Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Footie as a Refuge for the Snowbound

Morning, all! The East Coast is set to get pounded with several feet of snow this weekend, so what better refuge than to dive deeply into the weekend's footer. It all starts with Chelsea hosting their London neighbors Fulham. At 10 am, the Premier League elites have a rest, so you can all tune into the Championship stuff on ESPN+, including my beloved Leeds United's clash at Cardiff City. The big boys are back for a late one between Citeh and Toon.

Join me for a cuppa if you're about, eh?

The west London derby, the one where Fulham travel elsewhere in Fulham to play Chelsea. Both clubs are coming off midweek Carabao Cup defeats, Fulham with rather more honour than Chelsea. Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure, even if club suits say not.

Chelsea have run out 1-0 winners thanks to a penalty by Cole Palmer.

Great afternoon in the Championship for Leeds. We've run out 0-3 winners in South Wales, whilst Leicester have gone down 3-1 at Coventry. Sadly Southampton have romped it 4-0 over Wednesday and WBA have done Blackburn 4-1. Still, we've now achieved Championship safety by the end of January and now sit on 51 points from 27 matches. We're in fourth, four points back on both Southampton and Ipswich who player later on.
