
That Shaw was a great tackle on Moise Kean off the United corner
About fifteen minutes for either side to find a winner now.
The announcer said that United need impetus in front of goal when they have been impotent in that department. I guess that's away of putting it
A less than Pre Saiss decision as a Wolves player is booked for intentional hand ball.
The force was with Obi Wan, not Rich Arlison as that was a great slide tackle.
That was a really nasty tackle from behind on Adam Traore. Really Dire and booked for that. Nit sure why he deliberately fouled Traore then starts screaming at him like a stark raving lunatic
Come on, you Red Devils! It's United Time!
YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!! UNITED TIE IT UP. MASON GREENWOOD WITH A SHOT FROM THE D THAT WENT THROUGH JERRY MINOR'S LEGS AND BEAT PICKFORD AT THE NEAR POST. NICE RUN AND PASS FROM DAN JAMES
tOFFEES STRIKER , mOISE kEAN WITH SOME DAFT DEFENDING , CONCEDING A FREE KICK JUST OUTSIDE THE uNITED BOX
Now 1-1 in both matches
Retaliation by Adama Traore? Barges over Dier, who crashed to the ground, but kept his mouth shut, presumably because he didn't want a second yellow
Harry Kane fouls Adama Traore , giving Wolves a set piece opportunity
Wolves have a useful free kick from a good crossing area now.
Harry Kane and Not Abel to dodge a booking for that foul
Well done, United - I'm delighted for you and UWS!
Gazza does well to save a header from Matt Doherty off the free kick. The the rebound is blasted well over
De Gea does well to turna round a shot from Iwobi
Thanks, Bob. Hopefully we can score a late winner
Jose looks miserable in the Midlands rain.
Little Joe with a big yell to his assistant. Getting frustrated
Let's hope so - come on, you Red Devils!
Now it's a Mata of Dan James being substituted. He and Greenwood were really influential in the second half against Alphabet Soup on Thursday
Little Joe with a Rebel Yell and the Wolves fans shout More, More, More!
Eriksen on for a cameo in place of Lucas Moura
GOAL! Vertonghen seemingly wins it!!
Free header for the Belgian from the corner and didn't he do well to find the bottom corner.
WOW ! Big Dunc sanding out a powerful message. Mosie Kean substituted by Niasse only eighteen minutes after coming on. Ignores Big Dunc and goes straight down the tunnel. I'm sure Big Dun c will have him for lunch tomorrow.
GOAL !! THE SPUDS HEAD IN A LATE CORNER FOR 1-2 LEAD
Just to ruin UWS' morning at the beach, Jose makes two late, late substitutions.
Little Joe doing his level best ti ruin UWS'S anniversary with a defensive stoppage time change
Moise Kean looked like he was about to yell at Big Dunc then when Big Dunc glared at him, he chickened out. What a loser! I'm sure his days are numbered with the Toffees. He's been a flop and Marco Silva is no longer there to protect him just because he's a Juve player
LOL! Great minds think alike.
OH!! Long range effort from Jota just wide
Any chance for a United winner now?
LOL, indeed. Little Joe never liked UWS
It's over at OT and mutual respect between the two managers as they hug. It finishes 1-1 at OT. The SPuds win 1-2 at Molineaux , making French Toast out of Wolves
Spurs are up to 5th now on the strength of that win, with United dropping to 6th a point behind them. Wolves drop to 8th. And Everton gain another vital point in their relegation fight. They're 16th now.
Next up we've got third place City against 9th place Arsenal.
Big Dunc seems happier then Moise Ken , who will discover how tough big Dunc is when presumably called into his office tomorrow. Does Bob have any advice for Mosie Kean?
I suggest that Moises tuck into a nice English dinner.
The Two Robbies are now having a bit of a laugh as Crockett and Tubbs out of Miami Vice.
Phil Foden starts a Premier League game for the first time this season. Here's the team news:
Arsenal (4-2-3-1) Leno; Maitland-Niles, Chambers, Sokratis, Kolasinac; Guendouzi, Torreira; Pepe, Ozil, Martinelli; Aubameyang.
Substitutes: Martinez, David Luiz, Saka, Willock, Smith Rowe, Lacazette, Nelson.
Manchester City (4-3-3) Ederson; Walker, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Mendy; Gundogan, Rodri, Foden; De Bruyne, Jesus, Sterling.
Substitutes: Bravo, Zinchenko, Angelino, B Silva, Mahrez, Cancelo, E Garcia.
Referee Paul Tierney.
Teams are coming out of the tunnel now.
They're off from the EM!
All set to go at the Emirates now - come on, you Gunners!
Will there be cursing in the streets of Alex? The Gunners force Ederson to turn around a shot in the first seconds of the match
The youngster Martinelli nearly gets onto one early doors. I like him a lot - he's a real threat.
GOAL !! THEN CITEH GO STRAIGHT UP THE PITCH AND KDB BLASTS CITEH INTO AN EARLY LEAD
Bloody hell - KDB rockets one in with a controlled volley.
End to end goal. 0-1.
Citeh built out of the back as the Gunners shot wide from the corner. Fernandinho found his compatriot, Jesus down the left and he cut it back for KDB to blast a shot into the upper 90- from the edge of the box
Well, now - what's the Plan B, Freddie?
Citeh still third, but now four points behind the Foxes whom they play on Saturday
The live standings bow with Spurs 5th, United 6th, the Evil Blades 7th, Wolves 8th, and the Gunners 9th.
Gooner must be having kittens about this defending. It's as if the defenders are on strike.
I do not understand how a really ordinary team like the Blades are in 7th. Makes no sense.
Palace host their rivals , the Seagulls tomorrow and move up to 8th if they win, ahead of Wolves and the Gunners.Palace up to 7th if the win by nine or more goals and up to sixth if they win by eleven or more goals
The Evil Blades need to be put to thew sword. Their bubble will eventually burst. Will Chris Wilder attract interest from bigger clubs?
Arsenal remind me a bit of United, in that there are so many players that start every week that I think aren't good enough to play for Arsenal. Among those I'd count
Leno; Maitland-Niles, Chambers, Sokratis, Kolasinac; Guendouzi, Torreira; and Pepe.
That's 8 out of the starting 11 today!
GOAL !!! CITEH GO TWO UP AT THE EM
Bloody hell - Citeh are 0-2 up. Too easy.
Another typical Citeh goal. Won the ball just outside their own box. Phil Foden found KDB down the left and his pass was put away at the far post by a wide open Sterling
Schoolboy defending from the Arsenal - Sterling now into double figures for the season.
There must surely be cursing in the streets of Alex. Steve must be thinking the Gunners are anything but Sterling today
Also, that's a 10th assist from the Ginger Winger. Nice ball it was, too, but Kolasinac should have been able to cut it out.
I thought Steve was really excited about Torreira signing for the Gunners. It's hard to criticize Jay Leno as the cover in front of him is like ;late night talk show material.
KDB now has a two assist lead over Number One Son
Celtic two up vs Hibs in second half stoppage time and back on top of the SPL, a pair of points ahead of their Old Firm rivals
KDB with a long range effort high and wide.
That score is now a final. Celtic have defeated their green and white rivals 2-0
No doubt, mate - the Emirates crowd is getting audibly frustrated as well. I'm assuming that Freddie isn't long for this job.
The Gunners did come from two down in Belgium on Thursday with two late goals. The same today?
Martinelli is struggling a little after Kyle Walker accidentally trod on his left hand. Can you run off a hand injury? Probably.
Agreed, mate. He's a likely to get the job as Freddie Mercury. How about Chris Wilder? He has an impressive CV if you would like a brief summary
No you cannot. It goes away with time , which is not on the Gunner's side
Not sure what Phil Foden is doing with his hair. That cut is a shocker!
No thanks, mate. I wouldn't give Chris Wilder a job in a truck stop restroom.
Despite being the Evil Blades manager, Chris Wilder has worked his way up from the bottom over the years.
Won the 9th Tier with Alfreton Town 2002
Won promotion from the National League with Oxford Shoes in 2010
Won L2 with Northants in in 2016
Won L1 with the Evil Blades in 2017
Won promotion from the Championship in 2019 with the Evil Blades
How many managers can say they've worked their way from the 9th tier to the Prem over the years? He's not a big time Charlie, but one of us. Should I be his agent?
That's a truly evil resume.
The Evil Blades in 7th due to the manager. If someone like Jose was in charge they would be bottom. Chris has a knack of getting the most out of average players. His players are not a kick and run side. He may be able to get the Gunners back on track
Fernandinho into the book for that foul on Kolasinac.
I'm impressed with Chris. Could Pep achieve the same with those sides or can he only win with hand picked sides?
I think it was Rodri with that foul if I'm not mistaken
Based on your reaction, The Gunners would be better off with Gene Wilder?
Kolasinac trodding off injured. Back in the days of SAF and Arsene, that type of foul would not have been enough for someone to go off injured and call it a day
That's a fair point. Pep has only ever coached the best - Barca, Bayern and now City. It would be interesting to see what a manager like Pep could get out of a bottom half side in the Premier League or a Championship side. To some extent that's what you're seeing with Bielsa at Leeds.
GOAL !!!KDB PUTS CITEH THREE UP WHILE THE GUNNERS WERE DOWN TO TEN PLAYERS ON THE PITCH
I'd like to see Arsenal give it a go with a British manager for a change; perhaps, Eddie Howe if he could be pried away from Bournemouth.
Oh dear - 0-3. KDB again. This time with his left peg.
That was a good finish but I'm not sure why either Ghendouzi or Chambers (or both) aren't throwing themselves in the way of it to block the shot.
Kolasinac limps off and is replaced by Bukayo Saka, whoever the hell he is.
All three goals started from the back with absolutely no pressure on the ball from the Gunners. This one came with Kolasinac supposedly polaxed off he field. It culminated in a pass from Phil Foden to KDB who mad a 180 degree turn and scored from 30 yards out
Oh - KDB nearly gets his hat-trick! Off the Sunday Roast!
Great save by Leno!
Saka is a young striker , who has played well when called upon. He reminds me a lot of Mason Greenwood.
I'm assuming that Gooner is watching this match with it on mute - the Lee Dixon commentary would be intolerable.
Was Kolsinac really that injured? When United and the Gunners were winning titles players played 90 minutes in a lot more pain. Is Kolaisnac taking the easy way out to go missing in action?
A trio of stoppage time minutes
The lack of effort from Gunners players may be more unbearable than listening to Lee
I'm not sure. Lee Dixon gets right up Gooner's nose.
